Boo - Jack Hughes
Tumblr media
I had no idea where this was going but it worked
Enjoy
Please request bitches, I need inspiration
wc:1.088 (credit to gif maker)
To Jack, there is nothing more sexy than a beautiful woman lying in his bed, completely ignoring him. Or maybe it was just you. To be fair, he can’t help it; Jack finds everything about you quite sexy, even when you haven’t paid a single ounce of attention to him in the past fifteen minutes, no matter what he’s done.
He tries everything. First, he calls your name, which you ignore. Then he starts making noises that you hate, which you ignore, and then he starts to remove his clothes, which causes you to flash him a quick glance, roll your eyes, and return to your computer.
He is about to give up when he decides he has one final trick up his sleeve. Removing himself from the chair, Jack puts himself face down on the floor, letting out a huge sigh.
Still nothing. So he goes again.
Three sighs later, you huff indignantly, shutting your computer.
“Whatever could you possibly be sighing about, Jack?”
Bingo. He turns to look at you, throwing you a sheepish smile.
“I’ve got a lot on my shoulders, babe.” Jack takes another deep breath and sighs dramatically. “Being rich, talented, and handsome is incredibly tiring work.”
You snort. “I bet, baby, it’s so hard being you.”
You give him a fake pout before moving to get off the bed, stepping over him on the way to the bathroom. He watches like a hawk as you grab a few things, pee, and walk back, stepping over him again.
“What do I have to do to get some attention around here?” He finally asks, throwing you a pointed glance as you ponder his question.
“J, I’m sorry, but you know I have to do this. I can give you all the attention in the world once I finish this discussion. Okay?”
He raises his eyebrow. “Promise?”
You nod, and he places his head back down when an idea pops in his head.
“(Y/N)?”
“Yes?”
“Ballpark, how long until you're done?”
He hears you sigh, and a part of him feels terrible, but he knows it’s worth it.
“Probably 45 minutes to an hour.”
He lets out an okay and gets up, gently pressing a kiss to your cheek, which you barely register him. He makes his way to the bathroom and hops in for a quick shower, using the new fall-scented soap that you got him that both love.
Minutes later, he takes a quick glance at you as he throws on some gray sweats, and he smirks, knowing he still has time. You’re beyond focused with your headphones on, and Jack genuinely believes he could drop dead, and you wouldn’t know.
He makes his way outside into the living space, seeing Luke sprawled across the couch, watching an Avengers movie on the TV.
“What’s up?” Luke questions, watching as he heads to the closet that holds their hockey gear.
“I got some stuff yesterday for a thing I saw on TikTok, and (Y/N) needs a fun night.”
Jack pulls out the various fall items that he won’t lie; he enjoyed picking out. There are snacks, little games, candles, a stuffed pumpkin, and anything else he thought you would like.
He moves into action, putting together the basket and calling for an Uber Eats order. Luke, realizing what is going on, begins to laugh.
“You got her a boo-basket?”
“Shhhh, she’s right In there.” Jack jerks his head toward his bedroom.
Luke throws up his hand in surrender. “Sorry, I just didn’t think this was your thing. You’re not great at the whole romance thing all the time.”
Jack throws him a stern look and gives the pumping a gentle squeeze. “You tell anyone, I’ll kill you.”
Jack finishes putting the basket together and places it on the center island. He then moves to dim the lights and light a candle, nodding at his good work.
“Alright, almost perfect.” He says, eyes landing on Luke. “Just one more thing.”
Luke shoots him a curious look. “What's that?”
“You’re here.” Jack points his finger toward the door. “Out.”
Luke rolls his eyes but doesn’t argue, heading toward the door. He doesn’t get far before stealing a couple of Halloween Oreos and throwing Jack a wink on the way out.
As the door slams shut behind Luke, Jack waits for what feels like an eternity for you to exit the bedroom.
He can hardly contain his excitement and nerves as he watches you walk in confused, taking in the cozy setup. You pause, and he smiles, but that’s wiped away when he sees tears welling up in your eyes.
He’s a second away from panicking when you walk over to him, throwing your arms around him in a bone-crushing hug.
“You did this for me?”
You pull back from him, and he gently pulls your chin up so your lips meet his.
“Actually, for Nico, but he’s running late, so I’ll guess you’ll work.”
You roll your eyes at him again, pulling him in for another sweet kiss.
“This is so sweet, J.”
Jack watches as you look through all the goodies, getting more excited with each item. When you get to the pumpkin plush, you wheeze it so hard to your chest, and he practically melts.
“I love it, Jack, seriously.”
He pulls you back into his arms, relieved that his surprise has had the desired effect.
“Good, you deserve it," he whispers, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead.
The evening continues as you both enjoy your favorite food that's just arrived. You cozy up on the couch, surrounded by the fall-themed goodies and the warm, dimly lit room. The candles flicker, casting a soft, inviting glow, and the two of you dive into the snacks and games Jack picked out, sharing laughter and watching your favorite Halloween shows.
It’s picture-perfect as the first movie starts to come to a close, and Jack can feel you staring at him.
“You know, you’re the most annoying boyfriend ever, but sometimes.” You pause, popping an Oreo in your mouth. “You do have your moments.”
Jack attacks you for your comment, flipping you both over and ticking your sides. You play fight for a minute before he stops, staring deep into your eyes as you smile.
“So, are you ready to fulfill your promise?” He raises his eyebrow, moving his head down to capture your lips.
You roll your eyes, grabbing his head and pulling him down.
“I’m all yours.”

Random BL Superlatives: 2023 Edition
It's the end of the year and I'm feeling the need to give out some awards! We talk a lot about best show, best actors, best writing, best directing, blah blah but I gotta be honest, these are the categories that really spoke to me this year. In no particular order:
Best supporting garment: Porsche’s sweater, A Boss and A Babe
Tumblr media
Did I create this entire list just to have an excuse to post about this sweater one more time? Maybe so.
Best performance despite a terrible wig: Daou, Love in Translation
Tumblr media
This man managed to perform one of the hottest scenes of the year with that bowl cut monstrosity on his head. Respect must be paid.
Best new terminology: BGP, Bump Up Business
Tumblr media
BUB gave us so many gifts, but I will always be most thankful for the business gay performance concept (BGP), a term that is highly relevant in discussions of the bl industry.
Best advice: "Unfuck it," Tien in La Pluie
Tumblr media
It's not only the succinct phrasing, but also the delivery method.
Best ex who deserved better: Alan, Moonlight Chicken
Tumblr media
Yes, I will be staying on the Alan apologist beat in 2024, thank you for asking.
Best unexpected needle drop: Wetter, The Eighth Sense
youtube
The moment this show captured my full attention.
Best WTF ending: The End of the World With You
Tumblr media
You can probably still hear my scream of "WHAT" echoing in the hills. (Actual ending not pictured in case y'all decide to watch).
Best gut punch line: "Have you been well? Without me?", Our Dating Sim
Tumblr media
Sure Shin Gi Tae, Lee Wan deserved it, but did I??
Best adorable child: Tane, Our Dining Table
Tumblr media
Need I say more??
Best weapon: sparkle murder dust, Khun Chai
Tumblr media
Truly the MVP of this show. I can't find an actual gif of the dust in action (too violent to be depicted) so enjoy these pretty men instead.
Best great character trapped in a bad show: Boston, Only Friends
Tumblr media
My beloved, I will seek vengeance in your name.
Best use of music to fuck me up: Plumeria, I Feel You Linger in the Air
youtube
Cocktail and Tee Bundit, you know what you did!
Best meal: Chicken curry and cheese naan, What Did You Eat Yesterday?
Tumblr media
Yes, this category is kind of a cheat so I can mention WDYEY on this list. And what about it!
Best unhinged energy: Nawin, Laws of Attraction
Tumblr media
He may not have succeeded at stealing back his man but he certainly stole the show.
Best bl horror: Grand Guignol
Tumblr media
I just need to make sure all you jbl fans know that this movie exists and that Issei fucked Mr Unlucky!!! IYKYK.
Best character comeback: Phupha, Our Skyy 2
Tumblr media
From boring stoic love interest to actually compelling and kinda funny leading man! See what a little flirting with Pat Jindapat can do for you?!

We adopt a dog with billie 🥺
adopting a dog
Billie Eilish x fem!reader
summary – you and Billie decide to take the next step in your relationship and adopt a dog
warnings – pure cuteness
a/n – thanks for the request anon <3 Just so you know, Luz is light in Portuguese
English is not my first language so there may be some errors.
Tumblr media
This gif isn't mine, I found it on Pinterest
–––
Billie and you had been together for two years. Your relationship had started unexpectedly but quickly turned into something deep and meaningful. Between tours and recordings, Billie always found time for the two of you, whether through long conversations into the night or quick getaways to peaceful places.
Billie's apartment in Los Angeles was your sanctuary. One night, while watching a movie on the couch, Billie turned to you with a mischievous smile.
"Hey, I was thinking... how about we adopt a dog?" She said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
You were surprised but also excited about the idea. "Really? Do you think we're ready for that?"
Billie held your hand, intertwining her fingers with yours. "I think so. Let's take a step forward, build something together. And besides, I've always wanted a dog. And you?"
You smiled, feeling a wave of happiness and love. "I’d love that. Let's do it."
(...)
The next day, the two of you went to a local animal shelter. There were so many adorable dogs, all waiting for a home. Billie looked like a kid in a candy store, examining each puppy with a huge smile on her face.
After an hour of searching, a light brown puppy with curious eyes caught both of your attention. He was a mix of breeds but seemed to be the perfect combination of energy and sweetness.
"This is the one." Billie said, kneeling down and petting the little puppy. "What do you think?"
You knelt down beside her, and the puppy immediately came to sniff your hand, wagging his tail frantically. "I think he chose us." You replied, laughing.
You completed the paperwork and finally brought the new family member home. On the way, you discussed names. After several funny suggestions, you decided on "Luz."
"Luz." Billie said, testing the name. "It suits him. He's going to light up our lives."
(...)
The first days with Luz were a mix of chaos and fun. He was full of energy, running around the apartment, chewing on slippers, and exploring every corner. Billie and you took turns teaching him basic commands, and he quickly became part of your routine.
One night, while Billie was at the studio, you were home with Luz, teaching him to sit. After several attempts, he finally got it. "Good boy!" You said, offering a treat.
When Billie arrived, you were exhausted but happy. She looked at Luz, lying at your feet, and smiled. "You're doing a great job." She said, hugging you from behind.
"We're doing a great job." You corrected, turning to kiss her.
(...)
As months passed, Luz brought even more joy and love to your relationship. Walks in the park, trips to the vet, and cozy nights on the couch became precious moments. Each day with Luz reinforced your commitment to each other and the happiness of building a life together.
One day, while walking in the park, Billie stopped and looked at you. "I love you." she said suddenly, with an intensity that made your heart race.
"I love you too." You replied, feeling warmth in your chest.
She held your hand and, with the other, petted Luz. "We're building something beautiful together. And I want to keep doing this with you, every day."
You smiled, holding her hand tighter. "Forever." You promised.
Billie smiled, and Luz, as if understanding the depth of the moment, barked happily, running around you both. It was the beginning of a new chapter, full of love, adventures, and, of course, the adorable Luz.

