The Voloverse

Posting this mainly so I can link back to it as a footnote whenever I post mr. Man anywhere. Basically in my headcanons and aus Cynthia is an eggy egg who posts a lot of dysphoric cringe in the form of hurting people: she's so disconnected from herself and her body and her life that she can't quite comprehend why people care about anything at all, which leaves her just bulldozing over a lot of feelings because it doesn't seem like a big deal to her.

She lovebombs people then freaks out about it and goes completely ghost, youtube pranks Steven Stone by leaning into the gossip and telling the presses she's pregnant with his spawn despite him telling her It's Not Funny Fucking Stop, etc. etc. That sorta thing.

Eventually she cracks the code, he/hims into a MAN, and remains a bit weird and mentally ill but goes from being very shielded behind masks and facades into being turbo-earnest and sincere.

When PLA dropped with a canon Manthia in the form of Volo I went "Dang this kinda awkward" and made it even more awkward by leaning into it. Cynthia figures out she needs to detit become man due to a portrait of Volo she comes across while doing some ancestry research, lowkey steals his entire identity, and picks the name Cievolo for himself :) (Cielo + Volo)

So whenever I mention Cievolo it's a transsexualized genderbendered Cynthia because I have plots schemes and agendas.

Then in what I like to call the EXPANDED VOLOVERSE within fantasy aus (DND, MH, Miitopia, u get it) things get even MORE awkward because then Volo and Cievolo grew up together. Volo is his uncle, younger brother of Cogita, who is Cievolo's maman. They were pretty tight-knit and Volo was practically the only person who supported Eggthia's dreams of bailing out from the small town they were stuck in and pursue grander ventures. Then he died :( so sad :( that he totally definitely absolutely died due to highway robbery and didn't just orchestrate an attack on his jolly merchant band so he could fake his own death and go underground to start hunting for forbidden arcane secrets to destroy the world with so it'd be as empty as he is inside :(

So in those timelines Cievolo picked his name as an active tribute to his DEFINITELY DEAD uncle, the one who always believed in him... and regrets everything whenever Volo inevitably turns out to be alive because oh god. That's so cringe and embarrassing and confusing. What the fcuck. At least in DND-verse he can lie through his teeth and just say he reaaaally enjoys Volothamp's memoirs about monsters. Yup yup. Volo's Guide To Monsters just his favorite book, really.

Cievolo and Steven are also besties. Strained besties with a vast history of C causing Steve a lot of stress. Like a lot. But besties none the less.

Kaito is just Miu's overly aggressive mod that everyone has interacted with, but no one knows what he looks or sounds like. He simply An Entity to them for the longest time before they all start getting closer.

Kinda love the idea of some of them interacting irl without knowing it's the others because not all of them use their real faces and names. Like Shuuji and Aoi being friends online but also going to the same high school (randomly inserting personal hc that Aoi would go to Shuuji's high school after junior high since they're both honor students lmao) and maybe even being in a club together and just NOT connecting the dots. God them talking about each other TO each other would be hysterical.

What would they even do? Study tip instagram? Baking tutorial youtube channel? Cursed ASMR channel? Booktok????Are they both secretly gamers outside of school?

Or Minoru dragging Takuma to this weird middle of nowhere town that he heard about with a cool shrine that he wants to check out for a video. Just,,,them running into Miu and Kaito ("hey you're locals, right? Could you show us where the shrine is?") and the siblings recognize them bc they do totally post pics of themselves but they do not recognize the siblings whose faces they've never seen. Just casually being impromptu tour guides to the online besties and being too awkward to admit they know them.

Ryo somehow always ends up at the grocery store or the post office or doctor or whatever at the exact same time as Saki or Minoru and eventually they start to recognize him NOT as the guy they play <insert online multiplayer game that is hip with the kids these days. is it still fortnite? do the kids play league anymore? maple story?????> with but as the guy who keeps staring at them like he's seen a ghost when they're at the grocery store or the post office or doctor or whatever.

