Ahhh skybridger 5 times pls?
quick summary: this is a companion fic to it's a gift to be truly known since I thought it'd be a fun exercise. that fic is "5 times ezra knew someone before luke + 1 time he didn't" and this one is going to be something like "5 times someone had a crush on luke + 1 time they didn't" this excerpt is the start of one of the times.
also thank you for unwittingly giving me an opportunity to push my "hera (and ezra) should get to mentor young venisa doza (pre-doza)" agenda! and uh sorry that it's maybe not the most skybridger-y of moments
When he enters the hangar, Ezra takes stock of the ships; some are still smoking or ripped apart, but every one is there. Most importantly, Luke's is there, along with Luke himself.
He's standing by his X-wing, frowning and gesturing widely to an unimpressed mechanic. It makes Ezra smile, fills him with relief; of course Luke would be arguing over repairs or improvements barely half an hour after returning from a mission. Of course he made it back okay.
Ezra's about to go drag him away for the good of everyone involved when he spots someone familiar, not far off and clearly ogling Luke. Venisa.
And, look—Ezra hadn't planned to be the unofficial ambassador for young rebellion fighters, or whatever it is he's unofficially become. It's not like he's the only person who's grown up in the rebellion and he'd argue he's definitely not the most well-adjusted or the best at giving advice. But somewhere along the way, commanders started asking him to talk to their young recruits when they struggled with losing someone or a first battle gone wrong. And, as much as he complained at first, Hera only encouraged it. (People like you, Ezra, she said with a smile. Deal with it.)
That's how Ezra knows Venisa; her squadron leader sent her Ezra's way after a few reckless missions and he couldn’t help but like her. She's sharp, a hell of a pilot, and fearless—even if she is still young and naive enough to think Ezra knows what he's doing.
He should leave her be, but… the way she’s looking at Luke…. Maybe it's because she's one of his little baby rebel Loth-ducklings and he feels responsible for her, or maybe it's because he knows very well what it's like to be a teenager with an impossible crush. Either way, he doesn't leave.
"Hey."
Venisa jumps as he sidles up beside her. She's tucked against a fighter that's not hers, mostly hidden from the other side of the hangar.
"Oh, Ezra, hi." She sounds flustered, like she knows she's been caught staring.
Ezra glances to where Luke is still oblivious to anything but his X-wing. He has his flight suit half off, the tank top underneath tight to his chest and leaving his arms bare. Even sweaty and streaked with grease, he looks handsome—maybe more so, if you like brave, dashing pilots. So, yeah, Ezra can understand the ogling. It's a nice view.
"You know Luke?" He asks casually.
Venisa nods. "He's led my squadron a few times. He's an amazing commander."
Ezra sees the admiration in her eyes. In another circumstance, he could flatter Luke all day—he admires Luke too, from his strength to his kindness to his sense of humor. But that's not exactly helpful now.
"You should see him during our training sessions—I kicked his ass yesterday," he says instead, maybe taking a little joy in the surprised look on Venisa's face.
"You did?" She gives him a skeptical look.
Ezra plays up his offense, trying his best not to grin. "I'll have you know I'm a big deal.”
Venisa rolls her eyes. (Which he appreciates, honestly—he prefers when the new kids stop being in undeserved awe of him.) "Well, I heard he fought Darth Vader," she persists, voice quiet as if Luke will hear them across the room.
"So?" Ezra feigns nonchalance, as if that name doesn’t make him shudder. "I fought him twice. It's basically a Jedi rite of passage."
Sure, he's leaving out the part where he almost died and only survived because of the much more experienced Force users saving him. But that's not really lying.
Venisa eyes him with consideration. "You really fought Vader?"
Ezra nods. "Wouldn't recommend it," he says, and he can almost feel the cold creeping in with the memory. "My point is, Luke's just a guy, like anyone else. There's no reason to idolize him."
"I don't idolize him." Venisa scowls, but Ezra can see she's flustered at being called out.
"A lot of people do," Ezra says kindly. "But—"
"But what? You're trying to protect me?" She asks, arms crossed and unamused.
Honestly, Ezra's not entirely sure. Venisa certainly doesn't need protecting—not from Luke, who would surely only let her down awkwardly and gently. Maybe it's the rejection he wants to save her from. Or the wasted time.
"I guess I'm trying to be a good friend," he says with a hint of a smile. "I know what it's like to have a crush on someone who doesn't look at you the same way."
Venisa hums. Her expression changes slightly, softened and vulnerable. "I know he'd never…" Her gaze flicks to Luke and a flush spreads on her cheeks. "But he's nice and hot and he flies better than anyone."
Ezra wraps an arm around her shoulder, pulling her into a side hug. He does his very best to not laugh at her dramatic sigh and reminds himself that not long ago he was seventeen, even if six years feels like eons.
"You'll find someone else. Someone more age appropriate." He laughs when she groans at him. "Hey, you call me ancient! He's as old as I am."
"I call you ancient because you start every story with when I was your age," Venisa mocks, a grin on her face.
Ezra grins back. "Well, when I was your age, I showed my elders more respect."
"Doubt it," Venisa laughs, pushing out from under his arm.

It's really interesting to think about how much of the Jedi culture is going to be changed or lost after Order 66. Because the Jedi have the ability to pass on their culture to a new group of Force sensitive people so long as there is even one survivor left to teach it, so they can keep themselves from completely dying out. BUT, the culture that gets passed on and created isn't going to look the same way it used to.
Kanan is so young when Order 66 happens that what he's able to pass on to Ezra is going to be incredibly limited by what his various teachers had been able to teach HIM. He didn't get the chance to learn everything he was supposed to learn, and it's been 15 years since then anyway, so what gets passed on to Ezra is entirely dependent on what Kanan even remembers of his very truncated education. Kanan also only ends up getting four years to teach Ezra what he needs to know when a basic apprenticeship seems to have been around 10 years long and that's AFTER over a decade of learning as an "initiate," so even if Kanan remembered everything he was ever taught and had gotten more training before Order 66, he may not have had enough time to pass on EVERYTHING he knew to Ezra.
And beyond those two limitations, there's things that the Prequels Jedi would've been taught and that would've been vital parts of their culture that just aren't relevant anymore. Things like their relationship to the Senate and how their missions work, living on Coruscant and in the Temple, or communal teaching methods, are all things that Jedi after Order 66 have no reason to know about or learn because it's just not applicable anymore.
And there's things that would get ADDED to Jedi culture that didn't used to be there, like how to survive without the support of other Jedi, how to live in a galaxy that has been taught to mistrust people like you, and when to keep your identity a secret for your own safety vs when to reveal your secret for other people's safety.
Also, due to the very separated nature of Jedi apprenticeships post-Order 66, it's entirely possible that you get very different variations on being a Jedi depending on who you learned to be a Jedi FROM. Ezra would've learned different things from Kanan than Kata will learn from Cal and than Luke would've learned from Obi-Wan and Yoda. Being a Jedi meant slightly different things to each of them and looked very different to each of them. Cal got taught by two separate masters, one pre-Order 66 and one post-Order 66, so his training is slightly more complete than someone like Kanan who had to fend completely for himself after Depa died and struggles more with taking on a Padawan than Cal likely will. And of course both of them will differ greatly from teachers like Obi-Wan and Yoda who are focused pretty strongly on getting Luke ready as quickly as possible for having to face people like Anakin and Palpatine given his personal relationships to them both and how that affects him. Obi-Wan and Yoda are also going to approach teaching much differently given their relative experience with having done it before and having both been Masters in their own right before the Jedi were destroyed.
We don't know if any of these people ever end up meeting each other and combining their respective knowledge and experiences, but if they don't, then it's entirely possible for there to end up being several different "branches" of Jedi down the line spawning from the few survivors who were able to train new apprentices that could carry on what they were able to absorb of the Jedi culture. The Jedi who are part of Cal and Kata's line of Jedi might look quite different to Luke's school of Jedi. And that would be SUCH an interesting thing to see, that the Jedi sort-of lose that communal aspect and so there end up being multiple variations on the Jedi who all stretch back to those few Prequels Jedi survivors desperately passing on what they could of a dying culture, each one passing on something slightly different than the other even though the core of selflessness, compassion, and service remains the same across all of them.