You’re finishing up breakfast, talking with Sarah as she tells you about a test she has coming up, when Joel shuffles into the kitchen, yawning widely as he scrubs a hand through his hair.
“My favorite girls,” he says, pressing a kiss first to Sarah’s cheek before wrapping his arms around your middle and leaning his head against your shoulder blade, eyes falling closed again. “Smells good.”
“I made eggs. Yours are cold because you kept hitting the snooze button,” you tease. You can feel his lips spread into a smile against your back. “Sit. Eat. I need to make lunches.”
He brings a palm up to turn your face to his, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips over your shoulder. The kiss is followed by three squeezes to your hip before he reaches past you to grab the plate you made for him, popping it in the microwave.
With the two Millers chatting behind you, you assemble their lunches. Sarah always requests a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, while Joel prefers to bring two ham and cheese sandwiches to work. They each get apple slices and a bag of chips, and you slip a Twinkie into Joel’s box as well, knowing he has a sweet tooth.
Which reminds you…
“Joel, don’t forget you have a dentist appointment at two,” you tell him.
“Shit. I mean, shoot,” he replies.
“Swear jar,” you and Sarah say in unison. The teen giggles as Joel grumbles under his breath, digging his wallet from his pants. He checks his watch. “Finish up, baby girl, we gotta get goin’.”
You watch as Sarah shoves the last of her toast into her mouth. Joel stands, sticking his plate in the sink and pressing a kiss to your cheek before he leaves the kitchen in search of his work boots.
“Babe! Have you seen—“
“On the porch!” You call, cutting him off.
You zip up Sarah’s lunch box, handing it to her as she flies through the kitchen.
“Thank you!” She calls, blowing you a kiss as she heads for the front door. You wave to her, watching through the bay window as Joel gets into the truck, waving through the windshield as he backs out.
You’re smiling to yourself as you clean up the sink, humming a vague tune as you stick the breakfast dishes in the dishwasher. Your mind drifts back to the night you met Joel Miller, about a year ago.
“Please tell me you’re not about to rent that,” a masculine voice asks from beside you, making you jump, nearly losing your hold on the DVD case you were reading, a copy of The Lord of the Rings that was sitting in the new release section.
The man eyeing the DVD case is tall and broad shouldered, with biceps straining the material of his t-shirt. He has curly dark hair and kind brown eyes that are looking at you expectantly.
“Oh, uh, I was thinking about it. Is it bad?” You ask. He runs a hand through his hair.
“No, no, it’s a great choice it’s just…my daughter just finished the book this week and I told her I’d rent her the movie when she did,” he admits.
“Oh! You go ahead and rent it, then,” you tell him, holding the case out to him.
“Are you sure?” He asks, reaching for it. His fingertips brush against yours, the slight touch enough to leave you craving more as you return his bright smile. “I’m Joel, by the way.”
After returning his introduction with your own, he lingers for a moment. You’re just staring at each other with goofy smiles on your faces.
“Could I…make it up to you? With dinner?” He finally asks.
“I’d like that, Joel.”
You finish the dishes and grab a rag to wipe down the counters when you notice the lunch box still sitting there. You can’t help the little laugh that escapes you.
Checking the time, you head back to the bedroom to get ready for your shift at the hair salon, resolving to bring Joel his lunch during your break.
________
Joel sees your car pull up at the work site and his face splits in a grin. He tugs his work gloves off and goes to meet you.
“Well, hello there, gorgeous,” he calls. God, he loves the way your cheeks turn the prettiest shade of pink just for him. “What’s the occasion?”
“The occasion, Joel Miller, is that you forgot your lunch at home,” you say, shaking the lunch box in your hand. He laughs.
“What would I do without you?” He asks, wrapping his arms around your shoulders. Your head tips back to look at him and presses a kiss to your lips. “Stay to eat with me?”
“Sure. Let me grab my lunch. I’ll meet you at your truck,” you say, squeezing his hip three times as you pull away. He tugs you back for another kiss, swallowing your giggles. “Joel, let me go.”
“Never, darlin’.”
________
You’re sitting between Joel’s legs, your back pressed to his chest, in the bed of the truck. He’s parked beneath a large tree, the shade a relief from the Texas heat as you both enjoy your sandwiches.
“What are your thoughts on marriage?” Joel asks, apropos of nothing. You blink.
“In general? They’re positive ones. Why?”
You feel him shrug beneath you. “Just been thinkin’ about it lately.”
Your smile makes your cheeks ache.
________
Joel stops at the store on the way home, a spring in his step from a good day. He scrutinizes the flower selection, hands on his hips as he tries to pick out a bouquet. His eyes land on a bouquet of bursting pink peonies.
Perfect.
On the drive home, he hums along to the classic rock radio, fingers drumming in the steering wheel, flowers settled on the passenger seat with care. His mind drifts back to the conversation at lunch, and how you’d grinned at him when he mentioned he’d been thinking about marriage lately.
And it’s the truth, he’d been thinking about it a lot. Every time he turned over in bed and slipped an arm around your waist, tugging you closer. Or when he’d come into the kitchen and find you bent over Sarah’s math homework with a furrow in your brow as you tried to help her, despite math being your weakest subject. Or finding the little notes left in his lunch box, scribbled I love yous on colorful paper that he keeps in his glove box for safekeeping.
He thinks about it every time he opens his wallet and sees the folded photo strip of you, him, and Sarah, squeezed into a photo booth at a carnival as you make silly faces at the camera. Or when you’re getting ready in the morning, slicking lip gloss onto your pretty lips and he wants to kiss it all away.
There are a million moments that he thinks about marrying you.
Joel walks in on one such moment this evening. You’re alone in the kitchen, humming as you stir something in the pot on the stove. He steps up behind you, wrapping an arm around your waist and pressing a kiss to your neck.
“Hey, baby,” he murmurs between kisses.
“Hey, handsome,” you reply, turning to face him. Your eyes light up when you see the flowers in his hand. “Those for me?”
“For my one and only,” he confirms, letting you take them from him. You press your nose to the blooms, inhaling deeply.
“They’re amazing,” you gush, moving around the kitchen to find a vase to fill with water. You hand them back to Joel and he removes the wrapping paper, using the kitchen shears to cut the ends off the stems.
You set a glass vase of water on the kitchen table and Joel tips the flowers into them, watching with a small smile as you arrange them to look their best.
“I love them,” you tell him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders.
“I love you,” he says.
________
Joel kisses you breathless, right there in the kitchen. His tongue slides against yours, his hands smoothing down your waist until they grip your hips and tug you closer.
“Gross,” Sarah comments from the doorway. Joel pulls back abruptly. He squeezes your hips three times before letting go, crossing to the doorway to pull Sarah into a hug.
“Set the table,” he tells her, ruffling a hand through her curly hair. She groans, batting at his hand and ducking away from him to grab the silverware.
The three of you enjoy dinner, followed by Joel starting up a movie that Sarah’s been begging to watch.
“Don’t fall asleep,” Joel tells her.
“I won’t!” Sarah insists.
She’s out cold twenty minutes later. Joel laughs silently.
“I’ll get her in bed,” he says, shifting out from beneath her and picking her up from the couch. “Meet you in the bedroom?”
You nod, turning the TV off and putting away the blanket the three of you had been sharing. You head upstairs to your shared bedroom, changing into one of Joel’s well loved t-shirts before climbing into bed, turning the bedside lamp on.
“Never gets old,” Joel says when he comes in a moment later. He reaches behind his head, tugging his shirt up and off.
“What’s that?” You ask.
“You, in my bed. In my clothes,” he says, shoving his jeans down his thighs and kicking them away. You raise an eyebrow at him. “I’ll put them in the hamper later, I swear, let me just hold you.”
He crawls into bed, flopping beside you with a groan and shimmying around until he’s pulled you into his body, tugging your leg over his hip and pressing his head to your chest with a sigh. You run your fingers through his soft curly hair.
“Love you,” he says into your chest.
“You sayin’ that to me or my boobs?” You ask, teasing lilt to your voice.
“Both, definitely both,” he confirms, lifting his head. He brings a hand to the back of your neck to drag your lips to his. The kiss is slow and syrupy, no rush and all the time in the world to enjoy each other.
Joel’s mouth opens against yours, tongue exploring at his leisure. His hand slides down your back until he grips a handful of your ass, tugging you closer until your pussy drags against his hardening cock.
You whine against his lips, and he repeats the action. “You feelin’ a little needy, baby?”
You nod, and he shifts forward, pressing your back to the mattress and hovering over you. His mouth trails across your jaw and down your neck, wet hot kisses marking you like a tattoo, his love seeping beneath your skin.
His calloused fingers drag your shirt up, bunching it up beneath your armpits to expose your breasts to the cool bedroom air. You squirm beneath him as he kisses your sternum before taking one pert nipple between his lips with little preamble.
His tongue swirls around your hard nipple before he draws back with a nip of teeth that makes you gasp. You can feel his grin against your skin as he moves to give your other breast the same treatment.
Joel slips a hand into your panties, finger sliding through your wet folds and he groans. “God, this pussy, baby. Always so fuckin’ wet for me.”
A finger dips into your entrance and you keen, pressing your head back against the pillow. He shushes you as he kisses your tummy. He withdraws his hand to your whine of displeasure.
Joel tugs your underwear over your hips, dragging them down your legs before he tosses them to the side. His hands press your legs apart so that he can position himself on his belly between them, face close to where you crave him most. He kisses your inner thighs, teasing you mercilessly.
“Joel,” you whine. Your fingers tangle in his hair.
He chuckles. “You want my mouth, sweetheart?”
“Yes,” you groan.
“Ask nicely.”
“Please, put your mouth on me, baby.”
He licks through your folds, swirling his tongue deftly over your sensitive clit. The sudden stimulation makes your hips buck against his face and he throws an arm over you to keep you still.
Joel is a man on a mission, pulling out all the moves he knows drive you wild. Circling your clit before sucking it between his lips, dipping down to your entrance to drive his tongue against you to drink up your essence. His teeth graze the bundle of nerves and you bite back a shout, hips fighting against his hold.
His free hand presses a finger to your hole, slipping inside you wet heat. He groans against you, the vibration of it making you whine. One finger becomes two that he curls against your front wall, grazing a spot inside of you that makes you see stars.
He looks up at you from between your legs, brown eyes shaded with lust as he works you until you shatter, your release dripping down his wrist as he slows his hand and draws out the swipes of his tongue in broad strokes.
You sink into the mattress, a boneless heap in the aftermath. Joel sits up with a smug smile, crawling over your body until his face hovers above yours.
“You wanna taste?” He murmurs, voice a low rumble you feel through all your nerve endings. You nod and he presses his fingertips to your lips, urging them to part. You lick the taste of yourself from his skin, tongue sliding over the digits reverently.
He presses against your tongue slightly before withdrawing, replacing his fingers with his lips and tongue in a deep and dirty kiss. You reach a hand into his boxers, gripping his length and pumping it leisurely. He hisses, hips flexing into your hold.
“Want your cock, baby,” you whisper, your thumb circling the head and smearing the drop of precum gathered at the slit around the crown. “Please?”
Joel shoves his boxers down in a hurry and you giggle at the display of desperation. He takes himself in hand, sliding himself through your wetness, bumping your still sensitive clit. He notches himself to your entrance, pressing forward in a slow slide until he’s pressed so deep and close you don’t know where you start and he ends.
His body is a welcome weight against yours as he flexes his hips, drawing back before snapping them forward in a harsh thrust. You gasp.
“That’s right, baby,” he says, teeth gritted. “This pretty cunt is all mine, huh?”
“Yours,” you agree, nails scraping against his shoulders. “Wan’ you to fill me up, Joel.”
His hips stutter. “Yeah? You want me drippin’ out of this pretty little pussy?”
“Yes, yes, yes,” you chant back. He bites at your neck before sitting up on his heels, your legs held up against one shoulder as he uses a rough grip on your thighs to slam into you over and over and over.
You have to slap a palm over your mouth to keep the noises you’re making at manageable volume. His grin is near feral.
“Can’t help yourself, huh, darlin’? Wanna scream so bad over how my cock’s making you feel,” he growls. Your eyes flutter shut as you let him command your body how he desires.
You can feel your second orgasm creeping up on you as your belly starts to tighten, like all your nerves are gearing up to shatter in unison.
“Come on, baby, wanna feel you cum on my cock,” he tells you, his thrusts sloppy as he chases his own release. “Make that pussy milk me.”
It’s his dirty words that send you over the edge, forcing you to bite your lip to the point of pain. He lets your legs fall to his hips as he presses deeply into you, his cock pulsing his warm release as he slams his lips to yours, swallowing your noises and mixing them with his own.
His hips slow until he’s just pressed inside of you, his kisses turning into soft pecks to your lips. He lifts his head to look at you, smoothing your hair back from your sweaty forehead with a tender hand.
You smile, turning your head to press a kiss to his open palm.
“I love you, Joel.”
________
As Joel looks down at you, his heart squeezes in his chest. There was a time, around when Sarah’s mom left them both without warning, that he thought love was a hoax. That no one actually found it for themselves.
But looking into your eyes, he finds he was wrong. All that pain was just meant to lead him to you. He wants a million of these moments with you.
“I love you, too, sweetheart,” he murmurs.

Went to see Civil War (2024), a new release from A24 (gif above is from movie but not spoilery). Short non-spoilery review: Holy fuck.
It's a gorgeously shot movie and well written. It also very effectively uses minimum scoring and ambient sound in place of a score in many scenes, and equally effectively uses score and soundtrack in key moments. Lots of great storytelling, and deeply unsettling. Pretty much what I expect from most A24 films, if I'm honest.
More spoilery takes under the cut:
If you go to see this movie thinking it will be actually about a second US American civil war, meaning what caused it and a lot of political discussion about who is right and who is wrong, this will disappoint you.
The second US American civil war is a backdrop for the movie, but isn't the focus. It's more of a road trip movie about journalism, specifically war journalism and the ethics of same. It's also a commentary on war itself and the ugliness of war. It's a provocative and deeply unsettling and upsetting story. There is a strange surreal aspect of seeing empty roads that are normally packed with cars and people, seeing places you know destroyed, and witnessing people acting horrifically.
It feels very much like a "please don't do this" message, but I'm not sure how effective of one it will be. But that aside, if you can handle a good bit of gore and an unflinching look at war in movies, it is worth seeing. Or you could just watch the news and the endless stream of horrors there. But for US Americans seeing it on their home turf might make an impact more than the news footage of distant places seems to. It's hard to tell.

