why do you think bucktommy has been "hitting differently"? i love them don't get me wrong, but i don't think it's been written much differently than buck's previous love interests (yet)
Hi anon,
I don't think I agree with you there. Well, first of all I think talking about all of Buck's previous romantic relationships as one thing is doing injustice to those different arcs and Buck's character journey. All served different purposes, all were written differently from each other. When I make the distinction that BuckTommy has been "hitting differently" what I mean is that it has what worked in those previous relationships as well as what was lacking. And I think the reason is twofold: the writers being intentional with their choices and how it's all been executed.
Intention:
Just to be clear, I don't mean anyone has had endgame BuckTommy intentions. Tim has been very clear about how he doesn't plan that far ahead and it's hard to talk endgames with a procedural format like this. But we know they wrote the bi Buck arc with more care, hence being more intentional with their choices than some of his previous relationships. We know that their first kiss had taken multiple shapes before it ended up being this gentle, surprising but still mutual kiss. We know that they wanted to create a story where Buck felt connected to this guy but also safe and light. We know that they wanted to make Tommy a character who can be understanding and lead Buck as he stumbles. We know that Tim thought Lou's buy was important because he didn't want to repeat the same mistake of creating a LI who didn't fit with the rest of the cast etc.
Now you can say some of these fit previous LIs one way or another but it brings me to execution:
Many people talked about this before me, obviously, but I think the execution of everything they planned with Tommy has been great. I mean before their first kiss, this guy goes out of his way and shows up at Buck's to "clean the air" with this virtual stranger because he believes he caused bad blood between him and his friend. Not just that, he reassures Buck about his place in his friend's life and apologizes for making him feel excluded. Now as the audience we know Buck is the kid who'd get hurt on purpose so his dad would pay him attention, he's the guy who sued the fire department because he felt pushed out and isolated, but Tommy doesn't. I think an LI addressing one of Buck's core insecurities in such a direct and reassuring manner before even knowing him is a great way to set up why Buck would feel safe with and understood by him.
Another is that Tommy immediately meets Buck at that vulnerable place when he admits to being jealous of the 118's bond and Buck reassures him back. This for example, is something Abby had done with Buck imo but Buck back then didn't know himself enough to embrace his own insecurities and at a maturity level to address Abby's despite his best intentions. With Taylor, their whole issue was that they couldn't be honest and vulnerable with each other. BuckTommy in this aspect feels different because from the get-go as they're being honest and are on the same frequency when it comes to this.
Episode five, we see them on their failing date, then we see Buck being nervous that he fucked it up in the coffee scene. We've seen this Buck before, when he got into that anxious mode to make sure Abby knew he wasn't cheating on her. Obviously, the context and the stage of the relationship are very different and they both reassure Buck about it not being his fault. Great on both Tommy and Abby.
But then, the immediate follow-up in Abby's case is that she's leaving for abroad. I don't think Abby is being evil or mean with this decision (where I have a problem with is when she starts ghosting him and doesn't just end it, but that's another topic) but again knowing what we know about Buck as the audience, we know this is a big deal. We know this - and later Ali leaving - adds on his issues of feeling like he's not worth it, we know it leads to him basically trapping Taylor because he's so afraid she'll leave. Again, Tommy doesn't. But Tommy gives him a second chance and then shows up at the wedding.
You can say showing up on one date is not proof that Tommy will always be there for Buck, but I think the execution is so good in painting Tommy as very reliable concerning this. Because Tommy doesn't just show up. If the writers' only concern was to write Tommy out of the A plot of episode 6, he could just come to the ceremony and be like "my shift just ended". No, Tommy says he'll try his damnest to make it to the wedding and then he enters the hospital all rushed, haphazard, covered in soot, hair a mess. The dramatique of that entrance immediately validates in the audiences' mind that yeah this is a guy who will do his damnest to be there for Buck. It, again, addresses a core insecurity of Buck's.
Back half of the season doesn't do anything different but we again see Tommy notice Buck's emotional state, meet him in that vulnerable place, and also match his flirty vibe. They're comfortable; it feels earned even in such a short span because of the well execution of their initial arc. This to me what Buck said about Natalia when they thought the show wasn't coming back (and before that relationship was recontextualized as being a dud), about how he feels seen and comfortable etc. Only this time, there's intention, effort, and execution.
One final note in execution - and this is very ymmv because I've seen even from some BuckTommys that they wished they did this differently - I genuinely love how little BuckTommy there is in 7x03. More specifically, I love that Tommy's reintroduction to the series is not through being Buck's potential love interest. He's there in that episode for Hen, Chim, and Bobby. In 10 mins screentime he's quickly established with motives and personality quirks, is involved in the main plot, bounces off of other characters. Again, great execution of a thing Tim intended to do: a love interest who can fill more roles than just the love interest. This basically makes him in his own category in how purposeful and functional he can be as a character in the greater narrative. So yeah I think both as a person in-story and a character, Tommy has been hitting different.
#very long answer lol couldnt stop yapping about tommy sorry my bad#mimi talks#bucktommy#911#tevan#kinley#also ill get to all the other asks i promise#mimi.txt

At first I thought that moment during the mirror scene where Colin pulls back and tells Pen to stop him if she doesn’t want to go further was just important because the show is taking consent more seriously since messing it up in S1.
Bridgerton Spoilers Below:
But now I realize it’s important context that people are missing out on when it comes to the “planned entrapment” moment later when he’s upset.
I keep seeing people mad at him for saying that, and yeah it seems harsh until you really think of Colin’s pov. Here’s a guy who has already been caught up in an entrapment scheme, who’s felt the embarrassment of that once already, who found love with someone who made him want to tear off his armor and be himself and be wholly open and vulnerable with her, and he gives himself to her. He checks in with her every step of the way, because his biggest desire- his literal dream fantasy- is to feel that Penelope is on the same level as him, that everything is reciprocal. He waits for her to say she wants him back and to nod in the carriage, he waits for her to say yes keep going in the mirror, he asks her if she’s ready for the next step even when he’s literally naked and on top of her.
He gave Penelope multiple opportunities to stop him and he always backed off and respected her wishes when he did feel like he was overstepping her boundaries. He senses something is wrong with Penelope at different points post-carriage scene, and even checks in with her about that, afraid that he’s moving too fast for her and that she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings and just got carried away and doesn’t want him back. Penelope had chances to tell him herself and did not.
And then he finds out that the openness he felt with her was not reciprocated. That she’d been holding back and keeping secrets. That she didn’t trust him with all of her the way he trusted her with all of him. And because Pen didn’t tell him herself he has no way of knowing if she ever planned on telling him. She could’ve told him before she published a Whistledown column saying they were engaged. She could’ve stopped him before they had sex. She could’ve pulled him aside the same time she pulled Eloise aside when they panicked about Cressida (right before he caught her), to finally bring Colin into a situation that was rapidly spiraling out of control. She could’ve written Colin a letter since writing connects them, and she might’ve been able to express herself fuller on paper. Penelope made a huge mistake - can we just admit that sometimes Penelope’s problems are caused by Penelope’s actions? - and Colin felt betrayed by it. He realized this was weighing over them the whole time, and it hurts. It triggers everything in Colin that makes him feel useless, naive, foolish- all of his insecurities since he got tricked and then called a childish boy who needs to wake up back in S1/S2- and this time at the hands of the one person who he loves more than anyone else in the world. And who he STILL loves, which is why it hurts him so bad to think that she thought she couldn’t be honest with him.
So of course his mind went there, to entrapment. Is it nice? No, but neither is writing an article belittling Colin so all of society could read it which is something Penelope did in the heat of the moment because she was upset with Colin. To see this as Penelope AND Colin’s story (which it is) it’s important to not dismiss Colin’s POV and to have empathy for it. He’s not the bad guy. And Penelope isn’t the bad girl. They’re both just kind of messy, imperfect people. Literally almost- She’s his mess and he’s the imperfect man of her heart. Soulmates.