It'll be so funny when they eventually all finally arrange to meet in person. A lot of "ooooooh" and "YOU?!?!?!"

hi! i’m slowly getting interested in f1 but i don’t really know how to start. so i was wondering if you had any content to recommend (except for the races of course) to get into the fandom, or anything else that could help, really.. thanks :)

oh anon i would love to help!!! are there any drivers/teams you're already particularly fond of or things you want to learn more about? i feel like it'd be easier to narrow down content if i understood your interests better since it's really something you can mold entirely to your own tastes and there are a million different ways to Enjoy and Consume the sport LOL. tbh i call myself an f1 fan but i mostly just rep oscar and in reality enjoy junior formulae more as a whole because i find the process of getting to f1 more intriguing than actually being in it... so it's really whatever you make of it! i'll try to divide my notes categorically so hopefully that helps a little bit but lmk if there's anything specific you're looking for :') and as always apologies in advance for my rambling 💔

getting into the actual sport

having a baseline understanding of the sport is obviously useful but i'm not sure how much you already know so i'll assume you can find super basic info about how seasons and points work! if you want to delve just a Bit further then:

i think chain bear is a decent youtube channel for easy explanations on some technical aspects and little things you may not have picked up on yet that will help when watching races

drive to survive is of course Not Great but it can be a nice and quick window into learning names and faces, even if a lot of it is ridiculously simplified or overexaggerated. it's basically like using duolingo for learning a new language in that it should be regarded as a semi-reliable supplemental material readily packaged for convenient consumption. if there are specific drivers you're interested in you can always pick and choose eps to consume decent Background Lore for, e.g. you can just watch s1e8 if you're a sharl fan

honestly not to shill for official f1 media but i do think f1tv is a pretty decent streaming platform when getting into the sport... definitely not saying you should subscribe to it (if it's even available in your country!) but just as an aside and maybe for future reference i do believe it's very friendly for new watchers because live races have different feeds that let you track race data (gaps, tyre usage, granular sector data during quali, etc.) and it also lets you switch between driver onboards which can be cool. moreover it has pre-race/post-race shows, technical analyses, archives of past seasons, all the f2/f3 content, documentaries, etc. so it's a pretty complete package! although a good amount of stuff gets x-posted to the official youtube channel so it's not a big deal

if you like podcasts, i think beyond the grid is cool because it has a fun variety of interviews (current drivers, retired drivers, tps, engineers, etc.) about both past and current events so you can basically seek out whatever you're interested in learning more about. otherwise i don't really listen to f1 podcasts regularly because i have weirdly low patience for them compared to hockey, but my friend told me that shift+f1 does yearly primers so that could be something useful to check out! (here's the 2023 season preview, i haven't checked it out but i thought i'd link anyway)

keeping up with news

obviously an important part of fandom is trying to keep up with current affairs, so if you haven't already then i would of course follow the f1 youtube channel + twitter account (or whatever other social media you use), f1 nowadays is extremely effective at marketing itself so it's not like hockey where you're fighting for your life waiting for the unfunniest puck personality video in existence to drop every 8 months. not that all f1 driver content is necessarily funny but there's probably a touch more investment in maintaining the illusion! anyway.

if you use reddit then r/formula1 is honestly probably the best aggregate source of f1 news and up-to-date info, i don't read everything there but it's pretty useful and easy to navigate. plus sometimes when i want to cause myself irreparable psychic damage from something that already pissed me off i can venture into a 500-comment section to get my blood boiling even more... 10/10 would recommend

other than that it's really like — follow official channels for any other drivers or teams you're fond of tbh, i do have a few motorsports journalists in my twitter list but since i respect the fact that some people don't enjoy endless news spam i'd maybe just recommend chris medland if you want a succinct live feed during races for the moment? f1 journalism is kind of godless so you don't *need* to follow that many reporters on a whole.

