As a writer, how detailed do you imagine scenes in your work? There is that aphantasia test, and for example I can imagine things at 1-2, I see things as a movie, which can be a gift and a curse for an artist. But I met many people who write/draw but just can't imagine anything, and it's really interesting to read how do they manage to write/draw something from imagination

So - how detailed is your imagination??

I’m an extremely visual-thinking person, I relate very much to that meme that’s all like “the amv inside my head will be LEGENDARY!” when you hear a cool new song, lol. That said, the images in my head do tend to have a bit of a faded & foggy quality, like a realistic image painted with watercolors, perhaps. So I’d say I’m probably a 2, or somewhere between 2 & 3 on the chart? My mental images have color and are vivid, just not perfect clarity, perhaps.

This definitely helps me with writing, at least… a lot of times when I get stuck because I’m not sure yet “what happens next”, I’ll close my eyes and let the scene play out in my head, perhaps “rewinding the tape” and playing out the scenario a few different ways. I often do this before a nap or bedtime so I fall asleep to lucid dreams about the characters, also perhaps stringing together words and sentences in my head (which means I sometimes have to wake up and write them down before I forget)! So, usually by the next day I have a good idea of what direction I’m headed in. I also do this sort of thing while I’m taking walks or on the train or basically whenever I have an opportunity to “zone out”… and as a result I’ve often been told I’m a bit creepy because I always completely check out when I’m daydreaming (this is even before I got back into writing haha I’ve always been a big daydreamer since I was a kid uwu) Also when I read stories too, I visualize in my head pretty vividly what’s going on, the characters’ actions as well as the entire environment (like room interiors, floor plans etc) appears with it and everything, it’s interesting!

Anyway this was so interesting to think about, thanks so much for asking!

as much as i would love to give like. a comprehensive response i genuinely dont think i can get my words together just yet without it being a constant unintelligble stream of 'AND ANOTHER THING-' and bc it's become quite torn in the fandom on if the chapter was good or bad i want like. an actual coherent response here. so i will reblog this if/when i can word it but know IM NOT FUCKING HAPPY

#paragraphs and paragraphs about the villains' endings alone. hawks hpsc president. midoriya's ending #the fact hero society is barely changed and the changes that do happen feel very much TELLING the reader it happened #as opposed to actually showing us how society changed on it. this is smthn ik people will argue w me about #bc yes it was a 400+ chapter manga arguably showing us how society changed but like. did it actually show that #like do u honestly think any community would watch televised battles between TEENAGERS and bad guys #and have the majority of them go 'gah! i cant help but sympathise with the bad guy who just suckerpunched child extra no.28!'#so like. why are they all suddenly on board with massive systemic reinvention. where's the rage where's the bitterness #this wasn't a story on showing the villains as redeemable and working towards society sympathising with them #and slowly painfully coming to a conclusion where japan was ready to change as a COLLECTIVE #this was a story of showing a group of redeemable villains (first step CHECK) getting DEFEATED IN BATTLE #THEY ALL FUCKING DIED EXCEPT SPINNER AND PRESUMABLY COMPRESS #WE DONT EVEN FUCKING KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO DABI AT THE END ONLY THAT HE WAS PUT IN THE EXACT SAME POSITION #HE WAS IN WHEN HE WOKE UP FROM HIS COMA AND DABI WAS BORN. I’m just gonna come out and say it… Byler’s best scene has gotta be the rain fight. It just is. It’s arguably Finn and Noah’s best performance for their characters’ dynamic. It has everything. Repression. Instant regret. Groveling. Heartbreak. Devastation.

Me, rewatching the rain fight to feel something that is akin to every single feeling one experiences after watching a masterful feature length romance, only in this case it’s all happening in one single scene:

honestly the y**ngi dui situation is one of the most interesting events that has unfolded in kpop... maybe it's bc he was my ult for ~3 years and my dad loves him (he has not spoken a word to me about The Situation tho so idk how he feels) but i do think the reaction that came out of fans is why it's so compelling for me to follow to a T

Re watched the pilot ep of Supernatural last night and I haven't been able to get over the fact that John thrust baby Sam into Dean's arms and said "watch out for Sammy" and Dean has tried to do so to the best of his abilities, at the cost of almost everything else, because his dad said so and because that's his baby brother and he loves his baby brother.
