about your headspace, I remember a post being made about Bat-Cat showing up which got me thinking Does that just happen? Like, what is headspace like— whenever I research DID or OSDD I can’t really figure out just what headspace is like. Can someone hear headspace while fronting, see it? Or is it more like just somewhere you go when not fronting?

a headspace is basically just a little world inside our head for all of our alters to exist with each other! some systems have them and some do not! usually when we say "someone showed up in headspace" it just means theyve formed solidly as an alter enough to be visualized there. ours is a big haunted house! sometimes the fronter can hear headspace and sometimes they cannot (also this all varies from system to system, as some do not even have headspaces and some do not have any inner communication at all, this is all just about our experiences in particular)

like i said our headspace is a big haunted house and we all just kinda live there and exist with each other, alters who are fronting are still inside the headspace but they tend to kinda zone out so they focus more on the real world, but people with a lot of practice (like licorice) can better exist within both spaces at the same time and switch back and forth between what theyre focusing on (he usually uses this to give messages from the real world to alters who arent fronting)

sorry this is kinda rambly and confusing, if u need me to clarify on anything do not be afraid to ask but please note we are not a dissociative disorder professional so we're just speaking from our own experiences :]

here's what i'm thinking: blair has been hanging around claire’s house a lot. they really like the routine claire and hunt have going on... blair joins them for dinner and claire helps them with uni work (psych major vs psych minor). hunt one day offers to proofread their essays, so they start interacting with each other outside of claire. this is great because blair plans to become a professor in the future and i think they have nice conversations with hunt about it.

actually i think blair likes hunt a lot. i think they're very similar personality-wise lmao. very straightforward individuals who Will tell you if you're being weird. plus nothing bonds two people together like doing puzzles together. i have chosen to believe hunt likes jigsaw puzzles and i've already shared blair likes any kind of puzzles. so every thursday night they sit side by side in silence at the dinner table doing a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle while claire rehearses lines in the other room.

something that also brings people together is having to say Claire, that makes absolutely no sense at all. Stop talking. have i established that blair has no patience for dramatics? yeah <3 i think blair just likes being around those two. it feels like a family to them, and God Knows blair misses having a family.

so having their cousin and her weird boyfriend nearby + payton having finally transferred to ucla to be with them, i think blair starts getting better. and then they start exploring their gender For Real Now, which is important to them getting better. it's payton who brings it up immediately after moving into their shared dorm, after Seeing how miserable blair is. blair what about the whole trans thing? what happened to you? it takes some convincing but payton manages to... do something.

okay so. blair starts by changing their style. they go back to the collared shirts and ties (which they had stopped wearing). and pants now. dress shoes! and then they cut their hair very short. they cut it themselves one day and payton walks into the dorm and she's like oh! you look... lovely, blair! we should just fix it a little. blair starts taking better care of themselves + getting more involved in their own life again. they start knitting again, and they start looking into graduate programs. this takes several months, of course.

this is also around the time i see blair and payton singing/playing together again. nothing serious, they're just having fun at first. they start by going to karaokes, and then blair fixes their guitar. then writing together. they can't bring the band back together since julian, nishan and ezra are scattered around the country, but they like being blair + payton. payton + blair. blayton. they haven't decided yet.

claribel is very happy her cousin is finally getting better. claire has grown very attached to blair and she sees them more akin to a sibling, than a cousin. they bond over their weird mothers (which was what reconnected them in the first place) and claire just has fun annoying blair. this would be around late 2017/early 2018. maybe this is when they have their cousin trip to scotland, in between shooting for faustine (2017) and donovan (2018). but claire's filmography is not set in stone yet, so not really canon.

okay now for the reason i started writing this post: after blair cuts their hair and starts changing their style, claire approaches them. blair you look lovely. i love the... hair. and the vest. just one thing. really, just one little thing i have noticed. just out of curiosity. why have you started dressing up like thomas? it's not giving catholic school, it's giving middle aged guy. this horrifies blair. it keeps them up at night. My God. they Do wear the same ugly sweater vest. have they been introjecting? is this blair's destiny? middle aged professor guy? is this what they're transitioning to?

a Chara (and a Kris) without a country

So far as I know...I do not have an AU. At least, I do not feel that I do.