Okay first off: I LOVE THE INSECURE CHUBBY DARLING
but I did kinda wanted smut 🙈
omg, not my own internalized(at myself, like am i using that right? like i don’t hate other chubby cuties, but at myself i am despicable) fatphobia coming out, i’m so stupid lol (an i was in a severe need to be comforted mood lol)
also lol i cut it off right when i got to what you wanted 😭😭😭 i’m sorry anny!!
An ILY TY FOR COMING BACK 😘🥹✨
!!!MINORS DNI!!!
CW: GN! CHUBBY READER, NSFW, established relationship Ezra, holy smokes this is hot af i hope y’all enjoy too, cause i did. um… rough sex, idk whatelse lol sorry ily name calling! (slut)
Ezra roughly throws your beautifully soft body onto the bed, “Get naked. NOW.”
You swallow, and nod vigorously while unbuttoning your top. Trying desperately to hurry, you fumble.
“Not fast enough, slut,” He jumps you, roughly spreading your legs and putting his body in the way so you can’t close them.
He rips your arms away from your chest, and swats them if you try and bring them back. He rips your shirt the rest of the way off.
The fabric burns you as he tugs it off. “Owch!” you hiss, before his lips crash into yours.
You gasp for air and he takes advantage to stuff in his tongue.
You’re intoxicating eachother.
He grabs at all your pillowy spots, and moans into your mouth.
His pre is forming a wet patch on his jeans.
He leans back onto his shins and lifts your lower half. He positions you so that a leg is on either side of him and your bottom is perfectly over his wet dick.
He undoes his zipper, and rips off whatever you had on blocking his access to your hole.
He starts a brutal pace. youre laying down at first but your back hurts so bad at this angle. you beg him and he takes mercy, picking you up into an upright position on his lap.
Your body jiggles as he forces his dick as deep into you as he possibly can. The ground shakes with the force of his thrusts.
He fucks you like he hates you while he lovingly admires the way you moan and fall over him.
Who knows how many times you’ve came already. You’re so sensitive at this point it’s not just the ground quaking.
Ezra doesn’t fucking relent until he’s shooting his load deep into you and bullying his cock into you until he’s soft.
He hisses as he forces you back down and pulls out slowly, his cum following.
He slaps your thigh with his dick, you jiggle and it starts to harden again. Thin webs of white connect you both between hard slaps.
“F-Fuck, such a good slut.”

Fandom Friday, 08/09: Fanfiction
Tumblr media
Hello again, everyone...and welcome to another installment of Fandom Friday, the two-post series where I go off to find new and interesting fanworks that might need a bit more visibility.
Before we go into the list...I just want to repeat that I'm updating my tag list, so that I can continue to reach those who are interested and possibly strike everyone who isn't from the roster. So, if this still describes you, just drop a rockstar emoji (👩‍🎤) into the comments or reblogs, and I'll keep on tagging you. If not...just don't like, reblog, or respond to anything, and I'll be sure to scratch you off.
And so, without further delay, here are my fanfiction picks of the week.

In conclusion, as part of my mission to poke around the Star Wars fandom and, on Friday every week, highlight those writers who might otherwise go unnoticed…I hope you will check out the links I have included for yourselves and like, comment on, and reblog them, as well as also giving the writers a few more followers to their Tumblr pages.
Please also like and reblog this latest installment so that these links can be spread around to as many other fans as possible, just in case not all of them can tune in at the same time.
An additional thank you goes to @djarrex for making the divider I used earlier in this post, but still want to give credit for.
And finally, so that I do not forget…thank you to my friends, thank you to this fandom, good morning, and good luck.

Prelims, Vote 5 of 8
The top 4 finales will move on to be included in the main bracket
Propaganda is under the cut, may include spoilers
CSI: NY - 9.17 Today is Life
CSI was always copaganda and admittedly NY got cancelled midseason but jesus fucking christ. Weird semi-bottle episode of cops trapped inside their station because people are protesting the shooting of a Black man as the others desperately scrabble to prove he was armed as if that automatically makes it okay. No closure for any characters other than making previously sympathetic characters look like racist dicks.
Faking it - 3.10 Up in Flames
This series finale was so underwhelming that I didn't even realize it was the finale and not just another episode. Yes, the show was cancelled early but it didn't even read as a season finale...
Imposters - 2.10 See You Soon‚ Macaroon
Ok listen so no I wasn’t expecting much from this show like I knew what I was getting into. But oh my GOD the way you could FEEL how rushed this finale was. Early cancellation‚ I believe there was meant to be one more season. (Also personally did not enjoy it bc I did not find myself compelled by Ezra’s storylines this season but he is the main character so the last scene of the entire show was something I thought was SO stupid). Also broke up the found family. Unsurprising but I’m dying out here and they couldn’t have thrown me one line? The actual structure of the majority of the episode was pretty tight‚ like if it were a normal episode it would be fine. But then they had to go and try to wrap everything up before it was meant to be wrapped up and nothing has ever been less satisfying
Jane the Virgin - 4.17 Chapter Eighty-One
context: back in season 3 the protagonist jane was married to michael. he died in a heartbreaking and brilliantly done episode, and then the series jumped forwards 3 years in time. michael, his relationship with jane and his death was always treated with respect, even as jane slowly began to fall for her old flame and friend rafael. in the season 4 finale, it seemed like rafael was going to propose to jane, which was lovely. but then the very annoying drawn out villain told rafael ""something"" that made him withdraw and lash out at jane for reasons she and the audience didn't understand. they still had sex which was disturbing considering his anger and drunkenness, and then at the end of the episode it was revealed that the information he found out was that michael was alive. he'd been alive this whole time. the last moments of the episode are jane and michael seeing each other again. this made NO SENSE considering he died in a public place from an aortic dissection (a sudden blood pressure spike from a pre-existing injury) and they had a casket at his funeral - but apparently the villain has been keeping him alive all this time!! for some reason!!! this finale not only ruined the main romantic relationship between jane and rafael for pointless drama, it also spat upon the memory and fans of michael, and michael and jane's romantic relationship. not even to mention the ridiculous drama that another fan favourite petra was put through this episode. the entire thing was full of cheap shock value moments and cliffhangers to try and get audiences to watch for the final season.
My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! - 2.12 My Graduation Ceremony Happened...
incest
True Blood - 7.10 Thank You
so much wrong (really) with this show (which i love) but that final fucking image just does me in! sookie, our protagonist, who's been battered back and forth between stubborn heroine and hapless waif for 7 seasons seems spends her final (on-screen) moments sitting at her table surrounded by loved ones - which would be heartwarming if tara (abused for 6 seasons and then fridged, thanks alan ball) wasn't missing, a woman wasn't sitting next to the groomer she married (they meet near the beginning of the show when she is 17 and he is almost 30, they start dating immediately), and sookie were sitting at the head of her own fucking table. it's nice that sookie gets what she wants - she's tough but pretty milquetoast (don't get mad at me! i love our twee fairy vixen!), and she really has wanted to just be cozy and settle down this whole time. it makes sense to close on her enjoying a semi-mortal evening with the people she has left. but to leave on her tropily pregnant (even if it's in character - if it were just the pregnancy it wouldn't irk me so) and centre her nameless, faceless husband in the final frames of 7 seasons that have been (for better and way worse) about nothing but sookie? despicable! it's the series finale i've hated the most, but in some ways it's almost perfect because it totally exemplifies the political identity crisis true blood has for 7 years. edge vs. wholesomeness, agency vs. damselhood, change vs. status quo. it's such a disappointing result of the struggle that not only sookie (a character so many fans hate for her simultaneous stubbornness, ditz, and naivete - and who i love btw!) but the writers struggled for (sorry) 7 seasons. it's like witnessing your dear, baby faced, precocious & clever kid relative exit an intense emo phase only to become corporate law student. it's the cold fear that can only be induced by a white teenager with a briefcase. it's the slump end to a potentially fruitful struggle. in this sense it feels inevitable...but does it HAVE to be?...at least bill died.
The Who Was? Show - 1.13 Julius Caesar & Bruce Lee
the show got cancelled before season 2 released EVEN THOUGH it was certainly meant to have a season 2 so i will never see my silly blorbos ever again, nor will we be able to see who ate those grapes. It has been 5 years and I am still not over it :'(