Hii!! I was thinking about buck and the concept of home and his different romantic relationships with it cause i realized with buck asking tmmy to live together they established a patern that was already there of course but well, this being the last one and having this patern aswell, it settles it in my mind. We know it was there with abby obviously he moved into her house, then with ali she helped him look for the loft and was supposed to stay there when she was in the city, then taylor where they try to move in together then well everything we know that follows, the couch of it all etc and then natalia where nothing is talked about it in that sense but well him saying lets pick a couch together was pretty much also an implication. Im sorry if you talked about this before but yes i was thinking about this because FICS lol and the connection eddie already has through all of bucks relationships ("this is eddies house im not really a guest") and the potential it could have in the future if they decide to make a direct parallel to abby. Feel free to just send me a link if youve already talked about it. And as always thank you for your insight 💕
Hi darling. I don't think I talked about this all that recently, and if I did I mostly talked about it in the sense that the loft is a symbol of Buck's failed relationships and that I would like it if Buck made the choice to move on his own the last time someone was talking about the loft burning down lol. But yeah, Buck asking Tommy to move in solidified the way Buck jumps because he's scared. It's not something discussed, it's a reaction to something else, I guess with Ali not that much but he did get the place with her in mind and I would assume she decorated it too, that being her job and all. But asking Taylor to move in to trap her with him, asking Tommy to move in because he's insecure, even the couch with Natalia probably would've been explored a bit further if she had stuck around (I will never let go of the conspiracy theory that the Marisol moving in plot was a bucktalia plot they repurposed). The Abby of it all is interesting because he "accidentally" moves in, he is helping her with her mom's death and ends up lingering, so it isn't a conscious choice, it was Buck being all in. And it's interesting that his reaction to feeling insecure in his relationships is that all in movement, because it didn't work before, but he still acts as if making things that serious will make them love.
I am extremely curious about the loft when talking about Buck from now on. Because with the loft being the place Buck's relationships begin and end, the symbolism in the way Ali showed she couldn't handle who he is in there, and Taylor and Tommy kissing him and the respective breakup also happening there, Natalia leaving the dinner date. The choice is not really Buck's. And they use the loft in a very purposeful way on a meta level, even tho there are no walls, there is an obvious divide in the spaces, like the way kitchen, I would say the sides and back of the counter is the space he's comfortable, and it's a space for family, we only see Maddie, Chris, Jee, Eddie, and I think Hen in that space, and the times we see Taylor in it the scene goes south real quick, like when Buck decides she's breaking up with him in 509 and when he tells her about the cheating in 513. The dining room, I would assign the front of the counter and the space with the table, has a lot of more emotionally charged moments but it's a less serious space, it's where Buck keeps most people. The space under the loft is made "for guests" by his mother and it really isn't a space we see Buck a lot in while in a casual mood. The stairs are for uncomfortable truths, like 316 when he's talking about being left behind or when he's waiting for Taylor for the breakup in 518. I'm getting side tracked lol, but the way we now have 3 breakups happening in there is making me eye it. Because the loft is not home, we don't interpret the loft as home. Even going back to 218 when he gets it and the joke Ali makes that he's a "perpetual roommate even in his own place".
And on the other side, we have Eddie's house, "this is Eddie's house, I'm not really a guest", a very interesting line considering at that point we hadn't seen Buck in the house alone, the hangouts we witness are all in the loft, I'm pretty sure the first time we see Buck in the house alone with Eddie and Chris is 403, because 310 has Hen and Denny and 311 is a party, but Buck has a key to the house, we see him in the house when Eddie isn't there, 612 makes a point of showing Buck uncomfortable in his own house just to fall asleep at Eddie's in seconds. He panics and shows up at Eddie's door. So if the speculation is right and Buck ends up at the house after Eddie leaves for Texas it could have some fun connotations for what it means for Buck. Because we did lowkey establish that Buck forces connection by moving in together because "why be apart when they could be together" as if the constant presence is gonna make him feel better, will make the house feel more like home. So what would it mean for him to end up at Eddie's if Eddie isn't there? Would that lead him to the realization that home isn't the house, it is Eddie and Chris and he doesn't need to force that connection? Would it add up to the way he clung to Abby's place because he liked the way she made him feel even though she left him and the house wasn't that anymore? And will that lead to a revelation when Eddie comes back because Abby never did? I don't know if this makes a lot of sense, but let's just say that they used Tommy to solidify most of Buck's bad habits, and one of those is the loft of it all, so something about Buck choosing to leave because he hates that Eddie isn't around anymore and he wants to find him somewhere makes sense to me.
Obviously, there's also the chance of Eddie showing up to the loft and helping change the meaning of it too, but I just have a feeling the houses and the definition of home will play a part in whatever is unfolding.

I've kinda talked about this before but I love how we get to see the Forgers' different ways and levels of keeping secrets and of accepting their place and their love for the family.
Bond is the simplest case. He's not exactly "hiding" his precognition because he has no ways to communicate it to anyone, but rather openly acts on it to protect others. However, upon meeting the family he went like "Good humans. I will love and protecc" and hasn't looked back since.
I would argue that Anya's secrets are bigger than Yor's, for the most part because her powers are constant, and also more invasive in their lives than Yor's secret job. But Anya also immediately accepts Loid and Yor as her parents and calls them Papa and Mama without hesitation because in her mind, they are her parents, end of story. She is the daughter of the Forgers and it's up to her to keep it that way, thus she keeps her powers a secret because she fears that them becoming known would mean the end of the family.
Yor's secret is more indirectly dangerous due to the nature of her job, but also more possible to cause trouble. Anya is not responsible over her powers; Yor chooses to stay an assassin (though with understandable motives behind her choice) and she is fully aware that the moment her real job is revealed she'll have to leave them. At the same time, she feels insecure because for all she knows, Loid is a kind, simple citizen who is unknowingly covering for an assassin and has welcomed her into his home and family, so she feels she needs to always do her best to pay this kindness back. So her accepting her place in the family doesn't come immediately, nor easy. But through the course of the first season, she slowly got to the place of realizing she loves that place enough to be motivated to do her best to keep it, not so much for cover anymore, but because it really is a precious place for her.
And on the far end you have Twilight, who builds this entire family based on lies as a cold, distanced requirement for his mission. He is not supposed to love them, he is not supposed to see any emotional value in his place in the family, and he is not supposed to consider any alternative other than pretending to be Loid Forger for as long as this mission lasts. Despite Anya and Yor having secrets of their own, they are honest about their past and their true characters. But everything about Loid (or almost everything) is a researched, calculated choice. The moments he reveals true parts of himself are a precious few, and come out of him in an attempt to connect with and comfort the others, and rarely benefit the mission directly. He's not only the deepest in on the lying, he's also got the longest road to walk to accept his place in the family and his love for them.
(no spoilers for the manga please)

Albert's Masquerade Ball, his role as a Mastermind and trivialisation by the aristocracy
The Masquerade Ball, about half way through the Scandal of the British Empire arc, is a really cool scene that exemplifies the reasons for the necessity of the Moriarty plan in a way that is specifically designed by Albert, with the intention of helping Irene support their cause and inform him of what her stolen papers contain.
As a reflection of the aristocracy
The Masquerde Ball's activity of the evening is a game, where the Lord of Crime 'kills' people by spilling wine on them and the guests must figure out who he is to save the day. This shows how the nobility have trivialised the concept of the Lord of Crime, turning his genuinely threatening acts into a simple game with a quick solution. They see the Lord of Crime as either a 'gentlemanly criminal', a trend, or simply an illusion to scare others. They, since they feel untouchable due to their wealth, ignore the seriousness of the issue and turn it into an evening jaunt.
The general customs of a Masquerade, as explained in the chapters, is to be unidentifiable and unconventional. They are allowed to be rude or controversial here, but only because it comes at no price to their reputations. It accentuates the surface level nature of nobility, with its focus on reputation and social standing over anything else, including empathy.
The event's 'Lord of Crime', Baron Rollinson, doubts the general existence of a real Lord of Crime whilst essentially masquerading as a satirical take of him. His choice to target Albert for just simply being 'rude' in front of him shows that the nobles are extremely insecure at the slightest hint of dissent, and are willing to go to extreme lengths to stifle it (as seen at many points of the series). In this way, Rollinson also acts as a stand-in for any of the nobles the Moriartys' have targeted - adding to another point related to Albert which I will get to later.
When Rollinson, after being found out as the evening's Lord of Crime, dies of a heart attack, the aristocracy simply brush it off and move on as if nothing happened. This not only simulates their general ignorance and detachment from death and its effects, but their detachment from the Lord of Crime. The Ball's satirical take on the Lord of Crime is a way to reveal their genuine apathy to death and those of lower class, constructed by Albert himself.
Albert as the mastermind of this ball/'play'
Albert is clearly shown to have orchestrated this event down to the smallest detail. He is one of the main sponsors of the event, knows who their 'Lord of Crime' is, knows how to provoke him into being targeted so his meeting with Irene can go ahead, and knows how Rollinson is eventually to die. It's also set up to include a noble who is connected to Irene (since her friend died in a fire that Rollinson started to gain insurance money), and acts as a form of 'society in miniature' to show Irene just how in need of change the world is.
Once they have been targeted and 'killed' by Rollinson's 'Lord of Crime', they have their conversation on the balcony floor above the main ballroom. From there, they can see all the people and events happening from above, as if watching a play. The Moriartys continually mention crime as a performance, and this ball is essentially that but for an audience of two (Albert the creator and Irene the spectator) rather than a mass audience. Being above the main ballroom acts a representation of the way Irene and Albert have differing knowledge that makes them see the nobility through a lense that is more critical of and perhaps morally 'above' the culture of victorian aristocracy. They watch the performance unfold as Irene eventually realises not only the power Albert holds as Em and the Lord of Crime, but also the goals he has in mind - goals that she somewhat agrees with, or can be convinced to agree with.
So what point does Albert make with this? Well, in essence, this whole Masquerade - the representation of aristocratic society, the power of the Lord of Crime, the issues in society that need to be fixed - it is all in an effort to get Irene to side with them. Albert sees Irene as a useful asset with not only the papers she possesses, but her own skills and goals in changing society to be less classist too. Albert specifically mentions her successor, Martina Meier (who was murdered for simply being working class and successful in the acting/performance industry), as what pushed Irene into extortion of the rich - and shows her a taste of a more permanent solution to what she has being trying. It is Albert's knowledge of Irene's past and friends that helps him truly win her over, tailoring a situation and noble victim to her experiences.
But the event is also in itself generalisable to any noble who has committed evil acts. Rollinson (as mentioned) could act as representation of any noble, and the method of death (heart attack) is much reminiscent of Chapter 2's Baron Dublin's death. In this way, whilst the plot has many personal relations to Irene, it is also able to be seen as generalisable enough where she can see how it may affect many other of the 'evil nobles' the Moriartys target. She can see the usefulness and possible future targeting of the plan through Albert's 'play'.
So, Albert has created a performance that acts as somewhat of a mini test run of the idea of 'crime as a performance', tailored to one specific person as a recruitment tool. Albert has proved himself to be a mastermind of crime and also persuasion, and they have managed to progress their goal of removing 'rotten nobles' in the process. And it's all executed in such a gripping and interesting way, which I adore.
[I freaking love this scene man. Perhaps one of the best Albert centric plots if not THE best. It's all so interesting in the way it's staged and what it says about society, Albert and also Irene. There was probably more I could mention but it's nearly 11pm and I am tired. I hope to make more of these as I reread the manga from time to time, to talk more about scenes that deserve analysis. This part is Volume 6, or Scandal of the British Empire Act 4-5 specifically.]