driver personality content

unfortunately i'll be showing my age when i say i don't have a tiktok account but now that i think about it that's probably a great source of information because it seems like f1 fandom is thriving over there!!! regardless the official f1 youtube does have a lot of little driver personality videos you can watch to get to know them more, and again i'd recommend checking out official team + driver channels for more tailored longform content. for ex just from very recent mcl fan pov they have an unboxed series with behind the scenes of select races and also loads of fun minigame content; every team should have at least SOMETHING to nibble on but certain teams are definitely more marketing-savvy than others (aka big 3 + mcl) 🥲

official f1: f1 has a yearly series called grill the grid with just mini quizzes that all the drivers compete in, some are less interesting but it's overall not bad content. the channel has a playlist for the 2021 gtgs which includes the iconic sebvettel world champion video LOL... actually if you sort the f1 channel by Most Viewed there are probably some fun classic videos in there (looking now it's a lot of crashes but you can ignore those lol), like press conference highlights and other convenient top 10 lists. for a random rec i was just nostalgically revisiting the 2019 rookie of the year video and it was getting to me a little bit!

sky sports f1 will also occasionally have good interview/inside content that you can check out, a lot of it is geolocked though (same with canal+ content in france). but for example i felt so much experiencing this random alex interview from last week... he is truly guy of this world

fan compilations: again if there are any drivers you like then you can just search up their names and there will be a ton of comps with Funny MomentsTM, sometimes it helps to just pick a guy and see how you feel about him as you consume content because your true interests will organically develop and surface eventually... sorry i feel like i'm writing a manifesto on fandom in general which is definitely not what you asked for LOL. but like twitch quartet (aka charles, george, alex, and lando) have a ton of silly streaming highlights you can find on youtube, lando has a gaming company called quadrant that he does videos with which can be uhhh hit or miss depending on how much you enjoy Lad Culture, etc...

really it's so easy to get hyperspecific with content once you pick a team or driver so i'm not sure what else to recommend on a general level but that's what i've got off the top of my head! fandom definitely skews a lot toward rb/merc/fer/mcl so it's easiest to consume both video content and fic for them, but if you're willing to go trawling for interviews then you can really get invested in anyone... fandom culture also varies so wildly depending on how you follow the sport and which drivers you invest in emotionally. my closest friend is a "chirlie" as they say and it really is an experience rife with organizational trauma and TFW You're Beholden To The Stranglehold Of Your Legacy so that's always a great pick if you're craving maximum narrative evisceration, or if you're in it for the fic then you could literally just get really into maxiel, but i'm basically chilling in my land of rookie stonks and sit down to watch non-mcl content maybe once a month.

honestly i only follow like 3.5 f1 fans on tumblr because i'm objectively terrified by the size of the fandom HLSHDFLKH so i mostly consume things in a vacuum and talk to like one friend 😭 but there loads of cool creators out here and you can always find a few gifmakers/fanartists/etc. and just follow the rabbit hole from there!!! best of luck and hope this helps >__<

cuz its like. this is just a thing to be consumed now. its no longer ART or WRITING or STORYTELLING or COMICS or VIDEOS or ACTING it's all just content. i think its funny to say stuff like "YUM YUM MORE CONTENT" cause its like, making fun of how you're just CONSUMING this thing so damn much. just really inhaling it.

but just referring to all art in passing as "content" is like. really reducing it to just something to be consumed and make more of. the word content is so nondescript and kind of insulting. art isn't just content to gorge yourself on and there are people behind it who put effort into it.

it's also completely unnecessary because we already have words for nearly every kind of art "content" could refer to. that "homestuck content" i reblogged was a comic, it was art. coulda' just said homestuck fan art, and it'd sound less awkward and impersonal as well. fan art rolls off the tongue, fan art has a history. fan art is already an entire type of art which encompasses any kind of art made by fans for homestuck.

and the word Content was, to my knowledge, mainly popularized by the kind of internet celebrity who calls themself a "content creator" or an influencer. Content Creator????? are you shitting me??? you Create Content?? what content??? what kind of content?? are you an artist, a poet, an essayist, a critic, how do you see your art beyond the fact that it's Content you Create.

not to say there aren't people who call themselves Content Creators that I respect but they're mainly youtubers and youtubers have always had a weird time figuring out what to call themselves (because youtuber doesn't sound like a real job, and content creator is sterile, and influencer is for assholes, but if you call yourself an artist or a film maker or something then people will call you pretentious cause you "just post videos on youtube" so like. i get it)

