Work is a drag – your supervisor expects mountains from you while allowing himself to pick pebbles. He expects you to be there before him and leave after him even though he allows himself to arrive late and leave on time. He expects you to respond to every email and ask questions but ignores emails sent his way. He condescendingly laughs at you and gets annoyed at you making mistakes even though he’s made plenty himself.

In conclusion, you’re about to lose it. Go absolutely bonkers.

You really have no choice but to continue onwards.

But seriously, who thought a cycle of work and work and more work was a good idea? You have a few choice words for them. Especially since you’re forced to stay longer than you want to because your stupid supervisor decided to give you work at the last minute, two minutes before you clock out.

By the time you arrive home, you’re dead tired, absolutely unable to keep your eyes open. You tell yourself that you need to get changed, eat dinner, brush your teeth, catch up on your weekly show… but your body is too tired to obey any of that, so it’s lulled into a long, dreamless slumber.

When you come to, you wake up on a gorgeous bed in a gorgeous room. You’re disoriented, absolutely positive that you’re dreaming. But you don’t wake up even after pinching yourself so… this must be real?

Your thoughts are interrupted as the doors to the room open, showcasing a handsome man. You’re pretty sure you’ve seen him on the news somewhere. Probably. Anyway, the point is that he’s handsome.

“Are you feeling all right, Darling?” he asks, voice velvety smooth and deep like dark chocolate.

“I guess?” you say, feeling surprisingly calm. He blinks at you.

“Ah… are you not going to ask where you are…?”

“Oh, right.” You nod. “Where am I?”

“You’re at one of my mansions,” he responds, smoothing out his dress shirt. “I’ve selected the best one, just for you.”

“Oh wow.” Flashes of your dingy one bedroom apartment flash through your head. “That’s great.”

“And of course, you’ll have everything provided for you. If you need anything, just tell me – I can get you everything you desire.”

“That’s amazing,” you respond. “I’m in.”

“Wha–” he looks at you, shocked. “I knew you were in dire financial straits but… aren’t you going to be wary of me, Dear? I mean, I kidnapped you?”

“My guy, the economy is awful, I hate my job, and I really just want to enjoy life for once. I am not complaining.” Shrugging your shoulders, your gaze remains steady on him. “Besides, you’re easy on the eyes.”

A bright red blush splatters itself across his cheeks, forcing him to clear his throat. “W–well, I’m pleased that my appearance is desirable to you.”

“Yup,” you reply, before looking at him curiously. “So like… did you stalk me or something? Put trackers on me?”

“Wha–”

“Well, it kinda seems like you’ve been after me for a while, I guess. Sorry if I’m wrong?”

“Well, no, you’re not… incorrect. But does that not bother you?”

“I mean, social media already has all my info anyway, so…” you hum thoughtfully. “Hm. Anyway. Does kidnapping me mean that you won’t let me go out again? A lot of stories have the guy locking their love interest up.”

He blinks. “I… suppose so…?”

“I don’t entirely mind, but I feel like I’ll probably go nuts if I’m not allowed to go out at all. Can’t we compromise? Like… you can have your trackers on me or have someone follow me around. Actually, why don’t you come along?”

He blinks. “Pardon?”

“I mean, it’s a fair trade, isn’t it? I have friends and family that I gotta see so I don’t go insane, but like, I don’t mind spending most of my time here. And if I do go out, you can just keep track of that. Plus it’s not like I have money or power to actually run or something anyway.” You nod, certain.

“You… you’re certainly rather… receptive to this whole situation.”

“Again, the economy is trash and you’re hot.”

He clears his throat, looking embarrassed. “W–well, it isn’t the worst idea in the world, I suppose. However, the world at large is quite dangerous. You can’t fault me for wanting to keep you locked up. It’s the best way to keep you safe–”

“Oh, I know!” you snap your fingers. “Let’s get married.”

“...Excuse me?”

“I mean, that way you’ll legally be my family. Then you can be with me ‘til death do us apart. Or something.” Satisfied, you nod. “Good idea, don’t you think?”

Gears whir inside his head as he looks at you, completely flabbergasted by your proposal. He’s happy that you seem satisfied with the situation and want to marry him but… but…

“Good idea indeed,” he agrees, fully abandoning any notion of common sense (not that he had much to begin with). 

Your willing acceptance of your situation wasn’t what he was expecting, but… who is he to complain?

It’s working in his favor, after all.

CONCEPT DOODLES for an AU I dabbled in with a few friends after the winter king episode but kinda forgot about after the Fionna and Cake finale... I decided to revisit it and explore a little more after coming to terms with everything LOL... So, it's another "Winter King doesn't die immediately after his crown gets nuked" AU, but THIS TIME he's just dying really slowly (like Simon in the Betty episode) and ALSO joins Fionna, Cake, and Simon on their search for magic crowns. There's no logic behind this tbh, we just wanted to put him through The Horrors. And make them all friends. But mostly The Horrors. :) (he only gets to live as a treat, because I think he's funny).

My thing about Veth potentially venturing into polyamory is that I do think everyone involved would be perfectly fine with it and happy to help her experiment, and I think that no matter how they do it, it would not fix her. This isn't to say that she wouldn't get any benefit out of trying! It's just to say that it's not a solution to her actual problem, because I genuinely don't think the problem is that she's lacking any one thing that would make her life complete.

Fundamentally, I think Veth struggles with the idea that there will come a point at which she has to settle. Not in a bad way, just in the sense that she is one person with one life and she will have to live within those bounds. Because the thing is, I don't really think her issue ends at struggling to "have it all"; to an extent she does! She is a good parent, even if her kid is a little rebellious; her marriage is supportive (and has fun sex); she gets to go off to save the world with Yeza's blessing on occasion, when the world needs saving. She doesn't have all of these things all the time, but... that's not really a flaw, that's just a fact of life.