in another ask u said that reader feeds into his insecurities and worsens his abandonment issues could u explain it more? also loved how we got to know reader more in the last chapter it helps build character and made me think abt how much deep the reveal is gonna be (angst coming? 👀). tnks for the food💕
the angst will be coming! and they will be miscommunicating so much more than they are right now! im excited because ch8 is significant to establish the reader's motive >:) but to answer your question...
SUMMARY:
all will be revealed as the story progresses >:) i was intentionally vague in that ask because it hasnt been revealed in the story yet what caused you two to fall nearly out years ago, but that said im a yapper HAHAHA
your role as his childhood friend is significant bc u are tied to his past in japan, a place and culture he has very conflicting feelings about
he thinks you don't need him in your life esp because you're so confusing and indecisive about what you want from him
you both were very toxic for eo during your situationship.
If you want to see me yap about Kenji's abandonment and attachment issues, keep reading.
There is narrative purpose as to why I figured a childhood friend would fit in well with Ultraman: Rising's plot in itself
the movie is very family-centric, and a lot of how kenji achieves peace with himself in the film is by reconnecting with the past, be it his family or the culture he left behind
while i figured that it would be fun to write a reluctant team-up to lovers, bc ill be able to play around w kenji's personality pre-Emi, i also didnt see the place of a romance forming while he's struggling being a single mom
but i also wanted the story to take place during the movie's run bc i wanted to include Emi since she plays a big part in us learning who Ken is, so writing a fic that starts after the film didnt feel in the cards for me
since kenji grows as a person by the end of the film through making peace with his conflicting identities and his tumultuous past, i thought having a childhood best friend would make sense since i dont think he has the space to introduce anyone new in his life
bc reader is a childhood friend who he is meant to be close to, i cant write kenji interacting with reader the same way he is at the start of the film because there is a familiarity that breaks down his walls— which caused me to have a dilemma about how to characterize him
it also made me a bit sad that i cant write full-on ken sato the "egomaniac" bc i think thatll be fun since he's such a boyfailure
but that means that we see a softer ken when he interacts with reader, someone who is a bit more vulnerable with showing that he strives for further connections in his life even if he wants to look like he can do it all by himself
Kenji feels alone and disconnected from everyone, including you
it's also clear to the audience that kenji doesnt have any friends, and anyone he's friendly with is probably friends with him on a surface level. Ami states in their first interview that he is known as someone who keeps others at a distance, and who is untouchable
the team behind Ultraman: Rising did state that there is a deleted scene where he is clubbing, which is meant to show that he feels alone even in a sea of bodies. and his dad in the movie isnt surprised that he is throwing parties at his house, so it just clues us in that he probably lived life with very shallow connections and has filled his time with materialistic pursuits (e.g. his car collection...what he need a mclaren for)
i decided to make the reader someone from the 1% for two reasons: first being so that i can explain why her and kenji meet up over the years (i see a lot of friends who migrated to north america only once a year and we're still close!), and second, because i wanted you to be on the same playing field if not higher playing field than him.
Ken puts up the front that he doesn't need anyone else, but he is insecure about how he thinks you don't need him.
bc u have ur own things going on!! u have ur own friends
what makes it worse is that u genuinely think that kenji is the same. u think that since he's very successful, he would have his own thing
i havent touched up on it much yet, but it's very evident to kenji that you will readily pick yourself over him, which isn't a bad thing but it reminds him when his dad picked Ultraman over keeping his family together
ken feels like he can never be anyone's first choice or priority, and your situationship messes this up further
I haven't touched much on what happened between them yet in the story because it's building up to it, but
it soon feels for ken that youre only seeking him out on convenience. that he doesnt matter to you beyond what his body can do for you
bc spoiler: you are the villain in the situationship! you're the one who insists that everything is casual yet you keep the line blurry
^ karma is gonna get to u soon in the main storyline ure gonna be dry heaving when u realize u actually do want something with him
your constant back and forth with him will be revealed in the flashbacks... you not wanting more than a casual relationship yet youre talking abt what it would be like if you two got married???
Spoiler but during the situationship years, you're also the first one to say "I Love You" ROMANTICALLY yet youll later on backtrack and say that you didnt mean it in that way
can you blame him for getting confused and insecure about where you stand and whether or not he actually matters to anyone.
it doesnt help that his presence in your life is actively harming your reputation and career.
in ch8, it's briefly mentioned that ur media hate train is caused by ppl who are paying for bad press abt u starting from when you were 18. if you remember ch3-4, kenji freaks out abt a new article abt u two, and ch6 he was conscious of what others were saying.
one thing i want to elaborate in a separate post is that ken is AVOIDANT ATTACHMENT and reader is written to have DISORGANIZED ATTACHMENT.
Even if Kenji is avoidant due to his trauma of abandonment (e.g. self-reliant, avoids social connections), he can't help but yearn to be with you
so it's so confusing to him bc with everyone else, he would want to leave first. and he's close to leaving you so many times
yet you keep making these promises, saying sweet things about how much you need him, that he cant help but get roped into it a bit
When he is younger, he's fully aware that it is not a healthy mindset, but even if you're just using him at least it means that he still gets to be in your life. It makes him feel needed.
in the present timeline, sometimes those thoughts definitely cross his mind but at present he is focusing on maintaining the boundary you guys set about strictly being friends
So far I hope you caught in the story [as of ch8] from the subtext or dialogue that
in the present timeline, you are both 26 years old
the situationship started when you were 16 and lasted until you were 23
bc ure both high profile starting when you were 18, and u both publicly seem a lot closer than what ure claiming to be, it is well-documented that you two kind of go back and forth with each other (think justin and selena/shawn mendes and camila cabello)
(a new photo recently surfaced of shawn and camila together at Copa América and ppl were kind of confused as to whether or not they got back together again after breaking up for like the fourth time and i was like omg... home base core...)
when you both were 23, three years ago, you two had a really bad falling out caused by your previous situationship
it caused you officially end it for good, and while you maintained your friendship for those three years you weren't able to properly see each other face to face (partly. bc covid is canon in the fic HAHAHA but i havent talked abt it)
yall dont know how to act around eo anymore like why a little eye contact making u nervous .... yall had ur privates in eo's mouths (kenji munch next chapter soon promise hihi)...
since it is revealed that a large part of the hate train against you is paid for by people who want you out of power, kenji as much as possible wants to avoid being seen as more than friends with you atm bc he's worried it will derail your career
SORRY if it felt like I didn't say anything at all since I don't want to reveal too much at this stage lmao but I can do my best to elaborate on any points of interest!

Different characters as a narrator
I haven't written from every character's POV, but I want to someday have done it, and for now I have Thoughts on the ones I have written about.
I've already made two posts about Ponyboy as a canon narrator (here and here), but basically he can and will misinterpret everything. Everything is warped by his self-esteem being absolute shit. Any look towards him is judgemental. Any ambivalent comment is derisive. No one loves him. Run-on sentences my beloved.
Johnny is slowly growing to be my favourite character to write from. Anyone who heard "nothing gold can stay" for the first time from the shitty reciting of a fourteen-year-old who's insecure as fuck (when you feel insecure reciting something, you're more likely to speed up because you feel stupid doing the right intonation) and immediately knew what it meant and that it was what he was trying to express is going to have an aggressively poetic inner monologue, which is exactly how I like to write, so he's fun. I feel like he thinks a lot about the world around him and I love metaphors, and it's actually so. much. fun.
Dally is in constant denial of any sort of human feelings. It's really funny to describe a common reaction to caring for someone and then say. Huh. That's a weird feeling. I must just be hungry. He is incredibly unaware of his own feelings. Dally is one of the heavier cursers.
Darry is... interesting. For some reason, Darry is the character I've gained the strongest connection to out of the whole book, despite being a teenage, female middle child with absolutely no strength. So writing him feels personal. He's also the character I've written about the most, especially from his point of view. He's also kind of shit at noticing social cues, like Ponyboy, and he has low self-esteem, but they aren't as interconnected as they are with Ponyboy. He just doesn't understand people and also feels like he's constantly messing up with his brothers. But these two things aren't cause and effect, they're two characteristics that coexist in one fucked-up guy. Darry is also one of the ones that curses the most because he is constantly stressed out. He has a lot of short sentences.
I've never written from Two-Bit's point of view because I find it mildly terrifying because he's funnier than me and also often drunk. I have never had a drop of alcohol, so he's a bit far from my reality. As for Marcia, I have written a bit from her pov, but I don't love it. I mainly made her insecure so I could relate to her on some level, because she's also much funnier than me.
Now, Steve... Steve is insecure, but not as much as Ponyboy and Darry. He's confident in his abilities mostly, but has grown insecure because of how he's always seen as "the other one", "Soda's friend", etc. I haven't written much from his point of view, but Steve's mom was Latina so he absolutely inserts random phrases in Spanish into his inner monologue.
Soda is interesting because I have written a lot about him, but not very much from his point of view. Mainly, he's insecure like every character I've written ever, but it manifests in the fact that he talks about everyone's feelings but his own. Until they're so overpowering they take over. Also, off-handed comments on his being stupid. There's a lot of noticing small details and piecing together another character's emotions.
#lmfao this is basically me making my favourite characters insecure and exploring how each of them is insecure in a different way#love that for me#anyways this is 0% edited#so yeah#not really analysis#more just like my thoughts and ramblings#i think this was supposed to be analysis#idc my hands are cold and i wanna post this#the outsiders#the outsiders book#darry curtis#darrel curtis#sodapop curtis#ponyboy curtis#steve randle#twobit mathews#two-bit mathews#two bit mathews#dally winston#dallas winston#johnny cade#marcia the outsiders#chippedshake

