I'm absolutely sure I'm better off without having read the books when it comes to watching Foundation, and still, it has its what-the-fuck-moments, but I love it so much, it's just so goddamn enjoyable that honestly? I don't even give a single flying fuck about what should be. I don't care. I take it as it is, thank you very much.
ok if a solar powered android HAD to kill a vampire because sunlight, and I’m thinking of Hatsune Miku with huge solar panel Twintails and a leek canon (I think any alium plant can kill a vampire when launched with enough force), would it violate the laws of robotics?
I wanna write a fanfic where she’s a secular vampire hunter who uses solar power, aliums, and a leek knife to the chest after decapitation to kill vampires
Me: Oh Asimov, I've finished your first two Robot books and am about to start The Robots of Dawn. I can't wait to see what themes you explore in this one. "What does it mean to be human?" "Where do we draw the line between organic and artificial life?" "Can robots fee-"
Asimov: Incest
Me: ...
Asimov: ...
Me: Like a creator having relations with his creation?
Asimov: That too.
Me: What?
Asimov: Father. Daughter. Fuckin'. They're adults, they live for like 300 years so they might as well right?
Me: What?
Asimov: Don't worry, the father refuses the daughter. The rejection deeply traumatizes her.
Me: What?
Asimov: If you're concerned we don't spend enough time on it, don't worry, a significant portion of the book is devoted to it.
Just watched Bicentennial Man (1999) and wow that was really fucking good I enjoyed it immensely.
I do wish they'd try again with it and make it a TV series cause that'd actually make more sense to delve into a story going over 200 years. The pacing felt a bit fast cause of it only being 2 hours but they managed it well. Also so they can retcon it to have him marry Rupert Burns cause that man explored his body more that Portia ever could.
