OK JSE/IRIS PROJECT FANS, LET’S TALK ABOUT THIS

So I know I'm a few days late to this, but I came across this Tweet in someone's community post on YouTube and wanted to discuss it. It comes from the Twitter account for Jack's coffee company, but given the way it's written, it's very clear it has something to do with IRIS. So what does it mean?

First off, who is this Tom Dellinger guy? As far as I'm aware, we haven't been introduced to this character yet. My first guess is that this is the name of the scientist Arin Hanson was playing, as he was never actually given a name, and it's pretty clear based on what's said here in the document that the person who wrote it works for IRIS in some capacity (probably at a lower rank). But then again, it could be someone else at a similar rank.

Second, why is so much redacted? It's very difficult to understand the context of this email as so much of it has been removed. But going through it bit by bit, we might be able to figure something out.

Let's start with the first sentence: "I don't understand what is going on with [REDACTED] these past few months," The redacted word is clearly a name, one that we're not supposed to know. We know it's a man given the next sentence, we know he's in charge of whatever division Tom is working for (described as "working (them) to the bone"), we know he's been wearing new suits, and we know that he's been doing so as a means of gaining respect from his subordinates. So this nameless man is clearly in charge of something important at IRIS, something that's kept private from the general public. Clearly only employees and those "in the know" are supposed to know who this guy is, hence why his name is redacted. But apparently, his demeanor has been different, prompting Tom to write this email in the first place. So his whole thing about working his subordinates to the bone and wearing nice suits to gain respect is not what he's always been like.

But working them to the bone for WHAT? We don't know that, either. My guess is it's some sort of secret project this man is in charge of. Perhaps he's obsessing over it to an absurd degree, something he wouldn't normally do. This could tie into IRIS' ultimate ulterior motive, the reason they're so interested in these ALTRs in the first place.

Then we get a mention of another character. "Also, what ever happened to [REDACTED]? He used to be in the office all the time up until recently...and now even the pictures of him are gone," This is clearly a different person from the guy who was mentioned before. This guy, presumably also an employee of IRIS, has just up and vanished, which is weird given how often he was working. There could be multiple reasons for this. Perhaps this guy stumbled upon whatever horrible project IRIS is working on, one that they were keeping secrets from their lower-level employees, and either quit in a hurry because he didn't want to support it, or was found out and...um...unpersoned...if you catch my drift. This also implies that Tom really shouldn't be mentioning this guy to his fellow employees (who I'm presuming are the recipients of this email, as it's also redacted).

Tom then says he believes something fishy is going on, and that he asked Rochelle and Darnell (two other employees, I'm guessing), but what they said is redacted. Maybe they'd heard rumors about what IRIS was doing. Tom doesn't seem to believe them, meaning that IRIS lower-level employees wouldn't have a good reason to believe that IRIS is doing something bad.

Then the last censored line: "We'll see if [REDACTED], hopefully someone stands up to him," This is likely referring to that boss guy that was mentioned in the beginning, as Tom clearly doesn't like him and thinks he needs to be knocked down a peg. As for what he's referring to, I'm really not sure. He said he didn't want the rumors he was discussing to spread to anyone else, so the idea of him suggesting someone confront this boss character with them is unlikely. This could really be anything.

All in all, this is an interesting glimpse into IRIS and demonstrates how the hierarchy of the company might've led to some shady stuff going on. These are all just my thoughts, and I've yet to look into other theories about this, so if this contradicts some consensus other fans have come to, please don't hold it against me.

Anyway, consider this nuts theory below:

Arin was gaslighting Chase and us when he said that Chase hadn't been there before. So here's my theory, y'all - Chase has been there before for a separate incident involving ALTR-114209. Ya know, Anti, the spooky turtle? Yeah, and the red room when he encountered Anti again was - and hear me out for a minute - AN UNCALIBRATED MEMORY.

Remember how an IRIS post mentioned recalibration?

So the presumption is that recalibration is effectively brainwashing; it effectively wipes those memories from your mind, but what if they're just buried deeply in your mind and Chase just so happened to remember the hallway from IRIS when he encountered Anti in his house?

The reason I'm bringing this up is because of a certain line Chase says in the first interview of Anomaly Found:

Who's to say Chase has been there before, was recalibrated and sent back out, and Arin is just gaslighting Chase about it? What if deja vu is just an uncalibrated memory that's leaking back into the forefront?