ANYWAY THE POINT IS THAT I DONT LIKE THIS TREND TOWARDS CALLING ART AND CREATIONS CONTENT. its WEIRD and dehumanizing and unpersonal and i feel like it's part of a wider trend on the internet towards demanding more of the "content" you like without considering who makes it and why they make it and if it's even within your rights to demand more.

theres a bit more nuance to it, for example i don't really mind when people use the word content to describe a wide array of niche things that have been traditionally left out of the sphere of what people call art, but like. c'mon guys. use your words.

These are the underrated Telugu film recommendations that I already posted on here, they're underrated but they're definitely worth the watch (ig they have subtitles on the streaming platforms I mentioned and most of them are rom coms). I'm mostly a curator of hindi, english and telugu films so you might find others recommending other language or more films💗

Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha (Telugu)

(it's available on Amazon Prime with subtitles, kindly check if it's the same in your country) - it's a comedy of errors that takes root in the protagonist willing to do anything for the girl he loves. Even drive her nieces and nephew across state with a slew of gangsters on his tail.

Black (Hindi)

(Rani Mukherjee and Amitabh Bachchan) - I have no words for this movie... It's a piece of art is all I can say. It's not a romcom though, it's like the Hellen Keller case but make it Indian. If you're venturing into desi movies, it'd be a wonderful experience to enter the art this way.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (Hindi)

This has a star studded cast and omg it's made our childhood over here in India. It has cute dance numbers and celebrations. It's a pakka romcom/family drama movie and you'll be addicted to the theme song that plays literally every 10 seconds

Dil Chahta Hai (Hindi)

A story about 3 friends who find love all in their own way. A heartfelt movie about friendship and how each perceives love.

5.

Dil Dhadakne Do (Hindi)

Partly a romcom but full time chaotic family drama but more refined lol. It's about a rich emotionally-broken fam roaming Greece on a cruise in an anniversary party of the parents.

6.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - If you haven't been out in a while, this movie will give you all the FOMO of the world lol. Three friends (again haha) set out to roam Spain for a bachelor's trip and find themselves. It's like a fest for the eyes (and i'm not just talking about the sceneries 🙈)

7.

Hello

(it's on disney hotstar?) A heartfelt romance of a boy and a girl's happenstance of a friendship. They cherish the short memories before they are torn apart from each other and years later, they meet each other without knowing who the other is.

8.

Oohalu Gusagusalaade

A romcom/comedy of errors where our protagonist has the bad luck of having to help his boss get a girl, only that girl turns out to be his first love. (I linked the movie available on youtube, it has english subtitles)

9.

English Vinglish

(not a romcom, so sorry, but it's a must watch with all the right emotions) Our protagonist is looked down upon by her family for not knowing English. When she goes abroad for her niece's wedding, she makes sure to learn the language that would make them consider her one of them.

Dear Zindagi

(you can rent it on youtube or watch on netflix maybe?) more of a find-yourself film again, but this is so relatable and heartfelt... a successful cinematographer visits a psychologist for therapy and he helps her see her life in a new way. Starring Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan. Must watch Indian film

Jab We Met

Honestly if you don't watch this, i have failed you. This is the story that basically defined 2/3rd of every desi girl's personality. Aditya is a suicidal millionaire with no hopes on life. He meets Geet, an over-enthusiastic girl with a peculiar outlook on fate. One missed train and a brothel later, his life turns for the better. (the songs HIT and so does the ship, it's just iconic, this is called positive romance)

Nuvvu Naaku Nachav

(i have no idea where you can find it but when you do, i promise you the jokes are funny. they're the real telugu comedy if i may so) an unemployed Venky moves into his father's friend's house. It is here he starts falling for the friend's daughter, who might or might not be engaged. (no physical cheating)

Barfi!

