Thoughts on the "Kris and Ralsei wielding a sword together" concept art

I know I am like two years late to this party but guys I only learned of this like a month ago let me react to the content ok

This art is fascinating to me, for a couple of reasons.

Long post below the read more!

Firstly, it speaks to the strange connection that Kris and Ralsei seem to share. Between the theories that Ralsei is Kris's old headband, his resemblance to a Dreemurr, and the enormous pedestal he places Kris upon, this is another thread that links these two in an intrinsic way, and suggests they will both have something important to contribute to the story as a whole.

Secondly, what it says about their relationship at the point this might happen. Their equal wielding of the sword seems indicative of an equality between them, which is striking due to the fact that in the lore Ralsei provides, Darkners exist only to serve Lightners, and Ralsei's entire character so far seems bent towards serving his friends any way he can. So the fact that both him and Kris get equal billing here suggests there will come a point in the story where he comes to view himself as equal, rather than subservient, to his friends, and particularly to Kris who he venerates above all others.

Thirdly, what this says about the nature of balance between light and dark. Somewhat related to the above, we can think of Kris and Ralsei as stand-ins for the concepts of Light and Darkness respectively. Typically these concepts are framed in a master-servant dynamic, with dark(ners) serving the light(ners) - or otherwise in an adversarial manner, particularly with the Roaring and the mention of "shadows subsuming the light". But here, there is true equality, and true balance between the two forces. This suggest that light and dark have united to combat a foe that far eclipses the scope and threat of either, whether that is the Roaring, the Angel's Heaven, or something else entirely.

Fourthly, the fact that this is not a happy occasion. Both of their faces are solemn (although Ralsei does look like he's pulling the o_O face a little here) - there are no smiles, this is not a moment of triumph. Something really important is going down, and both of them are ready to do whatever needs to be done here.

Fifthly, the implications for Ralsei's character and the philosophy of Deltarune. Kris wields a sword in combat, but they only use it to FIGHT. We know that the sword can change shape to become a shield, which would fit Ralsei's more pacifistic nature better - however, here he seems ready to FIGHT. Perhaps because he has run out of other options, or because their foe is so great, so powerful, that there is no way to parlay with them as equals.

And sixthly, and most importantly, the direction they are facing, and the object of their focus. Rather than facing rightwards as in a typical enemy encounter, or away from the screen where a larger threat would typically emerge (think GIGA Queen or perhaps even the Dark Fountains), they are facing towards the camera. Further, look at their gaze, how they are staring directly at the screen. Directly towards us, the players.

And so, unless I have failed to consider something, or there's some hidden element we're not currently aware of, I believe this is depicting the moment where Ralsei and Kris have decided to take up arms against the destiny that binds them, to fight against the very concept of control that a player typically exerts over a game's characters. We are too powerful, too alien, to negotiate with - no ACT will satiate our desire to continue playing Deltarune, to push these puppets forwards to see what happens at the very end. And so, these two have no other option but to try and FIGHT us, to overthrow our control and oversight by force.

This is the point, I feel, where Deltarune stops being a game, and we will have a choice to make - to let them win, and assert control over their own destinies once-and-for-all, or to FIGHT back, cement our power over these characters and make them dance to our tune to the story's bitter conclusion.

A bit of a stretch, perhaps, deriving all of that for a crudely-drawn piece of concept art. But those are just my thoughts. I'd be curious to see what conclusions anyone else has drawn from this curious piece of art!

To start off, I've seen a lot of discourse around this and also as to why/by whom it was deleted. To answer that first, it's hard to say because Jimin just commented:

"삭제해 버리네" which doesn't indicate who performed the action as the pronoun here is missing. He just wrote *he he he* "deleting" or "deleted"

He did use a grammar form 해 (어/아) 버리다 as to indicate that the action was completed in full; this grammar form can also carry an emotional undertone -as if someone was glad/regretful that the action happened. The best or closest interpretation of what he wrote then would be "he he he it's all deleted/gone" (alternatively: "he he he deleting it all") Did he mean he was glad he deleted? Or was he laughing that it got deleted? Hard to tell... You can see Jungkook understood it in that way, but I don't really see a reason why such action would be taken by anyone from the staff or moderators on the platform (if there are any).

