Zivs Herb-Armory

Since Ziv always carries a lot of Samples of herbs, mosses, barks and molds with her, this is the Headcanon based List of her "Armory” that had already appeared in Theards or will appear in Theards. 99% Headcanon, since the List of Plants on Wookiepedia is not that long.  This post will be added to over the run-time of the Blog!

Red Mold: A invading Mold that once appeared on Ships and since then spread through the whole Galaxis. It grows on the rests of fat, hair and skin Cells that stick over years on the walls of Spaceships. Usually its a sign for Pilots that the Ship had not been cleaned regulary and the owner of the ship is a lazy bastardt and does not want to pay for a Cleaning-Droid. The mold can cause allergic reactions in the swelling of the nasal mucosa which leads to a running nose, sniffs, reddening of the eyes, coughing and headaches.  Dried the mold is a very strong antiseptic and can be used on open wounds to avoid gangrene, inflammation and infections. It is good to clean open, bleeding wounds.

Bachani- Petals: Known for its medical properties and very lucrative on the Black Market. Bachani works in reducing fever, sucking out the heat of inflammation out of the body and speeding up the normal bodyhealing. The Petals cooked to a mush and smeared on a broken limb will help healing  the broken bone from the outside and avoid swelling and iflammation in the flesh around  the broken bone. 

Voss-Bark: The Bark grows on slender, pale trees on the stepps of Voss. Due to their pale bark they are also calles Bone-Trees. The Bark can be taken off in long scraps and Ziv uses it as bandages as the tree produces antifungal,antibacterial and antinsectual  triterpene like Betulin too keep fungi, bacteria and bugs away from living on the tree. It would be the equivalent to Birch-Bark that had been used since the stoneage as bandages. 

Resin: Used as a Liquid Bandage to hold the edges of a wound together for better healing and smaller scars, but also stop germs and dirt from entering the wound. Zivs momentary jar of Resin is from a tree of Kashyyyk as this had for now worked the best for her. 

Red Moss: A invading plant, carried accidently by Pilots from Planet to Planet. Usually it grows anywhere, where there is enough clean Water. The Moss sucks the nutrients out of the earth and stores it in itself. Since the Moss is full of nutrients, it is usually added to the food, energyballs and energybars of Pilots and Travlers on Spacestations and Ports since with it the sideeffects of permanent spacetravel like bones turning brittle, blood losing iron, body loosing water, muscles growing weak, the immunesystem shutting down can be worked against. Due to its high ironlevel the Moss excretes a thick, red liquid that looks like blood. When eaten without any other food it tastes horrible bitter due to its high ironlevel and might cause a little nausea. 

Toola-Thistle: Toola is the icy Homeworld of the Whipids. The Thistle usually lays dorment, only to grow explosively the mere second it comes in touch with a heat of at least  600° Celsius which is in most cases the equivalent of a candlelight or a blasterfire. In the Clone Wars Ziv had watched how a Clonetrooper had thrown a fistbig ball of Toola-Thistle into a Spider-Droid and shot after it. The Thistle had stuck in one of the Droids joints and then promptly grown with the heat of the blasterfire to dislocate the droids joints and then rip appart the whole droid with its growing branches. Since then Ziv keeps a few small balls of the Thistle with her, in case she needs to dislocate droid limbs.  Whipids know that they better keep the thistle away from the Planets Hot Springs, unless those will end up beeing overgrown in a few seconds. 

Grenade-Fungi: Small to a ball pressed fungi, that will explode when burning. they are used in some Grenades. Just because Ziv is a Healer, does not mean she can not defend herself or be a lethal opponent. Do not fuck with a Botanist. 

Namana-Petals: Namana fruit is part of many sweets, liquors and wines. Ziv usually broils up the Petals with Water in a tea that calms the nerves and makes people feel “good, safe and calm”. It first tastes burning and spicy but becomes fruity after the second gulp.  It may be the equivalent of camomile-tea. It is safe to drink,but as Namana stimulates the Pleasure-Centers of a Humanoids brain, it can turn slightly addictive when consumed in very high dosis over a longer time.  Since Ziv as a Tynnan is naturally a carnivore, she has problems disgesting the high fruitsugar in Namana-Fruits and therefor avoids the sweets and wine and only occasionally drinks the tea.  Dried Naboo-Lavender: A strong calmative. As Ziv usually dopes herself with herbal stimultants, she takes in a few drops of the in oil turned to a Tincture Lavender in the evening to sleep, compensate for the effect of the stimulants and calm her heartrate. It also helps against the Sympthomes of Space-Sickness Ziv expierences regulary. 

Mandalorian Moss: Growing under layers of dead earth  in dry Steppes the Moss will eagerly suck every kind of liquid inside and close it in itself. It is used to neutralize poisons taken in through the mouth, as the Moss will suck in the liquid poison in the persons stomach and shield it from the Persons System. It also is used to suck in alcohol in alcoholpoisoning.  When swallowed It feels like one had swallowed a very big, heavy stone and it will continue feeling like this until the Mossball went through ones system naturally after one or two days. It is a very, very, very uncomfortable expierence.

“Miswāk” Branches: Pieces of wood that have a high antibacterial effect and Medical properties. Usually they are chewed on to clean the teeth, by cleaning the foodrests from between the teeth and killing bacteria with its medical properties. If you would have teeth that could crack fingerbones like brittle branches, you would take good care of them with Miswāk-wood too.

AyyAyy: The Reeksa Sproutling Ziv had been given by her Master in the AgriCorps. Still happily growing in the Transperisteel-Container and always ready to bite off some fingers.