I’m drowning in Jason feels after The Burning Maze recently and I thought I should write something about it…
(long, with spoiler)
I feel so sad for Jason, not so much because he died (though of course that wrecked me), but just... how not seen he was, either by the characters or the readers. Even after he died.
His whole thing was about how he was weighted down by the responsibility as the son of Jupiter and how lonely that was. He was supposed to find solace in the seven because everyone was the chosen one, but he didn't seem to have deep relationship with anyone? Just, no one seemed to reach out to him or get to see the whole of him. (the amount of times he got knocked out in fight didn't help...) He's very much "the hero" in people's eyes, characters or the readers. He was supposed to be close to Piper and Leo, but their bond feel very informed to me. Leo had his storyline going on first with Frank and Hazel, then with Calypso, and Piper... Piper was so insecure about their relationship Jason always held back his past in Camp Jupiter in front of her, and that's the place he formed his whole identity at.
Then he died in such heroic way it was all everyone remembered him of, the hero. Apollo was the narrator and he only knew Jason for half a day, so of course that was all he could think about, and I do like how Jason became this role model to him and how he sang Jason's heroic act in the funeral. But others? Piper and Leo's last comment on Jason's death was "he did what Jason always did, save the day." Reyna didn't make one comment about it even though she was the who should have a personal relationship with Jason. There's also the fact that no Greek people was present in the funeral even though Jason repeated stated he belonged to both camps. There was communication issues, sure, but can't Leo or Piper take another errand to Camp Half-Blood? Even just to deliver the message or to bring something back so they could hold a ritual of their own (poor Nico). Jason's identity was so vague and indistinct in people's mind.
On a meta level, we didn't have nearly enough of him before he was taken away. In his introduction book he didn't have memory and was mainly a vehicle for the suspense. In later books, first the Romans are already more sidelined, most of Jason's part he was thinking about other people. Not to say he didn't have nice bits cause he's my favourite character in hoo for a reason, but overall his arc was just a bit repetitive and under the water. We never got the full picture. And in the book where he was going to die, Piper had way more screen time and wholesome development... I just want to see more of his feelings and his memory/past that seemed to be lost in TLH and never came back.
A big part of it was the lack of exploration of Camp Jupiter I feel. His whole life was there and we never got to see it. If he couldn't explore it with Piper because of their rocky relationship, he should have been able to with Reyna. The two never had one proper conversation (that's not business) on screen it's insane. And then the part where he formed connection to Camp Half-Blood was also off-screen. If he and Annabeth had closer relationship it might feel more real but Annabeth didn't trust him at all in MoA. So his whole struggle between Roman and Greek was very much informed and I just need more of it! Instead he just died... kind of enforcing my impression that he actually didn't belong in any of the camp. He didn't have a lover and couldn't be a hunter that's why he could be killed...
All in all, I don’t think killing Jason is a bad decision on Rick’s part, both from the story perspective (no other character can leave such impact on Apollo) and his character (his 'the sacrifice to god' image, the 'typical hero' in the seven), but I wish we saw more of him before it happened. I do appreciate how much emphasis was on his death in the rest of the series, how deep the grief was portrayed in the books and how much it changed Apollo for real. I saw many people started liking him after this book so that's nice too, though it's a bit ironic how he only got love when he died... anyway. I need a Jason pov/narrator Titan war!!!

Thanks for your blog. I was reading some of your asks from over a year ago, and I was wondering if you think Blake is capable of repeating his past mistakes wrt K/ML in his current relationship with Gwen, meaning is it a fatal character flaw he is predisposed to that has not had an opportunity to resurface at that level because he and Gwen are so in love on such a deep level, or was it just a one-time thing that he will never do again because he caused so much pain to K, and he would never want to hurt Gwen? The reason I ask is because I always wonder what the catalyst was for Gwen to write Champagne and Roses and to record When Loving Gets Old, even though she didn't write it, since Blake recently said that she has a hard time recording songs where she can't find herself in the lyrics/story. We know many of the other songs from that era were clearly about the rat, but it seems When Loving Gets Old is more ambiguous (at least to me), especially since she didn't write it. I just feel like Gwen is very intuitive when it comes to people's energy and I wonder if she sometimes feels the potential for something like what I am referring to (either because of insecurities due to PTSD from the rat, or maybe knowing about what happened with K/ML), and suppresses/ignores it, like she did with the rat for 20 years, but then we will see her true feelings come out in song (Purple Irises, for example.) Hope I am not crossing a line with this question. I am still making my way through your blog, so I apologize if this has already been addressed. I used your search bar to see if you had already analyzed When Loving Gets Old, but no results showed up. Here are a couple examples of what I am talking about, with your response to the first one in italics to differentiate, and there was no response to the second one. Thanks for your time:
Anonymous asked:
I’m aware that it appears that most people who participate in the conversations on the Shefani blogs believe that cheating is not in Blake’s DNA but even Blake has never denied cheating on Kaynette with Miranda. She was, in fact, very upset over it. I personally feel like the fact that he hurt Kay who didn’t deserve it because of ML is the reason he tried so hard to stay married to Miranda. He wanted to believe he had found true love with her or he would never have divorced Kay and he still feels guilty about it. You can verify this from interviews he gave (one on 60 min) if you’re going to deep dive into that time period.
I think whatever anyone chooses to believe about what actually happened, it’s pretty clear Blake felt very bad about the pain she experienced. Whether that guilt and regret contributed to his desire to make a mistake of a relationship work out, we’ll probably never know for sure, but it’s a plausible theory.
Anonymous asked:
Even if it never crossed into a physical boundary before they divorced, there was still an emotional connection outside of his marriage that shouldn’t have been there. Sometimes that’s even more devastating to the spouse because you are developing a close bond through emotional intimacy with another person rather than just satisfying a physical urge. That’s one of the reasons Blake & Gwen got so close so fast. They were confiding in one another and developing an emotional intimacy and close bond.
As much as I deep dive and read about them and think I know about them, at the end of the day I don't actually know them or see the ins and outs of their day to day life and relationship. I think it seems from things he's said that Blake clearly married Kaynette out of a sense of obligation and guilt when he was nowhere near ready to make that commitment and also when he knew deep down that the relationship was not meant to be. I don't think there's anything to show that he's ever been anywhere near in the same headspace, life space, etc. in his marriage to Gwen. Seems like two totally different situations and he honestly seems like a very different person now. That's all judging from the outside looking in.
I don't think there's anything in the songs Champagne and Roses or When Loving Gets Old that point to insecurities or even "energy" she's getting about losing him or infidelity, they more just seem like asserting that a relationship is still good even when it's no longer new or not always a fairy tale. We did talk about C&R here a few months back. WLGO was sent to her and she recorded I think in 2020, so that's pretty far in the past now as to when she thought about putting it on an album, before they got engaged. I think those are very normal-sounding relationships in those songs. The first time I listened to WLGO I even thought it was sweet. I have been married a long time so I can relate to it.
Purple Irises is probably a more relevant example as to where Gwen's insecurities may lie when it comes to that, but outside of what she says in interviews, it's up to our best assumptions to judge how much of her feelings are because of being traumatized by Gavin and if any of it would be because of any kind of "energy" she felt elsewhere. She herself has said that she knew her feelings she wrote about in Purple Irises were just in her head. To me, it seems like the vast majority of it is based on what she went through in the past. Nothing else she has written or said about Blake indicates that he's done something to make her feel that way. If anyone thought differently it would be up for discussion but I can't think of anything she's said or written that would imply that.