summary: looking good interviewing timothee
-----
As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the desert in a magical light, you sat face to face with two big Hollywood stars, Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, right on the set of the highly anticipated movie, Dune. The conversation aimed to uncover their insights into the production process of this monumental adaptation and delve into the intricacies of their respective roles.
"It's great to have both of you here, Timothée and Zendaya. Dune is known worldwide, with a passionate fan following. How did you guys tackle the challenge of portraying your characters in this adaptation?"
Timothee's eyes locked onto yours as he began to answer, a spark of interest evident in his gaze. "Well, for me, it was about really delving into the psyche of Paul Atreides," he said, his voice carrying a hint of intensity. "His journey is one of self-discovery, of navigating a world filled with complexities and challenges. It was a privilege to step into his shoes."
Zendaya concurred with a nod before expressing, "Playing Chani was truly amazing for me. She's a character of immense strength and resilience, and I aimed to embody her essence in every scene. Working with such a skilled cast and crew was an absolute pleasure."
Throughout the interview, Timothee's gaze kept drifting back to you, his eyes lingering for just a moment longer than necessary, sending a flutter of excitement through your chest. Zendaya seemed to notice the subtle exchange and flashed you a knowing smile before continuing to discuss the film.
As the interview neared its end, you found yourself filled with excitement, grateful for the opportunity to have conversed with two burgeoning Hollywood talents. "Thank you both for your time today," you expressed warmly, a sincere smile gracing your face. "I'm confident that Dune will indeed become a cinematic masterpiece."
As the cameras stopped rolling, Timothee approached you with a sheepish grin. "Hey, um, I was wondering if maybe... you'd want to grab a coffee sometime?" he asked, his cheeks tinged with a hint of pink.
Zendaya, who had been observing the interaction with amusement, couldn't contain her laughter. "Well, well, well, Timmy," she teased, "how professional of you."
Timothee rolled his eyes playfully before turning back to you, his expression hopeful. "So, what do you say?"
You couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected turn of events. "I'd love to," you replied, feeling a surge of excitement at the prospect of getting to know him outside of the interview setting.
As you exchanged numbers with Timothee, Zendaya grinned mischievously, shaking her head in disbelief. "I can't believe you just did that," she said, her laughter filling the air. "But hey, who am I to stand in the way of true love?"
As you watched Timothee walk away, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unexpected opportunity in the air, as if the desert sands themselves were whispering tales of new beginnings.

thoughts on "Welcome Home, Franklin"
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
Tumblr media
Okay, this special was really great.
I love Franklin. He's a sweet boy who never had a unkind thing to say about Charlie Brown- he was the straight man to the wacky antics of the Peanuts gang. But I never got the feeling he was more than that in the strips. This special serves as the backstory and character that Franklin didn't originally get, but sorely needed.
And this special beautifully and gracefully rights some of the wrongs that past Peanuts media made.
I was surprised this film even went there in terms of discussing racism a little. Peanuts is an IP that you expect people to be overly-protective of. 'No, the scene in "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" isn't racist- and it's NOT weird that all the kids are white' is more of what I expected to hear from this. But refreshingly, this special addresses it. Like, YEAH, there IS a lack of diversity! It feels so much better for that stuff to be acknowledged rather than swept under the rug.
I love the fact that Franklin is unsure of himself and his ability to make friends. This makes him super relatable and sympathetic, and also makes a clear connection to why he gravitates towards Charlie Brown. The two of them bond over their shared feeling of being "the Underdog", and not knowing how to make friends or navigate social landscapes. Franklin also opens up Charlie Brown to new experiences and knowledge, telling him about discrimination and introducing him to music he hasn't heard before. Not only that, but Franklin encourages Charlie Brown to be less anxious and push himself further. And Charlie Brown is a much needed friend and sympathetic ear for Franklin. They have each other's back and their bond is undeniable.
That's what this special is truly trying to get at. That friends of different backgrounds and experiences from us can help us to learn and grow as people. I think that's a really wonderful message and one that we all need at any age, and one that we especially need now.
Overall, this special really blew it out of the water, and I gave it five stars.
Special shoutout if you were able to make it to the premiere stream in the Peanuts discord, that made it twice as fun to watch!
Some miscellaneous thoughts under the cut
Franklin's music taste is so elite
The music picks in this movie are honestly fantastic. The soundtrack really elevates the experience and every song is awesome
THE BEACH SCENE! It's so rewarding as a fan to see moments that are plucked straight from the strip. It feels like the people making them really know Peanuts
All the little tiny schrucy crumbs- I eat it up. I know screenshots and gifs will be made and posted and I will be reblogging them.
Lucy and Franklin's beef- I wasn't expecting it but it's so funny and adds some really great dynamics into the fold
Since this is about the friendship between Charlie Brown and Franklin specifically, minor inaccuracies Franklin actually being on Peppermint Patty's baseball team in the strip are forgiven. Some fans more scrupulous than I would probably have an issue with this, but I'm not one of those fans. This isn't 100% faithful to Peanuts Lore but I don't mind.
I LOVED the scene where Charlie Brown wants to pull the breaks and Franklin wants to keep going. It shows so much without saying anything, and it gives way for great conflict that makes sense and comes from real places within the characters
And I love how Franklin is allowed to be mad, and he and Charlie Brown fight. We're not afraid to rock the boat anymore, and it makes Franklin feel so much more human
Just the right amount of Snoopy scenes, this one reached the perfect balance of Snoopy and Story
Everything is just so overwhelmingly cute here I had to restrain myself from writing "cute" or any of its synonyms in my review
"We saved you a seat!" <3333