I saved the best for last😎 This masterpiece can be found on Netflix with english subtitles. It's a romcom/comedy of errors/fucking heartfelt love story. It will make you cry if you're engrossed. Barfi, a man who cannot hear or speak, meets his autistic childhood friend Rimjhim when he wants to kidnap her for money. (it is NOT stockholm syndrome) If you do not watch this movie, I might as well cry🥺🥺

So there you go, 12 more must watch/underrated desi movies. I'm assuming you're open to the Indian way of cinematography and aren't one of those who judge simply because it's different from what they're used to. These are the gems chosen out of a lot others💗hope you like them!

taeil - just a waystar employee that is really efficient at his job. for some reason he always seems to be around the higher ups but no one knows what his job actually entails. he comes and goes and when logan is like "who the fuck is that guy?" the camera just pans to him like :-D

johnny - literally cousin greg. he got off the train from chicago and immediately got himself tangled in a corporate fraud scandal. he posts vlogs to his failed youtuber channel like "hanging out in my cousins' yacht" and "we gave ten thousand dollars to a hobo to smoke a dead rat"

yuta - shiv. he's already a chaotic neutral but i feel like he could really do shiv's character justice and stop her from being a cringe failed girlboss in the process. yuta being the head of his own company would literally be a win for feminism btw

doyoung - tom. rip to all of you but i'm right. he already sings like he's literally on the brink of divorce and his wife is asking him to have a threesome w a girl but then wants him to only watch - all while trying to keep afloat a corrupt company where he got the short end of the stick to be "the face of the operation"

jaehyun - connor. he's already got the failed acting career so it makes sense that he'd turn into a patron of the arts for his paid gf

jungwoo - willa. (hiii jaewoo shippers!) he could literally make willa the most interesting character of the show and i think he'd enjoy humiliating the roys a lot. but he'd become besties w yuta's shiv

mark - cousin johnny's friend from college that is studying law but can't yet give much legal advice because he still hasn't gotten to that class. they smoke a ton of weed at one of johnny's amusement park gigs and he's the reason why johnny threw up in his costume and got fired

haechan - the tabitha to some poor fuck's roman. idek if he's actually tabitha all i know is he's there for a good time not a long time and promptly runs off with the roy's hush money after catching logan snorting coke off a hooker's ass or something.

ten - literally stewy. he's both morally and sexually ambiguous but everytime he shows up everyone is delighted. ppl keep asking for him whenever kendall goes somewhere like "hey why didn't you bring stewy?" before he goes and cries in the restroom

kun - kendall. he has three bored ape nfts and then word gets out that kun roy purchased nfts and the stock price crashes cause everyone sells theirs. look me in the eye and tell me that would not happen exactly like that

yangyang - kendall's dealer probably. like he's just around enough for it to be funny because everytime he shows up kendall is like "did i call you?" and thinks he forgot. roman has a psychosexual gay crush on him and asks for some ketamine at a party before yangyang dabs and shuts him down.

xiaojun - one of tom's cringe failed friends from college or something. he just shows up once or twice per season but he always seem to be slightly uncomfortable and gets roped into weird social situations with the roys

hendery - a friend of roman from like his weird fashion circle that doesn't do much and hangs around at the roy's parties before making fun of kendall kun

winwin - a model that shows up once in an episode w the roys and fucks off to never be seen again, yet the fandom never seems to shut the fuck up about him

It just felt so validating to have somebody other than Ranboo and Tubbo themselves refer to those two as husbands. To have their relationship acknowledged not only as real, but as important. That stream was so good for so many reasons I won’t get into right now, but just-- that moment alone, and I feel seen. That moment alone and I feel validated. Thank you to Technoblade, genuinely, for being the one to acknowledge and recognize it.

Actually while we’re talking about CCs who are queer but never get recognized as such, can we talk about Karl too? Please? It hurts me that he only feels comfortable talking about being ace on his alt, and says he doesn’t think it counts or that he’s part of the community. Karl and Dream both deserve better. I really truly hope that the youngest streamers coming out will pave the way for the slightly-older ones to be accepted, too.

