Since my table's Cyberpunk RED game is gonna be on hiatus for the foreseeable future(burnout). I thought it would be a good time to finally re-stud that battle jack I've put on the back burner. Thankfully, the fabric I used held well, but I might sand away the lettering; I'm not feeling it.

the dance card scene from htn is so funny because magnus is like "you have to move on, harrow. it's what gideon would want you to do 🥺" and it's like. gideon would not fucking say that. girl is on the other side of the river completely incensed that harrow chose to lobotomize herself and forget about gideon completely instead of grovelling and sobbing over gideon's sacrifice every waking moment for the rest of her infinite immortal life. gideon wanted harrow's fucking life ruined forever by the sheer agony of missing her. gideon wanted harrow to be miserable over her death until the universe un-big banged itself. "she would want you to move on" no she fucking would not and that's kind of the whole point LMFAO

for every instance of someone online whinging about how, no, they can't do X because of Y legal consequences, there's someone else who is doing it anyway. the only things you can't do are breaking the laws of physics. you don't want to take those legal risks; that is a choice you are making, and other people make different choices!

like you don't even have to pretend it's categorically impossible. i imagine most people would accept "i don't want to go to prison" as a reasonable excuse not to do something. but stop pleading helplessness and accept that you are making a choice that needs to be justified!

Highlights of the “In-Character” portion of the Project Eden’s Garden AMONG US stream in no particular order:

Damon introducing himself as “the Ultimate Debater. A prodigy among prodigies. Someone who simply can’t be outmatched.” And everyone going dead silent before making fun of his egotistical ass

Eva hiding in the corner of the waiting room

Diana going to the corner of the waiting room with Eva to keep her company

Kai being the reason the stream started late because he couldn’t decide the perfect look for his Among Us character

All their little characters matching them so well; Wolfgang in a little suit, Grace with bunny ears, Wenona with bear ears, Tozu’s goat horns, etc, and Eva just having absolutely nothing on

Wolfgang and Jean not knowing how to play video games and just doing their best

How utterly excited Tozu is that everyone is playing a killing game and he gets to play too

Damon yelling OH GOD DAMMIT so bad the mic reverberated after Wolfgang killed him

Wolfgang being imposter, killing everyone, and going “that was fun! 🙂”, followed by Jean going “I didn’t know you had it in you!” and Wolfgang replying with “I didn’t know I had it in me either 🙂”

Ulysses mention that apparently in-world he was supposed to attend but overslept (possible explanation that is why Wenona attended)

Kai and Damon sticking together and doing tasks and everyone going “yeah okay”

^^^ My personal favourite is Cassidy telling everyone to come look at them doing tasks together on the cameras and Jean going “oh so those two were off canoodling somewhere”

Cassidy being the kind of Among Us player who bets everything on “you’ll be sorry” or “do it then” and expects it to work and is shocked every time when it doesn’t

Tozu dying early on in every game

Damon catching an imposter in a lie by saying he couldn’t have been the killer, because he was with “Kai, his very good friend”

Jean saying “a princess has to look her best” when Cassidy makes fun of Kai taking too much time in customization menu and then adding “welcome back princess” when Kai finished

Wolfgang hitting Damon with “it’s just a game” when Damon was locked the fuck in on busting Wolfgang as imposter

Diana going for Tozu first as imposter and still being an absolutely terrible liar

Cassidy correct guessing Damon as the imposter begging him loudly not to kill her in voice proximity, so he actually can’t kill her anymore, so instead he scoffs and goes “wish” before trotting off

Damon being revealed as imposter last minute and Eva yelling about how she trusted him. Kai also being there.

Grace and Wenona very clearly not knowing how the game works but refusing to admit it

IT'S DONE. MY BOOKBOUND PHYSICAL HGCZ GOLDEN ERA. if you have read hgcz read it NOW. literally right now you can find it at @hotguycomiczine it will change your life

i've been working on this since january (mostly due to the budgeting issues involving printing), and i believe have just narrowly completed this in a shorter timeframe than the actual zine (sheer embarrassment for taking so long was a great motivation). and YES i found out there was an official physical edition in production about 90% of the way through

i did draw a new cover and design a book jacket for golden era! i've never done something like that before so it was a great challenge

genuinely, hgcz might be one of the greatest pieces of art to ever come out of a fandom. i absolutely loved like. everything about the overarching story and all the details that went into this i could ramble on for hours. i have so sososo much more respect for everyone who worked on this now that i tried creating smth adjacent. this whole project, especially as a fandom related collaborative effort, is just incredible to me

there's a lot of stuff i tried to put into the golden era cover

i really liked the original wormtime cover, so the colors are very inspired by that

photograph meant to show the duo at the beginning of Golden Era, for the contrast with isjasz's polaroid by Legacy

hg is angling the camera to catch himself first and foremost, cg being in there is almost an afterthought. he's still a prideful guy!

speaking of which, they're angled away from each other as they're still not fully working together as a team

cuteguy and hotguy designs a mashup of several creators (particularly tibby-art for cuteguy and chrisrin for hotguy)

cg's eyes are visible but hg's visor hides his

hg's scars are also slightly visible as reflections, including a harsh reflection across his left eye. hmmm..

my hotguy and cuteguy refs for the cover. you can see which other artists from hgcz i took inspiration from i think

i had. so many issues. with the physical pages. sometimes my spacing would be off and some parts of the comic would get cut off and i'd have to go buy them again (i don't have a color printer). and i couldn't afford to buy all 172 pages at once so i split the trips up biweekly. anyway it was just a whole process. i ended up with so many offprints i had enough to bookbind an extra hgcz scraps book.

idk if anyone has said this yet but I was thinking about that unicorn machete you drew a while back at the same time as I was thinking of the new wind ancient in FR (as opposed to…doing class work. Anywho) and realized that machete would make for such a great cirrus. imo at least

i really do think there’s a huge disconnect on here w/ people who have never used tiktok as to what it actually is and who actually uses it. the number of people i’ve seen call it a “teen dancing app” is actually insane. it has not been a teen dancing app since i was in high school, around 2016 - 2020. the main communities i saw on a daily basis were 1) black history/anti-racism educators, 2) high school & college teachers sharing in-classroom strategies and frustrations with the education system, 3) local/state political leaders giving real-time updates on behind-the-scenes government decisions, & 4) community activism & leadership. like tiktok is an adult platform. almost every person i interacted with was my age or older. and yes it completely depends on your fyp and how you interact with the app, yes there’s still teenagers and dance videos and literally anything else you can think of. but these communities of adults aren’t insubstantial at all, they have literally millions of interactions on a daily basis. there’s about a million other types of communities that i could name just off the top of my head, because the range of users was SO diverse and thriving. it’s a long-distance community tool, just like any other social media—and honestly much better than any other social media, because it relies primarily on the kindness of strangers. i saw at least 5-10 videos today of queer people in rural areas panicking because they don’t have any access to queer community on any other platform or in real life. and before i end this i do want to say i think tiktok is coming back, i think this is a highly orchestrated political move, etc., but i do know it won’t ever be exactly the same. people are panicking about free speech violations because tiktok was a place where people fucking SPEAK. i have never seen mass mobilization and communication in this same way for as long as i’ve been alive. it is the people’s app, not just a silly teenage thing. if you’re not on tiktok and never have been, please stop talking about it like you know anything at all😭