warnings: language, drinking, slight angst, smut !!!, oral (f-receiving), unprotected p-in-v penetration (wrap it before you tap it), all the feels bc we’ve all waited too long
Tumblr media
The house was absolutely bustling, there were Daggers spread out from the couch to the kitchen to the backyard and while they were making an utter mess of your immaculately decorated home you thought to yourself that this was how it was supposed to be. You saw Amelia and Penny sitting by the pool with their feet hanging over the edge, Rooster and Jake arguing over how best to grill a burger, Fanboy and Payback engaged in a heated discussion about some superhero movie, and Maverick and Bob talking about plane specs while you and Coyote were mixing up the next round of drinks.
“Have you ever mixed a drink before? Give me that,” you said, grabbing the bottle of tequila from him while he held his hands up in surrender. “You’re on lime duty,” you said, reassigning his tasks and he just chuckled while he got to work.
“You and Hangman seem a lot better,” he commented and you nodded. Mary and John had left for home a few weeks ago and everything seemed to be going great with her recovery. You’d gotten her set up with an oncologist you’d met in med school who would be in charge of her care from now on… Mary would have to get frequent scans for the rest of her life but it was something you would all willingly accept if it meant she had a rest of her life to live. Dr. Lewis had gotten clean margins and successfully removed the entire thing which limited her chance of recurrence but there was always a risk and this was just something you all had to live with from now on.
“Things have definitely settled, it’s a bitter pill to swallow to know your mom might get another tumor in the future but she’s in the best hands and we’re doing everything we can,” you replied.
“He told me he was kind of an ass to you during the whole thing,” he said and you just shrugged.
“He wasn’t, I’m sure it feels that way from his perspective but I was kind of an ass too in my own way, we just handled it differently. I went into doctor mode and he went into panicked son mode. Neither was the wrong response, it was just hard to be there for each other but we’re good now.”
“So, do you want to tell me why the two of you are still single then?” he asked and you just gave him a look.
“You’re a worse gossip than Phoenix,” you teased and he chuckled.
“We all want to know, watching the two of you is like having our own romance movie except it’s so much more frustrating,” he groaned.
“Oh yeah? And why is that?” you asked, deciding to indulge him for a moment.
“Because with a movie you get the ending in two hours,” he said and you laughed as you grabbed ice from the freezer to pop in each drink. Between Jake’s mother in the hospital and Coyote now you could feel that a lot of people were awaiting your inevitable reunion and honestly so were you… you just didn’t know how to initiate it, between the longing glances and lingering touches you felt like a high schooler again. You couldn’t tell where Jake’s head was at, every single time you got close to having a moment he suddenly preoccupied himself elsewhere and you thought back to the Hard Deck a few nights ago…
“Rooster, put those shots somewhere else or so help me god… I’m not singing with you,” you said, narrowing your eyes at him as he started to approach you and he looked at you like a deer caught in the headlights.
“But… please?” he said so soft and so small it almost made you feel bad for him. Almost. “Come on, Jupiter, you know you have fun.”
“This is peer pressure. I am actively being peer pressured,” you giggled as he approached you and held the glass up to your lips. You conceded and opened your mouth, allowing him to pour it in and as you wiped the few drops that missed and swallowed you gave him a glare that would have anyone shaking in their boots. “I feel like that was assault.”
“See you at the piano!” he said, walking away triumphantly and you chuckled to yourself. You would see him at the piano later, you always put up a good fight but you couldn’t seem to say no to him… he loved getting the whole bar engaged in song and who were you to deny him his fun?
“I see another duet is in the cards,” Jake said, sidling up beside you having seen the whole thing and while he was doing a great job at hiding it from you jealousy was roaring through his veins. He hated watching Rooster press the glass to your lips, he hated the eye contact you maintained with him while he poured it into your mouth, and more than anything he hated the way you laughed for him. It was silly, yes, he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt Rooster would never try anything with you, and he knew you would never try anything with him. The two of you had developed a bond he didn’t thoroughly understand but it seemed to maybe you happy and well, who was he to deny you your fun?
“It appears so, I worry about his song selection,” you said, turning to look up at him and you couldn’t quite decipher the look in his eyes as he took a step forward and you stumbled at the proximity and found yourself pressed against the edge of the pool table. You could feel the warmth radiating off of him and you felt yourself slightly tremble with anticipation… Was this finally the moment? Had Phoenix been right all along? Was a silly moment with Rooster really all it took to get you here? He grazed his fingers along your arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake and you subtly tilted your jaw upwards.
“Well, I look forward to the show,” he said with a small smirk before stepping away entirely and leaving you reeling as he clapped Coyote on the back and joined his conversation with Bob.
You shook yourself out of it and tried to push past the desire that flooded through you at the memory as you loaded the drinks onto a tray and began to make the rounds to distribute them. The squad was having a great time and you had a feeling these barbecue’s were going to become a monthly occurrence but you really didn’t mind, you enjoyed the change in scenery from the bar and you liked that they all felt so at home here. Establishing yourself as the designated host for all group events had been your main goal and it seemed like you had succeeded.
“Rooster wants to play beer pong, what’s the verdict on that after what happened last time?” Jake asked as you stepped out onto the patio and you chuckled as you recalled the last time everyone had been here. The game had gotten so intense that without even realizing Fanboy had taken a giant step backwards as you were walking behind him and sent you flying into the pool. Jake had gone into overprotective mode, yelling at Fanboy for being so unaware of his surroundings but when you resurfaced you had to cling to the sidewall for support because you were laughing so hard, and you’d pulled the age-old trick of beckoning Fanboy over to help you out only to pull him in with you.
“I am in favor of beer pong, I’ll go grab the table,” you said, handing the boys their drinks before walking around the side of the house to enter the garage. You pulled the folded table from the shelf it resided on and nearly dropped it on your feet when you turned and saw Jake, “Jesus fuck, announce yourself,” you said, catching your breath.
“Sorry,” he chuckled, but you could tell he really wasn’t. “Just thought I’d help you.” he said, pulling it from your grasp. You kept your hand on it for a moment too long, trapping him in place as your eyes raked over him, taking in his beautifully snug swim shorts and lack of shirt as you finally looked up at him through your lashes. His green eyes were holding onto yours intensely and you took a step closer, almost challenging him to do something as tension weighed heavy in the air. You could smell the spearmint and tequila on his breath and you so desperately wanted a taste as you started to lean up on your tiptoes and moments before your lips brushed the garage door swung open with a bang and the two of you jolted apart and looked over to Phoenix as she entered from the house. Her eyes widened as she took in the scene before her and you turned back to Jake.
“I’ll meet you guys out there,” you said, and he nodded as he left through the other entrance and when you turned back to Phoenix she had regret written all over her face.
“I am so sorry,” she started and you just groaned, watching as she walked down the steps and opened the fridge door, “I came out to grab more beer.”
“That is the closest we’ve ever gotten,” you said, shooting her a glare as you leaned your head against the side of the fridge and pouted, and she gave you a sad look as she closed the door and placed a hand on her hip.
“Seriously? What the hell is his problem? This is Hangman we’re talking about, I thought for sure he would have made a move by now.”
“You’re telling me…” you grumbled, “whose benefit does he think I wore this for, yours?” you asked, gesturing down to your outfit. You were wearing a simple black string bikini top that did wonders for the girls along with high waisted cut off shorts that were just a little cheeky and she chuckled.
“I like to think you did,” she said and you swatted her arm as you followed her back into the house. “If you got that close in the garage it’s only a matter of time, let the outfit do its work,” she said, giving you a nudge as you walked back onto the patio with a stack of red cups that you started to arrange on the table.
“I call Jupiter on my team,” Rooster said and Jake shot him a glare, “what, she’s got wicked aim,” he said and you chuckled.
“Fine, then I get Phoenix,” Jake countered and your chuckle turned into a sigh. Getting the four most competitive people all on the first round did not bode well for what would follow. The rest of the squad had filtered outside, the sun had lowered just slightly in the sky giving your backyard a break from the heat and it was now the perfect temperature for poolside lounging and spectating. You listened as people immediately started betting, deciding which team to put money on and you looked at Rooster.
“Okay, if you’re going to call me then you need to pull your weight, we’re not losing to those two.” you said and he nodded, holding his hands up for you to high five.
“One step ahead of you, they are going down.” he said as he reached into the cooler and grabbed two seltzers for you, cheersing when you cracked them open. The game got off to a hot start and the two teams were tied, going shot for shot until you decided to up the ante and use the fact that you weren’t with your usual teammate to your advantage. You took a sip of your seltzer just as Jake was starting to line up for his shot and accidentally let a little dribble down your chest and you could feel his gaze on you as he tracked it sliding down the curve of your breasts where you swiped it up and licked it from your fingertip. His focus was wavering and you watched with a smirk as the ball plinked off the side of the cup and rolled into the grass.
“Bummer,” you said, voice laced with sarcasm as you held your hand out to Rooster who dropped the ping pong balls in your hand. You could see him position himself directly behind his cups, you knew he wasn’t stupid enough to think your stunt was entirely innocent but you had an advantage he wasn’t considering… sure, he had to be laser focused at work but his concentration didn’t hold a candle to yours. You completely disregarded him and watched in satisfaction as both of your throws landed perfectly in the cups and smiled sweetly at him. You had sparked a new type of competitiveness in him and he landed his next two shots, and you decided to take it a step further, starting to fiddle with the straps of your swimsuit for dramatic effect for a few moments before you turned to Rooster and pulled your hair over your shoulder.
“Roo, can you retie this for me? It keeps slipping,” you said, and poor Rooster was none the wiser as he set his drink down to simply help out a friend. You held onto the front of your top, and though you were refusing to make eye contact Jake was burning holes in your skull as he quickly secured the swimsuit and you smiled brightly at Rooster when he finished before he lined up to take his shots. Phoenix was watching the whole thing with a smirk, as much as she hated the fact that your tricks were going to cost her the game she was rather enjoying how easily you were working Jake up, and that was almost worth losing.
“And that’s game,” you said as your ball landed in their last cup, “better luck next time.” Rooster pulled you in for a celebratory hug before releasing you and you said something about grabbing a glass of water as you slipped back into the house, leaving the rest of the squad to squabble over who was going next. You braced yourself on the edge of the counter as you gulped the water down, your body rejoicing as you plied it with something other than hard seltzer or tequila. You waited for another moment, letting your nails tap erratically against the smooth surface before growing frustrated and rejoining the group, watching as Bob and Fanboy took on Maverick and Coyote… a matchup you wouldn’t have foreseen but you watched anyways in amusement.
“He didn’t follow you in after that little show?” Phoenix asked quietly as you sat down at the edge of the pool next to her.
“Nope,” you replied, popping the p and she shook her head.
“Silly boy,” she chuckled. You let your eyes drift over to him to find his already on you and you briefly wondered to yourself why nothing was happening. In all the months you’d been here there had been plenty of opportunity and you started to get into your own head, wondering if maybe things had changed, if he no longer felt the same way. You didn’t know what you would do if that was the case but you did know you didn’t like the way it felt like a knife to the heart. As the sun set in the sky the rest of the pilots began to filter out, thanking you for hosting and already asking about the next group hangout until one by one you and Jake were left alone.
You were collecting towels from around the pool when you looked up to see him leaning against the sliding glass door giving you a soft smile, “come with me?” he asked and you nodded, discarding the towels on a lounge chair and taking his outstretched hand as he led you through your house.
“Where are we going?” you asked with a soft laugh, but he didn’t answer as he opened your bedroom door and you let out a small gasp when he gestured for you to go in first. The room was illuminated by dozens of small tea lights that were casting an ethereal warm glow over the space and you turned to face Jake as he rested his hands on your waist.
“Ever since you got here I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out the perfect moment…” he said, and you smiled as you looked up at him, “I wanted it to be special, and Phoenix let me know I was losing the thread,” he said with a chuckle and you laughed as well. “And the more time that passed I realized there isn’t any one perfect moment, but that I was missing out on a lot of moments with you and I don’t want to do that anymore.” he said, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “I want every moment with you, if you’ll have me.”
“It’s about time,” you said, leaning up to crash your lips against his and it felt like coming home. You moved in tandem the way you always did, working together seamlessly as you melted against him and he slid his hands down your sides to cup under your ass where you jumped to wrap your legs around him. He carried you to the bed, laying you down gently and slotting himself against you as he slid his tongue past your lips and you moaned into him.
“Wear this just for me?” he asked as he reached around your neck to untie your bikini top and you nodded as you arched into his touch when he trailed his hand across your chest to pull it off. “My beautiful girl,” he mumbled, mostly to himself as his lips connected to your neck and you let out a breathy sigh, so unbelievably content to have his hands roaming over your body as desire thrummed in your veins. He kissed his way back to your lips before pulling away to gaze into your eyes and your hand instinctively came to rest on his cheek. “I love you so much,” he said as you stroked across his cheekbone.
“I love you,” you replied, pulling his lips back to yours where you kissed with fire and passion. His fingers worked the button of your shorts and he kissed down your body, making sure to leave nothing untouched in his wake as he settled between your legs and pulled them off, quickly pausing to pull his own shirt off. He paid special attention to the soft skin of your thighs, kissing and nipping as his big hands gripped and massaged. He pressed his lips to your clothed heat and you involuntarily bucked against him, desperate for friction. He hooked his fingers around the fabric and slowly pulled them off, eyes flitting up to meet yours that were looking down at him with such love it made his heart stop. You were writhing beneath him, anticipation threatening to rattle you apart from the inside and he placed more delicate kisses around your core.
“Don’t worry, honey… gonna take care of you,” he said before licking a stripe through your folds. Your body jerked at the contact and he looped one of his arms through your leg, pressing a hand to your hips to keep you still. Moans fell from your lips as he carefully licked and sucked your clit and your hands threaded in his hair as you tried to pull him closer. He switched between teasing your entrance and circling your sensitive bundle of nerves with ease, quickly working you up until you were all but begging for more.
“Jake, please…” you sighed, and he could never deny you anything when you sounded like that. He eased one finger into your entrance before quickly adding a second, thrusting slowly and massaging that spot inside you that had you crying out his name.
“Come on, sweetheart… Cum for me,” he groaned against you, eyes straining upwards as he sucked your clit into his mouth and his cock throbbed as he watched your back arch off the bed. He swore he had never seen anything quite so beautiful as your walls clenched around his fingers. You felt that familiar build within you and a particularly rough thrust of his fingers had you tumbling off the edge. White hot pleasure shot through you as you shook beneath him, chanting his name like a prayer and Jake changed his mind… that was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen. You jolted again as he kitten-licked you and gently tugged on his hair to pull him up where you captured his lips and tasted yourself on him.
“Please, need to feel you…” you said breathlessly, and reached down to swipe his length between your folds, collecting wetness and you moaned at the sensation. He began to press into you and your hands gripped his bicep as he bottomed out, letting out a breath at how full you felt. He took a moment to let you adjust, brushing hair from your face and placing gentle kisses along your cheekbones. You moaned when he began to move and the slight sting gave way to pure pleasure as he rocked against you slowly.
“I missed you so much, sweetheart… you feel so good around me,” he whispered into your ear as he kissed along your neck and you pushed your body against his, desperately trying to get closer. You let out a loud moan when he picked up the pace, you could feel every inch of him brushing against every spot inside of you and you never wanted this to end. If you could stay wrapped up in this moment of pure bliss forever you would. He snaked a hand between you to rub circles against your clit and you tugged gently at the hair at the base of his neck, involuntarily grinding against him as he groaned in your ear.
“Fuck, Jake…” you breathed out as you felt the tension begin to grow again. He pressed his forehead against yours and your moans came out strangled as he threw one of your legs over his shoulder, filling you so deeply you swore you could feel him everywhere. “I love you so much,” you said, cupping his face with your hands and he pressed a kiss to your lips, trying to convey everything to you he couldn’t quite find the words for. Your thighs began to tremble and soon the only word you knew was his name, repeating it over and over…
“Gonna cum for me again, angel?” he asked and you nodded against him, “come on sweetheart,” he applied more pressure to your clit. “You always did look so beautiful cumming on my cock,” he said and it was as if that was all you needed for your climax to wash over you. Your body shook beneath him as the pleasure rolled over you and you felt a hot tear slide down your temple as you cried his name. Your walls tightening around him triggered his own release and as you rode out your high you felt his warmth fill you while he groaned praise into your ear. He stilled within you while your chest heaved, your lungs fighting for oxygen while you returned back to your body and you smiled softly as you felt Jake littering your face with kisses. He slowly pulled out of you and you both hissed at the loss, and he quickly grabbed a wet cloth from the bathroom to gently clean you up before sliding into bed and wrapping his arms around you, pulling you in and holding you close.
“I missed you so much,” he said, kissing the top of your head as you snuggled into him.
“I missed you, too,” you replied, still fully blissed out. “Can’t believe you waited so long,” you teased and he chuckled beneath you.
“Wanted it to be perfect,” he said. “I knew I was going to do it tonight though… your little stunts all day long were making it very difficult to hold out.”
“That was the goal,” you said and he laughed again. “I’m going to say something that might seem a little crazy,” you said as you propped yourself up on his chest to look up at him.
“I’m intrigued,” he replied, carding his fingers through your hair.
“Move in with me.” He looked at you curiously for a moment before a wide grin spread across his features.
“You sure?” he asked and he nodded.
“You are the only thing I have ever been so completely sure of,” you responded and he leaned down to meet your lips.
“I’ll start packing tomorrow,” he said and you laid your head back down, listening to the steady beat of his heart and tracing patterns along his chest. Laying here wrapped up in Jake’s arms the only word you could come up with to describe how you were feeling was complete… it was like the final piece of the puzzle had finally clicked into place. You weren’t sure why you had doubted him at all today, if there was one thing in this life that you knew to be undeniably true it was that it was you and Jake against the world… it always had been and always would be.

