The $190,000 worth 2007 “Holy Grail” iPhone
Tumblr media
Usually, as soon as you take an iPhone out of the store, its value immediately drops. However, there are some exceptions, as was seen at a US auction where a first-edition, unused 4GB device fetched $190,372.80 (£145,416).
The fact that so few of these were produced at the time called the model the "Holy Grail" among iPhone collectors.
The LCG Auctions-run item received a total of 28 bids and went for roughly 400 times its starting price.
It was referred to as "a popular high-end" and "red-hot collectable" by LCG Auctions, who also noted that two other factory-sealed, first-edition iPhones had recently reached record prices.
The model was referred to as a "exceptionally rare, factory sealed, first-release 4GB model" on the website. The factory seal is immaculate with accurate seam details and tightness, and the surface and edges are almost faultless.
The lot, which had a starting price of $599 (£457), was projected to bring in between $50,000 and $100,000, yet it managed to break all prior records.
When it was first introduced in 2007 by the company's then-CEO Steve Jobs, the 4GB model was quickly discontinued by the tech giant due to slow sales.
The 8GB variant, released at the same time and offered users twice as much storage for just $100 more, was chosen by most customers.

🔌 How to Use Your iPhone as a Wi‑Fi Hotspot
Tumblr media
Want to share your iPhone’s cellular connection with another device? Whether you're on the go with your laptop, helping a friend out over coffee, or keeping a tablet online during travel, setting up a hotspot is easy. Here’s how to do it:
📶 Step 1: Turn on Personal Hotspot
Open the Settings app.
Tap Personal Hotspot (or Cellular → Personal Hotspot if it’s nested).
Toggle Allow Others to Join to On.
Set or verify your Wi‑Fi password—this secures access to your hotspot.
🔌 Step 2: Connect Your Device
Choose how to connect:
Wi‑Fi:
On your other device (laptop, tablet, etc.), go to its Wi‑Fi settings, select your iPhone’s network name, and enter the password you set.
Bluetooth:
Pair both devices via Bluetooth. On your iPhone, in the hotspot settings, tap Pair New Device and follow instructions.
USB:
Use your Lightning cable to connect the iPhone and another device. On a Mac, open System Preferences → Network and choose your iPhone connection. On Windows, you'll see a new network—no extra setup required.
🛠️ Step 3: Check Your Connection
Once another device is connected, you'll see a blue or green bar at the top of your iPhone showing how many users are connected.
Connected devices will also appear listed under Personal Hotspot in Settings.
⚠️ Pro Tips & Troubleshooting
Carrier plan: Make sure your data plan allows hotspot usage and doesn’t impose extra fees.
Data usage: The hotspot uses your mobile data—keep an eye on usage to avoid overage charges.
Weak or no connection?
Try toggling Airplane Mode off and on.
Restart your iPhone or your hotspot device.
Weak Wi‑Fi signal?
Bring devices closer together. For USB connections, ensure your cable is working properly.
✅ Quick Recap
StepWhat to Do1. Enable HotspotSettings → Personal Hotspot → On2. ConnectVia Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, or USB3. VerifyWatch for the blue bar + device list
Once you’ve finished, simply toggle off Personal Hotspot to conserve data and battery. If you'd like visuals or carrier‑specific details, just let me know!

Hey! I have some fun advice, here, too. I don’t know much about Android, but if you’re an iOS user, your device most likely has on-device translation built-in. Yes! Built-right-in to the copy/paste menu. All you have to do is highlight the text (bonus fact: iOS can highlight text in some images, so you might even be able to translate photos, too). Next, wait for the copy/paste options to pop up, like this:
Tumblr media
Then, all you have to do is select the “Translate” option, and iOS will automatically choose the language it thinks is present and give you this pop-up on the lower half of your screen:
Tumblr media
If it gets the language wrong, you can manually change it, too, by tapping the drop down menu, at the top.
Also, sometimes iOS puts the “Translate” option past the first row. So here’s a tip if you don’t see it: Scroll. Hold down on the copy/paste bar as seen above, and swipe to the left. It should give you more options, one of which might be “Translate.” Here’s a GIF to show you what I mean and a patch of text to test on.
Tumblr media
Se você está vendo isso, significa que traduziu com sucesso esta seção do texto… ou fala português… Nesse caso, pare de trapacear!
Happy Translating!
Btw guys, expect another twitter migration because, apparently, twitter has a high chance of being banned in Brazil
To any new people coming here: Hi! Please don’t feel pressured to speak English, speak Portuguese or Spanish or Your Language Of Choice!! We may not have automatic translations like twitter does, but that doesn’t mean that you should have to cater to English-only speakers