But she started out her adult life settling to an extent—even if she loved Yeza and loved being Luc's mom, she did the safe thing that was expected of her. The goblin attack and everything that transpired after shoved her out of that life, but in retrospect, to an extent it likely feels that that pushed her to find something more that she wouldn't have had otherwise. Being pushed to her limit under the worst conditions made her better, stronger, braver, and at the end of it she found that she could have both her original life and much of her new life—so why wouldn't she then wonder if further experiences of that ilk could do the same?

Crucially, she has not actually run up against a hard limit yet, and as such she hasn't had reason to believe that there is a point at which she has to stop and recognize that there isn't more for her to find. When she was drinking more heavily during missions, even when it caused the death of herself or others, there were no long-term consequences. And the thing is, I'm not saying that she should face that kind of major consequence, but she seems as though she is scared to accept that maybe she could be happy if she stopped before she does.

I'm also not suggesting that she should stop experimenting or trying new things—the Luxon knows I am not one to talk in that realm—but I do think she is searching for novelty not because that would make her happy, but because she doesn't believe that she has the capacity to know what would make her happy. She was unaware that polyamory was even an option, so think of what else she might not be aware of! She doesn't have perfect knowledge of the world, after all, so how can she trust that she's found what she really wants? So yeah, she could fuck someone else, and it might even be an enjoyable experience that she didn't know was missing! But that only prolongs the question of what else she might be missing.

I think that deep down, she's terrified that if she doesn't keep pushing until that external hard limit, she will end up with regrets later, and simultaneously she is resentful that her friends all seem to have reached a point where they are largely content with what they have, because she wants them to have everything. She wants herself to have everything. And she has not yet allowed herself to come to terms with the fact that only she can determine when the everything of what she already has is enough, and anything else is the cherry on top.

everything is softer when you're Melusine, like you're viewing the world from inside a shiny, colorful bubble. your sense of smell, touch, and taste are all different, heightened, and it's quite overwhelming after you initially wake up in your new form. you do eventually get used to it, partially because Merusea is blissfully peaceful and softly lit. you have teeth to chomp and gnash, but your mitten-ish hands have no nails to speak of- a stick of coral will substitute alright, you find, a dead branch that you slowly pick and whittle away as the days go by. it's not the same, not really. but it'll do for the time being, especially on days where everything is overwhelming and you just need a single, simple task to focus on

luckily, Foul Legacy is always there if you need a moment of quiet and warmth. he tilts his head, watching you pace, before trilling softly and tapping the pearlescent floor with his claws. it's a question, see- a way to ask if he can hold you, to make sure you're alright with him touching you. if you nod he scoots over and ushers you into his lap, gently patting your back and holding your head against his fluff, soft and thick and free of tangles ever since you took to giving him regular brushings. you bury your face into the lilac mane, any screams and shouts of annoyance muffled, but you can feel the repressed laughter shaking in his chest as your little tail twitches and lashes much like how Legacy's wings flare up when he's angry

even the Creator gets overwhelmed and irritated sometimes!

It's always funny to me when in an lu fic the chain is offered bananas and don't accept them. Like, you're offering these high energy adventures free food?? Fruit they'll have never even heard of before??? A ridiculously expensive imported good at best?? AND it boosts your attack?

Now that it's confirmed by the finale Swain was already the new Grand General of Noxus we probably should have taken this shot from "Dirty Little Animals" sequence a little more seriously.

Above is a shot of a large man receiving a Pentakill (an LoL metal band like KDA's a girl group) tattoo. There two things very important in this image. One, the tattoo to the left has the same design as the Urgot follow/tattoo artist in Urgot's splash art below to the right.

Second, Pentakill may not exist in Arcane, but the Pentakill symbol is still just Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant and founder of Noxus.

What does any of this have to Swain? Well the only reason Urgot, an executioner of the previous Grand General, Boram Darkwill, wound up in Zaun was because Swain tricked him. In order to successful seize control of Noxus, Swain had Urgot sent on a "mission" to Zaun. Little did Urgot know Swain made a deal with the chembarons to make sure Urgot was taken care of while he enacted his coup.

There's a lot to unpack with that like: What was Silco and the chembarons' relationship with Noxus, specifically Swain? In previous lore it was specifically a chemtech chembaron that was responsible for Urgot's imprisonment, so was it Silco or Renni or a combination of both who were responsible? How deep does Zaun's relationship go with the new Noxian regime, or at least could have gone (that shipment of shimmer was going somewhere)? Now that the chembarons are either dead or imprisoned (seen in "Hellfire" sequence), who's keeping the lid on Urgot.

Of course this could have been a one off easter egg, but I think with the accelerated timeline arcane has put LoL lore on, this would be an interesting development, especially as Urgot is future antagonist for Vi and Caitlyn.

Breaking my tumblr hiatus temporarily because I think it's important to say (/lh) as great as Elias in the orange prison jumpsuit is, such a thing is not international, and actually British prisoners are generally in a blue T shirt, grey sweater and sweatpants.

Now this isn't all that bad right, (and after two weeks with good behaviour they can start to get their regular clothes back) but you see, Elias if I recall (?) would be deemed as a dangerous criminal and is in somewhere around maximum security (possibly with an escape risk), and do you know what those guys HAVE to wear?

Although that mfer gets special treatment in the prisons he'd still be someone people need to be cautious and aware of, and idk it'd be funny to see him forced to wear it so this is my propaganda to you. Put Elias Bouchard in the UK dangerous criminal boilersuit.