Chapter 7 - All At Once
And all at once the crowd begins to sing,
Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same.
Maybe you want her, maybe you need her,
Maybe you started to compare to someone not there.
The weekend's events had taken so much out of Spencer he didn’t have a chance to call you and apologise for his drunken behaviour.
In fact, if he was perfectly honest, with everything else going on he’d completely pushed it to the back of his mind.
On Sunday he spent the day at the mall with the girls in an attempt to cheer Daisy up.
Spencer loathed shopping. He only went shopping when he absolutely had to. Malls were too busy for his liking and most things were overpriced. But Daisy and Lily loved to shop, mostly because it wasn’t their hard earned money they were spending.
He spent the day traipsing after them, lugging bags full of their hauls around while they ran from shop to shop excitedly.
He practically brought Daisy a whole new wardrobe while Lily damn near put the toy store out of business.
They ate pretzels in the food court while Spencer rested his aching arms from being their designated bag carrier.
Lily fell asleep on the car ride home surrounded by all her new toys while Daisy excitedly looked over her new clothes.
He spent hundreds of dollars trying to make up for the way Maeve had hurt her. He even let the girls talk him into buying an even bigger, plusher and more expensive bed for a dog he hated who never slept in his own bed anyway.
By the time they made it home he was exhausted. He was too tired to cook so he ordered pizza which they ate in the living room while they rewatched Encanto for what had to be the fiftieth time.
When he put them to bed they were both singing We Don’t Talk About Bruno, which Spencer also had stuck in his head when he crawled into his own bed.
He also found himself humming it absent-mindedly in the shower the next morning, mentally cursing his girls for making him sit through that movie again.
It was still whirring its way around his brain while he made the girls breakfast.
He drove them to school after breakfast and dropped Taco off at the kennel and it was only after he was finally alone, his thoughts fell back to his monumentally stupid drunken mistake.
Checking his watch and seeing he had time before he had to be on campus he made a pit stop at the florists.
It was a good job he had time to spare because he spent an unfathomable amount of time staring at a wide variety of flowers in various colours.
He must have looked utterly lost as a young girl soon came over and asked if he needed help.
Yes, he most certainly did.
“I uh…I need something that says I’m sorry.” He toyed awkwardly with the strap of his satchel.
The girl gave him a slightly playful smile.
“You wouldn’t believe how often we get people in here looking for the exact same thing.”
“What would you recommend?”
“Well, lilies are great for apologising as they can express a new chapter. But roses are really romantic. White orchids are also good as they represent sincerity. And blue hyacinths look stunning in an apology bouquet.” She motioned around the various flowers she was describing while Spencer stared wide eyed in confusion.
“Uh…” he scratched the back of his neck. “All of them. Just put all of them in a bouquet. A huge one. It doesn’t matter what it costs.”
“Sure.” She looked a little startled by his choice, most guys just went for whatever was cheapest.
She admired his decision.
Spencer tapped his foot in the ground while the girl went about fashioning a giant bouquet of whites and blues and reds and yellows.
She tied them all off in a big red ribbon and looked proud by her creation.
Admittedly it did look beautiful and Spencer knew next to nothing about flower arranging.
He paid two hundred dollars for the privilege and thanked the young girl before hurrying out of the store barely able to see over the large array.
He quickly stopped at a coffee house and ordered an extra large cinnamon latte which was your favourite.
The flowers took up the whole front seat of the car and the smell was overwhelming so he had to drive with the windows open.
He felt heads turning and eyebrows furrowed into frowns as he got out of his car with the huge bouquet. It was like a large flashing beacon that he’d fucked up.
He tried to ignore all the eyes on him as he waited for you outside the psychology building, flowers in one hand, coffee in the other.
The weather was desperately trying to warm up and was slowly succeeding and the morning sun beating down on him made sweat gather at his temples.
The nerves didn’t help.
You couldn’t have looked any less amused when you spotted him, only just able to see him over the almost comically large bunch of flowers.
If he wasn’t standing right outside the building you needed access to, you would have walked any other direction to avoid him.
You clenched your jaw tightly and hugged your purse close to your body as you approached him.
“I’m sorry.” He spoke the second you were in earshot. “I am so, so sorry. I was drunk, not that that’s an excuse but I was. I had a bad day and I was a fucking idiot. I am so, so sorry Y/N.”
You didn’t say anything. Not a word. Honestly you didn’t have anything to say that wouldn’t either be fuck you or go to hell.
He proffered the flowers towards you.
“I’m really, really sorry.” He pouted a little.
He did look apologetic, almost pathetically so and there was a part of you that felt sorry for him.
Not a big enough part to forgive him though.
You took the flowers from his hand and Spencer momentarily believed things were going to be ok.
But then you dropped the bouquet on the floor and stamped heavily on them with your heeled boot.
You didn’t stop there.
You took the coffee out of his hand, removed the lid and poured the scalding liquid all over the crushed pile of flowers.
Spencer’s face fell.
“Oh come on, that was two hundred dollars worth of flowers.” He groaned, shoulders slumping.
“You think coffee and flowers are going to make up for what you did?” You spat at him.
“Not entirely. But I thought it might be a start.” He shrugged meekly, toying with his satchel.
“Well it isn’t.” You stomped on the flowers again. “You were a world class asshole, Spencer. You do not get to show up at my apartment drunk in the middle of night and try to force me into bed! And the things you said to me…I am not a fling. I am not looking to be a casual hook up and if that’s all you want then you should find someone else.”
“Y/N, I didn’t mean for you to-“
“Go to hell, Doctor Reid.” You cut him off, stamping on the flowers one more time for good measure. “Respectfully, go to hell.”
He watched you storm past him inside the building, knowing nothing he could say was going to make this better.
He’d really fucked this one up. And he had no idea how to fix it.
***
He left a cinnamon latte for you every single day for the next week in Monroe’s classroom.
He left post it notes on your car that told you how sorry he was.
He tried at every available opportunity to tell you to your face how sorry he was but every time you caught a glimpse of him, you would turn and walk in the opposite direction.
He didn’t blame you. But he wished you would give him a chance to explain.
Not that there was much to explain. He was drunk and he’d been forceful. He’d said horrible things to you.
An explanation wasn’t really warranted.
But that didn’t mean he was going to give up. He wasn’t giving you up without a fight.
It didn’t matter that the two of you had only been on one date, you were all he could think about. You’d left a lasting impression in his heart and he wasn’t letting you just walk away.
But he knew he couldn’t keep pushing you. You had to want to talk to him. If he kept trying to force you forgive him, he would end up pushing you away.
He had to give it time and hope that you would come to forgive him on your own.
In lieu of making things up with you, he had made up with Luke, even if slightly begrudgingly.
They’d talked on the phone for the best part of a whole evening after the girls were asleep. Luke apologised for the way things had come out. He hadn’t meant them quite as they sounded
Spencer in turn apologised for reacting the way he had, even though he still felt he was completely justified.
Luke surprised him somewhat when he asked him, “did you ever really deal with Maeve’s affair?”
“What do you mean?” Spencer frowned, putting his feet up on his desk and leaning back in his chair.
“When you talk about it, you always talk about the effect it had on your kids but never how it affected you.” Luke was in full on profiler mode. Spencer had heard that voice countless times.
“The fact that it affected my kids, affected me.” Spencer’s frown deepened.
“I know you say it was a marriage of convenience but you were together a long time, Reid. You must have had some kind of feelings for her. It must have hurt.” Luke’s tone was soft yet held a hind of accusation.
“Not especially.” Spencer shrugged.
“Spencer,” Luke’s timbre shifted. “The woman you spent a large portion of your life with cheated on you. Your house is still like a goddamn shrine to the life you used to have. And you’ve never gotten over your anger towards her. I think that’s because she hurt you more than you want to admit. You like to pretend you didn’t love her and that you’re unaffected by what happened because you think it’s easier to deal with if you pretend it doesn’t hurt. But sometimes, pain needs to be felt.”
“Have you ever thought about being a therapist?” Spencer rolled his eyes and sat up in the chair. “I’m fine Luke. I’m angry because she tore my family apart. I’m angry because my kids now only get to see their mother twice a month. I’m angry because I had to reevaluate my whole life after she left.
But I’m not hurt, I’m not heartbroken. And my house is not a shrine. I work and when I’m not working I’m taking care of my daughters and now some stupid dog too. I’ve been meaning to call Morgan to help me renovate it. I just haven’t had time.”
“If you insist.” Luke sighed. “I won’t keep pushing it. But just know I’m here if you ever need to talk.”
“I know. Thanks. But I really am fine.” Spencer stood up and stretched his back. “I’ll talk to you soon, yeah?”
“Yeah no worries. Talk soon.” Luke replied and then hung up.
Spencer kept his phone in his hand and typed out a quick text to you, almost identical to the ones he’d sent you every night this week.
📲 Y/N Y/L/N: I’m still so sorry. I miss you. Please talk to me. Goodnight, beautiful.
He checked in on the girls who were both sleeping soundly before having a quick shower and crawling into his own bed.
And once again, he dreamt of you.
***
It was probably for the best that you weren’t talking to him and that he hadn’t made plans with you for his child free weekend because he didn’t get a child free weekend.
He picked Lily and Daisy up from school on Friday and drove them to Maeve’s only for Daisy to refuse to get out of the car.
“Pumpkin, it’s your weekend with your mom, you have to go.” Spencer turned in his seat to face her.
“No.” She spoke stubbornly. “I don’t want to see her.”
“You can’t stay mad at her forever.” Spencer leaned over the centre console and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Yes I can.” She huffed.
“Why don’t you want to see mommy?” Lily spoke up from the backseat.
“Because I hate her.” Daisy stomped her foot on the floor.
“Daisy, please don’t say that in front of your sister.”
“Why? It’s true.”
Spencer sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.
“What about if Taco comes to mommy’s with you?” It would be doing him a favour too.
“Yes! Let’s go get Taco!” Lily beamed.
“No!” Daisy raised her voice. “I’m not going in there and you can’t make me!”
She was right, he couldn’t.
So in the end Lily had stayed at Maeve’s and Daisy had come home with Spencer.
It was strange just having one of the girls, it wasn’t often the two were apart. It was almost like the days before Lily was born.
He cooked dinner for the two of them and they ate ice cream for dessert.
Daisy sat in Spencer’s office with him, laying on the floor with Taco while he graded papers.
Usually Spencer liked to work alone, the kids rarely came in his office. But he found the sounds of Daisy cooing over the dog relaxing and every now and again when he heard her giggle over the mutt it made his heart swell in his chest.
“Are you having fun there, pumpkin?” He asked her with an amused smile as he scrawled some notes on one of his students papers.
“Yeah, Taco is the best.” She giggled, giving Taco a belly scratch which he adored. “And it’s nice and quiet, like before Lily was born.”
Spencer’s pen dropped from his hand as he looked at the back of his daughter's head where she laid on her front on the floor, her thick dark hair tied up on the back of her head.
“What?” He frowned a little, thinking he must have misunderstood her.
She rolled over onto her back and propped herself up on her one good arm.
“I miss it sometimes. Before Lily was born and it was just you, me and mom. Did mom have an affair because of Lily?” She asked curiously.
Spencer tried to hide his shock, knowing his daughter could read his features.
He pushed himself up from his chair and rounded the desk, coming over to where Daisy and Taco laid.
He lowered himself carefully to the floor, grimacing a little as an ache spread through the old injury in his leg.
He sat next to her, stretching his legs out across the dark carpet.
“What your mom did was neither of your faults. You know that, don’t you?”
Daisy shrugged.
“Why did you have Lily? I miss being an only child.” She changed the subject.
“She’s your sister, don’t say that, please.”
“We were happy before Lily.” Daisy shrugged again, crossing her legs and pulling Taco into her lap.
“And we were happy after Lily too.” He wrapped an arm around her shoulder and she instinctively leaned into her fathers body.
“Do you think mom would have cheated on you if you didn’t have Lily?”
“I don’t know, pumpkin.” He sighed, pulling her closer. “But Lily isn’t the reason she cheated. And neither are you. I guess…I guess I just couldn’t make her happy.”
“It’s not that I don’t love Lily.” Daisy tugged at Taco’s ear. “I just miss having all of your love.”
Spencer felt his heart tear in half. He moved his hand from around her shoulder and cupped her jaw gently, guiding her to look at him.
“Daisy,” he spoke seriously. “Just because I love your sister, it didn’t for a second make me love you any less, ok? You’re my baby girl, the first time I held you in my arms I felt like I could breathe properly for the first time in my life. The first time you looked at me, I finally knew the reason I was put on this Earth. And that was to love you and be your father. Please never think I could love you any less. You are my whole world ok, pumpkin?”
He felt choked up by the end of his speech and he noticed Daisy had tears in her eyes.
She was quick to sit back and wipe her eyes on her sleeve.
“God, mushy much dad?” She scoffed and Spencer chucked.
He leaned in and placed another kiss at her temple.
“Love you too, pumpkin.” He laughed against her skin.
***
Spencer found Luke’s words were taking up too much space in his brain.
When he awoke Saturday morning he laid in bed for a while, staring at the ceiling and just enjoying a moment of peace before Daisy woke up.
Although it wasn’t all that peaceful.
He was ruminating on Luke’s implications of him living in a shrine.
It wasn’t as though Spencer meant to do that. He really hadn’t had the time to even think about redecorating.
Ok, maybe that wasn’t true. He had thought about it, quite often in fact. But there was always some kind of blocker between the thought and the action. For whatever reason, he’d never gotten over that hurdle of actually making a change.
But it wasn’t because he was clinging to his old life. He didn’t pine over his broken marriage, he didn’t wish for Maeve to see sense and come home.
But maybe there was a small chance that the reason he’d held off for so long was partly due to the fact that once he changed the house, there was no going back.
If he decorated it was effectively shattering his dreams of the future he’d planned even though, really, those dreams had been destroyed over a year ago.
Had he really been grasping at his old life so hard and not even realised?
Something had to change.
After breakfast he and Daisy went to the hardware store and he let her pick out a new paint for the living room.
It wasn’t much but it was a start. It was something to prove he wasn’t living in a shrine to his ex-wife.
Initially she’d chosen a gawdy bright green shade but thankfully Spencer had talked her down to a much more eye pleasing sage.
The two of them spent the day painting the room, well Spencer did most of it while Daisy kept getting distracted by Taco. And Daisy did only have one good arm, which she kept reminding him.
But by the time he was finished he felt accomplished. The new colour was much more his style than the buttermilk yellow Maeve had painted the walls when they moved in.
The only room he’d really aided in decorating was his office with its dark walls, leather desk chair and dark oak desk and bookshelves.
He’d still be working at the BAU when they moved in and as such wasn’t around much to help make decorating decisions.
He’d never disliked the way she’d designed the house but maybe it never quite felt like home as it should have.
The sage green walls felt more cosy. It was reminiscent of his old apartment, the apartment he’d loved so much. He felt comfortable with a darker aesthetic, which was probably strange but to Spencer it felt more homely.
Spencer always felt more at ease in darkness, he decided not to dwell too long on that thought and what that meant about his mental state.
He should call Morgan and have him gut this place and start again from scratch. But he wasn’t quite ready to take that step. And not because he was pining over his old life.
He didn’t know why. But not everything needed to have a reason.
Once the painting was done and feeling much more satisfied with his living situation, he cooked dinner for the two of them and after he let Daisy choose a movie which he fell asleep halfway through.
The closing credits woke him and he rubbed his eyes before focusing on Daisy who had her smartphone pointing at him.
“What are you doing?” He grumbled, feeling the weight of the dog was laying on his chest.
“Taking pictures.” She giggled.
“Why?” He shuffled up the couch a little.
“You look funny.” She snapped one more picture before her dad got mad.
“How do I look funny?” He scooted the dog off of him and sat up properly, rubbing his eyes again.
“See for yourself.” She handed him her phone and he stared at the photograph of his sleeping form, mangy dog sleeping soundly on him.
But that’s not what he was looking at.
“For the love of god!” He groaned, jumping up and dashing to the mirror by the door.
“The paint must still have been wet.” Daisy giggled again.
Spencer had two very distinctive sage coloured doggy paw prints on his face and many more covering his shirt.
He glanced around and saw a spot on the wall near the TV where the idiotic mutt had put his front paws in the wet paint.
There was a trail of the sage prints in the carpet from the wall to the couch.
“This is why I didn’t want a freaking dog.” Spencer huffed as he made his way to the kitchen to clean his face. “What time is it?”
“Uh…eight?” Daisy sounded unsure of herself.
“Which means it’s actually later than that and you don’t want to tell me because you don’t want to go to bed.” He chuckled, wiping his face with some kitchen paper.
“No.” Daisy whined. “Not true.”
“You know I’m wearing a watch, right?” As he said this he glanced at it and saw it was a little after ten. “Bedtime missy.”
“Boo!” Daisy sulked.
He finished up cleaning his face, thankful the paint seemed to come off easily and came back through to the living room where his stubborn daughter sat vigil on the couch.
“Come on, pumpkin. I can read to you if you like? We haven’t done that in a while.”
She pulled a face like she was contemplating this for a moment or two.
“Can Taco come to bed with me?”
“Sure, why not. It’s not like I’ve brought him two dog beds or anything.” He sighed.
Daisy happily picked up the little dog and carried him upstairs where she set him on her bed.
Spencer sat with him while she went through to the bathroom to change and brush her teeth.
He tucked her in and Taco curled up by her side.
Spencer slotted himself on the small part of the empty mattress that was left and Daisy handed him a book.
He read to her until she was sound asleep, snoring a little. She got that from her mother.
He kissed her forehead and switched off the light before creeping from the room.
He thought about having a drink but he was still ashamed of his actions the last time he drank so he decided against it.
He pulled out his phone as he flopped to the couch and sent you a text.
📲 Y/N Y/L/N: I really am so sorry. Please can we talk? I miss your voice. Goodnight, beautiful.
Spencer stared at the freshly painted wall and the paw prints left in it, still having Luke’s words swirling around his brain.
He didn’t love Maeve. He wasn’t heartbroken over her infidelity. He didn’t need to deal with what she’d done because he hadn’t affected him. Had it?
Somehow he found himself on his feet and moving books aside on the bookshelf that shielded his gun safe.
He hadn’t actually kept a gun in it for years, not since he left the bureau. But old habits die hard.
He entered the combination and opened the thick metal door. His hand shook a little as he pulled out the photo album kept hidden inside.
It was white once but was dirtied from fingerprints over the years. It was a little scuffed around the edges but that was probably from him stuffing it inside the safe that was just a little too small for it.
Spencer didn’t know why he kept in there. He supposed it was because he didn’t want the kids stumbling across it and having to look at it before he was ready, before he had the capacity to take this particular trip down memory lane.
He hadn’t even thought about the album in the year since he’d put it in there. He’d physically locked it away whilst mentally locking away the memories that went with the photographs.
He took it back over to the couch and tentatively flipped to the first page.
The first photograph depicted an unusually sunny fall day outside of DC city hall. Spencer wore a suit from his closet and Maeve wore a simple white summer dress, her pregnant belly very noticeable with the slim fitting nature of the dress.
They both smiled brightly while Morgan snapped the photograph of them showing off their matching gold wedding bands, Spencer’s free hand cupping her stomach that housed baby Daisy.
He saw no doubts in his eyes, no hint that he was only marrying this woman because he’d gotten her pregnant. He looked genuinely elated to be married. He didn’t remember ever feeling that happy.
On the next page was a series of photos with the backdrop of a hospital room.
Images of Spencer fussing over Maeve while she was in labour, a slightly fretful look on his features.
There was a photo of Maeve with the newborn on her chest, seconds after she was born and Daisy was held by her mother for the first time.
Another of Spencer in the worn leather chair next to the bed with the tiny seven pound baby cradled in his arms as tears streamed down his cheeks.
There were a couple more of the three of them together in the hospital room and as they left the hospital the following day, Spencer and Maeve held hands while his free one carried Daisy in her rocker.
The look on Spencer’s face in each one could only be described as pure bliss.
There were pictures of Daisy with each member of her new family, with her Aunties Emily, JJ and Penelope and her Uncles Derek and Aaron and grandpa Dave.
There were photographs from a few weeks later when they’d travelled to Vegas so Diana could meet her granddaughter.
Diana’s smile when she held Daisy for the first time was the brightest he’d ever seen on his mother. She’d been lucid that day, thank god, and had cried and cooed over the gorgeous little bundle her son had created.
Other photographs of Daisy’s first steps, her first time on the potty, her first Christmas and birthdays littered the pages.
Birthday cakes and presents wrapped for a child too young to understand what they were.
Gaudy Christmas jumpers set against the backdrop of an overly decorated tree. Paper hats from crackers adorned on heads. A small child overstimulated by a holiday she couldn’t comprehend.
And in every single one he and Maeve looked so happy. The images showed them sharing loving looks, exchanging soft touches.
If the photos didn’t exist, Spencer wouldn’t have believed it. His memories didn’t allow him to recall the joyful moments, only the hurt and the anger.
Even as he looked at them he struggled to remember ever feeling the way the man in the photographs looked.
The further into the album he got showed Maeve’s belly growing for the second time and more hospital photographs with Lily featuring Aunty Tara, and Uncles Luke and Matt.
More holiday photos lined the pages, this time with Daisy helping her sister open her presents.
Lots of photos of the two girls together riddled the pages. Daisy holding Lily’s hand while she learnt to walk, Daisy reading to her little sister. Daisy cuddling her new little sister and beaming proudly.
They looked like the perfect family, smiling for the camera. But what was hiding beneath? Were they ever really happy at all?
About a year after Lily’s birth, the photographs just stopped. The empty pages at the end of the album taunted Spencer.
They just stopped. Ended with no warning. It was as though all the happy, smiling faces of the pages before had died.
Maybe they had.
Tensions had been high between him and Maeve after Spencer gave up the BAU. He resented Maeve and to a certain extent his beautiful daughter, for having to give up a job he adored.
He was frustrated and exhausted all the time. He was making less money at Georgetown, which didn’t matter so much in the present as he had a substantial amount of savings, but not enough to send two kids to college. His future problems crossed over into his present day.
It took its toll on Spencer. He went to work, came home and doted on his daughters and barely said two words to Maeve.
He had a quick temper. His exhaustion manifested in anger and when he did talk to Maeve it was usually to argue with her about something.
He’d been distant, far away even when he was at home, and she’d been lonely. So she met Bobby who made her feel wanted.
Could he blame her for that? Was Luke right? He hadn’t been attentive to his wife and so she’d sought comfort elsewhere. Was it his fault she’d strayed? Had he pushed her to it?
He flipped the album back to the first page to their wedding photo. Was he to blame in all of this?
He was so wrapped up in his self pity, the knock at the door startled him.
He frowned to himself as he pushed himself to his feet and padded over to the door.
Who was knocking at his house so late at night?
He unlocked the door and cautiously it opened a fraction so he could see who was on the other side before he committed to opening it.
His frown only deepened when he looked into a familiar pair of eyes staring back at him from the dark.
He opened the door fully and braced himself against the door jamb.
“Y/N,” he swallowed. “What are you doing here?”