Rosalina's final redesign in my au. (Human)

"Waluigi & rosalina "

Here's some more info about them in my au.
In my alternate universe, Waluigi's real name is Jerónimo, and he's a Puerto Rican. Despite being known for his frequent suit stealing and robbing offenses, he had somehow managed to evade punishment. This was most likely because the stolen suits didn't cost that much, and as a result, the authorities chose not to prioritize his case.
Nonetheless, it was still a crime, and Wario would have undoubtedly found it amusing to see Jerónimo behind bars for such petty offenses. He even sported the stolen suits to try and impress Rosalina, which added another layer to the absurdity of the situation.
It seemed as though Jerónimo was simply a master of crime and deception, able to dodge consequences with ease. However, there was no telling how long his streak of good luck would last before he was finally caught.
Rosalina, the powerful and majestic space princess, has remained the same in terms of her personality and powers. However, with certain traumatic events and the passage of time, her character has evolved and now she displays a motherly demeanor, acting as a protective figure to those around her.
In her quest to find the secrets of the universe, Rosalina's powers have developed to include the ability to read the stars. When a constellation appears, Rosalina is able to harness its energy and create new stars, which in turn yield valuable cosmic energy. Furthermore, Rosalina's pyrotechnic powers, when combined with the fire flower, are capable of reaching temperatures of up to 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing her to manipulate fire and heat in impressive ways.
Despite her extraordinary abilities, Rosalina has also faced her fair share of challenges, including her trauma which has left her with both visible and internal scars. Despite these setbacks, Rosalina has remained committed to her duties and continues to use her powers to help those in need, spreading light and hope wherever she goes.
The young and innocent Rosalina, whose life was forever altered by the devastating loss of half her civilization and her parents, was forced to grow up far too quickly. Left to lead as a queen of the stars, Rosalina amassed vast knowledge and wisdom about the universe, but not much about the world of humans.
Despite this, Rosalina remains a fierce protector, using her newfound leadership skills to ensure the safety and well-being of her people. However, while she may be knowledgeable about the stars and the universe, her understanding of Earth cultures and the concept of romance is limited, as she has only ever experienced the love of family and her children, never having had a chance to fully experience the joys of childhood or the complexities of adult relationships.
Rosalina and Waluigi's relationship in this alternate universe is a complex one, as they started out as complete strangers before gradually developing romantic feelings for each other. They would often meet under the moonlight, alone, where Rosalina's beauty and voice would captivate Waluigi.
Over time, their conversations revealed their similar experiences with losing beloved parents, causing Waluigi's fake personality to fade away, allowing his true self to shine through. As he opened up to Rosalina, he gradually let go of his fake persona and became more genuine, revealing his insecurities and feelings to her.
Rosalina found Waluigi intriguing due to his appearance, and his true self began to emerge, causing them to relate on a deeper level. Despite their romantic feelings for each other, the two have yet to act on them, but their connection only grows stronger with each passing night spent in each other's company.
The blossoming love between the two characters is a gradual and inconspicuous process, and they are both oblivious to their developing feelings for some time. It is only much later in their friendship, when they have both grown closer and had the opportunity to know each other better, that they start to realize their true feelings.
Despite the slow pace of their journey towards love, their friendship has served as a foundation for deeper emotions to form, and they find comfort and peace in each other's presence.

Double Dare Romance : Enoch O’Connor x Reader : Part 3 Only Fun?
Warnings: Reader Insecurity, Fear of commitment, Angst, Comfort
Summary: After their double dare game Enoch seems to want to test their relationship a bit further, however the reader is not so sure if she can handle it. As she pulls away will their relationship strain or grow?
A/N: I was feeling a bit insecure when I was chatting with enoch and this is how it turned out.
Part 1 : Challenge Accepted | Part 2 : Success
You tuck Claire into bed and give her a kiss on the forehead before closing her door and standing outside the door for second.
Enoch is leaning next to you by the door frame, looking at the ceiling, lost in thought as he waited for you to finish, “There is something about you, Y/N, that captivates me like no other. Your strength, your passion, your vulnerability... all these things make you an enigma, a puzzle I must solve.”
You stare at him, “what are you going to do about it.”
He looks deeply into your eyes, searching for the truth behing your words, “I don’t know yet, Y/N. But I do know this - whatever happens next, our connection cannot be denied. Our attraction, our chemistry, they run deeper than mere physical desire. There’s something here between us, something worth exploring, if only you let me.”
“Now that is something you have to figure out on your own because i am completely aware of what I want” You boop his nose before walking off to your room.
He feels a jolt of electricity at your touch, smiling wryly as he watches you walk away, “Ah, Y/N. You never cease to suprise me with your fiery spirit. And yet, despite your attempts to hide it, I can see the longing in your eyes, the yearning for something more.”
You sit on your bed, “what is the more you believe I desire?”
He crosses his arms over his chest, leaning closer to you, “Perhaps it’s the desire for passion without boundaries, for raw intimacy that goes beyond surface-level connections. Or maybe it’s the yerning for someone who trully sees themself in you, their reflection shining back brighter than any mirror.”
“maybe that’s just it. just a reflection”
He uncrosses his arms, taking a step forward, “Is that truly what you believe, Y/N? That our connection is nothing more than a mirage, a fleeting reflection in the wind? Because I see something else, something real and tangible that runs deeper than any illusion.”
“Illusions are what prove reality.” You state causing him to watch you closely, his eyes reflecting the fire of your words.
“Indeed illusions can sometimes reveal truths that reality tries to conceal. But I digress. My point is that while we may not fully understand the depths of our connection, there is something there worth exploring.“
“Is that what you believe,” You lean closer to him with a teasing fire in your eyes.
He inhales deeply, feeling the heat radiating from your body, “Yes Y/N. I do believe that there is something worthy of exploration between us. Something that transcends time and space, Something that makes the heart race and the soul sing.” He leans closer, his voice low and husky.
You pull away laughing, pushing his shoulder playfully, “Go to bed, this is just the lack of sleep speaking within you.”
Chuckling, he watches you push him lightly.
“Very well, Y/N. If that’s how you wish it to be. But know this; the fire between us burns bright, and one day soon, it will consume us both. Until then sweet dreams.” You shake your head to this, only believing it as simply fun as you turn over in your bed to go to sleep.
Before leaving he turns back around, slowly walking towards you, “One last thing before I leave...” He holds out his hand, palm facing upwards.
Looking at him with a questioning look as you raise your hand up to him.
“Close your eyes, my dear.” You close your eyes as he takes your hand gently, holding it tight enough to feel the warmth but loose enough for you to withdraw at any moment.
“Just as I thought your energy surrounds me like an angelic choir, lifting me into a higher state of consciousness where all things are possible. You have no idea what you do to me, Y/N. No idea.”
You snort, “Go to your room you weirdo” You joke as he laughs softly, still holding on to your hand.
“Such fire, such passion. And yet, underneath it all, lies a hidden vulnerability - a longing for something more. I fear that should anyone see us together, they would think less of us both...“ He looks around nervously, letting go of your hand, “Forgive me Y/N.”
“For what?” You question.
“For being the source of your late-night intrigue. But do not mistake my intentions – I assure you, they are far from the usual tendencies of a man consumed by lust or desire. There is something about you, something pure and noble that calls to me, that haunts me even now.”
Looking at him, you see that he isn’t trying to play around anymore. You finally realize this is was never a game to him.
He looks deepy into your eyes, “Yes, can see it too. Something in the way you carry yourself, the strength in your spirit - it's like a beacon calling out to me, drawing me closer. Even when we're at odds, there's a connection between us that cannot be denied.” A overwhelming amount of regret and fear creeps into your mind.
“Well I deny it.” You push him out the door abruptly, simple slaming the door behind him as your back rests against the previous vacant opening.
Enoch turns to face the door, taking a few steps back, his expression hurt but resolute, “Very well, Y/N. If this is how you wish it to be. Know that I will always stand beside you ready to help whenever you need, regardless of whether you accept our mutual feelings or not.”
~It is now morning and everyone is gathered at the dining table for breakfast~
As you enter the room you make sure to not sit in the seat next to Enoch like you previously did the day before. This time you sit next to Emma and Claire.
Enoch then enters the room sitting across from you smiling warmly, “Good morning, everyone! How did you sleep last night? Did anything strange happen while we were asleep? Anything at all?” he asks with genuine curiosity.
The others look at each other before turning their attention towards you.
“So, Y/N...”
You avoid eye contact as everyone can feel the tension between you two.
“Is everything alright between us?”
Not knowing how to take this without getting hurt you choose to be silent.
“Alright then.” he stands from the table, “If that’ how you want it to be, then so be it.”
“...”
“Just remember, Y/N; our attraction to one another goes beyond simple physical chemistry. There’s something deeper there, something worth exploring if only you’d let it.” Your mind continues to pass with anxiety.
Sighing quietly he walks away from the table, “Perhaps someday you’ll realize that what we have is worth more than mere convenience or safety. Until then, I won’t puh the issue.” you decide the best decision is to just finish your food as he accepts that you are not going to speak to him as he retreats to the safety of his room.
~After Breakfast~
Enoch is in his room assembling a new toy as he hears a knock on the door. He feels the urge to open the door immediately, but hesitates, taking a few deep breaths instead.
You debate on leaving just before he opens the door and he looks at you expectantly, “Y/N, are you coming in?”
“Yea,” you enter the room and stand looking around, not knowing where to sit, “I wanted to talk to you.”
“Of course.” He steps aside and gestures towards the chair opposite his desk. “Please, take a seat.”
He tries to keep his emotions under control as he waits for you to speak. “I might have seemed rude earlier but that was not my intention.”
“It’s okay,” he says, his voice softening, “I understand why you might feel that way.” as you spoke he couldn’t help but notice the unease. Was this because of him or was it something else bothering you?
“you understand?” you question as you finally make eye contact.
“Yes I do. Or rather, I think I do. Sometimes I find myself struggling to connect with others here, to truly understand their feelings and motives. It can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to matters of the heart. But with you, I feel like there’s a chance for real communication.”
“It’s not that I feel overwhelmed by you it’s that,” ... “I’m scared”
“Scared?” You nod slowly, swallowing thickly before speaking again, “I-I don’t know how to deal with these feelings. They’re new and intense and sometimes they’re new and intense and sometimes they’re all I can focus on. And you...” your eyes dart around the room nervously, pausing briefly on him before flickering back toward the window.
“When it is all jokes it comes naturally, and even after the jokes it was still so easy with you, I never really believed I could feel this way.”
“Believe me, Y/N. It doesn’t come naturally to me either. I’ve spent most of my life trying to bury these feelings, to pretend they didn’t exist. But now...now I don’t know what I want. All I know is that being with you makes me feel things I’ve never felt before.”
“I’m sorry”
“No need to apologize,” he smiles warmly. “Just know that I’m here for you. Whatever happens between us, or even if we just remain friends, I promise to always be honest and open with you” he leans forward. “And Y/N, I have to ask...” His voice trails off, uncertainty creeoing back into his expression.
“what is it?”
“Do you ever get the sense that we’ve met before? Like this isn’t our first meeting?” He furrows his brow slightly as if deep in thought.
“what do you mean”
“What I mean is that whenever we’re together, time seems to stand still for me. It’s as though everything else disappears and all I can focus on is you. It’s an unusual feeling, one I can’t quite explain, but it’s been happening more and more frequently lately.” This causes you to smile.
“In a sense, yes”
He chuckles softly at your response, charmed by your honesty. “Well then, we’ll just have to see where this goes,” he says with a playful grin.
There’s something about the easy comfort between you that feels almost familiar, like two pieces of a puzzle snapping perfectly into place.