Fills me with all sorts of weird emotions to see G4TV die a second death as someone who spent absurd amounts of time watching it as a kid but had no desire for it to come back as an adult. Like it ultimately ended up becoming a way to get small(er) streamers some notoriety/eyes on their work in the long run, but the disconnect on what the network was, what it'd become, and what people actually wanted from it was insane

A network returning means some of the old has to come back, so you tepidly promise a lot of the show hosts returning, though only a few of them would, (because most of them have jobs with some degree of security and probably don't actually want to come back,) and rebuild some old names like AOTS and X-Play in a streaming format. Then it... doesn't get enough eyes on it to be sustainable. Likely because A) a corporate backed rebranding treated a streaming content house like a TV studio, and lost a ton of money on overhead B) people thought they were getting the exact same programming from 2004 again in 2022, which isn't feasible at all and 3) there are entirely too many options when it comes to getting games news, first looks, takes, etc.

I would routinely see people on Twitter who had no idea that G4 had returned, in replies to their more popular tweets, hashtags, and so on, and it was always wryly funny and sad to me. It was almost always the people who really wanted the old X-Play and AOTS back instead of the similar but different product they ended up making. The thing people don't realize is that a lot of that content is ass! It's not good at all! They don't really want it back! And I don't say that just because you'll occasionally hear a host or two drop the r slur or call something fruity, it was just genuinely poor quality, and at worst, decent ideas edited down to be palatable for what was largely a young male audience. I know this because I spent the better part of 2020 throwing on old episodes of X-Play and AOTS while I tried to distract from the pandemic. That being said, it was all that capital VG Video Gamers had to eat, and honestly? When it was good, it was pretty good! I don't wanna just straight up say all of what was produced at G4 in the 00s was bad, because it wasn't! There was soul, it was just suffocated by weird post 9/11 shock and awe comedy and, more importantly, horrible company mismanagement.

G4 succeeded in the early '00s because nothing was competing with it. It failed in the '20s because it was competing with everything and the people at the top had no fucking earthly idea what they were getting into. There is a sea's worth of gaming content being made every day. Dudes with 2 hours to kill after work and an Xbox with a $20 headset can upload a video of them playing a new game and reacting to it the day it comes out and they barely have to think about it.

That also isn't to discount the people who worked on the new G4 or the content's quality, by the by. They're all still people, people who were doing this shit as a means to supplement shitty 10 hour shifts at a retail job or going to school full time, or even just people who were stable but could get reliable paychecks instead of depending on subs and spotty YouTube revenue. They're now all people who have to find a new job immediately because they figured out through Twitter on a Sunday evening that they no longer have a job. It's fucking terrible. And people loved their content! Even if I personally didn't get it or vibe with it, there was still a decent community who showed up for these creators. I don't have to say the line about capitalism right? Everyone just kinda immediately thinks it about the gig economy and streaming and working to barely live now, right?

I had a whole thing here that paid lip service to Frosk and the fact that Gamergate drones are going to chant that Feminism Did G4 In like a company slogan but giving them any more lip service than I am currently is too much. Fuck 'em

Nostalgia is weird! G4 wasn't always as bad as people who post about them constantly re-running Cops and Ninja Warrior swear it was, but its content wasn't the Citizen Kane of games coverage. It was a weird, slapdash but ultimately Pretty Cool building block/lesson to be learned. Games journalism is an incredibly weird and ephemeral industry that's now also reckoning with a changing media landscape, and G4 is definitely a strange tangent/pockmark in its overall story

Had a deltarune dream where there was a strange door (it was red) that you normally couldn't open but could after playing chapter 2

Inside you'd play a version of chapter 2 that Toby scrapped but thought it was too funny to not let it see the light of day. It was called Weird Route explicitly (so fandom don't actually make this post popular it'd just make things more confusing)

Toby explained this on Twitter, that while the route wasn't canon it wasn't uncanon either. Iterally SO ooc come on dream brain do better)

It had a dramatic fully animated opening that was animated 2d pixel of Kris opening the red door, Kris was alone this time around for the journey. (Which is weird, that already happened in canon anyway)

I don't remember much but there were new side kicks, I couldn't get far cause I was forced to go to bed (it being super late, like, 4am when playing)

I remember Kris speaking and saying "gauddian angel" out loud in the cutscene so that was kinda cool. It had some dramatic cinema red lighting

I remember it was revealed when a new character got a darkworld form they tried to go Super Sayin (with the dramatic pose and lighting of trying) and failing. Susie than reveals everyone does this when they get to darkworld, hoping for a second form. That checks out ngl

I'm really bummed despite waking up I don't remember much of anything cause in the dream I was trying so hard not to spoil my playing experience and was getting my friend to play it.