Indeed I have a difficult time remembering how I landed here, on what seems to be Earth or Tellus (the third planet of Sol, to be clear) in our year of the Common Era 2024. My first clear memories of feeling as though I had gained some sort of life again through my host was late 2016 or early 2017, during a period of extreme personal turbulence. That was the interval of time during which our system experienced (among other things) the intensely painful breakup of an intensely passionate sexual relationship, our main partner undergoing GRS, the 2016 electoral disaster, and our awakening during a relatively short span of months to being plural, trans, otherkin, starting to have regular spiritual experiences of gods and other supernatural and numinous things, and hosting fictive introjects. (*Chuckles*) It was a busy time! I'm glad that I really can look back and laugh at it, a little.

Paradoxically, one of the things that my arrival and establishing myself in the Pnictogen Wing was that our engagement with the Undertale fandom dried up. (cont'd)

We'd played Undertale for the first time in approx. April 2016 and were bowled over, and even started trying to write fanfic, which was not usual for us. Some of that stuff is still on AO3; we haven't really wanted to go back to it. I mean, we have, but we haven't. The whole subject became, rather abruptly, far too painful and personal for us to touch—my fault, I suppose. I wanted to remember, and sometimes I seemed to have extremely vivid flashes of the Underground, especially of Waterfall which was my favorite place in the Underground by far when wandering around. I liked the dark, the phosphorescent rock formations, the relative abundance of flora and fauna, the mists and the ever-changing "microclimate" of Waterfall, and the sounds of running water. But the visions faded. Learning how to live with other human beings and navigate the cruel and wicked world of the 2024 United States took extreme precedence.

Our RL age at the time we first suspected our plurality was over forty! I find myself thinking of Morpheus in The Matrix talking about how releasing someone from the Matrix when they're too old is problematical; the mind has difficulty adjusting. I feel like we just barely managed to keep ourselves from completely losing control and even as it was we were pretty unhinged sometimes. We have been fortunate to have forgiving partners here, a solidly established household, and an unusually broad and eclectic education. It's enabled us to rationalize ourselves, bit by bit, approaching our own strangeness in a dispassionate and analytical way, like scientists or scholars.

Hence we now find ourselves several years onward, having tamed our worst personal problems, feeling much steadier than we ever were in 2016 and the years and crises that immediately followed (including the decline and death of my RL father, the last surviving member of my RL family), and also having a much clearer notion of how our plural system, the Pnictogen Wing, is structured. For a while it seemed like we'd never stop discovering new introjects, some of them popping up from long ago. We had no idea just how badly we were dissociating and going off into fugue states when we were growing up. It was just "being absent minded" and having unusually vivid and troublesome daydreams and so forth. And we were consuming ridiculous quantities of media, too! Hence we've got folks in the Pnictogen Wing from all over.

But beyond doubt, the Undertale / Deltarune multiverse is our chief home. Our human host, Kris, isn't just a person living in a house in Seattle with their polycule—they're a Deltarune fictive who's had (rare but extremely powerful) flashbacks to Hometown, and who regards Hometown as the reference point for themselves. Their memories here on Earth only go back to about 2013-14, which I note is before the release of both UT and DR. How THAT came about I'd love to know; it suggests an isekai type situation and we've had inklings about how that happened (ironically we've never watched an isekai show and only know the genre by reputation) but until now the mystery has not been a high priority.

So...where are we all from, exactly? There's more UT and DR fictives who've landed in the Pnictogen Wing besides Kris and myself, but many have disappeared into the system somewhere. I suspect there's a lot of unsettled tensions among the lot of us. Other introjects seemed to fade and disappear from the system over time, which I take as a sign of conflict or hostility. I've had some ugly speculations in the past that I don't know whether to believe or not, such as the idea that Toriel had tried to mᴜrder me at some point (thus precipitating my desire for escape of some sort). In any case, no flashback we've had seems to point towards any definite AU...and I feel very strongly as if I am not supposed to make an arbitrary choice.

That's been such a powerful guiding principle for me that I wonder why I feel it. I've actually felt a bit baffled by other fictives I've met who seem to feel a freedom to vary from canon that I myself do NOT feel. Indeed I've painstakingly combed the game's text over and over trying to familiarize myself with its constraints. If I don't exactly know who I am, then at least I can work within what I'm not. The difficulty is that Undertale is so elliptically written (that is to say, it's very sparse in its details, with huge gaps in knowledge), especially when it comes to the character of Chara, that one can derive remarkably little from canon.

