Once they’ve left The War Zone, the RV radio goes from just static, to a promising murmur, before playing a song at full volume.

It’s not something that Steve would expect Eddie to know the words to, all new wave and bouncy synths.

But he definitely does, perfectly imitating the preacher-like delivery in the song.

Steve can sense Eddie pointing at him theatrically in his peripheral vision, and though he can’t turn to look, he can just tell that he’s also wearing a shit-eating grin.

“And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile,” Eddie half-sings, laughing through it.

“Munson, siddown while the automobile is in motion.”

Steve makes a turning, takes the RV off the road. There’s a suspicious sounding thump from behind—Eddie stumbling while trying to get back to his seat. He’s still singing.

The sun’s shining through, lighting up his side profile—briefly turns his eyes from brown to amber.

Christ, you’re pretty.

It’s not the first time that Steve’s had the thought. But maybe it’s the first time he really lets himself hear it.

Looking at it in my twisted little mind, from this perspective it feels like a war-torn Kafka coming home to the one man that grounds him. Hoshina gave this man a fresh start, forgave him for lying about being Kaiju number 8, and gave him access to tools to help him in the coming fights. Hoshina swept away any thought he had about not being strong enough to fight for others.

When he's with this man... how could one's soul not feel painted with gold.

Our hearts have been through a lot of ups and downs, and sometimes, the downs persist more than the ups. With it being this rough, what are the messages we need to hear to soothe our hearts and to provide any needed clarity?

Overall theme: The Hierophant

This pile feels like they wanna go safe, wanna play it safe, kinda vibe. Conservative and traditional aren’t the words I’m trying to find here, but they’re someone who sticks to whatever they’ve done, and will use the same method over and over again, having smol fears of trying something new or a new method. The legit play it safe.

What has happened, what has caused this turbulence? Eight of Wands

Pile 1, since you’re used to taking your time to deal with things at your pace, you found it extremely challenging when new challenges come your way at a very fast pace. This probably happened in a short period of time continuously, and you’re unable to catch up to doing a lot at the same time. And the feeling of incompetence slowly eats you up and you panic, not knowing how you’re supposed to be doing what you’re called to do.

Immediately I thought of a mother figure. The oracle cards came out after that further proves it. It’s making me feel that your mother, or a mother figure, or a beloved older woman with air signs in her chart (think Libra, Aquarius, Gemini) has hurted you with words that were sharp and blunt at the same time, like it stabbed your heart and hit you with it together. Not to mention that some of them are actually unwanted, unsolicited advice that doesn’t help anything with your life.

Why did it happen? Page of Pentacles

For you to be able to see and acknowledge that some things in life need to be cut off so that you can have a new beginning. For some reasons, I feel that it’s like a reason for you to start something new, something totally fresh. It’s like… Giving up everything in your hometown and leaving for a new town with just a backpack, starting a new job and finding a new house and making new friends in another city. Kinda feeling. I have another feeling that earth seasons (think Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo seasons) are significant for you or will be the time you’ve decided to take action on your life.

What should I learn from this? King of Swords

You need to be more critical in thoughts, know what to take in and what not to take in. There are truths and there are non-truths, you need to be critical and have to understand what and why. Maybe you can learn how to apply 5W1H in conversations and see how you work it out. Another thing I’m seeing is that you’ll need to protect yourself and counter back with words when needed. The King of Swords in my deck looks like he’s surrounded by spikes. Which means, he’s protecting himself and doesn’t give anyone the chance to hurt him. Anyone who attempts to hurt him will go through the process of hurting themselves before they could do any potential damage.

What can I do now? Ten of Pentacles rx

Weirdly, I see leaving the family. Ten of Pentacles gives me the vibe of a successful family. And it in reverse gives the feeling that the family is no longer a situation that’s beneficial for you. It’s like you’re an outcast in the family and you’re advised to leave the household.

Another interpretation I’m seeing here is also getting a pet? So that you have a new problem to deal with to distract yourself from old problems. But also pets are helpful in healing and getting you out of certain situations, including your family. So yeah, it’s worth considering.

Immediately I thought about spirituality, unhappy or fearful spiritual experiences. Some of you may start to have your third eye opening and you’ve been thrown into spiritual experiences which you definitely did not welcome. But it still happened. The challenges came forth too strongly and the moment you stepped out of your comfort zone, you were wounded badly and you shrunk back into it again.

That aside, I’m also seeing possibilities of you not believing in your intuition, in your gut feeling, and the end results are telling you that you should’ve listened to them. I’m feeling themes of secrecy and betrayal as well from this card.