I’ve heard and read some interesting theories on whether Sabine will be revealed as force sensitive in the Ahsoka show or not. They could go a lot of different ways with this but here’s what I’m hoping for:
Sabine is NOT force-sensitive in the Jedi sense, but she trained with Ahsoka to become more in tune with the force inside her.
The reason I don’t want Sabine to be force-sensitive is that it just doesn’t make sense. Surely Kanan, Ezra, or Ahsoka would have sensed her power during Rebels. At least during her dark saber training if not earlier. Also, Sabine is a great character and a capable warrior without the force. Tacking force powers on now seems unnecessary and doesn’t follow from her pre-established rebels storyline.
That being said, I still think it would be cool if Ahsoka was training Sabine in the ways of the Force— just not as a force user in the typical sense. Canonically the Force is found within all living things— as Obi-Wan says, it surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the galaxy together. The Force is not unique to the Jedi, it’s part of the very fabric of the universe.
Certain beings are more sensitive to the Force than others (hence the term force-sensitive) and these beings can, with training, learn to manipulate it and feel it more directly. On the molecular level, every creature has a few midichlorians, but only those with high enough counts can become force-users like Jedi. Higher midichlorians counts correlate with more sensitivity to the force. For example Anakin and members of Yoda’s species have high counts and lots of force power, whereas average citizens have near-zero counts and no force powers.
What we haven’t seen much of on screen is characters without strong force-sensitivity who get themselves in tune with the force.
With focus and training, I think a person could meditate, learn to feel the Force, and even connect with a kyber crystal, without the capacity for force jumps and Jedi mind tricks. It would be sort of like following the Jedi religion without having the superpowers. Like a passive instead of active relationship with the force.
And I think this might be the kind of relationship with the force Ahsoka was (is??) training Sabine to achieve.
If any non-force-sensitive would have the motivation and ability to become more aware of the force within her, it would be Sabine. She was incredibly close with Kanan and Ezra, and due to repeatedly seeing them and the inquisitors in action, she has no reason to doubt the existence or the power of the force. All the force-related shenanigans experienced by her family on the ghost probably made her curious about the Force and led her to deeply appreciate it.
So, I’m picturing that after Kanan’s death and Ezra’s disappearance, Sabine decides she wants to connect herself with this mysterious “Force”. Maybe as a part of her grieving process, maybe as a way of honoring their memory, maybe as a solution to finding Ezra…maybe a combination of all three. Whatever the case, she begins her force journey, and Ahsoka agrees to train her.
…and then something apparently goes wrong, but I guess we’ll find that out in the show!

possible pre-established relationships to make interactions easier:
- your muse is a regular at sanguine rose, either because of gambling or simply hanging out at the bar, or maybe they only show up to hear fleur's singing. this counts for the nightclub too. maybe they love dancing, partying and getting drunk at the club, or perhaps they're more interested in pursuing illegal drug dealings or getting involved with his syndicate there.
- your muse is a crime boss or part of a crime syndicate, a mercenary, assassin, loan shark, rich person, information broker, thief, hacker, any muse holding a powerful position, supernatural being, corrupt politician / cop / etc. as long as it benefits cain, they can work together as business partners or allies, your muse can even join his own syndicate or work at the casino / nightclub.
- if your muse often visits libraries or cafes then chances are very high they'll cross paths with cain. also since he hates enclosed spaces and avoids car rides whenever possible, your muse can occasionally bump into him taking walks outside.
- he loves flowers and plants in general, so your muse can find him in parks and or in the woods. another thing he loves is music so he's definitely inside a music shop checking out instruments or he's browsing LPs at a record shop. other things he enjoys include playing chess and stargazing.
- he was born in 1717 which means he's over three centuries old now, if your muse is immortal or reincarnates it's totally possible that they could have met cain, either when he was still a human, a spawn, or shortly after he became a true vampire. whether or not he still remembers your muse and vice versa can be discussed.
- if your muse is a monster hunter chances are very high that they tried to behead cain at least once but somehow his charme strategic thinking saved his skin on several occasions. they can be enemies which tolerate one another or make a deal and become business partners, since cain would gladly get rid of other vampires that pose a threat to his little empire.
- he pretty much tolerates anyone who seems useful to him, even if it's just for entertainment like sharing a cup of tea or coffee. sometimes it's not just about the power and feeling in control but also the emotional stimulation happening during casual socializing, aka your muse befriends him after sharing a nice conversation.
- your muse can literally visit his mansion uninvited, break in, or befriend his human servants to gain access. there's also a secret entrance through the basement only ezra knows about, so they could be connected to the necromancer and thus have something pre-established with cain. there's also the option of attending one of the many parties being held at cain's mansion.
- your muse took a pleasant walk at night only to be attacked by cain, he hypnotizes them before drinking their blood but it seems like your muse still remembers the incident and now it's their choice to keep it a secret or to use the knowledge to blackmail him (good luck). maybe your muse wasn't a victim but instead witnessed cain feeding on someone.