Simply because what he wrote was very... brazen to say the least (we'll get into that) but in no way vulgar or inappropriate for broadcast.

Now looking at the preceding comment which you asked about... Jimin knew what he was doing with this comment 🤭 (and the nature of it leads me to believe even more he regretted posting so he deleted it quickly and was laughing about it)

First, this sentence is a commonly used phrase, you can also see by the formal tone in which Jimin wrote it as if he was quoting it- he normally doesn't have to / shouldn't talk with such high politeness with Jungkook and Jungkook responded in a highly formal tone and the typical Jimin-ssi for that very reason => which all adds another layer to this whole interaction (teasing upon teasing 🫣)

It's very commonly used when someone is in pursuit of someone else, whether it be trying to persuade you, make you do/feel something or make a move on you.

You would typically say this in a setting when a stranger is trying to get to know you/get your number or in other words is hitting on you and you want to politely and also a bit playfully reject. Of course, the context can also be that when a friend is trying to get on your good side, please you or persuade you. This answer is kind of teasing way to say "huh you think this would work on me?" It is a lot of times spoken in situations when you want to be playful/teasing/flirtatious and say: I'm not such an easy person (but)... [I'm not that easy to sway/your attempts have not been enough, you should try harder]. It can read as an invitation, a sort of cheeky rebuttal to say you know your worth and you expect more to be persuaded.

When put in the context of the wlive, there is more to consider. Jungkook was talking about taking it easy prior to Jimin posting that, when he read a few comments saying that Jimin should "go easy". I feel like Jimin's idea for the comment came from this moment. What leads me to believe he ended up deleting it is that the context in which he said it made it inherently flirtatious and very suggestive: Jungkook naked in bed, trying really hard to persuade Jimin over a livestream to go see him and Jimin making prior remarks to Jungkook to uncover himself 🙈 And that's how it was understood by Jungkook as well as he then went on to reason that it was Weverse that deleted the comment (for it being somehow explicit).

(**Also just to note, "an easy person" 쉬운 사람 as a standalone term in Korean doesn't carry an outright sexual meaning- an easy person in Korean is understood as more of a 'negative' term when you are too agreeable, when you don't stand up for yourself and let people walk over you and you are too easily taken advantage of. So 2.1, just like the previous patch SO much happened, and To no one's surprise, It blew everything we saw in 2.0 out of the water! And since i did something similar during 2.1, I'd thought it make sense to do the same for the next part. So without further ado!

Spoilers under the Cut!!!!

Of course the start of 2.1's story has to end right where we left off, in the room where we found Robin's dead body O_O. But i like the direction they go, where after we split off form Aventurine and meet with the Express, we get to see multiple POV's, kinda like how they did with Dan Heng on the Luofu but more complex. And man did it work wonders!

While I know there were people meming and a bit disappointed Duke Inferno never got to appear in game, I did like that Acheron at least remembers his last stand. Man stood by his principles and went out fighting (even if he' prob won't be playable)

I also like how they handled Acheron & Welt together. Like I said before never got to play Honkai Impact 3rd, but I did get to read a lot of the supplementary material like Second Impact, so it was nice to see that side of Welt from there. And that's while Acheron isn't his Mei it's nice they shared a kinship

This next parts more on the serious side, so I'll give a little heads up that rest of the post is prob about to touch on really dark topics like Enslavement, genocide, su1c1de, and not so nice things like that so be warned.

So,

Aventurine / Kakavasha's backstory....

there's so much I could say but they really did a excellent job fleshing out his character. From how he was "lucky" from birth but everyone he ever loved wasn't so lucky, how his reckless gambling with his life was there even as a kid, him feeling he's never been truly free only going from one master to another, mans got trauma and it's no wonder he thinks everything comes at a cost.

I haven't seen a lot of post about the part where Kakasvasha says his last goodbyes to his sister, right before the Narration explains that the small rebellion ended in the Avgin clan's extinction (it's vague if the Katacins survived, but considering how the story paints them, not many people are gonna miss them). over 6,000 deaths and over ,000 casualties, all on a planet that was barely survivable. And while his sister sends him off after one final prayer to Gaithra Triclops, it left him alone with no one, and we know how he ended up afterwards.