So it's been a while since I posted, it's currently 2 am in my area and I'm running on 4 hours of sleep. But that's not the point because WHAT THE FUCK WAS ON TOTM TWITTER?! I can get behind on the ALTRVERSE teaser on Jack's twitter but TOTM?! What the heck was that foreshadowing?! Is it Anti? Is it a new coffee? The translated version of the code were "He's been different" and "I'm coming". Am I overreacting? Should I sleep?!?!

I LOVE these Theories and could DEFINITELY be the case but another thing that could be it is that Seán decided to change his appearance to make him actually horrifying and not a cute glitchy goblin with extra floofy hair.

Or, he's been projecting himself on the internet and traveling through technology through the IRIS technology and software and his appearance is based on when he's in technology (Green and Glitching) and when he's actually out walking (Red with Grippers out). The thick beard could just be Sean's luscious beard and the messy but slicked back hair is a trait of some of the most popular villains (ie, Loki) but hey. That's just a Theory... AN EGO THEORY!

Or - eye colors, symbolism, and my head canon about L, Near and Mello's "weird dead eyes".

In Volume 13 Takeshi Obata reveals that because Ohba requested Near and Mello each have something reminiscent of L in their character designs he decided to express this by giving them the same eyes as L. As a result in the manga all three have black seemingly iris-less eyes.

So are we meant to understand that they all actually had pitch black pools where most humans and indeed everyone else in the manga had normal human eyes including the luxury of colored irises? On the other hand, in the anime L retains his familiar black eyes, however Near's are grey and Mello's are blue.

So why the inconsistency? In my opinion....BOTH are true.

It's not impossible to have eyes that are so dark brown they appear practically black, and the line between iris and pupils becomes hard to distinguish. But Near and Mello both have very fair skin and hair, it makes sense for them to also have light eyes.

My interpretation is that Obata's intent here is meant to be more symbolic than literal. Their black eyes may indeed actually be brown, grey, and blue respectively. But the similarity Obata tries to convey is not in the surface of their physical appearance, it's their essence that shines through. It's what I will call the "Wammy Boy stare" (admittedly something of a misnomer because it's really only a quality shared by L and his successors, but bear with me I wanted to use a catchier term).

The stare is the feeling those eyes project, the unnerving sense that they observe and analyze everything around them. That they can see into your soul, through and past you, and against your will can unearth your sins. That they know what makes you tick and just what buttons to push. That they know something you don't. It's in equal parts mysterious and alluring and intimidating as fuck. It's psychic damage, a feeling of exposure, a gaze that can make you squirm and stammer and reveal your secrets. Eyes that see everything but reveal nothing about the mind of their bearer.

Since I like to try to ground my theories in at least a crumb of source material, this ties in also to Near's comments in the C-Kira one shot where he said the reason L singled out himself and Mello and chose them as his potential successors was because of how they observe, and "the nasty look in our eyes".

In conclusion: Near has grey eyes, and Mello's are blue. But they are both distinctly L's.

Once we’re seated and buckled, Lex turns to me to begin her interrogation before I even have a chance to pull out of the parking garage. “Okay, so, first things first, did you sleep with him?”

I glance over at her, surprised by her question. I figured that was implied considering we left the club together last night and I didn’t come home until this afternoon, but good for her for not making assumptions, I guess. “Yeah, I did,” I say, fighting a losing battle with the smile spreading across my face. 

She smacks me in the arm and gasps, “Really? How was it?”

This really isn’t the part of the night that I need to talk through, but I allow myself a moment to think about it anyway. I prop my arm up on the door so I can rest my head against my hand. My hair feels clean and soft, and still smells faintly of his shampoo, sparking a memory of running my hands over his body in the shower. The image makes my stomach flutter, and my voice comes out a little dreamy when I speak, “It was amazing.”

“Amazing? Well, I’m going to have follow-up questions.”

“And I won’t be answering any of those questions.”

“Ugh, fine,” she rolls her eyes in mock annoyance, “So, then what happened? How did things go from ‘amazing’ to you sobbing into my shoulder and getting snot all over my jacket?”

“I don’t know. Like, the whole night was great. It was fun, and he was so sweet, and it really felt like… It wasn't just a hook up, it was more than that. Or at least I thought so. Maybe I was just projecting or seeing what I wanted to see because I… fuck, I’m so embarrassed… whatever, I kinda put myself out there today, really thinking he’d reciprocate, but—”

“He didn’t?”

