Happy Sim Saturday, cornflakes! :D This time I've actually scheduled the post for the right time, XD.

Seto's aspiration is Hardcore Gamer (by Ilkavelle), and his traits are Genius, Geek, Perfectionist, Competitive and Arrogant (both by Kuttoe).

Mokuba's aspiration is Leader of the Pack, and his traits are Insider, Genius, Loyal and Good.

Roland's aspiration is Super Parent, and his traits are Calm (by Kuttoe), Proper, Serious (by Chingyu), Loyal and Family-Oriented.

Marik's aspiration is Living Life on a Whim (from Lifetime Aspirations), and his traits are Genius, Adventurous, Loves Outdoors and Noncommittal.

Ishizu's aspiration is Successful Lineage, and her traits are Good, Calm, Genius, Family-Oriented and Bookworm (just a HC).

Rishid's aspiration is Big Happy Family, and his traits are Stoic, Loyal, Family-Oriented and... that's it, ^^;. Maybe now that his life doesn't have to revolve around Marik anymore (and I have Growing Together), he'll pick up some more!

All these cornflakes except Marik and Ishizu are so tall I had to shrink them to take their headshots, XD (I firmly believe that Mokuba ends up taller than Seto).

Ship It

What made you ship it? Notably, I ship Kaiba with almost everyone. (Not Mokuba, not Gozoboro. Maybe not others, but those are my hard lines.) I spend too much time thinking about Kaiba and Kaiba ships. I have written more Kaiba than anyone else in Yugioh, probably anyone else period. And I spend a LOT of time seeking out Kaiba-centric fanfic, and guardshipping shows up a surprising amount, all things considered. This out of the way... One of my first Yugioh fics (and I think my first ever on AO3) was a violetshipping/puppyshipping porn AU fic with Isono as Kaiba's fluffer. I chose him because he's Kaiba's servant in canon and it felt right at the time. I have 0 regrets, and I can't recall having seen Kaiba/Isono in fic before that. That was a me choice and I'm sticking with it.

What are your favorite things about the ship? Ok so, I love that Isono has been there for Kaiba regardless of what this would mean for him personally. Most of the time I imagine this as fatherly, and not ship dynamics, especially in canon. But if I'm off exploring being Problematic TM, there's a kind of safety in that that I think would be freeing for Kaiba. He could ask for things that he wouldn't ask others, because he'd trust Isono not to say jack about it. He's always around and available, so there's nothing weird to cover up, and Isono is willing to do what Kaiba asks. I also just ... like the idea of Isono knowing too much because he's Kaiba's personal guard. Walking in on situations he shouldn't, or even there being a bit of a voyeurism thing there as he monitors Kaiba's personal security (intentional or not, doesn't matter).

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I don't think so? I don't know what popular opinions on this ship even are, although I can guess that the age gap, difference in status, etc. would squick a fair number of people, so even shipping it might be unpopular?

Has anyone thought about Roland/Isono having a deck of his own? This man referees Battle City and is so deeply involved with the KaibaCorp tournaments, knowing all the rules and how the game is played.

I'd probably give him Raphael's guardian deck, or something similarly themed

this is pretty random but I adore the headcanon that Roland/Isono and Fuguta were ex-special ops hired by Seto through KC's old military contracts. they both thought "Oh yeah babysitting the youngest CEO in Japan, and its a gaming company now??? this will be a nice, chill retirement job" and then Seto immediately jumped out of a helicopter and they both realized they fucked up real fast but the pay and benefits are just too good

I'm thinking Meredith and Roland need a third kid. Like Roland has claimed Iris and River and Kaiba and Mokuba. Those are his kids he is a father of four but why not a father of five?

Also because I think it'd be really funny to have this tiny lil bean running around KaibaCorp in her dad's sunglasses acting like she is now the right hand man and Setos like "this is your guy's new boss everything she says goes."