how about all Alison x liars ships (including Mona) for the meme <3. If you don’t want to do all then I’m actually most curious for your thoughts on Emison and Spalison and ik you’ll want to talk about Arison so by all means
Thank you for asking! I'll definitely answer all of them lol! I will start with Alison though.
Alison:
Alison/Aria:
Whether I ship it or not: Yes of course, I frequently go insane about them, as you know! They're almost always in my top 5 if not top 3 ships ever.
Why I ship it or not: I just think they have a fascinating dynamic! Aria being the liar Ali has the least contentious relationship with and also the one she clearly admires and views as an equal is never not interesting to me. I also think Aria understands Ali in a really unique way, like through stories and myth-making, which is Ali's bread and butter.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I will go to my grave maintaining that canon Alison had/has feelings for Aria and while it's all subtextual I do think there's a ton of evidence for that interpretation. It gets a little harder to argue Aria returns her romantic feelings but I don't view it as impossible - Aria's preoccupation with villains - especially her not wanting her villain to lose before she even knows about Ezra - definitely suggests a little ambiguity in her taste.
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): There isn't really a ton of fanon on them, which is a shame. If anything I wish more people shipped them, they have so much potential. My favorite headcanon is that Alison and Aria were hooking up pre-canon.
Alison/Emily:
Whether I ship it or not: Yes but definitely not as intensely as most people do.
Why I ship it or not: Mean girls and the girls who love them are just always going to be interesting to me.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Obviously they are an endgame ship that gets divorced so that answers that. I will say I'm not crazy about how they became canon - it seems very clear to me that the show runners were not thrilled with them as endgame so I think they're written rather cruelly.
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I don't really like the "Alison is only bisexual for Emily" headcanon that I see often. It's just kind of boring to me.
Alison/Hanna:
Whether I ship it or not: Oh definitely!
Why I ship it or not: The doppelganger vibes alone are *chef's kiss* I will never not ship doppelcest, but also Hanna being the "nicer" version of Alison is a vibe unto itself. "It used to be easier to tell us apart" LOSING IT
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I maintain that all pll female characters are a little queer but I'm also willing to admit I'm a tad biased. I do think Ashley and Sasha hav good chemistry though!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): Another ship I don't see a ton of people shipping, unfortunately! Ship Alison DiLaurentis with more women!!!!
Alison/Spencer:
Whether I ship it or not: Another one where I definitely ship it but I think more people are into it than I am.
Why I ship it or not: "You deserve a decent sister, Spence," Ali says, and then she proceeds to be the worst sister this side of Charlotte Drake. What's not to ship?
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): This is one that I don't necessarily want in canon, I just wanna watch them interact forever. Oh also "Practice is always better than the real thing"!?!??! AND THE SLOW DANCE, that's gay, girls!!!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I will admit I am not as into rivalry ships as some people, which is probably why they don't hit quite as hard for me.
Alison/Mona:
Whether I ship it or not: Honestly I think the answer is yes for all of these ships, there's very little I don't ship amongst the female characters in pll.
Why I ship it or not: I mean, Mona tried to kill Alison, helped her fake her death and run away, and then she built a whole new Alison in the form of Hanna...how could I not I ask again!!!
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): On the Mona side I definitely think it's real. They are extremely married and dysfunctional in the perfectionists too! Maybe my favorite thing about the existence of that show is that it makes the argument for Alison having feelings for Mona too very well.
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): People don't talk shit enough about the fact that the best derogatory nickname Alison could come up with for Mona was Loser Mona - compared to Hermie and Pigskin it's downright affectionate and I think that's hilarious.
Aria:
Aria/Emily:
Whether I ship it or not: Oh most definitely, an incredibly underrated dynamic imo.
Why I ship it or not: Their interactions in the pilot are some of my favorite, it always feels like two girls mourning their first love which is a Vibe as a ship imo.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Unlikely in the sense of they were never actually gonna let all the girls be gay but all of the girls were gay and in love with each other so!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I do see that the general consensus is that they are underrated and I'm glad because they are! I like to headcanon that Aria had a girlfriend in Iceland and is very nonchalant about the whole thing, so much so that she forgets to come out to her friends and Emily gets mad when she finally finds out that this whole time she thought she was the only queer one lol.
Aria/Hanna:
Whether I ship it or not: Yes, definitely!
Why I ship it or not: I think they have great banter and it's so fun to watch, lol
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): It's the same every time, compulsive heterosexuality forces me to say no when the answer really should be yes!!!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I honestly don't see a lot about them which is a shame, they're very fun together! I wish more people vibed about the possibilities between Aria and Hanna re: Hanna being Alison's designated doppelganger!
Aria/Spencer:
I answered this one here!
Aria/Mona:
Whether I ship it or not: Oh my god, yes!
Why I ship it or not: I think Mona deserves to find out why Alison picked Aria, bc it's gay and Mona deserves to be gay with all girls, especially liars.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Once again compulsive heterosexuality is ruining the vibes!!! Let Mona Vanderwaal kiss girls!!!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I think we all agree that they are tiny menaces who should kiss, and that's good.
Emily:
Emily/Hanna:
Whether I ship it or not: The answer is a resounding yes.
Why I ship it or not: Hanna being offended that Emily isn't attracted to her is one of the gayer scenes in the show tbh. Also Hanna asking Emily what it was like to come out. God so many of their interactions are gay.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I think you can argue Hanna has a thing for Emily, even fighting against the compulsive heterosexuality. They have some of the heaviest subtextually queer moments too, like I said.
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I love that we all know Hanna wants to kiss Emily. They should've let her tbh.
Emily/Spencer:
Whether I ship it or not: Yes! One of my favorite dynamics in the show.
Why I ship it or not: They just give off extreme married couple energy. Also their fight when Spencer scares Alison off in season 4 is a shipper's dream tbh.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I think Spencer's (second) gayest interactions are with Emily! (gayest is Alison, ofc!) Compulsive heterosexuality is a blight on this show!!!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I guess I realized I've seen very little about them in fandom which is a shame, they're very gay and underrated.
Emily/Mona:
Whether I ship it or not: Oh absolutely!
Why I ship it or not: Emily is to Alison what Mona is to Hanna and that makes them ridiculously shippable in my opinion. Mona being the worst version of Emily, for better or for worse.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): I don't think they spend enough time on the parallels between them imo. But yeah canon won't let us have any fun.
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): Again, we are not focusing enough on their similarities and that is a CRIME.
Hanna:
Hanna/Spencer:
Whether I ship it or not: Oh unquestionably, might rival Spencer/Emily for my favorite Spencer ship.
Why I ship it or not: The fact that they're the only ones who stayed and are still friends in the pilot! And Hanna telling Spencer that not everything has to be about Melissa, which is a very "Hanna is the nice version of Alison" moment because it's something Alison has tried to convey before with her "You deserve a decent sister." moment but Alison is all teeth and claws about it, Hanna's version is so much more effective.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Again, compulsive heterosexuality is a blight, a scourge, a disease!!! Let women be gay together!!!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): People should be more insane about them, actually.
Hanna/Mona:
Whether I ship it or not: Oh hell yeah!!!! tbh they are right under Alison/Aria for me in this fandom.
Why I ship it or not: "Alison was gone, but you wanted her back, why?" "to think we were this close to our first kiss" I COULD GO ON!!!! Mona doing insane shit for Hanna is one of my favorite tropes on the show. ALSO SHE HIT HER WITH HER CAR??? I love them, okay! OH AND WHEN THEY WALKED DOWN THE HALLWAY HAND IN HAND POST MAKEOVER??? GAAAAAAY.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Babes they are canon, just because the show runners were too cowardly to make them endgame doesn't mean they're not in love.
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): I love that we all know this is The ship of all time, because it is.
Spencer:
Spencer/Mona:
Whether I ship it or not: Definitely!
Why I ship it or not: Mona trying to drive Spencer crazy to get her on the A-team is...visionary, insane, exactly like courting, no I won't be taking questions.
My opinion on their canon potential (chemistry, canon interactions, etc): Compulsive heterosexuality I am in your walls!!!! Let them kiss!!!! In Radley!!!!
My opinion on fanon interpretations/fandom around it (Favorite widespread hcs, pet-peeves, etc): Definitely think other people vibe with them more because of the rivalry aspect but I still think they're a fun ship!
Send me a ship!

top 5 pll storylines!
top 5 pll storylines
•4b Ezra as A + Spencer’s pill storyline and Spencer and Aria’s breakdowns Shadow Play included of course, and also including other things I loved in this time period like The Liars decoding Ali’s Diary and Emily processing her Alison feelings this is the period of the show where Emison is most interesting to me (so really everything from 4.14-4.21).
•Mona as A in the first two seasons and reveal in UnmAsked
•Spencer’s arc in 3b + Spona in that time period generally
•Emily’s coming out arc in s1 for all the things about the show which haven’t aged that well I do think it really holds up / is one of my favorite I’ve seen.
•Dollhouse and 6.01-6.02 processing of trauma especially for Aria and Hanna who I think get the most interesting beats of this (which I think ultimately makes sense because they’re characters who are more in tune with their emotions than Spencer and Emily are or at least that’s how I see it…)
honorable mentions to Hanna’s 5a plot pre Scream on Me I love the reflection work with her and Alison and her identity crisis, Spencer and Jason’s relationship developing, Melissa murdering for Spencer that was something I was spoiled for before I’d gotten there in the show but out of the retcons it’s one of the things I think does track with the arc of that dynamic, tbh I had a lot of fun with Aria on the A team in 7b it was my favorite part of that half season in general. Any Halloween episode plot if we’re talking about individual eps rather than sections of the show. That’s just off the top of my head so I definitely forgot something

