Password protection is now available for both recently deleted and hidden albums. Deleted albums

The Hidden album in the Photos app isn't hidden, seeing as it is easily accessible which makes it difficult to properly protecting private images and videos. Apple offers the option to make the Hidden Album "invisible" however, anyone with access can see everything inside and can make it accessible again.

Thanks to iOS 16 You can now lock the Hidden album. To turn on this feature you don't have to do anything. If you'd like to test it out, open the Photos app and go to the Albums tab at the bottom of the screen. Scroll down until you see a lock beside the Hidden and Recently Deleted album. To see what's inside, use Face ID or your passcode.