When we were rushed to bed I DID peak onto YouTube to see how much people were able to play (I felt I was one of the first) and surprisingly there was a full Playlist of it that revealed the scrapped route actually went further than canon chapter 2, showing Toriel's darkworld outfit and that undyne was a party member (no darkworld outfit for her though)

Toriel’s outfit was a desatueated blue wizard robes with a little hat. The area was ice themed for whatever reason.

Anyway that'd all I sadly remember. This probably wasn't that interesting but I wanted to write it down so what little i remembered wouldn't be erased with the sands of time

thinking about how “Church Prime” and “Memberships” would work as a religion in universe.

Basically, here’s how I figure it would work.

So basically, there are hundreds of thousands of millions of deities but despite all of them technically being individuals, it’s uncommon to speak of one specifically.

The entities are collectively known together as, the Chattering Swarm, or the Chattering Gods, or simply, the Chat.

The Chattering Gods watches over a person, but they often switch up who they choose to watch. Sometimes it’s you, sometimes it’s your friend, sometimes, it’s your enemy, sometimes it’s both.

The idea is that you want as much of the Chattering Swarm to watch you at a time, especially when you are doing something important.

Also, good luck.

If you can a get member of the Chat to like you enough, then they’ll make a promise to give you some fortune regularly. This is called Subscribing or Joining (depending on if you’re in the Prime Church or the Youtube sect) and getting as many of these as possible is one of the goals of members of the church

Sometimes they’ll speak directly to you, in an emotionless whisper when they do this.

Sometimes they’ll give you visions of things that they personally think are amusing.

All of these things are good. They mean that you’ve been granted good fortune by the Chat.

But, the more that the Chattering Gods focus on you, the more you must be careful what you say. Saying something awful might result in the gods turning their back on you.

Being friends with someone that chat dislikes can result in your chat leaving you as well. That is why the people who’ve driven their chat away are referred to as “having been cancelled.”

On the other hand, associating with someone who the Chat favors can make them favor you as well.

Ringing a bell and calling for the Chat is a common way to get the Chat’s attention on you so that they’ll grant you good fortune.

(P.S. A very funny part of this is that it makes Technoblade and Tommyinnit super religious)

I actually like Mia, but her stans are hyper-sensitive. It's perfectly fine to dislike anyone or anything for any reason. People are allowed to have their own preferences. If you were calling her a tr***y or harassing her on Instagram, then, yeah, it'd be fine to call you out, but making untagged comments in your own Tumblr is fair game.

Oh I’m glad you brought her up again bc yesterday I said I only had five posts about her which is a total lie, there were six. I just didn’t tag her or the relationship in it so it didn’t come up lol. And that time I was ASKED about her and I said, and I quote... I just do not care. 

Like if you like her, that’s cool. But I do not see why they get so offended when someone says they don’t like her. Like where is her music? You look her up on youtube and it’s nothing but snapchat stories or Darren talking about her. Where are her acting credits? You look her up on imdb and she has one credit listed under everything, all for shorts. Oh, and for playing “herself” as an audience member during DWTS. Like... honey what am I stanning here? The like “shadiest” one I guess was making fun of the jean jackets at the wedding, and I tagged that as “lol miarren” just bc I figured if you liked miarren and had any sense, that tag would be blocked. I didn’t tag the others as anti or lol because, well, I thought they were neutral and not worth tagging

But idk I guess cause I’m not like singing her praises and laying out a trail of rose petals for her to walk across my blog on, they’re fine with calling me a tin hatter. Side note: Only partly relevant but I thought it was funny. Shortly after the wedding I had shown my mom (we watch lots of Say Yes to the Dress and she loves fashion) a picture of M’s dress (she has no idea who M is) and she literally made these fake gagging sounds before telling me how hideous it was. Under a read more because A. It's a little long but I also talk about an anime episode I watched that isn't very "wholesome" and I regret it.