Hello,
Sorry about this essay entering your inbox and this certainly isn’t me disagreeing with you, or any criticism, more of an addition.
I wanted to add another perspective to your thoughts on Crowley, his flaws and how S2 may change his and Aziraphale’s relationship.
They are very human flaws, and seemingly unique and important to him as a demon. As Aziraphale’s flaws are unique and important to him as an Angel.
From what we’ve heard of pre fall crowley, he didn’t give Aziraphale much thought on their first meeting. Also, it sounds as if Crowley was somebody important in Heaven. And from what we know of high ranking angels - they are callous, unforgiving, unfeeling and the boss everyone dislikes. This appears to be Heaven’s idea of a good Angel, given their responses to Aziraphale ‘the traitor.’
Crowley, to me, sounds he was doing his job, well in the eyes of head office. He was just another high ranking angel getting on with it. Not a nice/good person from a human perspective but, if anything, flawless from Heaven’s perspective.
That was until he started asking questions, hanging around with the wrong people and sauntered vaguely downwards. Then he and Aziraphale met again, with Crowley now the ‘lesser’ being. Good triumphs over evil, surely? And this Angel he has met shouldn’t give him the time of day, like Crowley didn’t to a ‘lesser’ angel (can you imagine, if he remembers, how guilty Crowley probably now feels about this.)
But Aziraphale listens to his prattling about the tree and the flaws in God’s plans, engages with him and then shelters him. This angel has feelings, he is different, he cares about others. He gave away his flaming sword and indulges in gross matter- moves that make him a flawed angel in the eyes of Heaven.
Endearingly, Aziraphale is a well intentioned bitch.
And with Crowley possibly doing good with the whole eat the apple business and later kindness, he is a flawed demon in Hell’s view. Hell’s requirements of a good employee are cruelty, wickedness and finding murder a fun activity on a wet Wednesday afternoon.
But, kindly, Crowley is a daft, soft cockblanket.
And it’s what I feel GO is about. Balance between good and evil, finding your own side and not always becoming what others intended you to become.
Each of them stand out from their original sides because of their complexity and flaws, which is why they fit and work so well together, and have been able to for 6000 years. Neither is perfect and neither is horrible, and any criticisms they can find in the other also exists in themselves. Seemingly the only two entities like this- with possible exceptions - so they know they need each other. They’re the only two that can truly empathise with one another.
I don’t necessarily excuse these flaws and mistakes (pre-fall classism, the bandstand, I’m the nice one, how can someone as clever as you be so stupid and so on) but they can be explained. And a relationship is about how you move through your mistakes and flaws together, not being free of them.
If this has made no sense I apologise. I do struggle with expressing my own views. 💛
hellooooo @ezra-fell!!!✨✨
gOSH yes this is an essay but fuck if im not gonna do my best to provide you with a response worthy of your message!!!!
i will just start by saying i don't think any one person's opinion or perspective is correct per se, i certainly don't think mine is flawless, but it is kind of what i feel could at least possibly be a theme in s2 or even s3 or just in general, and if it isn't cool, it will firmly remain a hc and im happy with that!!!
for anyone reading, i will just reiterate once again that im not here to cause argument or discourse, i literally just write unhinged ramblings about these characters (both of whom i love DEARLY and are v important to me for various reasons), and yeah my opinion is NOT correct by any stretch, but it's AN opinion✨💓
going into a cut because my answer will probably be just as lengthy!
totally agree with you on everything you've said about crowley. i do not for one sec think that his character as an angel is like an issue (other than being a bit of a knob but as you said, if he's an Archangel or lesser Archangel (ie like sandalphon), then yes this characterisation makes perfect sense and is awesome in terms of how his character changes when he becomes a demon)
i also completely agree on your point about it being about balance (literally just talked about this in another post im going meta-feral at the mo), i do think thats the main theme of the story. i guess what i was trying (and failing) to say is that aziraphale's view of crowley might possibly be an entirely human one.
let's get personal bc at this point bc i can't speak from everyone elses perspective - ive been aziraphale in this scenario (the scenario i put forward in my post from earlier). ive been in a long term relationship, and had a major incident happen about 18 months ago. that person is who i loved and cherished more than anyone in the world, but after a lot of therapy and a lot of communication, i realised that whilst i loved them and thought they were absolute perfection, flaws and all, i had placed them on a pedestal of who i thought they were and who i wanted them to be.
so obvs with aziraphale his faith is very literal (i have no religious faith), but my faith in my person was so unquestionable and unyielding, that i also ended up hurting myself (emotionally, no CWs here!!) to find out that the flaws that i had idolised and thought were perfect actually came around to bite me in the ass, and honestly? at the time, i didn't like what i found. i still loved that person, still found them attractive and lovely etc, but my faith in them was completely shattered, and i hadn't realised until that point that love and faith are completely different things. i had initially believed that in being with someone, the two were synonymous. they aren't.
now sorry to get so personal on main lmao, and i realise that this may well be a great deal of projection of myself into aziraphale (don't we all do that tho???) and i truly recognise that, but it just feels to me that this 'reckoning' that's coming -- whilst it might not be entirely what ive said (id be utterly flabbergasted if it was) -- might be something similar. i want the boys to be happy and together and unassailable as much as the next person, but somehow i feel like we'll need to wait for s3 for that dream to be completely realised, and for the boys to take each other as they are, not as they thought they saw them initially. i hope im wrong, we'll just have to see.
i hope that's an appropriate answer to your ask, but tldr i agree with everything you said, i just have limits as to how much i necessarily discuss in one post haha!!!✨💓💓