The Moon talks about spiritual themes and also fear, which I believe is still within you. Two cards fell out for this pile and I’m taking them both. There’s a feeling of lostness and frailness when I saw these two cards together. It’s like… Someone is lost and they’re flailing around, trying to find their way out of whatever tunnels they’re in right now. They should be calm and to look at the hints around there to get their way out, but no, they’ve not been doing it, and they’ve been destroying the hints with every flail of their movement.

There’s a feeling of defeat I’m sensing from this pile. It’s like… You’ve been dethroned and there’s someone better who’s sitting in the place you’ve used to sit in. It’s like you’re no longer in your old days of old glory. It’s like seeing someone younger being more successful than you, and you are just looking at them, mind empty of what you’re supposed to be thinking of.

Why did it happen? The Sun

It is telling you that The Sun will be out soon. Sure, it’s dark right now, but it isn’t as scary as you think it is. Think of the dark as a chance to know what Light feels like, how the warmth of The Sun feels like. Pay close attention to your heart and mind, do not allow the fear and darkness to distract you.

What should I learn from this? The Hierophant

That tradition also plays a part. See, a lot of us tend to look down on tradition and think that it’s the new age, where we focus on coming up with new ideas. And sometimes, venturing into new things without referring to the past advice/examples may get us too far and we fall. This is the time where we sit and review back what our predecessors have done and we should also learn from them. There’s a balance that’s needed between the new and the old.

What can I do now? Three of Pentacles

Work together with your friends, your team, and everyone who wants to work with you. Learn from your mistakes and stand up again, work together again, build everything up again. You’ve done it in the past and you can do it again. You have the resources, the experiences, everything you need is there. All that you now need is a healthier mindset and a great team to get everything going again. And this time, it will be smoother and better. Trust in yourself.

How long will this last? Eight of Cups

Until you’ve successfully walked away from your past. Your past here is defined as anything that has been holding you back and doing nothing beneficial in your life. You hanging onto your past victory? Has to go. You are resentful towards the one winning your throne. That resentment has to go. Once you’ve moved from the old to the new, only then you’ll be able to welcome a new future that’s been specifically tailored for you. Mental clarity is what I’m seeing here. Once you’ve passed the stage of leaving what no longer helps you, you’ll be needing to make a decision. Sometimes it’s difficult to take down the things that are covering our eyes, so we need to rely on our other senses. Similarly, sometimes we can’t see or judge things fairly, hence, we turn to our friends and people we trust to hear their thoughts. Know that everything lies with timing. The timing is just right for your dreams, desires and goals to manifest.

There’s moodiness here as well as unrealistic imagination. For some reason, I’m feeling that some of y’all are just imagining scenes in your head as a way of escaping from this real world. Not saying you can’t, but there’s a limit to it. Those imaginations can be realistic or totally wild, magical kinda imaginations, but remember to come back to the present after those thoughts.

Childe Kinnie: A Character Analysis and Introspection

To immediately dive in: Childe is the poster child for C-PTSD.  C-PTSD forms from experiencing repeated trauma for an extended period of time, the brain being forced to function solely on survival on a day to day basis, fitting Childe exactly, and is probably why I've, sadly, boasted him as one of my highest kins despite him being from Genshit (I am AR55 I can say that).  Childe's trauma and his various methodologies of dealing with it and living with it are shown throughout his story and, your honor, make him So Me.

To begin: what caused Childe to form C-PTSD?  Childe's trauma is, obviously, rooted from his fall into the Abyss.  Although the experience isn't fully described in lore, it's easy to assume he had to be on constant alert, ready to fight at any given moment.  It's here he met his teacher, Skirk, that allowed him to have the fighting skills necessary to survive in the Abyss and excel as a fighter in Teyvat.  Obviously, having to be taught means he wasn't always a skilled fighter, and he undoubtedly would've had several close encounters during his time in the Abyss, on top of fighting requiring excessive alertness, especially when constantly in a hostile environment.  Thus, being alert becomes a constant in his life.

Biologically, what is happening is stress hormones are constantly being pumped into the system, inducing the body into a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze.  This state of mind is one that will continue to plague the mind and body for an extended period of time, and will affect relationships and viewing oneself moving forward.  We can potentially see this in him being unable to form any meaningful relation with his peers–although such can also be blamed due to the eccentricness of the Harbingers themselves, who are… characters, to say the very least.  Either way, there is a disconnect shown between them, with Harbingers either viewing their youngest as an oddity or with Childe looking upon them with disdain for how they follow through in their ways.  Straightforward, Childe fights, and dislikes stopping to scheme like he peers frequently do.