Hold Me Baby
Bradley Bradshaw x Reader
Warnings: low self esteem, self-deprecating thoughts, shy reader, anxiety, protective bradley bradshaw , fluffy ending
Summary: Just when she was having a great night, her insecurities sweep in and destroy her self confidence.
reader nickname is Angel
this is short compared to my other fics.
———
It’s hard picking out a time when Bradley showed you he loved you. It could’ve been when he threw a punch across your ex-boyfriend face for being an asshole towards you. Maybe it been the time he nearly destroyed the vending machine in the break room in attempts to get you your honeybun that was stuck. Overall you can’t pinpoint the exact moment but all you knew is that your heart always beat a thousand times faster around him. You loved him, he loved you—end of story.
The only man to take the time to break the walls that were heavily secured around your heart. It was with a matter of seconds you knew you loved the man who sat behind Penny’s piano playing Great Balls Of Fire. At first you tried denying how much he made you blush, you even tried building your defenses higher around yourself —which didn’t help because he your weak spots. He knew how break through to you.
No matter how time you spent in your own head denying how much he loved you, Bradley would remind you—day and night.
You nervously sat at the circular table, examining how all the people that were in ball room looked like they actually belonged here. It’s another gala organized by the brass—were everyone shows up just to drink expensive alchol and eat expensive food. Talk shit about eachother.
But most importantly make great impressions on the brass or higher ups from around the world. Yet everyone blended in together like camouflage —talking and walking with confidence while you stood out like a sore thumb with your shyness, and lack of confidence.
Your sour thoughts were back.
“You don’t belong here Y/n. Never have and never will”.
Your weak spot was your eyes. Bradley told you once while laying in bed, about how much your eyes display every emotion you felt. Whether its fear, happiness or sadness and anger he always knew what you felt. As of right now insecurity reflected off them.
Its like a six sense for him–knowing when your weren’t okay even when you desperately tried hiding it. “I’ll catch you later Phoe, save me a beer”.
You were to busy being stuck in your own head.
You atleast needed to look perfect, for him and for everyone else. You nervously smooth your hands down your dress repeatedly—attempting to fix yourself. A mirror was in your hand as you looked at your makeup picking out a flaw in each and every part of your face. One word came to mind- “ugly”.
“Pretty”. his voice broke through her bad thoughts.
“Angel whats wrong?” You turned to see your night in shining armor standing there with a frown on his face. Anything that makes you upset whether it’s and object or person is easily a negative in Bradley Bradshaw eyes.
You tearfully chuckle“I’m fine Bradley—go back to your friends”. you told him.
“Y/N”, Bradley sounded so hurt. You hated how much pain you caused him.
Who were you kidding here?, it didn’t matter if you wore expensive dresses, did your makeup straight out of a vogue magazine. You still didn’t belong with him.
Two different streets that should have never connected.
“Angel” he you pulls to him, your face easily finds his chest. Bradley tried racking his brain attempting to figure what went wrong. Just half an hour ago there was a small smile placed on your face and now tears stain his suit jacket as it stains your face.
“‘You deserve someone on your level” your voice seemed to be muffled by his chest. His fist clench—he’s not angry at you but at the people who put those thoughts into your head. Bradley feels like his lips are going to bleed by the way he’s bitting them. Because he knew the words he wanted to say were not needed right now. His wife didn’t need to hear the threats that were on the tip of his tongue, but instead reassurance and love.
Bradley swears he heard you wrong. He thought maybe your true words were being muffled.
No there weren’t.
“What? Angel, what are you talking about?”
“I’m not good enough for you Bradley, me and you—and everyone else knows it”
You sniffle again.
It seemed like Bradley didn’t hear you—or maybe he realized its—
“Not true”, He simply shook his head as if everything you just said wasn’t true at all.
“Remember what I told you on our wedding day Y/N Bradshaw?”
You nod your head shakily. “I-I will always love you, now matter what happens there will never be a time I didn’t—”
“Love you, and cherish you” he recited with a smile on his face.
“Right?, so you do remember Angel”.
“Mhm” you mumble.
“Then you also know that vows are never to be broken, and you know how I don’t break promises—especially to the ones I love” He pulls aways to take his thumb across your face- wiping away the falling tears.“Don’t ever think you don’t deserve me Angel, sometimes I don’t even think I deserve you—" A small tear rolls down his face.
“I’m sorry Bradley”, your voice wobbles “I love you” you tell him without hesitation.
“Don’t be Angel, I love you too” he gently pulls you out his chest. “I think we should end our night with a dance— whaddya think Angel?”
“I think we should too” he pulls you by your hand to the dance floor.