I wanted to look at why it feels so frustrating for Sabine to have been utilized the way she was in the Ahsoka show and why it doesn't work even though the general concept behind it isn't inherently a bad thing.
Basically, Sabine only exists on this show, primarily, to be Ahsoka's crutch. She is the character through whom Ahsoka learns to grow. Sabine KIND-OF has her own journey as a sort-of sidestory, but her main purpose is to be there as a vessel to prompt Ahsoka's own growth.
And this is not, inherently, a bad thing to have done. Using a pre-established character in this way is fairly normal. And I'm going to compare this to the way Leia was utilized in the Kenobi show because on paper, the circumstances here are pretty similar.
Both Leia and Sabine are main characters in their own right in their original media (Leia in the OT, and Sabine in Rebels). Both Leia and Sabine did not really ever have a relationship with the main character of this new show prior to the show coming out (Obi-Wan for Leia and Ahsoka for Sabine). Both Leia and Sabine are SIDE CHARACTERS in this new show in order to support the storyline of the main character.
The difference for me is that Leia was explicitly chosen for this supporting role BECAUSE SHE'S LEIA. Leia is not mutilated and frankenstein'd into being basically unrecognizable in order to be someone who could help Obi-Wan on the journey he goes through in the Kenobi show. She is still pretty recognizable as Leia. She has the same stubbornness, the same snappy insults, the same passion and almost bossy personality. The Kenobi show and Deborah Chow have made it fairly clear that they chose the characters they did very carefully so as to provide a framework for Obi-Wan to grow through while never letting those other characters OVERSHADOW Obi-Wan just because they are also beloved characters in their own right. They very nearly didn't bring in Anakin for exactly that reason and clearly worked very hard to ensure that his presence on the show never pulls focus away from Obi-Wan entirely. Leia was also chosen specifically because they felt like it would make sense for Leia to be in this position. They chose Leia because what else could get Obi-Wan off of Tatooine in this state of mind but her? They chose Leia because who else might be able to break through Obi-Wan's depression and show him the hope for the future but her?
And while they had never had a canon relationship prior to this show, there IS just enough there to make it believable. We have a lot of obvious reasons for why Obi-Wan would care about her deeply and connect to her within a very short period of time. And we have plenty of reason for why Bail would only ever ask Obi-Wan for help in this particular situation. So the set-up for the plot and the relationship DOES EXIST within what we already know about the characters involved even if the relationship itself was new. We're also seeing that relationship develop ON SCREEN rather than being told that it existed elsewhere. The only relationships that are important here that happen off-screen are Obi-Wan and Anakin, and Obi-Wan and Bail, both of which exist within the Prequel trilogy that you can pretty safely assume most other people have seen. Everything else is developed on screen for the audience, which means nothing has to be explained at the audience through exposition.
Now let's look at Sabine. Oh Sabine. Poor darling Sabine.
Sabine was pretty clearly NOT chosen for this storyline at all. While we don't know the exact details of how this went down behind the scenes, we do know that there was AT LEAST two separate shows at one point (maybe three) that ended up getting compressed into just one: a Rebels sequel presumably involving Ahsoka and Sabine searching for Ezra, and an Ahsoka show looking at her journey of coming to terms with Anakin's betrayal. We don't know precisely how those two shows ended up combined into one; maybe the studio execs decided an animated Rebels sequel wouldn't do well and Filoni combined it with the Ahsoka show in order to preserve it in the only way he could, or maybe the studio execs came up with the combination idea on their own. We may never know. But I feel like it's pretty obvious that the original concept for the Ahsoka show likely included a Padawan storyline through which Ahsoka could come face to face with her fears and doubts about Anakin. This Padawan was probably going to be an original character who shared many of Ahsoka and Anakin's more negative traits (arrogance, brattiness, stubbornness, maybe even anger and fear from some kind of prior trauma) that would force Ahsoka to come to terms with what happened to Anakin in order to accept her Padawan.
And then the two shows got combined and Ahsoka's journey has to happen simultaneously with the search for Ezra. Except. Ahsoka's feelings about Anakin have exactly shit all to do with Ezra, or Thrawn, or the search for either of them. They could've just tossed in the original Padawan character to sort-of tag along while Sabine stayed more focused on finding Ezra, but this probably would've had the result of Sabine feeling pretty sidelined. So instead, they just... slotted Sabine into the Padawan role and nixed the original character.
Which means that Sabine lost pretty much ALL of the characteristics we knew about her from Rebels in order to fit into this new role. Instead of the merciful, compassionate, mature young adult she was by the end of Rebels, we get this overconfident bratty personality that feels more fit for a teenager than the 30 year old that Sabine actually is at this point in the timeline. Instead of being someone who connects very deeply to being a Mandalorian, suddenly she wants to be a Jedi and it's never actually explained why that is. An entire trauma was created to exist off-screen just to explain why Sabine is acting so radically out of character and even THAT isn't actually believable with how far she had come by the end of Rebels. Sabine was NOT chosen for this role because of characteristics she already had, she simply was the most convenient choice when her storyline ended up fused with Ahsoka's and as a result she is almost completely unrecognizable as a character. This isn't Sabine. It's an abomination and a piss poor shadow of the character most of us remember from Rebels.
And her relationship with Ahsoka is developed OFF screen rather than ON screen. Instead of showing us how these two ended up getting together and how they got closer to each other and learned to trust each other, etc, it just all happens years before our story starts. There's an entire history between these two characters that absolutely NOBODY is familiar with because it comes out of absolutely nowhere. And so instead of being able to WATCH these two characters come together as a team, we have to keep getting TOLD about it in either throw away lines or infodumps. Huyang keeps talking about how they work better together, Hera says they used to be good for each other, and their whole history is laid out by Baylan and Huyang separately (and the stories don't even match). There's no gradual development of trust, the two characters just careen between trusting each other and not trusting each other because of this history that is barely ever explained to us and then is apparently (almost literally) magically fixed by the end.
This is a bad way to handle this relationship even if Sabine had been a completely original character. I've seen stories where the relationship has developed off-screen and it's still, generally, worked. I mean, just for a Star Wars example most people are familiar with, let's look at Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in TPM. Qui-Gon is entirely original here, nobody knows who he is, but Obi-Wan is a well-known character to the audience. It's set up fairly quickly that the two of them have been Master and Padawan for a while probably and then within the first several sequences we get an idea of what their relationship is like. We see the deference that Obi-Wan does have for Qui-Gon but we also see Obi-Wan capable of teasing Qui-Gon while in the middle of a life or death situation. We see how well Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon pick up on each other's queues and how they can team up towards a common goal. So while we haven't gotten to see their relationship develop from beginning to end, we get enough scenes of them together right off the top to give the audience a sense of what this relationship IS so that by the time you hit the Council scene, Qui-Gon's quick decision and Obi-Wan's shock at it are entirely understandable. But then so too is Obi-Wan's willingness to apologize afterwards and his grief at Qui-Gon's death.
So it's not impossible to set up a relationship where the history between the characters and the initial development of it happened off-screen. But the way the Ahsoka show handled it gives us really none of that. We don't get a lot of chances to SEE what this relationship actually is and what we do see often is wildly contradictory (for example we see Ahsoka not trusting Sabine and then an episode later we see Ahsoka trust Sabine with her life). The development that does exist in this relationship over the course of the show has to be done with the characters completely separated and they come back together and everything is just hunky dory somehow. So even without the aspect of Sabine being a pre-established character in her own right, the writing of this relationship makes no sense and doesn't allow anybody to actually invest in it or understand it.
But Sabine IS a pre-established character and a major character of a show of her own that has fans who already love her. So now this relationship not only needs to just be generally well-written and coherent, it SHOULD still feel like a believable relationship for the Sabine that fans remember and love. Those of us who knew Sabine remember that she and Ahsoka don't HAVE a relationship to pull from. Sabine cannot just be treated like an original character who doesn't have any history that fans already know about. This relationship with Ahsoka DOES need an explanation in order to make any sense and the easiest way to do that is to actually SHOW IT DEVELOPING rather than having it happen off-screen. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon's version of this is able to skirt most of the actual details and just imply their history while showing us their current dynamic. Ahsoka and Sabine can't get away with that because everyone watching this who has even a passing familiarity with both characters is going to be wondering what the fuck this history even is and how ti led to this particular dynamic. Which is why we ended up with a bunch of infodumps trying to explain it to us rather than something more meaningful that allows the audience to actually connect to it.
And on top of that, this was a storyline that Rebels set up to be SABINE'S STORY. Ezra's disappeared so this was supposed to be Sabine's time to shine, her moment to be the center of attention. Which means it's not satisfying to see her end up as a support for someone else instead. It's not satisfying to see her character have to be warped and mutilated in order to support someone else. This was supposed to be Sabine's story as much as it was supposed to be Ahsoka's, but Sabine ended up getting the shorter end of the stick in the merger.

4, 9, 11, 19, 21, 28 for the birthday girl el and for gray please >:)
TYSM RENA <33
El:
4. how crafty/resourceful are they?
She is very crafty and that's a big part of why she survives in the wasteland. On top of Akira teaching her survival skills in case of something a situation like the bombs dropping, she's quick to figure out what she needs to do and is good at making do with very little.
9. favorite food? least favorite? are they a picky eater? do they have any dietary restrictions?
She lovesssss empanadillas! Her mom made them a few time while she was growing up and El was hooked after. One of the few things she knows how to make herself fjskld
11. what do they have in common with you? how are they different? would you get along with them?
Hmm. I don't think I actually have too much in common with El anymore? I'm not really sure though fjdsklfj. But she's wayyyy more ambitious and hard-working than I am and much more outgoing. I don't think she'd dislike me but she might find me a bit boring </3. I'd like her though.
19. are they quick to anger? what sets them off?
El's always been temperamental but she's mellowed out a bit with age over the years. But she's still easily irritated by the little inconveniences of life and all the new bullshit brought into her life via the wasteland which I would say is justified. But she's not nearly as explosive as she used to be.
21. their favorite place to be?
Pre-bomb drop, it was her tattoo shop! It's where she spent a lot of her free time even if she wasn't really working. It was just comforting to her to hang out in a place that she pretty much made from the ground up. In the wasteland though, it's goodneighbor and the north church. Both are relatively safe, not diamond city level fortified but enough to help her relax a bit. Plus, she met her favorite people there (mac, deacon, and hancock).
28. how do they show that they care about someone? how do they express that they don't like someone?
I said in another post that El's main love languages are physical touch and quality time but I'd replace touch with gift giving now, I think. She just likes to provide! But it's also something she just kinda picked up from her parents so she has mixed feelings about it sometimes. So she'll buy things that made her think of you and pay for outings/dates, etc etc. She'll also try to split her free time a little more evenly and spend some more time with you.
Gray:
4. how crafty/resourceful are they?
Very! Miko and Blake made sure to pass that down to them so they could survive on their own. They know a lot of people and also know how to make do with very little.
9. favorite food? least favorite? are they a picky eater? do they have any dietary restrictions?
Favorite is breakfast pizza :/ they're just like me fr. Idk if I'd say they have a least favorite though since they'll eat just about anything that's edible so definitely not picky or restrictive either.
11. what do they have in common with you? how are they different? would you get along with them?
They started out as a self insert but have very much strayed from that jfklds. We still have some things in common though which is the Ezra OC blueprint of autism and bisexuality <3. We also both pretend to be laid-back and care-free while in fact not being that way. As for differences, they are much braver than I am and overall I could not imagine living their life idk how they do it 😭. I do think we would get along though! I'd love to be their friend
19. are they quick to anger? what sets them off?
Uhhhh it depends? They're way more patient with people they care about than they are strangers, whom they're far more likely to get angry with and actually act on it. But trying to get them to talk about something they don't want to talk about (ex. their past or their real feelings on something) can often be an easy way to irritate them regardless of your relationship. That's something they need to approach first more often than not.
21. their favorite place to be?
Nature! It was really only place they felt they belonged for a long time since it's what their powers rely on and there's not often many humans to deal with. Not they dislike them on principle since they're half human themself, they just never felt quite like a person until they met the dmc crew. But nowadays it's more of a comfort thing since it's so familiar.
28. how do they show that they care about someone? how do they express that they don't like someone?
Depending on the point in time, they really just went out of their way to make people think they didn't like them regardless of how Gray actually felt. This was in an effort to protect all parties involved since getting they'd already lost so many people </3. They were cold and uninviting, often mean if they felt they had to be which always broke their heart but it worked except for on one person. That also ended poorly.
Anywayyyy. Nowadays, they're trying to be more open with their affections whether that be platonic, romantic, etc etc. They're not very good with words or actions for that matter but they're trying FJDSL. They're still trying to understand that standing next to someone and telling them random botany facts unprompted is in fact not enough for a lot of people FJDKSLF. It's endearing though.