Not to mention the fact even when Aventurine killed his old master by STRANGLING HIM WITH CHAINS, he would've been arrested by the IPC had Jade not taken an interest in his bet. Man has been through it. No wonder he recklessly bets his life in gambles, it was either that or he dies.

Speaking of reckless gambling, the entire sequence after Sunday does his Harmony suggestion we get that oh so nice interactions with the young Aventurine and his shadow the true self other Aventurine that rags on him the rest of the way. The shadow Aventurine lays it in him that underneath that bravado is a man whose so scared to lose more and yet doesn't care if his own life gets taken in the process since all he has is that. Not even with all the money in the universe. Dr Ratio's "betrayal" was supposedly an act, but he still thinks on some level the doctor hates him and it was real, he has no one to confined in or anything.

But with the younger self it's different. The way his young self still has light in his eyes, how in the hallucination he's at the theme park with his family, who are dead. First he denies that there are any Avgins since they were all dead right? But then he shows a kinder side he would never show to anyone, much less himself. And it accumulates in the scene where he decides to live on a bit longer and says a final prayer to his past, to Kakavasha. I was choking up all through that final part.

I know the patch mostly focused on Aventurine, but even what we learned of Acheron is also sad. She's not really a Galaxy Ranger, because her status as an Emanator of Nihillty, a "Self-Annihilator," is tragic enough, means she'll forget precious memories, senses, untill there's nothing. So it's sticks out to me that Acheron is the one to give Aventurine the nudge to live on, she she also has lost so much but chooses to walk on in life. Plus Dr. Ratio's note to Aventurine was very Ratio, no-nonsense but also wants him to live on despite their differences. The Aventio fans are eating it up but it's still a nice gesture from Ratio.

Speaking of Sunday, I said I wanted him to get his revenge as a treat but I wasn't counting on him almost killing Aventurine with whatever Harmony power he put on him. Sure the man lost his sister to an unknown murderer, and the light cone memory of them of a simpler time is sad. There's still a few unanswered question about him and Robin's relationship, like if Robin's fondest memories of are the pretend concert between her and Sunday, why is ti as adults she only just got back to Penacony, and why the Harmony isn't in sync anymore that caused her voice to lose it's tune. Also Sundays controlling attitude and his raven bird watching in every scene he's in makes me think the once closed siblings may not be as close anymore

Also with the reveal of what "Gallagher's" role in the story is, the drink he made for my Trailblazer fits a bit TOO well. I don't completely believe he's working alone, but his association with the Something Unto Death meme has me excited for his role next patch. Let my chill bartender man be a bit shady as a treat. Truly the "most normal human in the game of werewolf" (Thanks Shaoji)

Also to no one's surprise, Sam & Firefly are one in the same. While I am interested on how the last Stellaron Hunter is gonna be like and what their deal is, it's a shame most people like em were spoiled by the twist since it makes Firefly and Sam SO much more interesting.

But overall 2.1 has been AMAZING in terms of characterization and with 2.2 being set to be the "climax" of Penacony's Story I can't wait to see what they do with the plot threads they have been cooking up.

Hope this isn’t weird but I love the little mini comic you made where Signless finally meets up with Mindfang in person after reading through her lost diary. I do love the idea of him forming a parasocial relationship with her through only reading her writings, lol.

I’ve been inspired enough to start considering an AU where Signless survives his execution, but instead of returning to the restless masses, turns to the sea instead and joins with Mindfang. Haven’t settled on why yet, but I’m leaning towards him knowing that returning to his family (if he ever found them again) would only endanger them further. The biggest snarl would be how Mindfang’s very dubious relationship with Dolorosa would transpire, if at all. Yet, if Mindfang really did start to secretly pine after the mutant she’s got stowed away on her ship, maybe she’d seek out his adoptive parent for more benign reasons.

I honestly really like that idea you suggested of them meeting once before, if only briefly after her ship starts skulking around a nearby shore. Maybe that’s why he turns to her after everyone believes him to be dead. After all, trying to carve out a new life on the ocean might not be too bad alongside the high blooded pirate captain who pretends she only pities you. Mindfang is not known much for altruism, after all.