“No.”

“What did he say?”

“Same thing he always says. He doesn’t want to date me because we work together. He just wants to be friends. I don’t know, maybe I’m the asshole. How many times does he have to tell me he just wants to be friends? And I’m over here like, ‘are you sure? how ‘bout now?’ What the fuck is wrong with me? I need to stop.”

“Babe, c’mon, I think you’re being too hard on yourself. I know you. You wouldn’t do that if you didn’t really believe he felt the same way. And I’ve seen the way he looks at you, you’re not imagining it. Sounds to me like he’s saying one thing but acting another and he’s fucking with your head and that’s not okay. If he truly wants to be your friend, then he needs to act like a friend, and he’s not. If you ask me, he’s the asshole, and you deserve a hell of a lot better.”

“I hear you; I do. He’s not an asshole, though. He’s really not. I think maybe it’s more complicated than that. Like, he was so kind, and affectionate… I really felt like he cared. And then today, he just looked so sad when I was leaving. You know how he does sometimes. But I’ve never seen him more down than he looked today, and my heart just, I don’t know, I just want to take that sadness away. I feel like I could make him happy if he’d let me.”

“Careful, Ash. Don’t do that. Don’t fall into that trap of thinking you can rescue him or fix him or something. That’s some toxic co-dependent shit. Pretty sure you get enough of that with your sister.”

“Ow.” Leave it to Lex to stab you in the heart with her honesty. I respect it, but that doesn’t make it hurt any less. 

“Did you or did you not drop everything to rush out to the Bay to help her the second she asked?”

“Yes, but—”

“Are your parents home?”

“Yes.”

“So, in theory, they could help her with her baby furniture or whatever today?”

I let her words sink in. I’ve gotten better at setting boundaries with Iris, but apparently, I still have some work to do. It didn’t even feel like an option to say no to her today, but now that seems ridiculous. Now, I wish I hadn’t rushed out on Atlas. Maybe we could’ve had a nice day together. Maybe I wouldn’t have made a fool of myself if I wasn’t so frazzled and trying to make everyone happy all at once. Damn. “I hate it when you’re right.”

“I know.”

“I don’t think I’m doing that with Atlas though. Like, sure, I want to make him happy when he’s sad, and maybe I overestimate my ability to do so, but I’ve never felt a need to ‘save’ him or whatever. It’s not like that. I just… I like him so much, Lex. I really do. I love spending time with him. And I love the way he makes me feel when we’re together. I could’ve sworn he felt the same way. I mean, just the way he…” my voice trails off as I remember all the ways he looked at me and smiled at me and kissed me and touched me, and then his words “Ash, you’re perfect, you know that?”, and the tenderness in his voice and in his eyes when he said it. The sweet way he kissed my forehead in the bathroom. The way he held me as we slept.

“The way he what? Hello? Where did you go?”

“You know what? I’m not fucking crazy. I’m not. I know he feels it too. So, maybe he really is just super weird about dating people he works with. I mean, on paper it seems logical, right? To not mix your professional life with your romantic one?”

“I don’t know. I guess? What are you getting at?”

“Well, it’s an easy enough obstacle to remove, don’t you think?”

“You’re gonna quit your job over a guy you’ve only known a few months?”

“Why not? It’s better than giving up on a great guy over some job I've only had a few months. I’m not just gonna quit though, don’t worry. I’ll get something else lined up first. But I have a decent portfolio. I don’t think it’ll be that hard.”

“Okay. Well, what if it doesn’t work? What if he’s full of shit, making excuses? What if you leave for him and he still just wants to be friends.”

“Honestly, at this point, if there’s any chance of me being his friend, I think I’ll need some distance for a while to get over him. And also, if I call his bluff and tell him I’m going to quit, and he still doesn’t want to be with me, then hopefully he’ll at least have the decency to tell me the real reason why. Otherwise, maybe I shouldn’t even try being his friend. Maybe, in that case, I’d have to face that he’s not who I thought he was and move on. But I won’t be able to do that unless I know for sure. So yeah, the more I think about it, this seems like the obvious solution regardless of the outcome.”

She pouts at me, clearly not happy, but she doesn’t have an argument against it, so she concedes, “I hate it when you’re right.”

“I know.” I reach over and hold her hand, giving it a little squeeze. “Sorry about your jacket.”

She smiles at that, “It’s okay. Do you feel better at least?”

“Yeah, I do.”