A World of Pure Imagination
Author's Note: Wonka was released on Max yesterday (March 8th)! Whoo! I started watching it last night, and I couldn't help but feel so giddy while watching it! It's such a sweet and endearing movie! I stopped after "For a Moment," and I'll watch the rest later. Maybe I'll watch it as I write the rest of the story. That probably won't happen, though, because I love this movie so much, lol. .
Anyways, this chapter was so much fun and surprisingly easy chapter to write! But picking who sings what was a bit difficult, but I got it! 😁
I love this song! It's so catchy, and it shows the impact Wonka's chocolate is having. It's such a fun dancing song, too!
Also, I had to put two GIFs in this time. I couldn't choose between the two, lol. They were both too good!
Hope you enjoy the chapter! ♥️
Chapter 7: You've Never Had Chocolate Like This
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yin felt the excitement course through his body as he, Willy, and Noodle discussed their plan for the day. After talking about plans all night, the whole team was ready to sell chocolate.
As Noodle talked to Willy about what to do when they spot the police, Yin was distracted. He couldn't help but stare at the beautiful chocolatier. He was dressed as a waiter for a restaurant, part of his disguise, and Yin couldn't keep his eyes off him. Not only was it a bit strange seeing him dressed so formal, but it was a change that made Yin's heart skip a beat.
"Yin! Are you there?"
The boy snapped out of his trance and looked at the person talking. "Yeah. I'm here, Noodle..." His words trailed off again as he felt himself blush with embarrassment.
"You're clear with the plan?" She asked.
"Yeah..." Yin muttered with a nod, still looking dazed.
"You have to be ready to catch Willy when he goes into the storm drain. Got it?"
Yin just nodded with a hum.
Noodle sighed and shook her head while smiling fondly. 'He's hopeless.' She thought to herself.
Willy chuckled at the interaction. "You'll do great." He told the slightly flustered boy.
Yin nodded at the curly haired boy. "Okay."
They heard the church bell ring, signaling the start of the day.
"All right. It's time to sell some chocolate!" Willy said with excitement. Noodle nodded and got into position. Before Willy could go, Yin grabbed his wrist. "Wait, Willy." He said, his voice soft.
"Yes, Yin?" Willy looked at him.
Yin bit his bottom lip shyly and ran his fingers through his hair, feeling a blush bloom onto his cheeks. "You look great." He said softly.
Willy felt his cheeks warm up at the compliment. He looked to the side for a second before turning back to the adorable boy in front of him.
"Thank you." He said with a soft smile. He took his free hand and placed it on Yin's cheek, his thimb caressing the area. The action made Yin blush more, but he smiled sweetly. "Good luck." Yin whispered, releasing Willy's wrist from his hold. Willy smiled more and nodded at the boy before he pulled away and jogged over to where he needed to be. He already missed Yin's touch.
Yin jogged over to Noodle, who was smirking at the lovestruck boy. "You're so in love." She teased. "Shut up." Yin muttered with a chuckle. Noodle laughed at her friend.
The two started to watch Willy as he approached a man who just got rejected by his partner. Ouch.
"Monsieur, can I help you?" Willy asked the man in a French accent. Yin had to keep himself from giggling uncontrollably.
The man replied, "Hello waiter. Do you have anything for a broken heart?"

