Regarding Brian's "It's only time speech" - Dan Lipman
"Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come;
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me prov'd,
I never writ, nor no man ever lov'd."

IKEMEN REQUEST BC IT SAYS 5/5 AND I HOPE I'M LAST DFJGHFJDKSDFFJKDLS
Shakespeare "reusing" one of his sonnets to woo the reader with his extremely shitty guitar skills under the window (outside the door) and overall he's just yowling like a cat bc of the guitar 🎸 (also I say reusing bc we've read it in modern times, but for him it's new asf)
note: he is trying smth "modern" to woo the reader but also thinks a guitar is a cittern/cithren hence the yowling
SUMMARY: theo yells at you to wrangle your lover. said lover is trying his best to serenade you.
WARNINGS: none!! :D
COMMENTS: YOU ARE THE LAST DW im writing two things today since i missed yesterday oopsie. i feel like will would be a really nice singer though :(( he has such a ncie voice :((( so yea i changed your request a little bit because i doubt hes the type to YOWL but yk theo is fed up with anyway!!
i used sonnet 116 for this because its so beautifully written excuse my geeking
Tumblr media
“Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments.”
“Hey, Hondje. Tell him to shut up.” Theo huffs, a string of very creative Dutch swears leaving his lips after he slams the door shut behind him.
You can hear what Theo is talking about.
There’s a strange warbling noise that sounds like a musical instrument, along with a very familiar voice cooing unintelligible lyrics from out on the balcony. You open the door that Theo just left, stepping out into the cold night air. The singing becomes clearer, and a smile creeps on your face when you lean over the railing.
“Love is not love Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove.”
It’s Will, a guitar in hand that he’s clearly struggling to play, his eyes trained on the space you occupy now. A smile blooms across his face as he sings, the notes too plucky to be anything but offensive, but it's him and he’s doing something for you, and so you listen.
“O no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests and is never shaken; It is the star to every wand'ring bark, Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.”
It takes you a second to register the words he’s singing to you, but when you realize it's a sonnet giddy laugh tumbles from your lips. Will’s eyes gleam with joy at the sound, and he steps closer to the balcony. His neck is craned up so he can see you, yearning to be close and yet being a whole floor away.
While he may not be able to physically reach you, his words do.
“Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come; Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out even to the edge of doom.”
The sonnet reminds you of Will’s love, of how it’s never changing, of how it’s held up even though everything the two of you have been through together. It reminds me of how devoted he is to you, his love, and how he’d do anything to ensure your happiness, even if he has to sacrifice himself.
It’s something he’s been working on. He’s well aware that it’s not just him who would die if the two of you were parted now.
“If this be error and upon me prov'd, I never writ, nor no man ever lov'd.”
The final notes ring into the night and you offer him a polite clap, the soft sound leaving the night around you two undisturbed.
“Sebastian told me that was an effective way to woo someone from your time period. I do hope you found it satisfactory.” Will confesses, awkwardly holding the guitar like he isn’t sure what to do with it.
This time you laugh loud, raising your head towards the stars as your heart flutters for this man.
“Come inside already!” you call out to him, giggles still seeping into your voice as you rush back inside to let him in.
You’re going to have to make sure Theo isn’t around, but you can deal with that when the time comes. Right now, you need to concern yourself with your silly, wonderfully talented lover.

Just Dizziness - Chapter 4
Tom and I agreed that it couldn't hurt to get a second opinion.  Tom enlisted Luke to help get an appointment with one of the top neurologists in London, Dr. Higgins.
Considering the circumstances along with Tom's celebrity status and Luke's bribe to give Dr. Higgins tickets to whichever west end production he wanted to go to, Dr. Higgins was more than amenable to see me after hours that same day but said the tickets were unnecessary.  With the nature of the case, he wanted to see what he could do to assist.  His staff agreed to stay late as well for whatever tests needed to be run so that they could get a head start.
For Dr. Higgins, this was somewhat of an unusual case.  He ordered a CT, MRI, and some x-rays, hoping that it would shed some light as to what was going on.  When Tom and I arrived, Higgins started on the usual tests, checking my pupils, asking various questions, and then moved on to the CT, MRI, and x-rays.
In the midst of the MRI, I started getting another one of my dizzy spells.  When I opened my eyes, I was back in the hospital with my best friend who was looking more exhausted.  I was tired myself, unable to keep up with what was going on.  Now?  I was starting to no longer care, and not in the good sense.  I felt like giving up.  This was all becoming too much.
When my bestie woke up, she tried to talk to me, but I no longer felt like responding, not really seeing the point.  She called for the attending doctor along with Dr. Day.  He was unable to get me to respond either; however, Dr. Day thought it might be a good idea to have me stay a few more days.  The attending physician agreed and advised they would run some additional tests, see if they could find out more about what was going on.
Sarah never left my side, even with my  radio silence.  When I felt another dizzy spell, I brushed it off, knowing exactly what was going to happen.
When I woke up again, I was back with Tom at Dr. Higgin's office.
"On my darling.  You're awake!  We were so scared, but the doctor thinks he may have found what was going on.  I don't quite understand all of it myself, but it seems that there's some issue that occurred when the accident happened and is recommending surgery in the next few days.  He thinks it will help."
I was still feeling depressed, unsure of which reality was the true one and remained radio silent which concerned Tom, but he knew he couldn't begin to fathom how I was feeling through all of this.  He renewed his vow to stay with me and help me through all of this, never leaving my side and doing whatever he could.
When we arrived home, he carried me upstairs to the bedroom and placed me under the duvet.  He went back downstairs long enough to make a pot of my favorite tea and bring it back up.  He placed it on my bedside table along with some chocolate biscuits.
While I loved the gesture, my depression was getting increasingly worse.  If this wasn't real, then what was the point in tea and biscuits?  The only comforting thing was Tom.  I allowed him to hold me, and he began reciting sonnets.
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
As he spoke, I slowly drifted to sleep in his arms.