Book Review #100 of 2023--
Tumblr media
Hockey Girl Loves Drama Boy by Faith Erin Hicks. Rating: 5 stars.
Read on August 6th.
Before I get into the bulk of my review, I want to say a quick thank you to both NetGalley and the publishers over at First Second for giving me access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review. In this graphic novel, we follow Alix who is a superstar on her high school's hockey team and Ezra who is well loved in the high school's drama team. One day after a game, Alix gets into a physical fight with her team captain and turns to calm, cool, collected Ezra for advice on dealing with her temper. As they begin to spend time together, they learn from each other and lean on one another for support which leads to feelings. Hockey Girl Loves Drama Boy comes out on October 3rd and is available for pre-order now.
I gave out a five star last month and now I'm giving out another one? Who am I? Well, I'm a girl who loves hockey and a girl who loves some contemporary graphic novels. One of my favorite graphic novels of all time is also from First Second and is about hockey. None of this should surprise anyone. I loved the communication style between the different characters which sounds like a weird compliment, but sometimes in stories the characters don't act or sound like teenagers. In this one, we see teens doing the teenage thing: withholding their feelings until they can't take it anymore and blowing up, feeling upset at one person and taking it out on another person, feeling hurt and lashing out at the person doing the hurting. The characters still managed to later communicate effectively with others and deal with the things they said or they way they acted in the end. I just like that we had teenagers acting like teenagers. I also loved the hockey stuff. I am who I am. It didn't dive too deeply into the hockey scene but I got enough to make me happy. Especially at the end when we got to see some hockey newbs watch hockey for the first time. The relationship between Alix and Ezra was sweet and tentative but their relationship wasn't a make or break on this comic for me. There were a couple of panels I wanted to screenshot because they were so adorable.
I didn't 100% love the art style. I get migraines so reading a mostly black, white, and blue comic on an electronic device wasn't great for me. I ended up pulling out my old blue light glasses to try to stave off a headache. That's not really the fault of the author, the publisher, or anyone really. Just a fact of trying to read the comic. It wouldn't be a problem at all if I had read it physically.
Overall, this was so cute, so sweet, and just enough hockey to keep me happy. This isn't the first thing I've read with Faith Erin Hicks's name attached and it definitely won't be the last.

headcanons for ezra (prospect)
a/n so far i have the most to say about ezra, my beloved bastard man :") rating teen. word count 1283 words. warnings some mild body horror in relation to his arm amputation. about a line right towards the end marked with ***
benny miller | din djarin | ezra | frankie morales | javier peña | santiago garcia | jack daniels
Ezra is a light sleeper no matter what position he’s in or where he is; it comes from the very nature of his job to always be ready
Wherever he’s sleeping he'll always know where the thrower or a knife is, and though he doesn’t particularly like to make a show of having one on hand it’s highly likely it’s there because he’s surreptitiously placed it within reach
Although that isn’t to say that he’s a particularly restless sleeper, at least not pre-Green. Despite it all Ezra is actually a really easy going guy and not the type to suddenly jerk awake at the slightest noise or lay awake all night worrying
He’s slow to settle in for sleep and just as slow to get up, lazily waking as if he has all the time in the world before easily navigating his morning routine (and somehow still running ahead of you)
With a partner - even of the non-romantic type - he’ll always sleep between them and the door where possible. Call it his old fashioned chivalry or perhaps long running distrust and survival instincts, but he just feels more comfortable this way
He also knows how to have a partner well and once the trust is there he never questions if they want to stay up late on watch, sleeping well for it. Actually that’s some of the few times he does sleep well on a job
Ezra has always made fitting into the small cots on dropship, tents, pods etc all look effortless despite his broad frame. It’s part of his nature to both be and appear carefree. He’ll sleep sprawled out on his back, perhaps with a leg propped up against the wall and at times falling asleep with a now forgotten book held to his chest after drifting off
Alone Ezra doesn’t much sleep on his side and he’d be a kevva forsaken fool to sleep on his front, even if it was what he found most comfortable (which it isn’t).
But with a partner? Ezra will either shamelessly wrap himself around you - in equal parts desiring and protective - lie pressed right up against your back, or sleep on your chest. True, space is luxury not offered to those in your line of work and learning to fit two people into a single cot takes forgoing any and all personal space, but it’s evident that even with all the space you could want Ezra would not stray far from you. He luxuriates in the physical contact and couldn’t deny himself, or you, any of it for even a moment
Ezra’s the type of man to practically purr with the physical contact, humming to himself into content. That is if he’s not talking into your soft skin, mumbling over the words because he’s so close there’s no space to form them properly or because he’s dotting kisses here and there
However, he won’t cling in hot weather or whenever you find yourself not wanting to be engulfed by him - Ezra has no insecurities that need feeding and is comfortable to give you whatever space you require at night to sleep well. It’s just not always an option with work
But! give an inch and he takes a mile, Ezra is a glutton. Unashamed of any of his desires Ezra will hold you to him or practically demand (non-verbally, this man is already settling himself down on your chest) to be held as and when his emotions and needs take him and he has often strongly suggested you do the same. He finds simplicity in this kind of honesty
(Oh he’s respectful always, but he communicates just as well physically as he does verbally and what can be said in actions he’ll choose to do unless he thinks the greater clarity is needed)
Ezra gives these affections as often and as easily as he takes them - in fact he thinks that's what makes a relationship fair and equal. If what you want is to be held to his chest, read to, as you drift off, he’ll give it. Or if you need him to lay across you like a weighted, heated blanket you hardly need to ask it of him
Ezra also takes well to being the little spoon, especially after the Green, and finds great comfort in it. Although he takes pride in a lot of things he’s not necessarily a “proud” man and can not only accept your help in this but actively seeks it out at times, either because the day has made him worry for you or because his demons are catching up with him
If he feels safe in whatever situation/environment he’s in Ezra prefers to sleep with as few layers as possible - enviro suits are nasty things and clothes get so worn and dirty on jobs it’s freeing to be without - and will comfortably go nude often. Otherwise he’s a boxers only kind of guy
Unfortunately it’s not normally a luxury one can have on the job so he’ll takes great advantage of the times he’s not working
Ezra likes naps a lot. It’s true that they’re damn useful in his line of work but beyond practicality it’s also a) partially because he always likes to take advantage of any opportunity of peace he finds and b) partially because the carefree attitude it displays is often part of his armour
Like a feral cat the man is, Ezra will always settle himself down in any beam of sunlight given the chance, propping himself up against a tree or shifting his cot in the pod to lay in the light. He works hard, does a job damned well and takes rest he wants.
He was much freer with his attitude about this sort of thing before the Green, content at all times to settle himself in for a short nap if the opportunity presented itself.
But even after and with all the trauma it left him with, Ezra still stubbornly clings to his ritual, determined to not let his fear steal away from him the good he has right now and continuing to play the carefree man as an armour. In those situations he never actually sleeps - rarely even dozes - but the mask is there
Ezra sleeps better and heavier off the job, always has and always will. But it takes a long time for him to be able to sleep restfully after the Green
*** He sometimes gets caught in nightmares and phantom feelings like his arm is still there, hanging on by the sinews or, horribly worse, slowly rotting away on him. It’s nights like these that as soon as he’s woken he’s seeking your embrace. Most times he’s settling himself against your chest so he can listen to your strong heartbeat, beating a cadence out for him if he chooses to talk or merely being a reassuring rhythm if he doesn’t
But some nights he’s so lost in his head he doesn’t even want that, instead drawing in on himself. The worse times are when Ezra gets non-responsive, even with your arms around him. These times you’ll need to wait him out but holding him helps massively and there’s no way he’d fall back asleep half as easily without you being there
Post-Green also means having to deal with his amputation and the many ways it affects him. Now most nights find him asleep on his side next to you, just so he can keep an arm around you. That touch is even more important now, anchoring him safely to you and calming his mind, slowing the continuous stream of consciousness to more of a soft burble than a rush