If you see parentheses around a repeated line before it, the two people are singing it together. But if it's in parentheses AND slanted, it's said right after the first time.)
🎵So the taxis never stop
The girls think you're a flop
You're wet and cold, you're getting old, your confidence is shot🎵
"It's true." The man admitted.
🎵When people look at you
They seem to look straight through
Or, like you're something brown they found upon the bottom of their shoe🎵
"Have you been following me?"
Willy moved to being in front of him. He put a napkin on the table and like magic, when he pulled it away, underneath it was one of his new creations.
🎵But this should lift the gloom
My giraffe-milk macaroon
Just take a chance and you'll be dancing to a different tune
Goodbye to feeling small
And frightened of it all
Just eat a few of these, and you'll be feeling ten feet tall🎵
The man tried one of the treats. Then, he had a second one. He felt a transformation happen, and suddenly, he was feeling more confident.
Customers watched as Willy and the man, with his newfound confidence, got onto the tables and started to dance.
🎵Wеll, there's chocolate
And thеre's chocolate (and there's chocolate)
Only Wonka's makes your confidence skyrockelet (Only Wonka's makes your confidence skyrockelet)
Put your hand into your pockelet
Get yourself some Wonka chocolate🎵
Customers clamored over to Willy, paying to get his chocolate. The man, feeling more confident than ever, walked up to his partner, Barbara.
🎵Madame, just one kiss
Yes, please🎵
The two kiss.
Yin and Noodle watched the scene with smiles on their faces. Then, Yin saw the police coming from a distance. He tapped on Noodle's shoulder. "The police are coming." Noodle looked before nodding. Yin ran to where he needed to go.
🎵You've never had chocolate like this
No, we've never had chocolate like this🎵
Noodle whistled, signaling to Willy that the police were coming. Acting fast, Willy got off the table and ran into an alleyway and jumped into the open storm drain.
Yin was already at the bottom, and he caught the chocolatier as he fell. Piper closed th storm drain, hiding them. Yin looked at Willy, his hands on the man's waist.
"Well?"
Willy smiled widely. "It was a success. They were buying the chocolate!" He replied with excitement. "Yay!" Yin said happily. Willy laughed at the cute boy.
The two stayed put for some time, enjoying the delightful silence until Yin spoke up.
"Hey, um, Willy?"
"Hmm?"
"When we do this again tomorrow, can I do it?"
"You want to sell my chocolate with me?"
Yin nodded, smiling. Willy matched his smile and placed his hands on Yin's shoulders. "Of course you can! How can I refuse?"
Yin's smile got even bigger.
(Transition)
It was a new day, and two ladies were discussing Willy Wonka's latest creation. Word was being spread now.
🎵Have you tried his new one?🎵
"No."
🎵Oh, you've got to have a go
Just pop one in, and everything becomes a Broadway show🎵
Yin, disguised as a ticket collector, gave the ladies the chocolate after paying. They started to sing and dance.
🎵The news that makes you gasp
The jokes that make you laugh
All that you say and do all day will be choreographed
(All that you say and do all day will be choreographed)🎵
(Transition to nighttime)
It was now nighttime, and Willy was disguised as a barber, attending to a balding customer, along with two others.
🎵Lost your hair, can't think where
Feeling fairly bare up there
Don't despair, I come prepared
Behold my hair repair-it claire🎵
Willy showed the three men the treat, who wolf them down eagerly. A hairless cat ate the leftover one.
🎵It's made from ground vanilla
From the markets of Manila
Take heed, eat more than three, and you'll end up like a gorilla🎵
(Transitioning between the two)
🎵Well, there's chocolate🎵
The passengers on the tram were dancing like they were on Broadway.
🎵And there's chocolate🎵
The three balding men now were sporting full hair-dos. Even the cat now had full fur.
🎵Only Wonka's makes you hop around the clockelet🎵
Yin watched with a big smile at everyone enjoying the chocolate. Until he heard Lottie ring the bell to warn him. Knowing who was coming, Yin ran towards the back of the tram where Abacus opened a hatch into the engine compartment. Yin slid through it and down into an open storm drain below.
Willy was at the bottom, and he caught the boy, arms around his waist. Yin's hands on Willy's shoulders.
"How it go?"
Yin smiled widely and reached into the pocket of his disguise and showed Willy the money he collected. "All of them bought it!" He said excitedly.
Willy laughed out of excitement and hugged Yin. "We're doing it!"
Yin blushed hard at Willy, hugging him, but he smiled and hugged the chocolatier back. The two embraced excitedly, hopping on their toes as the passengers sang. Even hearing the police chief and Officer Affable sing joyfully about how great Willy's chocolate is.
"By the way... you look great dressed like that." Willy said as he pulled away to look at Yin. Yin felt his cheeks warm up, but he smiled shyly. "Thank you."
(Transition to nighttime)
After a successful day, everyone retired to their rooms in the wash house.
Meanwhile, the main trio was in Noodle's room. Noodle wrote the word "Cat" on a blackboard. Willy was seated in a child's school chair, learning to read. Yin was standing close by, watching.
🎵Well, there's literate and illiterate
Can you tell me what this word is?
Not a bit of it🎵
Yin snickered at the two. Noodle sighed but continued.
🎵Well, that's a vowel, and that's a consonant
What's that now? You're talking nonsenense🎵
Yin laughed this time. Willy looked at the young man with a soft smile. Noodle sighed in exasperation.
🎵I should call it quits🎵
Abucus appeared with a jar of money.
🎵But you've never sold chocolate like this🎵
He was right. They were making a lot of money. Yin looked over to Willy, seeing he was creating something out of the paper on the desk.
"What are you doing?" He asked curiously.
Willy smiled. "You'll see in a moment."
Yin waited patiently as Willy finished and showed him what he created. An origami rose. "For you." He said, handing it to Yin. Yin blushed lightly as he took it. "Thank you."
(Transition)
Days went by, and Willy Wonka was making more profit with his chocolate. The three chocolatiers were in the vault, berating the Chief. Fickelgruber started.
🎵Well, there's chocolate🎵
"I understand that." The Chief said.
Prodnose joined in.
🎵And there's chocolate🎵
"Totally true." The Chief agreed.
Slugworth came in, equally annoyed as his two colleagues.
🎵Only Wonka drives a hole right through our profilets🎵
Slugworth's secretary, Mrs. Bon Bon showed their profit charts. They were going down exponentially.
"Yes, but what I'm trying to tell you is that -" The Chief tried to explain, but he was interrupted by Fickelgruber.
🎵If we don't get on top of this, we'll go bust,🎵
The other chocolatiers joined.
🎵Choco-pocalypse!🎵
Fickelgruber added.
🎵We'll cease to exist🎵
The Chief finally got to talk.
🎵But fellas, you've never had chocolate like this🎵
He hands them each a Broadway chocolate, as they are called. They taste it despite their fury, immediately breaking into a joyful song and dance.
🎵No, we've never had chocolate like this🎵
(Transition)
Willy and Yin are in the town square, back where it started selling from a little cart. A huge crowd surrounds the pair, buying chocolate as fast as they can.
🎵Well, there's chocolate (well, there's chocolate)
And there's chocolate (and there's chocolate)
Only mine'll find you buying wedding frockelets (only his will find you buying wedding frockelets)🎵
The man, named Colin and Barbara, came out of the cathedral, just married.
🎵We have just tied the knot, and it's
All because of Wonka's chocolate🎵
The crowd celebrated this occasion.
🎵Off to a life of bliss🎵
Yin walked to the front of the cart, handing out chocolates to paying customers.
🎵You've never had chocolate like this
No, we've never had chocolate like this🎵
Willy joined Yin in front of the singing and dancing crowd.
🎵Have you ever had chocolate like this?🎵
The pair joined the dancing.
🎵No, we've never had chocolate
No, we've never had chocolate like this🎵
The pair were dancing, hand in hand, and spinning each other. Then they heard Larry, and then Noodle whistled. The police were in sight. Willy motioned Yin to go to the storm drain. Yin nodded and weaved through the dancing crowd to get to it. He made it and jumped down, landing on his feet. He saw Willy, who jumped down, closing the storm drain. Yin caught him. However, in Willy's panicked state, he didn't give Yin enough time to prepare to catch him.
So, when Yin caught Willy, the pair fell down, Yin on his back and Willy on top of him. The two groaned at the feeling.
"I'm so sorry, Yin. Are you hurt?" He asked, looking over and checking him for injuries. Yin sat up and placed a hand on Willy's shoulder.
"It's alright." Willy looked at the boy. Yin felt a blush bloom onto his cheeks. "I'm... fine." He said slowly. He got lost in Willy's hypnotizing hazel eyes.
The two stared into each other's eyes for a few seconds until Willy sighed softly in relief. "That's good." He got off of Yin, and offered his hand out to the young man.
Yin, flattered and feeling butterflies in his stomach, took Willy's hand. Willy pulled him up onto his feet and helped the boy dust himself off.
Once they finished, Yin looked at Willy with a big smile. "This is working out. I can't believe how successful this has been!"
"You didn't think it would?" Willy asked, looking a bit sad that Yin didn't believe in the plan.
Yin quickly shook his head no. "No, no, no. I was just worried about...."
"Worried about what?"
"You. I was worried about you. Getting caught by the police. I didn't want you to get hurt."
Willy's look softened at Yin's concern. "Oh, Yin, that's so sweet of you to think that." He took Yin's hands and gave them a squeeze. "But you don't have to worry. I'm a magician. They won't catch me." He said with a playful smile, reaching up and booping Yin's nose with his index finger.
Yin giggled at Willy's silliness. "I believe you." He said, returning the playful gesture to Willy. Willy scrunched his nose a bit at the action but laughed along with Yin.

A sense of leadership and accountability will be awakened in you this month. For some towards others or their career/studies or pursuits and for some towards themselves. Maybe in the past few months people have told you to 'humble yourself' or have projected an energy of, 'well, you're not special. So be quiet.' which in turn made you second guess your own capabilities. Well, that is about to snap itself in half. Because you'll realize you do yourself a great deal of disservice when you give into this mindset. There's a fine line between humility and straight up imposter syndrome.
You'll also be feeling connected to the spiritual side of yourself. Now this is something very personal to you but you may feel as though you're receiving intuitive nudges or spiritual downloads. Mostly in the form of words, phrases, messages, texts etc. You may also be inclined to write or express yourself more. A part of your mind will be very analytical but in the sense that you'll have more discernment instead of giving into herd mentality.
There will be steady progress and even promotions for some or some of you might just pave your own way because you got tired of building things for others when you could surely use your talents elsewhere or for yourself.
Channel your aggression in any kind of sports or just brisk walking. Nearing the end of the month you'll feel very excited about something that makes you feel that the true summer of your life has just begun.
Gif 2
This month, remind yourself that every expert was once a novice that didn't give up. So if there's something you've always wanted to do but were too reluctant to try because you weren't already perfect at it, discard the perfectionism mindset and go for it.
You may really want to go back to a time of your life where things seemed more innocent and sweet before you got too hyper aware of everything and being a responsible adult took away the child like wonder that you once had. Please allow yourself to indulge and find beauty in everything.
Likely whilst revisiting this energy you'll figure out your true calling in life. You'll also realize the more fun you have or the more you engage in activities that just seem silly yet exciting, even as simple as watching a film and making that your personality for a week or discussing new or old things with a friend, the quicker you find clarity, confidence and things falling in place for you or manifestions coming in quicker.
You'll feel more in tune with your emotions without having to dissect them or discard them.
Some of you may also be drawn to flowers, floral designs or fragrances. Like I said, a childlike wonder towards things more. The more those aspects of you are catered to the happier and peaceful you'll be.
Towards the middle or end of the month you may have improptu travels and events to celebrate with your friends and family.
Some of you always have an ancestor or a late family member looking over you, they want you to realize your worth and take pride in yourself and your accomplishments and what you will be accomplishing ahead.
Gif 3
Romantic admirers and romance in general but a lot of healing when it comes to the wounds relating to the matters of the heart and relationships, doesn't have to be solely romantic relationships but the ones that were significant to you but caused you pain along the way.
I see you romanticizing your life this month, at least starting to. I literally heard, "this is my Sophia Copolla movie era, I do not care."
For some of my ladies and those who identify as women, if you were having issues related to let's say hormones or coming into your femininity in the past this will be a good month to recover and heal those.
You'll be putting yourself on the pedastal and focusing on your physical appearance, aesthetics, skin and hair health and well being. You just want to slow down, make a routine for yourself, see which supplements suit you best etc
Some of you may be wanting to get into a creative, intertaintment or fashion industry so you'll be making that your primary focus. There will be a lot of deep changes, lot of discarding the old story, old mindsets etc moving away from chaotic times to happier ones.
Some of the events in this month might just feel destined or that whatever is happening is leading you to your goal or life path. Keep a tunnel vision when it comes to your desires as priority.

Since your request are open...😈
I have a few ideas if you like, I'm gonna drop them here and you decide which to use, or if you want to write both🥰😂
Like one is with Robin, if you feel like write for her. Basically the reader always goes to family video and obviously Robin has a huge crush on her, so Steve, being the great friend he is, decides to handle the situation and talks to the reader to set her and Robin up. Unfortunately Robin thinks the reader has a thing for Steve, but at the end she found the reader waiting for her when her shift is over (?)
The other idea is. A good Eddie x shy!Reader, where she's always at the library and he "happens" to be there as well and looks her way, until one day he finds you talking to Dustin so he immediately ask him about it.. sort of😅
Hope you're having a good day, hun🤘
I loved this so much!!! I am so sorry it took soooo long and that is not that long. I made it a drabble so I changed the name 😁 first time writing for Robin so, I hope you like it!! Warnings: none Disclaimer: I don’t own Stranger Things 😊 gif isn’t mine 😁