I've met a lot of guys in my life. Befriended many and hated a few. A common thing about all the guys that I've seen is that they change drastically after a certain age or a certain stage of their life. I've seen my childhood best friends become a "Sigma male" after growing up and change their overall personality. Some of my friends don't talk to me now because they have got their girlfriends. My favourite cousin became a totally different person after marriage. I've heard from my parents how their brothers changed due to certain circumstances.
But I'm not accusing any of them at all. Men are very different from women. They think differently, they do things differently, they process differently. It's good that they did what they wanted to. They did what they felt was the best. It brought them happiness. Moreover preference changes with time. If a person loves someone or something today, it may happen that the "love" will diminish with time and the "love" will eventually get transferred to someone or something else. It's just a human cycle. Yeah, it sounds rude and hurtful but it's a bitter truth.
But something different happened to me today.
There's this guy I met a year ago who's a very good friend of mine. We get along so well. He's so fun to be with. Moreover he is a very helpful person. Since I'm a very introverted person, I get nervous easily. There are times I felt nervous and uncomfortable in public and he comforted me. Once he even pointed out the good and bad people for me (as I'm an idiot maybe?) and said to be careful. He is like a comfort person to me. Talking to him freshens up my mind. He's so understanding and matured than most of the boys of his age. And he gives the right solution to a lot of my problems. All in all, he's a very good human being.
He has a girlfriend who is just as sweet as him. Both are literally green flags and are just so perfect for each other. I love their chemistry so much that sometimes I feel like I can go to any extent to save their relationship against some extreme situation. I don't know if I'm talking nonsense right now but I'm just letting my heart out.
So today we met and he was saying how he changed for good for his girlfriend. How he was a rowdy kind of a guy before with no aim in life but eventually changed when the right person came into his life and showered him all the love that he needed. He changed just because of her. Just because he realised how important he is to someone's life. Just because he noticed how bad she wanted to change him for good. And just because he wanted his future to be with her.
It is the star to every wand'ring bark Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
~ William Shakespeare's Sonnet 116
It's a poem about love and these lines are perfect to describe their love story.
But you know what the best part is? It's not like his whole life is dedicated to his girlfriend now. It's not like he forgot everyone and everything good that existed in his life before just to be with his girlfriend. Instead he gives more importance to his career, friends and family than before. He chooses his friends wisely, is focused on his career and thinks about the well-being of his family. Not everyone can do this. A very few intelligent people can match the balance sheet of their life. He's successfully doing it and I'm sure that he'll continue to do it for the rest of his life.
Nowadays I just see men and women blaming each other in relationships and saying stuff like "These types of boys/girls don't exist anymore"; "Everyone nowadays is disloyal and cheat". But nobody wants to be the non-existent person that they want in their life. It's not just the responsibility of a boy to change himself for his girlfriend but also the responsibility of the girl to support her boyfriend in every bad situation, make him understand the goods and bads in life and help him to change, and vice versa. Only a good and positive influence can make a bad person good.
I'm glad to meet a person like the guy I talked about and make him my friend. I hope more people could be this understanding and matured so that the sweet old bondings would have never died.

So I found the Sonnet. I was right 116th, though I had the words a bit wrong.
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments; love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom:
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Summary:
I shucked my ruined clothes off, wincing at the pain as they dragged over my burns. I thought about leaving my boxers on, but even the shift of soft cotton against my skin was too much. It felt like every nerve ending in my body had been replaced with something a dozen times more sensitive, like I had become nothing but a conduit for some otherworldly electricity. It felt as though a strong breeze could blow me off my feet and into the sky, that I would fall up and up until I hit the moon and went skipping off into the distant reaches of unknown space.

potion, magic, fangs
potion: favorite horror movie?
John Carpenter's Halloween is simply the best. I watch it every year!
magic: have you had any near-death experiences?
Excluding the times I actively tried to die, I've been in a very bad accident and I was two seconds away from being in a collision that absolutely would have killed me if the other person wasn't thinking fast. I do not drive anymore.
fangs: favorite poem?
I am very basic but my favorite poem is Sonnet 116:
Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