An idea on how he could survive his execution:

Imagine if Rosa had been a daywalker from the start. Maybe she had initially died fleeing from the caverns with the Signless grub from a cave system full of hostile jadebloods and drones. But instead of fading away, she woke up under the blazing sun, her silken robes shielding the young Signless from harm.

With the world assuming her dead, she could raise him in peace, without being pursued as a 'runaway jade'.

However, to sustain herself, Rosa needed blood and often sought (with permission) from him, potentially leading the Signless to inherit her daywalker abilities, in death where he bleeds, in an irony it could have triggered something in him?

With the Dolorosa and Mindfang thing:

Regarding the Dolorosa and Mindfang situation, the timing of Signless reaching Mindfang would be crucial and depends on the outcome you want in the au.

It could take her ship several months or half a sweep to locate Dualscar's whereabouts, with him likely keeping a distance from Mindfang to avoid any association that might tarnish his title.

Afterall, if Mindfang was close to Darkleer, even potentially moirails (?) then the Signless' execution was one of the biggest betrayals in history, essentially the Empress' Executioner sparing the disciple of a false prophet would enrage the Grand Highblood and his church and every other Imperial on the planet.

So to avoid Dualscar's head being on the block, he could avoid meeting Mindfang for a while until things cool down, especially as Signless' mother is now on his ship as a slave.

In that time Signless could have established a close relationship with Mindfang and her pirate crew. Perhaps they even had a Rapunzel 'I've got a dream' moment where he realises that such brutes also have dreams, and some crew are ex-communicated clowns who didn't wear makeup and had they not come to a life of piracy they would have been slaughtered, or tealbloods fleeing from the corrupt justice system, or olives whose forests were burnt down carelessly or yellowbloods fleeing being turned into powering batteries e.g.

I know we see a common theme of Vriska and Aranea mind controlling their crews, but I really would imagine Mindfang as someone who doesn't rely on mind-control so often as it feels a bit like a 'easy win' and mindcontrolling her crew for centuries would be so impossible lol I really hope they were a rag and tag family who genuinely respected one another and voted her a Captain based on her expertise rather then conditioned because how would she go to sleep at night, surely they would mutiny while she slept and wasn't being influenced by her control?

Why he might go to Mindfang over his family ideas:

I think this could add an interesting conflict. Either Signless had a vision in the years before he would die where he would know where his family would be after death (even more reason why he doesn't want to face them) and wants to prevent Mindfang doing what she does.

Or he doesn't know but finds himself drawn to Mindfang like a lighthouse beacon (light player after all) perhaps the 'Sufferer's Rage' has changed him emotionally, and he doesn't want his family to see him become a replica of a man he once was, and perhaps he finds his new rage and short temper for the Imperials more better fitted in boarding a pirate ship.

Should he become a stowaway on her ship, perhaps she makes him go through some trials when he's brought to her quarters (e.g I'll make a man out of you >.> type trials where he has to climb the mast in stormy weather to prove he's one of them, or he ends up saving her life? Or maybe he's just a good cook who gains the crew and Captain's favour that way <.< as I doubt Mindfang can cook for shit)

Or Mindfang could give him a little fighting training montage where he can finally begin to use his scythe, kind of befitting it's the same weapon the grim reaper wields as he could take on a 'grim reaper' kind of moniker as his new pirate identity.

Maybe they both eventually become aware that his mother is on Mindfang's kismesis' ship, perhaps Signless talks about his family to her but Mindfang doesn't know who 'Rosa' is when she see's her on Dualscar's ship for the first time, she just thinks she's another slave but then she see's Signless' anger begin to reach boiling point again when he recognises his mother. (Dualscar vs an angered Sufferer, Mindfang Dolorosa ancestral showdown??????)

I suppose the outcome of such a showdown would end based on how well signless and mindfang end up getting along in the months or even sweeps before eventually running into Dualscar and his ship. Mindfang may know that if she doesn't do what her fate says, it could doom the entire timeline and their descendants will all be doomed - if Mindfang asked the oracle how her kismesistude would end, just like she asked who would kill her - then her fate could be locked and that she's meant to end the night angering Dualscar so that he'll die by the Grand Highblood as her fate describes.