“Worth it then.”

The Glitch Demon | Hazbin Hotel AU Fanart

Back in 2016-2017, my DeviantART account was about YouTubers, mostly about @therealjacksepticeye and his alter ego, Antisepticeye. This fan phase died down for years until last year when I heard the Hazbin Hotel show's last song, especially Alastor's part (the original and one with Sean's voice), which screamed Anti for me. The lore may be totally changed for Anti (I mean the Iris Project video), but in the old times, he was like a demon trapped inside Sean and was determined to take over his body no matter what. Those little times when he could take over, he was always threatening the audience and repeatedly said that he had no strings on him, and you can't stop him - which was technically wasn't true in my opinion. Okay, sometimes there was some strange stuff in Sean's uploading, and people were afraid that maybe making fun of Anti would have serious consequences, but nothing happened. I mean, he hurt some of the Egos...welp, Anti tried his best to make us afraid.

I can imagine that he could only do so little because he was bound to Sean, and it shrunk his true powers to a minimum. So these lyrics really fit him. Also if he is truly a demon and not a sinner, I can totally picture him in the Greed ring. Not just because I drew green flames, but he wants to have everything to himself, wants full control over everything, he wants power...this is a pretty greedy thing to think about. 

Also, if you couldn't tell by now, Anti and Alastor have the same type of energy for me, even though in the past Anti was that really aggressive and psychopathic freak and while now looks like he is more laid back (which is kinda more threatening in my opinion) still have the same energy.  To give more seriousness and deepness to this scene, in the current theories Anti is the reason for the death of Chase's family. We don't know how he did that (possessing Chase or on his own) but I can imagine Anti showing up and kindly asking about Chase's family like nothing happened to them (with a psychopathic grin). I want to think that he is THAT fucked up.

If you don't know what is the Iris Project, I can highly recommend it, but first, watch the video called simply Chase. Both of them are connected to each other and could be fun for even the ones who don't know about Jacksepticeye's egos. These videos are the cannon ones so you slowly get to know the characters.

finals are kicking my ass sorry about dissapearing yall,,, but since i've spent sm time in campus these past few weeks this seemed fitting

kentin: vet studies or physiotherapy (iwaizumi hajime, 27)

nathaniel: i'm between med school at the beggining of the game but also a double degree in criminology and psychology for his detective-novella-loving side

castiel: starts off in some kind of sound engineering course but wouldn't mind music theory or smth along those lines (he'd eventually drop out to create a band anyway)

armin: game tech design, cs, some kind of cs engineering idk i'm not into techy stuff (sorry ;;) maybe cybersecurity stuff

alexy: he enjoys music and fashion but i see him going into a career in psychology or maybe even as a social worker working on cases of children and adoption

lysander: lowkey ornithology LMAO all jokes,,, he's the type to go into latin studies with ancient history and a sprinkle of literature studies all together and then become an author in the future (maybe acts as a ghost writer for castiel and other groups as a side thing)

kim: is it insane to say some masters in primary education or pedagogy?? i feel that she kinda becomes more serious about studies by the end of the game and she realises that all she needed was a better school system to believe in her

in anyway she opens up a gym and creates a special area all for classes with children where they can 'blow off steam'

violette: gets a full ride scholarship to many distinguished fine arts courses but it ends up being her making her teachers realise that they are learning more from her than anything else - also opens up a 'common space' for artists of all ages and backgrounds to have access to all sorts of art materials as a non profit project but makes a living out of commissions, expo's and teaching at her local community college

iris: i see her going into the tourism sector?? like - gets a quick professional formative course in hospitality, tourism and administration and leaves as soon as she can to travel around the world and adopt the odd job wherever she lands, she was never good at studies but she's known for being a very trustworthy tourist guide and vacation planner because she knows so damn much about all the places that she's worked in

melody: something in biological sciences is what i envision (idc if she works with zaidi in UL this game is MY CANON now)

priya: no doubt law studies she was made for it

peggy: again, obvious choice. journalism and something in social media maybe

rosa: helps out leigh with his shop for a short while but opens up her own fashion store and works as a fashion consultant for various clients

li: something business-econ related, idk

charlotte: also a business girlie but maybe with some studies in finance

amber: modelling gigs, slight nepotism because of her mother's influence

Considering we don't know what happened to Alayna, his new Gallifreyan companion, this is an incredibly incomplete list of his adventures during this time before he went back for Nyssa and Tegan.