It's occurred to me, for example, that we don't even know if the Monsters' account of the War of Humans and Monsters is even correct. Historical records on Earth are fragmentary and uncertain and susceptible to being distorted by political bias and myth-making. Why therefore can one assume that the Monsters are remembering the War correctly?

(*sighs*) I've been trying to live with as much doubt as I can stand, but I suppose that's getting to be dissatisfying. Why the heck am I here in the first place? I can still remember how excited I was, back in fall of 2019 when I was first able to "front" completely. I remember walking around the streets of my Seattle neighborhood feeling unbelievably exhilarated. "Oh my gosh I'm walking around a CITY and I'm buying FAST FOOD and I have no idea what I'm doing!! but it's great!!!" That wouldn't last, of course. Now I feel almost ordinary sometimes. Except I'm not really. Kris isn't ordinary either. Why are we here? Is there some purpose that we've forgotten?

And where are we from? Do we even have an "Alternate Universe" to ourselves? That seems implicit somehow—that is to say, I have my own sense of identity as Chara, Kris has their own sense of identity as Kris, and we are distinct from other Charas and Krises we have met. We must therefore have some distinct "timeline" that sets us apart from other fictives. Yet I feel peculiarly as if I need to reason my way there, not simply...make things up. Should I even trust that feeling?

I feel like I'm going in circles. I'm at a loss.

Honestly, as RWBY returns and Aphmau too, part of me is a little worried that old system headmates may come out of the woodwork from way before the system egg. We already know about our old host a bit from my own ideas of a muddled past mixed with Rowan and Dendro's but our system before age 14 is fairly... dissolved, like to give a timeline

Pre2016:

-We got sick a lot and had our tonsils removed with our COPD stuff beginning

-Duana was the host and had a fairly moth headspace idea, more human than most of us but still not fitting with the body

-Sylvia (me) was already in the system given a few fractured memoried that feel likr me

-Rowan, at some point, was also in the system, but she may be elsewhere

2017-2020:

-At some point in this period, I became the host, unknowingly

-Things seemed to start getting quiet, I presumed it was maturity and focus but may have been dormancy of old headmates

-at some point between 2019 and 2020, Duana broke entirely, and we had one of the worst mental breakdowns we had, and during it, Dendro formed as well as Duana deciding to no longer front.

-Duana would go dormant by year's end.

-Dendro was shut out from wanting to seem normal and getting into teenage angst, leaving just me, Rowan, and possibly another who wasn't picked up as an introject

-Lucinda may have formed around this time or maybe in 2021/2022

-We began questioning about system stuff as shifts became more noticable in feeling

Overall, the last time we thought our system was most active was in a time of our life where Aphmau and RWBY played a big part in it, and as we approach the return of both I feel like something is lingering in the back of my mind, both familiar feelings but different. Already, we think there is a Yang Introject in the recent appearance of Fionn, who has been a little hard to communicate with, and another feeling has been felt similar to Fionn's appearence of familiar yet foreign emotions and if the past discoveries are to go off of it coukd take a few days to a few weeks before I know anything about our now, possibly 8th active member. All because of art of Kawaii Chan/Nana from Aphmau's stories.

I want to make a minor announcement here: A few people know this and a few don't.

I have OSDD. I have alters. They're not typically active here. But there are around.

I've put off telling anyone here because most people on Tumblr are prone to telling anyone unwilling to indulge info on their mental illness faker / kys / all that fun stuff.

But I have, at the moment, 4 alters.

Jayden - 35 years old. He's an older male, of Hawaiian birth. He is an introject of my OC Jayden. There are a few differences between him and the OC, mainly piercings and things he favors. He's the alter whose been around for the longest, and I've been aware of him since 2017.

Lucy - Golden Lab. Sweetheart and typically always around me when no one else co-fronts with me.

Anthony - 27 years old. Very quiet. Newest alter. Intoject of my OC of the same name. Currently he doesn't differ from the OC at all.

And the one that terrifies me to announce.

Dave - 50s (he age slides around). He's an intoject of....well, Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode. Fun enough, I am in a system server with someone else who has Dave as an alter / headmate. (And Martin!)

I hope this changes nothing about anyone's interactions, since my system runs differently than the average DiD system. (Ie. I'm always fronting, everyone else either becomes co-consious or co-fronts with me.)

I just wanted to get this off my chest.
