Thoughts on Phoenix x Iris?

I like it for what it is in the story! It's obviously not my main, but I think it's a really interesting facet to Phoenix and his tendencies to go headfirst into who he will go to bat for, whether it's romantic/platonic/familial, etc. Namely, that he believes hard, and when he falls, he falls HARD! They're kind of like a bittersweet first relationship for me. For all intents and purposes, they were a sweet couple in love-- they were sappy dorks who gave each other gifts (the sweater, what Phoenix believed the necklace to be, and so on), They had adorable nicknames for each other, they were THAT sappy adorable couple that you see on campus that you gag at, but they're really harmless, so you just let them do their thing. I think the tragedy with them was that for a time, despite Iris pretending to be her sister, and the reason for dating Phoenix was to keep him from getting straight up murdered to get evidence for ANOTHER attempted murder off of him, it was real. They were a real couple that loved and cared for each other, and it wasn't all a big lie. I can see them trying again, or attempting to, after 3-5 just to get closure (especially for Iris getting another go with her real name), but I think Dahlia was just too big of a presence for both of them-- they couldn't quite get rid of her shadow. Every time Iris sees Phoenix, she just sees that blissfully unaware dork who called her Dollie, and every time Phoenix sees her, he can only see Dahlia. I like to think that they remain friendly, but definitely less close than before after that. One thing I love about Iris is that she's also a little unhinged, one of my favorite parts of 3-5 is where she admits that she would have done ANYTHING to protect Phoenix, implying that she would not be afraid to take Dahlia's life if it got to that point. I think it really hammers in the point that despite being the "good" twin, they really are sisters from the same cloth. Thank you for the ask, it was a very pleasant surprise!! :D

For the record, i do think she knew about Phoenix becoming a lawyer for the chance of seeing him again, but that doesn’t change the fact that she can’t understand this crush he has on the man

Iris sat, kneeling, on the floor by the window in her apartment. In her hands, she held two needles and a ball of pink yarn, as she began knitting a sweater for her boyfriend. Well, he wasn’t technically her boyfriend. Phoenix Wright believed he was dating Dahlia, her twin, even though she wanted nothing to do with the boy. But that gave Iris no comfort with her new found feelings for him. He was in love with who he believed to be Dahlia, who was not Dahlia, but Iris. He called her Dahlia, and when people asked who is girlfriend was, he said Dahlia, because Dahlia gave him that stupid poison necklace. However she couldn’t bring herself to hate either of them, to her, it was cute how Phoenix gushed over the necklaces and the things she did. And, no matter how hard she tried, she could never hate Dahlia.

To Phoenix Wright, Dahlia Hawethorn was his soulmate, and he didn’t know anyone named Iris. It made her jealous. She knew he was more in love with her more than her sister. He was in love with the mini omelets Iris made, not Dahlia. He was in love with the sweet, loving Iris, not the cold, manipulative Dahlia. But still, when they talked, he called her sister's name. She was saved in his phone as “Dolly <3” not “Iris <3” or whatever nickname he would give her. It was always Dolly, and never Iris. Maybe, once she got the necklace from him, she could tell him the truth. He’d probably hate her, she would hate her. But it would give her a chance to tell him the truth, to have a relationship as Iris and Phoenix. 

She went to see his trial. If she spoke up, she could save him, and yet she couldn’t bring herself to throw Dahlia under the bus. 

“My sweet Dolly would never do something like that!” Phoenix cried, when Ms. Fey turned the blame to Dahlia.

Phoenix was right, his Dolly would never do something like this. But his Dolly wasn’t on the stand, she was watching. His Dolly may not have killed anyone, but she was just as bad. Iris Fey was no killer, she wasn’t even sure if what she was doing counted as manipulation. After all, she did love him, but she was impersonating her sister. She was lying to him. So maybe her jealousy was her punishment.

Super Mario x Ace Attorney au

This gosh darn au has been the only thing I’ve been able to draw for the past month, I have been fully absorbed by Ace Attorney. Going forward there will be slight spoilers for pretty much the entirety of the mainline series, and I’ll be introducing them by series installment

The story would overall be mostly the same with some things changed to better fit the characters. The thing that would change the most would be the whole Fey family plot line. I have some ideas for it, but I’m still working it out. Lemme know if y’all want more of this