Not Steve
Tumblr media
“Okay, this is one of Robin’s favorite films” Steve said, grabbing Dr. Zhivago and handing it to you. “You can bring it to the counter, and I guarantee you, she’ll go on and on about it and-”
“This is a double VHS” you said, grabbing the movie. “This movie is so long it has two VHS, Steve! Like The Sound of Music! I don’t do double VHS, Harrington!”
“Yeah, I know” he sighed, rolling his eyes. “But it’s what she likes because it’s about doomed love.”
“Well, that’s inspiring” you said sarcastically. “Okay, fine” you gave in.
“Just be sure not to choke when you talk to her-”
“And just how am I supposed to do that, Steve? Every time she looks at me with her beautiful eyes I just completely forget how to talk and- oh my God! This is useless! I am too nervous to say hello!” you started rambling.
“Oh my God, you two are like meant for each other. Just go over there and talk to her!”
“And say what?”
“Hello? I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?”
“She could hear me!”
“And then what?”
“I could die!”
“You are being ridiculous, did you know that?”
While you discussed with Steve, Robin stood at the counter, glancing at you two.
“You know, you can just… talk to her, right?” Nancy said, snapping her out of her thoughts.
“For what? So she can tell me all about her big crush on Steve?”
“I honestly don’t think she has a crush on Steve” Nancy tried to convince her.
“How would you know?”
“I don’t think they’re each other’s type” she insisted, shrugging. “But you’ll never know if all you do is look at her and never talk to her” she told Robin.
“I’d rather keep my distance” she sighed, looking back at you as you laughed about something Steve had said.
“Well, if you keep doing that, how will she ever know that you have a crush on her-?”
“Shhh! For fuck’s sake, Nancy! Could you keep it down? She could hear you!”
“Are you two talking about Robin’s crush?” Eddie said, coming out of nowhere.
“Great! Munson knows? Did you tell him?”
“I would never!” Nancy said, offended.
“Please, give me some credit, Buckley, it’s not like you’re not completely obvious about it” he laughed.
“Eddie!”
“Wait, what? Is that true? Is it obvious? Do you think she knows?”
“Of course not-”
“She probably does” Eddie said at the same time, earning a slap on his arm from Nancy. “What? It’s not like it would be a bad thing! She likes Buckley too!”
“How do you know that?” Robin asked, seriously.
“I just do” he smiled at her.
“You’re overthinking this. Just go over there and talk to her!” Steve insisted.
“Oh, am I? Okay, if this is so easy for you, why don’t you just go there and talk to Eddie, huh?” you smirked when his cheeks blushed.
“It’s not the same thing” he muttered.
“It’s the exact same thing, Steve” you glared at him.
“Okay, fine. I’ll tell you what. You ask Robin, and I’ll ask Eddie” he smiled at you. You arched your eyebrow at him.
“You’re bluffing” you chuckled.
“I’m not” he insisted. “You ask Robin out, I’ll ask Eddie out” he stated.
“What if I end up asking Robin out and you don’t ask Eddie out?”
“I’ll pay for your first date with Robin” he told you. “Anywhere you want!”
“S-seriously?”
“Yeah” he nodded.
“Huh, why now?”
“W-what? What do you mean?”
“I have been coming here for weeks now. You have known of my crush on Robin for longer. I have been encouraging you to ask Eddie out for months and now all of the sudden-”
“Okay, fine!” Steve said, pulling you towards one of the furthest aisles, which didn’t go unnoticed by Robin. “This guy keeps coming in here and flirting with Eddie” he said, frustrated. “I don’t like it, okay?”
“Aw, are you jealous, Stevie?”
“Shut up” he glared at you but you noticed he was blushing. “Look, it might… help me knowing that we can either both strike out-”
“Love the vote of confidence-”
“Or finally go out with the people we’ve been wanting to for months!”
“That doesn’t even make sense! What if Eddie agrees to go out with you but Robin doesn’t want to go out with me?”
“What if it’s the other way around? Look, we both have the exact same thing to lose here so… what do you say?”
You turned around to look at Robin, who quickly looked away when you locked eyes with her, and you took a deep breath turning back to Steve.
“Okay, fine” you decided.
“Really?”
“Yes!” you said, getting anxious but excited at the same time. “I’m doing it! I’d rather know now than keep waiting for God knows how long” you explained.
“Okay!” Steve smiled. “We’re doing this!”
“Don’t leave me hanging, Harrington!” you asked, putting your pinky out. Steve laughed but linked his.
“We’re doing this!” he said before he pulled you in for a hug.
After a very long shift, Robin grabbed her things and said goodbye to Steve. She was making her way over to her bike but she dropped her bag when she saw you standing there. Talking to yourself.
“Hey, um-”
“Ah!” you jumped a little when Robin tried to talk to you. And then, you felt even more anxious when you saw she was there. “Robin? Robin!” you laughed. “Hi!”
“Um… hey” she chuckled. “Are you okay?”
“M-me? Yes! I’m fine” you chuckled, nervously. “Uh I mean, I think I’m fine. I’m just trying to convince myself that what I’m about to do is a good idea, you know? Because it is. Unless it ends up blowing up in my face, then it will just be humiliating, right?”
“I… guess?” Robin said, a bit confused. “Um… if you’re waiting for Steve, his shift doesn’t end for another hour-”
“S-Steve?” you frowned.
“Yeah, isn’t he who you’re here to see?”
“No!” you blurted out a little too quickly. “I uh- I’m not here to see Steve, why would I be here to see Steve?”
“Um… because you have for the past few weeks?” Robin laughed, still confused.
“No, I haven't!” you frowned. “W-wait, do you think I’m only going to Family Video just to see Steve?”
“Well, you wouldn’t be the only girl in Hawkins that does” she said, sounding a bit annoyed.
“I don’t come in to see Steve” you said defensively.
“Really? I mean, you don’t have to lie about it” she laughed. “Sometimes you come in like three times a day” she pointed out.
“You count how many times I come in?” you asked, feeling your heart flutter.
“I uh- I d-don’t” she stuttered, but you noticed a hint of blush on her cheeks.
“Robin, I don’t…” you sighed, running a hand through your hair. “I don’t come into Family Video that much” you laughed. “I m-mean, I do! B-but um- it’s not to see Steve” you insisted.
“Really?” she asked, still not believing you. “So, I’m supposed to think that you just like movies that much?”
“I could?” you tried. “Okay, n-no. Nobody does” you admitted. “B-but I did come in t-to see someone-”
“Eddie?”
“What no! Gross, he’s like my brother!”
“Well, they are the only two that have been working with me whenever you come in-!”
“Exactly! Who’s the third person?!”
“There is no third person it’s just them and…” you saw her face change when she finally realized it. “M-me” she finished. “Is it me? You’re coming in to s-see m-me?” she asked, still not wanting to believe it. You nodded, looking away, feeling the ounce of confidence you had leaving your body. “B-but you never even talk to me!”
“Yes, I do!” you argued. “I talked to you today when I rented the Dr. Chicago movie!”
“It’s Zhivago” she laughed adorably.
“That’s what I said” you insisted. “L-look, I’m sorry, I know I haven’t talked to you that much. I just… I was trying to get the courage to talk to you. S-so I asked Steve what some of your favorite movies were so I could talk to you about them, but I always got too nervous because you always looked too pretty, and then Steve convinced me that I finally asked you today he will ask Eddie so-”
“Wait, Steve is asking Eddie out? Finally? My nightmare of them eye-fucking each other is finally over?” she smiled. “Wait? Did you say I was pretty? And what do you mean you had to finally ask me-?”
You took a deep breath and left out a frustrated grunt that Robin actually found cute. “I have been trying to ask you out” you muttered, looking away from her.
“Y-you what?”
“You don’t have to say anything. And if you hate me I completely get it, I just- Steve said… I don’t know! I thought-”
“I don’t hate you” she said, making you look back at her. “I thought… I thought you liked Steve” she shrugged.
“I don’t” you smiled, nervously. “N-not that way. Not the way that I like you. Um, I mean, I l-like you a lot. Like more than a friend. Like, um, I would like to ask you out on a date b-but I totally get it if you don’t-”
“I’d like to go on a date with you” Robin said, smiling and getting closer to you.
“Y-you would?” you asked, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Yeah, I would. I really would” she smiled. “Um, for what is worth” she said, stepping even closer. “I d-did count the times you came in” she said sheepishly.
“You did?” you asked smiling as she nodded. “Are you going to kiss me? Are we about to kiss-?” Robin simply leaned in, cupping your cheek with her hand and bringing your lips to hers.
You felt like you were floating on air until you were rudely interrupted.
“Hey, ladies!” the two of you jumped apart and looked back at Eddie at the entrance of Family Video with a big smile on his face. “Double-date with me and Harrington! This Friday!”
“Eddie, get back in here!” you saw Steve pulling him back inside.
“We’re not… really going on a double date with them, are we?”
“No. No, we’re not” you assured her. "No double date!"
“Good” she smiled at you before kissing you once more.
"And no double VHS!"
"What?!"
The End

(day ten) beans, chicken, corn, and leafs? , william nylander
note, this fic is part of my christmas series called taylor's very merry christmas series. check out this masterlist for the rest of the series. pair, william nylander x reader summary, when y/n hears about a homeless shelter serving food a couple of days before christmas, she immediately signs up. when will hears she signed up, he signs up. and gets practically the entire leafs roster (plus their partners) to sign up. warnings, none word count, 849 words
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
Christmas was always one of your favorite holidays. You always loved spending time with family and giving them gifts, but something your family did often help out at the homeless shelter and giving out food.
You spent a couple of Christmases at a shelter handing out food or reading books or watching movies with the little kids, so when you moved to Toronto for school, finding a food bank was at the top of your list.
Every single year, without fault, you had shown up at the shelter, ready to hand out food and bring a couple of your favorite dishes. This year was no different. You had already picked out your recipes and were getting excited.
You and Will were discussing your holiday plans so you could figure out when to fly home, "You know I go to the shelter every year." You bumped your shoulder with his.
"Right." He nodded, glancing down at Pablo who was whining for food, "Do you need help with that this year?"
You smiled, "A little. I think some of the people who usually do it are flying home for Christmas, so we're a bit shorthanded."
"All right, put my name down, and save a couple slots. I know some other people."
"Really? That would be great. And I know there are a few kids who would love to meet William Nylander." You beamed happily, "This is so exciting! Okay, I'll go tell my supervisor." Will laughed as he watched you run off toward the bedroom.
-
A couple of days later, Will brought it up to some of the guys, "So, there's a shelter she goes to every year and gives out food, and they're a little short-staffed this year..."
"Sign us up." JT nodded before Will could even finish his sentence.
"You sure?" He asked, looking at his other teammates.
"We'll all do it, and if I have to, I'll make it mandatory." JT looked at everyone else, his "captain" stare daring them to speak up and say no.
Will let out a happy laugh, "All right, I'll tell Y/N. She'll be thrilled."
-
"Wait, you're serious?"
Will beamed proudly at your reaction, "Yep. Every single guy on the team and their significant other will be at the shelter."
"Oh, my goodness, William!" You tackled him into a hug, "This is so great. Ugh! My supervisor will be so happy."
"And a few of them said they were bringing some of their dishes, so you don't have to worry about making a million dishes."
"William Nylander, you are simply amazing." You were at a loss for words and didn't know how to respond.
"Only the best for you." He responded, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
-
You and Will got to the shelter a couple hours before everyone else was set to arrive to help set up and serve the early comers food who didn't like crowds.
As the players started arriving, so did the people. And when people heard that the Leafs were down at the shelter, they gave in droves. You had the people who came every week and a whole lot of newbies.
Most of the guys were entertaining the kids while their parents ate, so you found yourself standing behind the food tables with the partners serving the food.
"So, you do this every year?" Steph asked.
"Yeah, for the most part. There was one year when I got really sick and couldn't do it, but for the most part, every year."
"Whoa, I feel like I learn new things about you every time I'm with you." She laughed.
"But you all coming here this year, it means more than you know."
"Of course, even if JT hadn't made it mandatory, we would've all still come." Steph smiled, bumping her hips with yours softly.
The night was winding down but there were still people sitting at a couple tables, talking to each other and eating their food, and a few parents with their kids as they talked to the hockey players.
A lot of the guys and their partners had already left, due to having kids at home or because they had plans for Christmas the next day, so you didn't fault them when they said their 'goodnights', only flashing them a smile and a big 'thank you'.
Will took the chair you were once sitting in behind the table and kept you company as you served the people coming in. Once everyone was served, you sat down next to him, "Thank you for doing this. It means a lot."
"I had a lot of fun, a lot more than I expected to have, and I met a lot of great people." He admitted.
"A lot of the people here are great people and have so many good stories, but no one will ever hear them because they don't stop to ask." You smiled sadly.
"I'm glad you decided to stop and ask." He smiled, giving you a hug and a kiss on the top of your head.

Havan, Mahabharat Event 2022
To all who are interested,
I am inviting you to join me in celebrating a follower milestone for my main blog, @chaanv, by participating in ‘Havan’.
‘Havan’ is a month-long event dedicated to the epic known as Mahabharat. The event will run from 6 Nov - 5 Dec 2022 and cover ten themes, with 3 days given to each theme.
To participate, you can create art, edits, fics, GIFs, moodboards, really anything you want.
Things to remember:
You can participate as much or as little as you’d like to. Feel free to make multiple posts for a given theme or none at all.
New content is most appreciated, but old is also welcome.
Late submissions are welcome, too!
I reserve the right to ignore content I find hateful and/or offensive, but will use this right carefully.
I am not too great with tracking tags, but I want to see and reblog your content, so please use the following format for submissions:
@agnisuta | Havan 2022 | day #
Here are the themes:
Day 1 (6-8 Nov):  Major Character
Choose a well-known and frequently discussed character from the epic.
Day 2 (9-11 Nov):  Minor / Underrated Character
Choose a character you want to have acknowledged or discussed more when it comes to the epic.
Day 3 (12-14 Nov):  Relationship
Choose a relationship from the epic - could be familial, platonic, romantic, etc.
Day 4 (15-17 Nov):  Weapon
Choose a weapon mentioned within the epic. Don’t forget about the astras.
Day 5 (18-20 Nov):  Event
Choose any event from the epic that impacts you.
Day 6 (21-23 Nov):  Fix-It?
“Fix” one thing within the epic. Does it really change the outcome?
Day 7 (24-26 Nov):  Adaptation
Choose one of the many adaptations of the epic - could be a book, movie, TV series, etc.
Day 8 (27-29 Nov):  Pandava
Choose a character who is one or ultimately sided with them. Don’t forget about the kids.
Day 9 (30 Nov - 2 Dec):  Kaurava
Choose a character who is one or ultimately sided with them. Don’t forget about the kids.
Day 10 (3-5 Dec):  Creator’s Choice
For anything your heart desires!
Please send any related questions to the event’s blog, @agnisuta. Thank you.

Weekly Pond Newsletter
I couldn't think of anything to write here, so decided I would go into the gif search and use whatever the first SPN-related gif popped up, and this is it. Not sure what to say about it except, maybe, lucky cow? 🤣

Old Business:
New Member Spotlight - The post is up! Finally! Click here to go meet our newest members!
Fishing For Treasures - This weekend is FFT weekend over at the @fanficocean! March's theme is CROSSOVER FICS! A crossover is whenever one story includes elements from more than one fandom. Usually, it's bringing characters from one show/movie/whatever into the world from another show/movie/whatever, but sometimes it's reimagining one story with the characters from another. Check out the Ocean this weekend, and then the Pond in two weeks, to read some awesome crossover stories!
Angel Fish Awards - We said we weren't going to postpone the deadline for nominations this month. We were wrong. The new deadline is tonight at midnight, EST! Click here for the submission form!
#TweetFicTues - Here are your prompts from last week:
Tumblr media
New Business:
Monthly Prompt - The prompt will be posted in the next day or so!
Manta Rays and Discord chats - This week, two of our admins will be spending some time in our Discord server just to chat with you! Admin MJ will be there on Thursday and Admin Marie will be there on Friday. Keep an eye out for announcement posts with all the details!
Competitive Writing Sprints - Manta Ray Arthur will be hosting a session of competitive writing sprints on Friday in the Discord server! This is a chance to add some words to your WIP(s) and win fabulous prizes.
SPN Rewatch: Fanfic Edition - Our next chat will be next weekend and we will be discussing the last two episodes of season one: 1.21 Salvation and 1.22 Devil's Trap. Announcement posts will go up later this week with all the details!
Poll - Admin Michelle read a couple of articles this past week about fanbinding fan fiction stories. Click here to read one article from atlasobscura.com about the fanbinding trend. Would you be interested in learning how to do these things? We would go out and find people who do typesetting and/or fanbinding to come and talk to us if that interests enough people. This could be like our livechat events of old, or maybe we could do something through zoom (if, you know, someone teaches us how to zoom). Give us your basic yes or no in the poll below, and use reblogs/replies to let us know how you feel about the topic, possible formats, or anything else!

That's all for this week! To see all Pond events, and also other SPN-related things like conventions and online concerts, check out our Google calendar! Click here for a static view in Eastern US/Canada time (desktop only, no mobile app access, sadly), and click here to add our calendar to your own Google calendar! We try to keep it as up-to-date as possible. If there's something you want to see on the calendar that's not there (maybe a convention we missed, cast birthdays, or something similar), send us an ASK and let us know!
Hope you have a great week! - From your Admins and Manta Rays, @manawhaat, @mrswhozeewhatsis, @mariekoukie6661, @thoughtslikeaminefield, @spencereliotwinchester and @heavenssexiestangel!