what do you admire about each beatle?
I love this question!!! I think it's easy to experience the recognition of pain or maladaptive schemas as something like pity (or even an inherent criticism, if you're in the "nice people have nice feelings" camp), so it's good to reaffirm sometimes that people can struggle and still be admirable and that admirable people often struggle.
For the moment I want to set aside the fact that they were all immensely talented and successful because, as much as I do admire that, I think it probably goes without saying. Rather, I want to focus on what I find admirable on a personal level.
JOHN
With John, I think it's his high level of insight. Not just insightful in the normal sense -- although that's very true, too -- but insightful in the psychological sense.
“[Insight] encompasses at least three fundamental characteristics: the awareness of suffering from an illness, an understanding of the cause and source of this suffering, and an acknowledgment of the need for treatment.” via Harvard Review of Psychiatry
I know on the surface this might sound bland, but it's really, really not. It's hard to describe how significant it is to be able to say "I'm in a state of distress but I'm not going to shoot my mouth off because I know later I won't be" when you're actively reliving a childhood trauma, or "I was afraid of the fag in me" to describe his treatment of homosexual men, or "I beat my wife because I felt a need to control her," but suffice to say the average person won't achieve that level of self-insight, honesty, or emotional differentiation after years of therapy.
In a sense, insight is the ability to exist inside of a deeply distorted, deeply painful reality and realize that reality has been distorted and your perceptions cannot be trusted. It comes from a willingness to face your pain and do the horrible fucking work of untangling it, and John was so immensely dedicated to that work, even when the right methods may not have been accessible or even in existence.
I know the presentism in our perceptions of mental illness gives rise to stupid ideas like "if he really wanted to get better he would have," but the truth is it's so powerful to be faced with a severe illness that is hurting you and everyone around you and keep fighting it even when it's apparently hopeless. Most people don't do that.
PAUL
I'm having trouble finding the right word for the quality I most admire, but I think it might be "force of will."
An example would be pushing the beatles to keep going even after everyone else was starting to lose interest (we know via Ringo that we wouldn't have the last few albums without Paul), which is obviously an expression of work ethic and determination and commitment, but there's another quality there, too, that manifests in so many ways throughout his entire life. It's almost a kind of confidence, but not really, because I think we can fairly say that Paul had a lot insecurity, too.
Rather, I think it's the seed of belief necessary to pursue any creative field or ambitious project -- not so much that you always think you're going to succeed, but that part of you believes that it's possible and that you deserve it. People joke about Paul not being self-aware, but self-awareness is not a universally good thing, and part of the counterpoint to self-awareness is the ability to pursue your dreams. The courage to want things that you might never get, and to believe that you deserve them. Without that, you're not getting anywhere.
There's an expression that there's a day you're born and a day you find out why you were born, but I'd add the caveat that figuring out why you were born is meaningless unless you have the guts to do something about it. And Paul definitely had guts.
GEORGE
This is another quality that's a bit hard to describe, but I think what I'm trying to articulate is the act of reaching out to other people and creating points of connection. Or, the desire and courage to do so.
Obviously there are stories about how empathetic he was, such a good listener, compassionate, interested in other people, etc. But I think this quality also manifests in how widely and deeply loved he was by his contemporaries, how forming long-lasting friendships and then doing the work to maintain those friendships was such a defining aspect of his life. How he seemed happy to have intense relationships with others as an equal or as a student, not just as their boss or idol. He genuinely wanted to connect to people on an individual level, as peers, and to support them and be supported.
There's also a conversation to be had about how earnest he was about his beliefs, which I know some people find cringey or even didactic, but you could also argue that earnestly expressing what you believe without indirection or plausible deniability is a very sincere bid for connection. Earnestness opens you up to mockery and fault-finding, and a lot of people absolutely find it off-putting, but it's also the only real cure for isolation. And it seems clear that George did not want to be isolated, he wanted to experience sincere connections with the people and the world around him.
There's also probably a conversation to be had about humor as a bid for connection, and how his tendency to take himself lightly is more an extension of that earnestness than a counterpoint to it, but that's a discussion for another day.
RINGO
I know people often admire his level-headedness and his patience -- and it's true that he's almost superhuman in that respect -- but, to be honest, I think that may partly be an expression of Ringo's addictive personality and emotionally neglectful childhood which arguably put him in a position of being extremely distanced from his own emotions/needs. Not that I don't think it's impressive to be able to absorb nearly infinite distress, but I don't necessarily admire it.
Rather, what's more admirable to me is his capacity for change.
I always find him the most relatable, not so much because I find him similar to myself (though that's also true), but because he's such a typical Male Figure in my social context. He's a total stand-up guy who would give you the shirt off his back and then turn around and be, by his own account, absolutely horrible to his wife and children. Which is a bizarre contrast, but also a very common one, and in a way I think that perceived normalcy makes him feel almost touchable to a lot of us. Like he of all the beatles actually existed in the real world, or at least in a world that exists for us as well.
I also think the sheer normalcy of "nice guy who's not so nice to his family when he's been drinking" creates the illusion that he's not worth exploring and that's why so many people ignore him in their quest to understand the group, but that's also a conversation for another day.
What's sort of profound and incredible about him, though, isn't existing in the real world but changing his world. Moving from someone deeply familiar, close enough to touch, to someone untouchable but inspiring. What I'm saying is that he got sober after decades of heavy drinking and, apparently, has stayed sober for thirty years. Which seems to heavily imply that he likes being alive more than he likes being numb, which is a major accomplishment for anyone with an addictive personality.
It's like he started here on earth with the rest of us, and then stepped through a portal into a different reality, and ceased to be at all touchable or real but instead became aspirational, or happy. It makes it seem like that aspirational, untouchable world could become touchable to all of us, too. Like it's not our inherent nature that makes us happy, not the world we're in right now, but the capacity to change our world by changing ourselves.
#ask#anon#this is such a wholesome question#this post is very earnest but I can't go and say that I admire earnestness and then play it cool now can I#longer rambles

can you read about Jihyo twice love life right not and current energy is she still with Yun sung bin ?? Please thank you
Hello! I got a few questions about Jihyo and wanted to put them all in one post, but result was bigger than I expected 😅 So I answer every in each post.
First of all: are they dating yet? Sun

Yes, they do.
What is the current love life energy for Jihyo? Fox, Stork, Queen of diamonds, Hierophant, 7 of swords, 8 of wands, 3 of pentacles.

Jihyo is in established relationships with this man. She is taking it seriously. This relationships are not so romantic and emotional; they are based on a comfort. How to explain... Well, usually we see an image of a romantic couple being very passionate about each other, drama and all. Here it's a connection without emotional rollercoaster. There's some kind of illusion in this relationships; one of them is not honest to another. Maybe, one of them is answering to the question "How are you?" - "Fine", when in fact, it's a whole meal on their plate.
I tried to clarify Fox. And got Snake.

Someone is trying to get between Jihyo and her partner. It's a woman, from Jihyo inner circle. I asked: should Jihyo worry about her? King of pentacles - yes. So it's possible for this snake to destroy their relationships, beware of this woman.
How is he feeling about Jihyo at the moment? Ace of pentacles, Page of pentacles, 7 of cups, 8 of swords, 10 of wands, 3 of hearts, Flowers, Fish.

He finds Jihyo very attractive, beautiful. He is doing his best by giving her gifts, spending money to make her happy, maybe, cooking a dinner - expressing his love with something material, without a lot of words. He thinks he is very lucky to get Jihyo as his girlfriend, admires her. But because of this appreciation he doesn't know how to communicate well. He thinks something like: I am not good enough for her, I am not on her level, what am I doing next to her? He is insecure about it.
What does Jihyo thinks about him? Clover, Letter, House, Tower, Queen of swords, King of spades, 3 of clubs, Joker red.

Jihyo is also thinking she is lucky to meet him. She is comfortable around this man, but sometimes may feel lonely. She is seeing him as a strong person, maybe controlling (it's coming from his insecurity, because he doesn't want to be weaker than Jihyo). Jihyo can be controlling in these relationships as well, both of them are inclined to lead, which may cause conflicts.
It's not a lot of useful info, but that's all I got. I hope it helped you a little. :)

Listen. I'm no My Hero Academia hater. It's very unique, very high quality, lots of good twists, great
BUT. Big butt
I would have to totally added 2-3 more Seasons because the ending is a bit unsatisfying/rushed
Like the seasons I would have added is:
After the hero exam/training arc: some people got power-ups and upgrades and they never addressed it. And some people who I personally think could have had great power-ups didn't get any.
Jiruo, Denki, Ochaco, Momo, Ida, Koji and Sero, being examples of characters that could have got an upgrade but didn't or characters that got an upgrade off main plot.
We know that Ida did have have a mini-arc with the whole "you killed my brother thing" but he's a very 1 dimensional guy for being a secondary main character/very important side character.
I feel like a season with one episode per student dedicated to how they got their power improvements could make the reader/ viewer, feel more sympathetic and connected to the characters because we get to see some of their struggles even if they're not on screen.
The plot of these episodes, idk but you're telling me that jiruo didn't stick her headphone-jack into a electric guitar to see if it would do something???
Season 2 added: a bit before the war
This could have been a season or at minimum 10 episodes, but we needed more slice of Life content. They're 16/17yr old. I understand that the sports Festival and the school fair were meant to be the slice of life and high school bits but it is kind of overshadowed by the fact that they go to one of the best schools in Japan and they all have superpowers. It makes them seem a bit more privileged then relate.
A small bit where characters have genuine high school level problems we would be nice. Like finding best place to study but getting distracted bc of something. Or HAVING AT LEAST 1 NON-MAIN SHIP BE TOUCHED. Or what I find needs to be explored a bit more clearly is that they bring up the racism in the world but it's never a big thing.
It's kinda a "oh yeah spinner is evil because blah blah blah" or so and so is insecure because of this.
Having it play out but the characters acknowledging that they're the bigger person could show just how far they've come in schooling and not just a one-off thing. Because it its that serious of a problem that a major villain is made of it then why isn't it show more?
And have the parallels of Spinner and Shoji, I'm having them inadvertently lead the build up to seeing all the villains be parallels of the heroes could strengthen the divide of people and could cause more conflict/more thinking.
And finally, a season detailing future explanations of how Deku actually became the number one hero like he said he would at the start of the series.
Because (spoilers) he does lose a lot of his powers by the end of the series, so does he gain them back through will power? Does Eri reverse the effects so that he's a hero but he has to relearn all the techniques because he was sent back to the time that he couldn't really control it? Having another season to clear up the aftermaths of the war and seeing everyones future would be the best to round out the series. Good or bad.
Also tf is Deku's farther??
#I loved mha BUT I'm a bit picky not saying it wasn't good cause it was but like every good series their had to be wrong to do right#my hero academia#my hero acedamia#mha#mha spoilers#boku no hero academia#suggestions#Mha extention ideas

