I know it’s a silly thing to get hung up on, but it drives me crazy to read a transmigration/isekai type story with a vaguely historical setting and have the clothing style be all over the place. Is it modern or not? Why do some dresses have backs and other are backless? What is going on with sleeves and straps? Why do some characters have ballgowns and others have thigh high slits in their gowns? Is the style form fitted or intentionally built up? Relaxed or structured? Flats, slight wedge, or full on stiletto? Are ankles considered taboo or not? Idk, it’s okay to be anachronistic but it really screws with setting up a world if the fashion isn’t at least consistent.

Are there any Otome Isekai originals and fanfics that embrace the fact that the Isekai itself is a horror?

You wake up and boom your a fictional character in a fictional setting and you have an idea of how the past &/or present &/or future goes.

why/how are you here? What/who caused you to take another person identity?

Where are they now? What do you do in a body that doesn't belong to you, that the original would rightfully hate for you having instead of them?

Worst is the people aside from the body-theft victim. Will they ever learn your acting in their stead? Will the ever realize the original is gone? Where is the original?

If they like the body-snatcher instead of the original will they try to keep them their?

What about those who wanted to confront and gain closure from with the original?

What about the original's loved ones?

Wasn't this once a fictional universe? Did it become real? Why was it fiction in your world? Does this world have free will? Can you act out of character?

Horror that is inherent to the Otome Isekai premise I've mentioned and not mentioned is RIGHT THERE and I don't see enough done with it!

Like people will write Otome Isekai and utterly ignore the Horror in stealing another person's life body and identity and place! Being displaced across entire worlds!

I don’t know why it’s become some sort of romantic trope in manga/manhwa but the idea that a man saying “I’ll buy everything in this store for you!” as a gesture of love or affection is just idiotic. It fails to consider the person’s interests, preferences, or even appearance because no matter how bougie a store is, there is no store in the world in which every item actually looks good on/fits one person. It doesn’t show devotion or care, it’s just some asshole with more money than sense.
