You know what’s a crazy butterfly effect we never talk about?? The musical film ‘Grease’ eventually leading to Olivia Rodrigo’s fame. Think about it:
The film ‘Grease’ was released in 1978, and its immense success led to the sequel ‘Grease 2’ (1982). In 1999 a script for ‘Grease 3’ was developed, but the project was shelved until 2004 when the script was adapted into ‘High School Musical’. ‘High School Musical’ was then released in 2006, becoming an instant hit and earning the film two sequels. The movie series had such lasting fame, that in 2017 a TV show inspired by the film series was developed titled ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ (‘HSMTMTS’ for short). Olivia Rodrigo was cast as one of the leading roles in the show, and was given the opportunity to write an original song for her character - the song she ended up writing titled ‘All I Want’. Upon the release of ‘HSMTMTS’ in 2019, ‘All I Want’ began gaining popularity and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. This gained Olivia interest from label executives, and she ended up signing a record deal with Interscope/Geffen. During Olivia’s time on ‘HSMTMTS’ she met and dated a fellow co-star, and their subsequent break up inspired her to write the song ‘driver’s license’. She then released ‘driver’s license’ as her debut single in 2021, and the song charted at number 1 and skyrocketed her to a whole new level of fame.
So without ‘Grease’, you wouldn’t have ‘High School Musical’, and without ‘High School Musical’ you wouldn’t have ‘HSMTMTS’, and without ‘HSMTMTS’ Olivia would not have written the song that got her a record deal or met the person who inspired ‘driver’s license’, and THAT is how Grease led to Olivia Rodrigo’s fame over 40 years after its release.

✨ for the record ✨
I don't condone parasitically and obsessively speculating about some celebrity's sexuality to the point that it may make them uncomfortable.
I do, however, like to engage in queer readings of their art in good faith in a way that isn't conspiratory. If something feels queer, I have an open (sometimes hopeful) mind about it, and I don't mind that the queer elements may or may not be fictional.
I also think celebrities should be able to present/experiment as they personally please, as long as they're not purposefully duping us for some marketing(?) tactic (which, of course, would be asshole behaviour but also it's rare so I don't worry really about it). We don't have the right to protest it, or demand an "explanation".
And of course, if a celebrity that I wonder may be queer happens to be straight, I have zero qualms about it, I am happy to see them support the community, and hope that continues to grow. I'm also happy to have found unique ways to relate my queerness to their art. I am also always grateful for all the other queer artists I already know and love.
(I do always secretly hope my favourites turn out to be queer—specifically bi!—so I can relate to them more. But that's a more personal, quiet sort of thing, and I understand it's a little juvenile.)

Grayson sighs
Olivia giggles: Grayson, honey. I'm pretty sure that's about the 13th time you've sighed since we started getting ready.
Grayson sighs: Has it really been that much?
Olivia: Quite possibly even more.
Grayson: I'm sorry. I'm just nervous is all.
Olivia: Grace.. you look super handsome, I promise. That suit... suits you.
Grayson: Thanks, but I'm sure you know that it isn't the suit that's bothering me.
Olivia: Really? 'Cause it's the third one you've tried on.
Grayson: ....
Olivia: Ohhh, come here, grumpy. Everything is going to be fine, I promise.
Grayson: Your dad hates me, Liv. Probably even more now that I whisked you away.
Olivia giggles: You didn't whisk me anywhere, Grayson. I wanted to come with you. I think my dad is coming around, seriously. We're going over there, aren't we?
Grayson: Yeah... but I still find it very hard to believe that he's come around to the idea of us together.
Olivia: Well, you shouldn't. You're an amazing, sweet, caring, thoughtful man. No one, not even my dad, shouldn't be able to see how wonderful you are. Unless they're blind or something.
Grayson laughs: That's very sweet of you, Liv.
Olivia: Besides, I think my dad knows how serious I am about us. And about just letting me live my life in general.
Grayson: Watcher, I hope so. I just want everything to go well. I know how much it means to you. And it means a lot to me, too.
Olivia: It will, Grayson. It will.
Grayson: I love you.
Olivia: I love you, too.
???: Knock knock!
Grayson and Olivia: Come in!
???: Well, don't you both look amazing?
Grayson: Thanks, mom.
Olivia: Hi, Bria! You look great, too!
Bria: So, tonight's the big night, huh? The face-off with Big Donny.
Grayson: Yeah, any last minute words of advice?
Olivia: Not that Grayson needs any!
Bria: Yeah, remember your mama is on speed dial and I will be there in a heartbeat to get Ol' Donovan together. Nobody disrespects my child. That includes you Olivia!
Olivia: Yes, ma'am.
Grayson jokes: You honestly could get a call from me, mom.
Bria: Just don't feel like you can't stand up for yourself. This is your life. As much as we want to write it for you as parents, it's up to you guys to build the life you want. It's our job to just support you.
Olivia: Now, that's great advice.
Grayson: She tends to give the best.
Bria: It's gonna go great and even if doesn't, you'll be happy you tried. Either way, you two crazy kids and that cat and my near future grand babies are going to be super happy.
Grayson laughs: Alright, mom. Let's get through this first.
Olivia: Thank you, Bria.
Olivia: Ready?
Grayson: As I'll ever be.

officially done with twitter
i shouldve done it years ago.. i shouldve left or just never made an account.
the toxic shi thats posted there is ASTRONOMICALLY disgusting
welcome to twitter where toxicity and praising one person while putting others down is the hottest trend in town!!1 🤡🤡
just saw MULTIPLE posts about bashing taylor swift while praising another artist (not just taylor swift, even olivia rodrigo ffs)
im pretty sure that you can praise one person while NOT bringing down another person... its pretty easy actually but apparently these clowns are not getting it. you can call melanie talented without calling another one ugly and untalented thats common knowledge but theyre apparently in another world called twitter
so maybe its time to OFFICIALLY ditch the clowns, get the crown and escape this toxic circus that ive been wanting to leave and move to the grave called tumblr apparently (people told me its dead so--)