They could both totally break the entire timeline with this, and at what cost? Could it summon an angry Demoness? Would it piss of Scratch if Mindfang puts Signless over her destiny? <.< This is the drama I live for.

At that point it could be when people are starting to begin to forget about the Executioner's betrayal and the Signless' teachings as they both fade into obscurity. So Signless will also be faced with a similar crossroads, whether he wants to doom the timeline to resurrect his own name and teachings. If Mindfang, Signless and his mother manage to get away, what would happen? Would he begin preaching? Would Mindfang even want to associate with him then? Or would he be too different to go back to that life? That too could doom the entire timeline.

How he could find her?:

Chances are with the connection Mindfang has to Darkleer (His Executioner) perhaps he goes to seek Darkleer out first to try and find where the Disciple was (having his last memory be her running away traumatised) but is met with the realisation that perhaps he should hang back and not reveal the fact he's alive or retraumatise her more with the 'ghost' of him.

However he has nowhere to go, so while he's hovering around he instead finds Mindfang coming out of Darkleer's exiled house and tails her back to her ship? Just some ideas? I'm frothing at the mouth I haven't talked about signfang for so long with someone jwiasjd

i don't think jill would put daniel in the nerve gas house, mainly because it's not testing eric. My initial thought was it would be Eric in the house but that wouldn't really last very long considering everyone in there recognizes him. In lieu of creating an entirely new character i think the guy from the start of 2 would be in the house- since he was an informant who worked with/for kerry and eric.

Does kerry survive? she probably could, but isn't the point of 2 that eric could also? people tend to forget that kerry wasn't a great person, she was shown encouraging eric's violent behavior and suggesting that he destroy jigsaws stuff (not to mention she had an affair with eric while knowing he was married-idk if that was ever confirmed or just popular theory/subtext). Kerry might be more level-headed, but in the end I think Jill would get to her.

Avataro Sentai Donbrothers Series Review

Before going into the series proper, I want to quickly cover the Don Onitaijin Expansion Set. The new hips have a lot more posability, but only the hips; Don Robotaro has nothing else. I like the new hands, and I think the fan and chair are cool for display purposes, but the backdrop is just a cardboard screen; I really wish it had some small plastic clips for the edges to keep it at a good angle and weighed down. And the new hips don’t have the C-clips on the back, so you can’t put the shield there for Kiwamii, but you can form it otherwise. Overall, it’s neat, but probably not worth it, and if you really want to experience the hips, I’d suggest getting the Murasame version. Hard to go wrong with black and gold. Now, onto the show!

The Good: I think we could all tell from the first poster that this was going to be a very crazy series in many ways. Rather than having a plot, it runs a series of subplots, with almost every character having one that is slowly touched upon and wrapped up by the end of the show. They ranged in exposure and importance, but they did reward you for watching every episode.

There were so many characters... Tarou took to typical complaints you hear about Red Rangers and turned them on their head. He’s a total chosen one, perfect at everything, and higher than thou, but everyone hates him for it. He’s so perfect it’s annoying, and while everyone eventually warms up to him, his personality does rub people the wrong way through most of the show. It’s a great and hilarious interpretation of those tropes.

Before the series was fully announced, and knowing that the X1s and X6s are usually the oddballs, I was thinking this would be the perfect time for a female Red Ranger, and while of course that didn’t happen, we did end up getting a female lead O_O Haruka was pretty interesting, with her subplot revolving around being accused of plagiarism. And since she had the most internal monologues, a lot of screen time, and opened and closed the season, you could consider her the main character. While her subplot ended very abruptly, it also ended in a totally extreme and insane way befitting this series.

Saruhara didn’t have a subplot, but he was very involved in other characters’. He was a very unique character, but I really don’t have much to say about him apart from that?