However, I did decide I'm going to add music suggestions to my posts now because I found a really cool song by chance.

Positives:

Life: dirty jokes are hilarious.

General: finding new random music to jam out to is one of life's greatest gifts, man.

My dog has been a bit extra needy today. She's been crying when I go to bed at night and leave her downstairs (she needs to be in her pen at night because she's old and she has her pads in there for the inevitable). She usually isn't this needy at night. I've always been told that dogs sense things tm and I'm beginning to wonder if this dog knows I'm being dragged off God knows where again. She's been pawing for a bit more attention today as well than usual. She was sick and seems to be doing better, but idk what her problem could be other than she just senses something and wants more attention. She's a good girl, though.

Other than that, I didn't touch a game today. I spent most of the day writing in my VR story, then spent a good couple of hours trying my damndest to find that song I can't remember. It was one of many preloaded Zune songs on a 64 gig black and bronze model, there was an album cover with black and green and I think a green parrot or green bird of some kind, and no playlist with the songs has it! I remember it sounding something of the same vein as Hurts Like Heaven by Coldplay or that one song by The Killers but I can't remember anything else, and naturally nobody knows what I'm talking about either. Oh well.

While writing I goofed off a bit with YouTube and VRV. For some reason there's an abridged version of Konosuba, and it isn't nearly as funny as the original. Why do you need to abridge it? A. Its already criminally short and B. Funnier in most regards than most anime or shows in the last 10 years.

Then I also decided to ATTEMPT to watch an episode of Monster Masume (I think it's what it's called? It's the harem anime with the snake waifu that I saw some people gush about). 1. VRV sucks, so it constantly kept trying to skip parts or rewind or go to the next episode. 2. I'll admit. I've "seen" things in my time. I decided not to explicitly watch anything overtly fanservicey (with the exception of Konosuba because it's not SOLELY what it's about) or harem anime a few years back when I kind of got desensitized to it all and it all just became kind of bland and samesy plot and fanservice material. I simply decided to watch because I saw enough of the snake girl and centaur and spider girls and thought it'd be fairly wholesome and funny, and I was kind of hoping it'd be a bit like that one monster girl anime where the teacher basically tries to invoke universal education to figure out how to help them out and genuinely care for them like a good, wholesome teacher and not at all turn into some weird pervo thing.

I was wrong. I was VERY wrong. First 2 minutes, protagonist kun is being suffocated by snake girl's boobs, being constricted by her snake body, and makes her stop by literally jacking her tail off and making her... yeah. Maybe VRV was being a bro here and saving me from watching more of it. Suffice to say mmm not my cup o tea.

Like I'm not so much bothered by a little fanservice- sometimes it's hilarious (Darkness's entire character from Konosuba, Ana from Shinometa, or for some reason Free! at least to me is a god damn chuckle fest). Sometimes it helps a romantic scene. It's when an anime relies SOLELY on it or as a top priority is when things become bland. Hell I remember watching Kill La Kill and forgetting that our hero and antagonist fight in lingerei because I was more absorbed in animation and action than anything, and being genuinely surprised when a friend of mine didn't watch it when it aired on Toonami. You can't even avoid it these days because it slips even into kids stuff like Pokemon and is basically a necessity at this point to sell, I guess. Basically I'm either so desensitized to it that I'm not bothered by it in some scenarios, I take it the completely weird way and laugh hysterically, or I have to stop the episode because it gets too weird for me- like jacking off snake girl tail. That was bad. I mean, I laughed at how absurd it was, but it was bad.

Anyway, I at least got around to writing more. I have an end goal in mind but I'm at least getting to a few different plot points here and there. I'm debating if I want a character to die or not at this point, one of which I'm not all attached to and another I definitely am. I just gotta figure out how to go as bout it.