Another addition to Childe's relations–although more of a headcanon–is a strained relationship with his family (younger siblings disincluded).  Coming back to normalcy, Ajax (who had undoubtedly changed in an irreparable manner) is headcanon to have been ostracized from his family–those old enough to have seen the change.  Ajax was once a frightened, hesitant boy, and within the span of three days the young boy had turned into a bloodthirsty weapon, quite literally losing the spark in his eye.  He was unable to go back to living a normal life, and due to it, had his relationship with his parents completely uprooted.  Unable to handle this new personality, the complete opposite of the young teen that walked off just three days prior, they sent him off to the Fatui, where his survivability made him thrive and Tartaglia was rightly born.

Upon the topic of Tartaglia, it is also of note his three names, and that they represent, because of course I relate to it as well.  The names represent not only different periods of his life, but different personalities, or state of being he is.  To begin: Ajax.  Ajax, easily identifiable, represents the child that lived in innocence up until his fourteenth year.  It carries the hope of a fair and good life, where nothing went wrong and happiness was of abundance.  It is his inner child, the spark that once lit his eyes.

Tartaglia comes next.  Tartaglia comes from the cruelty of the Abyss, of surviving and of the power he holds.  It is a title that shows he has survived–the youngest Harbinger, the Tsaritsa's Vanguard: Tartaglia is a shield.  Tartaglia is the hypervigilance of his surroundings, the need for bloodshed, to maim any potential threat before it can hurt him.  Tartaglia is isolated, above any common soldier or general, disconnected to his fellow Harbingers, unable to see the reasons behind why they act.  Tartaglia is a weapon, meant to be used, to serve a purpose in a way he doesn't decide: so unable to do anything other than survive, knowing how to do nothing other than fight, it makes sense to dedicate himself fully as the Tsarita's weapon.  Ultimately, Tartaglia boasts his trauma and shows you just how well he can fight, that he is still surviving. 

Childe, then, is the remnant of hope.  Childe is the mask worn–it is what he introduces himself as, the showing of a cheerful, childlike man.  Friendly and confident, willing to protect and keep any promise held.  A fierce dedication to his family–parcels of letters and medication sent back to the family that sent their teenager to the military.  Childe, willing to sacrifice his health, even like, for the sake of his little brother who unknowingly wandered into mortal.  Childe is the want of normalcy.  The want to create a place safe enough to do something more than survive–to let Ajax breathe for the first time in years.  Willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of those the holds dear, Childe would do anything for the approval that he lacks from his peers and family.

Three separate states of being, three separate all conglomerating into one fucked up guy.  A silly guy who puts on a front that to either hide away from his trauma or to boast how he has survived.  A constant switch, unable to lice without the other: both Childe and Tartaglia, who hold the dying corpse of Ajax in their arms: one trying desperately to heal him, the other desperately trying to protect him.  Ajax needs both to survive, but is given only one or the other, never both, never given any gasp of air to breathe.

The change of names could also hold significance in trying to avoid–another common symptom of C-PSTD.  By changing such an integral part of himself, it creates a distance between who he is now versus who he was then.  Perhaps it is projection: I, too, changed my name to separate myself from who I was, from the trauma that clung to my life in the past, which makes it of perfect sense to why it is fitting, then, for Childe to boast three separate names.  Ajax and the trauma of the Abyss, to Tartaglia and his time spent in the military and ostracized from his peers, and Childe who, hopefully, will rise apart from the names that haunt his every step.

Ultimately, he is just a silly little guy with a shitton of trauma.  A jokester whose need to survive slips in every now and then, a constant reminder of the harshness he faced on a prolonged basis.  And because of that, your honors he is sooooo me.  Me fr.  Omg.  Me if I didn't get therapy.

Hey btw having depression is not a requirement for being goth and if you think it is I don't like you. That's a whole chronic illness, not a part of your "goth mindset"/"aesthetic". Please reflect on that.

to this day the perfect transition, both musically and thematically, from drugstore perfume to get the gang together on hesalien makes me insane. Its like one long story, the loneliness and dysphoria and boredom that comes with being a teen trapped in their hometown with no escape and no prospects and then flash forwarding to your 20 year high school reunion after you ran away and found some sort of happiness and seeing how the people and the place have has only festered and rotted the connections you did feel you had, revealing itself as somewhere that was never very kind or safe for you. It's closure on that nostalgia that grows as you get older, a stark reminder that you were right to leave, and just because you miss something doesn't mean you should go back to it