I was totally expecting Inuzuka and Kijino to come to blows and kill each other over Natsumi early on and get replaced by people in normal costumes. Didn’t happen, happy it didn’t, and I do actually appreciate how weird their designs are and that they stuck with them for the entire show. Inuzuka and Kijino had parallel and intersecting subplots involving them being in love with a woman and her monster clone. I’m actually pretty happy with how this series of subplots ended. Yes, Inuzuka didn’t end up with Natsuki, but I feel like this was probably the happiest ending these characters could have gotten, with both of them ending up with someone who cares about them, even if it isn’t the person they started the series with.

Jiro’s an odd duck. He’s pretty important for the first 10 or so episodes after he shows up, then he just kinda shows up during fight scenes until the end of the show when he suddenly becomes relevant again. He is an interesting character, having two personalities with separate transformations, it’s mostly his later revelations feel unearned, like that may not have been his original direction.

Sonoi is one of my favorite types of comedic characters. The serious, stoic character that does silly things that don’t match his character. He might be my favorite character from the show. His subplot was growing to love humans and his weird semi-romance with Tarou (which I describe that way, but I ate it up).

Sononi had one of the best and most nuanced character evolutions across the show, slowly going from a somewhat vain character that doesn’t understand love, to totally love struck, but in a very believable way. Her subplot was tied into Inuzuka’s, and I’m happy they did end up together. Even if Inuzuka did love Natsuki, hearing her catchphrase again at the end of the show, “I bet you say that to all the girls,” really redefines their relationship we see through flashback. He was very faithful, but she never expected him to be, while Sononi saw and respected that commitment, eventually wanting it for herself, but not wanting it enough to ruin the relationship he already had. A+ character.

In comparison to the other two, Sonoza doesn’t have as much going on. A decent comedy character that paired well with Haruka. He was a complementary player in Haruka’s story and development, but didn’t have a lot going on by himself.

Don Murasame isn’t really a character. He’s like if Zubaan could talk. I like him, he’s cool, but they didn’t really do a lot with him apart from be rebellious on occasion. I do like that he stood with the team in the finale.

And last we have the returning Kaito. No idea why he returned, but he was a nice addition that added an air of (unanswered) mystery. I really hope we learn what his whole deal is in the V-Cinema crossover with Zenkaiger.

The Bad: The show isn’t without its issues. The series has an issue of hyper fixating on a specific subplot or a character to the detriment of other aspects of the show. As I mentioned, Jiro and Murasame were two characters who were hurt by this focus, having a decent amount of buildup when they first appeared, but fell off shortly after. There were also a few minor elements to were left to the wayside, like Tarou, Jiro, and Murasame’s ability to turn into tiny avatars, or the team’s ability to turn into other Sentai members.

The ending also comes out of nowhere. It feels like the sealing of the Bestial Forest was supposed to be the series’ climax, but they had so much they needed to wrap up afterward that it killed the momentum. This is coupled by the fact that, the longer the series went on, the more it feels like a slice-of-life comedy rather than a Sentai series. Like, the characters in this series are great, but without the typical dynamic ending Sentai is known for, it feels like the ending was a bit of a fizzle.

There was also a lot of unanswered world building. The Anoni lose a lot of importance and screen time as the series goes on, we don’t learn a lot about the Cerebrans, or the weird digital doors, or who Mother is, or what’s up with Kaito being there. There’re a lot of unanswered questions.

Overall, it’s a good season, with very strong characters, but fumbles some of the more Sentai elements of the show. As for my toy recommendations for this year, I would suggest Black Onitaijin Murasame since it’s a single purchase with the improved hips (and a great color scheme), and pick up either or both Toradragonjin and Palanquin Phoenix if they suit your fancy.

I'll be honest, it feels more than a bit gross seeing people sexualize canonically asexual, agender characters.

Like, I'm not even talking asexual or agender as individual preference, I mean asexual biologically as a species.

It's super effing weird to see people sexualizing gorons, ya'll!

We don't have a single scrap of evidence to suggest that they reproduce organically &, in fact, there's more evidence suggesting that they don't. It's ikely being done asexually & without need for a partner as they are literally born out of the earth itself, evidently even being done unconsciously, meaning that they simply don't have the equipment to do that sort of thing.

They're likely only considered "male" due to their masculine traits, man! They likely didn't even have a concept of guy or girl before meeting organic species like the Mogmas!