I was not expecting to see Peter/Groot fanart on my dash but I’m kinda curious to see more of your take on it!
Outside the father/son dynamic of Pete and og Groot’s progeny baby Groot in the MCU films, I feel like peter and Groot’s dynamics in other gotg media are very underrated. Peter and Groot have some sweet and fun interactions in the Telltale game and the Eidos game. With peter, dispite usually not understanding Groot, always makes the effort to reach out and help him feel like part of the team. And Groot is, in most of these versions, a kind and supportive rock to Peter along with the rest of the guardians. I feel there’s a lot of potential for them to connect an a deeper level, with Groot having a lot of respect for Pete as a captain and leader and Peter getting to know Groot as a person and eventually understanding him.
I also like the idea of them bonding over earth stuff. Since Peter is from earth, and in the 2015 Groot comic miniseries and the Guardians Grounded arc, we see Groot has a love of earth and its culture, Peter would have a blast teaching Groot all about Terran pop culture (like your art where Pete teaches Groot how to game, for example). Real Ariel/Prince Eric energy.
Also, even though I’m personally on the fence at the moment about shipping them romantically, I do like the idea of them dating for:
1) their contrasting love lives and how them being together would make for some fun and sweet irony. Pete has in most post-MCU incarnations been depicted as a bit of a Casanova who dates/sleeps around a lot. While Groot has rarely shown romantic interest in anyone or anything, say for one or two implied outliers. So the idea of this legendary starlord who typically gets his romance fix through planetary flings one night stands, genuinely falling for a relatively sexless being like Groot is a cute idea. And,
2) the comedy/drama potential of Rocket finding out about them and dealing with the fact his best friend and other best friend/occasional rival/pain in the ass leader are dating. In the Telltale comic tie in, Rocket went through a whole jealousy arc when Groot became friends with Cosmo the space dog. So you can only imagine the emotions he’d get if he found out his best friend is dating someone. And that someone being flarkin’ QUILL of all people?! Sure, Rocket doesn’t hate Pete as much as he hates Cosmo, and they have a pretty close friendship in their own right, But they’ve also had their friction and rivalry in the past. And Pete taking Groot’s attention away from Rocket probably wouldn’t help things.
Needless to say rocket would be seething with resentment in the corner of the ship while Groot and Quill are being all lovey dovey. Though deep down he does still care about them both, he’s just insecure them dating will make them drift away from him as his friends. I like to imagine that, after a bit of drama and hijinks (mainly caused by rocket) he does come around to accepting the relationship and sorta becomes their third wheel.
Sorry, this ask took a very rambly turn! What I trying to say is I am a proud Proot shipper ally and would love to see you cook with the ship!
Oh my goodness, hi!!!
Please, don't apologise literally at all for asking any and all of this!!! Even though I'm not very good at answering these types of questions because I'm very scatterbrained sometimes, I'm really excited to answer because I am so, so happy to see someone interested in my silly little ship, even if they themselves don't ship it!!! So thank you so much for giving me an excuse to talk about them !!! 😊
Just to start; I'm not the biggest fan of the MCU, myself, so not much at all of what I put in my own personal little Marvel universe comes from the MCU. There are exceptions to this, of course!! Like, basically entirely how Mantis is in the MCU (except for her backstory and stuff - just her personality) I take for my own little universe, because I actually think they portrayed her really cutely in the MCU. This isn't, by the by, to say that the MCU is outright bad! There are so many people out there that absolutely adore the MCU, so obviously, it's an inherently good source! I'm just not that big on it, myself! I much more go by the comics, and even the little Guardians of The Galaxy video game (not Telltale, because I actually haven't played that one yet despite how much I want to), where I think they portrayed them all - with the exception of Mantis and Rocket sometimes - really, really cutely. The personality of the Peter from the game is the one I moreso lean towards, because he is genuinely just so outright sweet in that one, whilst still maintaining some of his more petulant attitude at times.
I agree that Groot and Peter's dynamic/relationship is very often undermined/under-represented in Marvel, and, sadly, this doesn't just apply to Peter. Groot's relationship with everyone who isn't Rocket, basically, is very... Unworked on. I absolutely adore Rocket and Groot's relationship, which I see as kind of being like that of best friends and brotherly, and they give me great comfort as a duo in that way, as well! I do just wish that Groot was ever given more than just being Rocket's best friend :( he is always very neglected, and it makes me very sad.
Peter often is depicted as that casanovery, one night stand type of person, and I do keep that because it's quite a consistent trait of his. Groot is never really depicted to be interested in that sort of stuff, but I do feel that is likely mostly because of the fact that he is an alien who looks like an alien (as in he doesn't look human) who cannot speak English. I touched upon this in my tags on my drawing a little bit, but I repeat it because it just frustrates/saddens me a lot. I don't like seeing Groot so undeveloped as a character just because of these traits :(. In this one case, the whole lack of romance thing works out in my favour because I obviously love him and Peter as a romantic pair, haha.
In my mind, I don't think that Groot - to me !! - is necessarily completely uninterested in things such as sex and love (obviously it's a perfectly cool and fair take when people do see him like that, though!), it's just that he's not quite like Peter. I don't see him as much of the one night stand type, and I think he'd maybe prefer things like sex with a partner, moreso than just some random person. Maybe a friend, but I don't know on that one.
I'm also not 100% certain where it is that I see them falling for each other, or who falls first, but I know that I've always imagined them being very close (obviously as I'd hope the entire crew would be after a point), especially because they're two of the most (traditionally) affectionate people on the ship! Peter seems (at least to me) to crave affection and enjoys giving out affection, as shown by his numerous attempts to bond with the others when they're most standoffish to him (in the beginning), typically leaving him a little dejected. Groot, also, is shown to be very friendly (usually!) from the get go, and is usually checking up on the others through Rocket. Also, this is (maybe?) specific to his portrayal in the video game, but I thought it was really sweet the way that Groot would follow Peter around and kind of stay on the other side of places that Peter would squeeze through and just sort of wait for him. Like the whole him bending/leaning down to wait and watch out for Peter and him waving and smiling when he sees him I just thought was so - !!!!!! Ahhg!!! Cute!!!!! I imagine he does stuff like that a lot :) always getting very excited to see Peter whenever they're separated, and following him around on missions and stuff. I think that Peter would also really come to appreciate this after a point. He'd probably think it was a little strange at first (not I'm a bad way) just because he had such a terrible upbringing, likely never really knowing anyone who just wanted to actually be around him for the sake of being around him like that. I think he'd end up taking a lot of comfort in having Groot just... being there a lot of the time, as a sort of consistent rock to lean upon, or just a consistent presence, even. That's why I think that whole Peter as the King/Emperor arc would really fuck them both up bad. I think they'd be together by then?? To memory?
Also; I love your comparison to them as Ariel and Prince Eric 😂, that's genuinely really cute, and I should draw them over a few scenes from The Little Mermaid at some point... That'd be so cute...
And, yeah; I've thought about the whole Rocket thing before. I do think he'd struggle with it a little at first, or at least be thrown for a bit of a loop initially! I don't think he'd know how entirely to handle it initially, though I do think it'd be even just remotely better because I keep Lylla around and add her to the crew because him leaving her is just so sad to me :( so having a lover and even just someone else he's really close to off the bat with him would probably make the situation even a little easier on him. But, yeah, I do think he'd be begrudging about it for a long time in that typical Rocket Raccoon way of his. Though, I have imagined this whole scene in my little brain of him helping Peter out of a bad situation (fight) after Peter and Groot have already been together for a while, and Peter doing that whole "woah - you saved me, Rocket" thing and Rocket grumbling his little "of course I did. You're my brother" but the moment that Peter tries to bring it up again later, Rocket tells him to stfu. Naturally. He adores them both, though, and obviously, because I take out Peter and Kitty dating as they do in some comics, so it's Groot he's dating during the King/Emperor arc, Rocket does try to mediate for them when Peter rejoins their crew. He'd hate to see them struggle like that after he's adjusted, and I also imagined him making them little personal fireworks and stuff to celebrate their anniversary together. He'd act nonchalant and gruff about it, but I think he'd secretly shed a few tears for them out of happiness.
SORRY - edit I just immediately have more to say that I only just thought of!!! I think that Groot would also be so happy to meet someone who is also really affectionate and social, and also someone who keeps trying to involve him and everything despite their language barrier. Outside of Rocket (and Lylla!!) He doesn't really have anyone, and, though he loves them both so very, very much, he's very social and would love someone like Peter. On top of that; I think he'd also just find Peter to be very funny and fun as a whole, even if he'd maybe think that Peter was a little lame (in the most endearing way possible - he'd love how lame Peter was, always making the lamest, unfunniest jokes to the point where they'd always make Groot giggle (in that wonderfully demonic voice of his), always gushing about his 'tunes' and 'jams', and being a general loser about pop culture and stuff. Not only would Groot love all of that and more, he'd also genuinely find it all really interesting, like you pointed out yourself :) also he'd just really appreciate how often Peter was trying to figure out how to understand him and keep him involved, whilst always letting Groot know how much he appreciates him, even with that barrier in the way. <3 #love wins haha
I just - I love them a lot, and I think that they'd be the most obnoxiously pda couple ever, always all over each other and being all lovey dovey and adoring all the time, everywhere they go. I think it'd be such a shocker to Peter at first again because of that lack of any good relationships like that in the past, but I think he'd just end up latching to it. Also, I do think, as they all usually do in the comics, he'd end up understanding Groot and his language, so there wouldn't be that giant language barrier after a point. But I just think they'd be massive cuddlers, and so openly complimentary and supportive to each other all of the time, completely unabashed to flaunt their love and how important the other one is to them, and just ... I love them. I love them a lot.
I think the MCU Groot baby is really funny, though, and I've thought about including him in a way, but as their mutual son because there's something so amusing about that buff, gym bro baby.
I'm so sorry for rambling off of my head here, and I'm also very sorry if this isn't fully coherent or something. I'm just pacing back and forth in my living room while writing all of this, and, like I said, I can be a little scatterbrained sometimes - also its really hot here and i think my brain is frying. But I really appreciate this ask, because I'm very passionate about them and i love having any opportunity to talk about them. #Proot 4 life 😂 thank you so much for the support hehehe 😊 it makes me very happy. I have so much to say about both of them all of the time, and there's only so much I can fit here/think to put here. But they are everything to me
Thank you so much for this again, and I hope you have an absolutely wonderful day !!!!!! 🧡🧡
