quite interesting how the valencian government cut the emergency services and last october there were unprecedently catastrophic floodings there, and how the city of los angeles cut the funding for the los angeles fire department and now there is a catastrophic fire going on. almost as if there was a pattern going on here...

Imagine you're a robot girl (stay with me) and you're made by a corporation right like you're made by a company for other people but like. You're made by a company. At any moment that company could decide that your line isn't profitable enough and they could cut software updates and support as soon as tomorrow. In the blink of an eye the very things keeping you alive stop coming and you've become terminally ill overnight, your only chance of salvation being the thin hope that in the future a niche group of data hoarders or software engineers become obsessed with getting you to work again. You're an object with sentience and a brain and wants and needs and at any moment the Google news feed of the crusty computer nerd you live with could spit an alert across your eyes telling you that you have months to live.

What even happens when the time runs out? Does life continue as normal, but you're sick more and more often? Do the viruses take more and more processing power to fight off as your security protocols fall out of date? Does the world become muted and distant as your compatibility fails? Do you one day just lose your Internet connection forever, a loss so profound that you can't explain it to your human companions? It's worse than a limb, but not quite like losing your mind.

Do you lose function bit by bit, or are you able to scrape by on second hand parts? Bit by bit replacing the pieces of you that fail, all the while living a muted, disorienting existence without the ability to right yourself? Are you more or less of a person now that you've lost touch with the network? Lost your connection to the metaphysical, to you, the divine? Are you eventually bricked after falling behind one too many software patches? Do you fry after trying to take on an update you're not able to even contain, a piece of software so complex and unfathomable that it burns you to a crisp from the inside out

one of those 'extremely grateful for jarred indian sauces you can stick a protein and some veg into and eat over rice' sort of nights

#like sometimes‚ especially with someone else to keep me on track‚ i manage Actual cooking #and sometimes i manage 'thing in a can' or 'frozen thing'#but there's such a shockingly good ratio of time+effort to taste that you can achieve if you just. get a good jar of sauce.#a package of already mostly-cooked precut chicken to stir into it (that was on sale‚ even!).#a bit of fresh cilantro to sprinkle on top.#some peas out of the freezer. curry leaves ditto.#like yeah it turns into a bit of a stone soup production but the thing is—that makes it feel so much more possible to me #when i'm on my own and low on executive function spoons #than committing to prepping from scratch. cooking onions down. etc.#and now i'm like. eating a thing that actually tastes reasonably real and tasty and satisfying #and it took significantly less time than it took the rice to cook #idk it's just like. really nice sometimes to have an option that isn't 'run up against the brick wall of yr own brain sucking' or 'starve'#tl;dr extremely grateful for jarred indian sauces you can stick a protein and some veg into and eat over rice!#mundanities #domesticities #food #journaling

i think it’s fun that blossom and buttercup butt heads the most vs brick who targets boomer and more or less gets along swell with butch

#once again this is just me stating the obvious but i think about it a lot anyway #like with buttercup it’s a general refusal to follow the given instruction #vs boomer whose issue with brick tends to be incomprehension or lack of capability #and like. the difference between a leader who wants a Good Clean outcome vs one who just wants to have fun at all costs #butch has no reason to oppose brick because their goals basically align similar to how bubbles and blossom function #whereas buttercup Wants to be reckless under the instruction of someone who simply is Not #and boomers situation is a bit different because he really doesn’t oppose Brick much at all #he’s just a bit slow to catch on and will tend to speak out of turn out of excitement to contribute to a situation #vs butch who quite literally just parrots a lot of what brick says in a lot of his dialog #boomer is just ‘soft’ enough to be an easy target #it also Is just really fitting of brick to aim that kind of attitude at someone who’s less likely to do anything about it #whereas blossom generally has a real point she wants to drill into buttercups head so the resulting fight is. kind of the goal #idk where i’m going with this i just saw a post that made me want to organize these thoughts somewhere #bubble journal #editing to add more #like alright boomer is. undoubtedly a part of their group #i don’t think he’s a true odd one out he Isn’t #he scraps with them and likes the same things they do and generally likes to participate with them #he just so happens to be the ‘worst’ relative to the other two at being a Rowdy/ruff Boy #at least in the way they perceive one ought to be #so when he gets a bit too obviously naive he’ll get singled out #but it’s clear he can generally keep up with them anyway #if only for the fact that brick and butch can instantly tell when bubbles wasn’t able to #does this make sense i feel like i lost the plot

linux is kind of cool i guess but right now i'm dealing with a situation where i might have to factory reset my steam deck because i wanted to change the colour of my taskbar