I feel similarly when it comes to Namekians. Yes, by all accounts, Piccolo is physically hot & his personality, especially as he's become, is very appealing.

BUT...

Something about the fact that he isn't able to feel those things is an immediate turn off.

Like, it feels wrong to sexualize him.

So, it isn't just the fact that I find gorons unattractive.

Ok so Lizzie at first was kinda iffy on the new additions to the crew but she warmed up WAY quicker than Chip did, mainly because Edyn kinda became the big sister to her and chip aswell and she was happy to have another girl around even if edyns a bit older yknow?

For Gillion, it took him a WHILE to get used to the oversea and Lizzie does play little jokes on him but will always end up actually explaining it to him and Edyn if she needed help aswell compared to Chip who often took jokes too far

Lizzie is ATTACHED to the Tidestrider siblings whenever they are on an island, because obviously the kids don't know the whole situation but they know bad people are after gil and Edyn so little Lizzie is fully convinced she can fight off anyone who comes by

Also Edyn taught Lizzie how to swim in this au, even though usually her or Gil would just let Lizzie ride on their back as they swam (chip was made to swim /j)

Let's just say her reunions with either Tidestrider sibling are Tense, Gillion's less so because by that time it's a known thing that Gillion has had his memories locked away, so she's more frustrated what became of someone she considered a sibling- plus out of chip, Edyn and herself... She is more chill for Gillion to sit with, mainly because she's the only one where when Gillion looks at them he can tell they are mourning the boy he used to be but can't remember being, Lizzie just takes him as he is now and doesn't bring up his lack of memory

Edyns is TENSE man, she assumed Chip and Lizzie had died after hearing that the sea turned completely black and even has rose tattoos to symbolise them, so when they reunite (thanks Caspian) Edyn feels so much Relief but... To Lizzie this Older Sister who was meant to look after them, who she held out hope would eventually turn up because she knows they got away, didn't even bother looking (obviously Lizzie doesn't know about edyns curse at this point)

I hope that makes sense for lizzie and eventually they come to an understanding but yeah I definitely need to work on her part of the au more so Uwbsusb again any suggestions or critique are super welcome!!

Edyn's curse is basically that she can never touch seawater again, it burns her and it she stays in it too long she will end up with burn marks- her gills also seal up in saltwater so uhh the best thing I can compare it to is what happens to devil fruit users in one piece!! They get extremely weak and begin to sink/pass out in the sea, just add on the burning and there's edyn's curse!

It's so she wouldn't ever be able to return to the trench, since she'd obviously know where it was and when Gil is taken back she's a full on teenager so-

Honestly it's a salt in the wound deal, because she lost her leg thanks to these Triton soldiers and they were certain she was going to die on that beach and yet they STILL cursed her in the slim chance she survived, which she did but it was a miracle

Her ships called the sunken pearl and that's because there's a rune carved into it that allows a bubble to form around the ship, so it works like a submarine!! So she can at least still see her home without being harmed!!

Also the rest of the black rose? I really gotta relisten to the one shot but drey fully goes hey is this daycare now can I bring my nieces/hj

Arlin is kinda glad chip has more Actual Child Friends though that poor man always gets roped into pranks or the kids just LAUNCHING themselves at him

Captain Rose spends the most time with Edyn probably, she's eager to learn a lot! But he does sit and tell tales of past adventures to the kids

I did write fanfic back in the day! Mostly it was for OC stuff and I have long since purged it from my DA gallery (not sure if my FF.net account still exists or what's in it o_o) because it wasn't very good XD

I have written a couple of Ghost Trick fanfics on AO3 for my own self indulgence and I did enjoy writing them.

I did have some Rayman centric plots in mind that I wanted to turn into comics, but since my comic skills are pretty sub-par maybe turning them into fanfic would be a better idea? I just feel a little cheeky as I don't read much fanfic, so it seems a little hypocritical of me to dump fanfic on people when I don't read much of it myself...you know?

Hmm, but who knows. Maybe I'll take your suggestion onboard. It might help even just to get the story on paper to better adapt it into a comic in the future? Hmmmmmmmmmmm