tibby thoughts on pll, the liars plus allison
listen. the show itself is NOT good. it has never been good. even when i was 14 watching it and had a head full of gossip girl and glee brainrot, i knew pll was a bad show. you could say it aged terribly - which it has - but it was also kind of out of date at the time. it's messy, it makes no sense, it has terrible morals even for a teen drama...and yet. AND YET. i find myself returning to the first three seasons every year. i will never watch past that and i never have, all my information from post-s3 is by what i've read...and yet, once again, here i am. about to start s2. i don't even like this show but goddamn they put something in it that keeps me returning again and again. it's a curse.
anyway. let's talk about the girls:
spencer hastings: the LOVE of my LIFE. troian really was too talented for this show and you can see it in virtually every spencer scene, she's just so good no matter how dumb the plot is. spencer is by far the most complex and layered of the liars, even if they very rarely handled her problems well. she's smart and brave and funny and kind of insane but she is my dearly beloved and she is probably the reason i keep coming back. fucked that the show never addressed the amount of adults who preyed on her outside of blaming spencer for it to create conflict with melissa, but also pll is just, infamously bad when it comes to this shit. also i don't CARE, s1-s3 spoby are GOD TIER hets. he was her safe place to land!!!
hanna marin: i feel like sometimes they dumbed hanna down too much or focused on her being comedy relief even when it wasn't appropriate but ashley benson's strength is comedic acting so i guess i can't really blame them. regardless, love love LOVE hanna, easily my second favourite liar after spencer. they handled her ed relatively well for pll standards, but i do think the show relied too heavily on fatphobia, even away from alison. also hanna and mona's relationship is hands down the most interesting one in the show...like, i'm a mona apologist, so maybe i'm biased, but the kind of Intense Friendship they had for a year and how much mona's betrayal fucked with hanna but also how she knew mona could be better and constantly tried to prove it to the others...makes me insane. vandermarin 4 ever. haleb is cute too.
aria montgomery: as a strong believer in the #AriaIsA theory i am constantly disappointed they never embraced the full extent of insane aria because she was always at her most fun there. which might be my lucy hale in fantasy island stan card talking but it's TRUE. let more women be unhinged!!! also fuck ezra fuck ezria fuck marlene king for trying to make that shit romantic when aria should have murdered that fucking predator.
emily fields: just....boring. i wish i could like her because i know she was an important lesbian character for the time but god. she's just so dull. shay mitchell's lack of acting skills do not help. i liked emaya, i guess? mainly i just am so disinterested in emily sorry.
alison dilaurentis: THEY SHOULD HAVE KEPT HER A VILLAIN!!! like okay yes i didn't watch past s3 but everything i saw of ali after they decided to redeem her was SO boring and they made her so dull, i guess because it was the only way they could justify emison or whatever. ali was not just a mean girl in flashbacks she was manipulative and controlling and derived joy from hurting others. she blinded jenna and made toby take the fall even after finding out that he was a victim of SA at jenna's hands. she was so horrible to mona that mona quite literally lost her mind. harassed lucas and paige endlessly. and that's not even touching on how she treated the other girls...like the entire thing pre ali being revealed as alive is the four liars realising how awful she was for them and trying to move on from that, especially with the fact ali was "dead" and they'd never get closure weighing them down. like ali was TERRIBLE but that's what made her FUN and INTERESTING and sasha killed it despite being so young so WHY!!!! WHY!!!! TRY AND MAKE HER OUT TO BE A GOOD PERSON AND CHANGE EVERYTHING THAT WAS INTERESTING ABOUT HER!!! MARLENE KING YOU SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED TO WRITE AGAIN!!!!

Hi Tori! What about HCs about the boys finding out that you've taken to drawing them in your sketch book, or even like in the margins of random notebooks, or even on napkins? Obviously you are like #embarrassed because you maybe werent ready for them to know BUT OOPS too late they know now (could be pre-relationship or during whatever floats your boat my friend)
OOOOOOOOH GOOD QUESTION!!!!! Under the cut bc this got long sdkfjghsdf
With Din I sort of imagine not only do you draw him, usually from whatever perspective you see him from (like from the co-pilot’s seat or at his work bench or what have you), but you also draw just. Pieces of his armor? And he finds this pretty impressive when he does in fact find your drawings dkjgh BUT, as for the first time he sees you sketching him. This man is silent when he moves, and that is frustrating sometimes. Especially when he comes up behind you while you’re sketching out the profile of his helmet. He stays quiet, just content to watch you. You’re so in the zone on this, he doesn’t want to break you out of it. He watches for a while, before he places his hand on your shoulder. You about jump out of your skin, thankfully avoiding making any errant marks on your sketch.
“You got my good side,” he teases.
You are blushing furiously and trying very hard not to give in to the urge to cover your face with your hands. “I--you weren’t--” you stammer, snapping your sketchbook shut.
“Cyare, what’s wrong?” he asks, so earnestly it soothes some of your embarrassment. “You’re very talented.”
“I--Thank you, it’s just... I didn’t... I-I wasn’t sure how you would react so I, uh, wasn’t planning on showing you yet,” you explain.
Din tilts his head; it’s the specific one he does when he’s genuinely confused. “How did you think I would react?” he asks. “I’m... honored, really.”
You sputter some response; being honored seems like... too much, right? But he takes a few steps in front of you and takes your hands in his. “Cyare. I love it. I love you. Thank you.”
You take a deep breath and nod. “You’re welcome. I... have some more, if you want to see?”
“I’d like that.”

Ezra, by nature, looks for things. Whether he is looking for something specific or not depends on the time and place, but he is always looking. That being said, he does sometimes look through your things. He doesn’t do it maliciously, sometimes you wonder if he even knows he’s doing it, but you know if you need to keep something from him, you need to hide it REALLY well. Typically among those things is your sketchbook, but of course, you manage to leave it out one night. Much to your dismay, you wake up and stumble out of your room to find Ezra looking through your personal sketchbook with delight.
“Little bird, I knew you had artistic talent, but I had no idea I was among your muses,” he says, smiling at you. He was aware of your artistic talent thanks to the sketches of things you harvest you make while you two prospect. You are immediately much more awake than you were a moment ago, realizing what was going on.
“Ezra, where did you get that? You weren’t supposed to see it,” you say, rushing over to him to take the book back. He holds it out of your reach.
“Now, now, hang on just a second,” he says. “I meant no offense, the book was sitting out on the table when I came in this morning. You know me and books I’ve never seen before.” You’d give him that, at least.
“I... I’m sorry,” you offer, your shoulders slumping. What were you sorry for? Drawing him? Him seeing it?
“What are you apologizing for?” he asks, furrowing his brow. “These are incredible sketches. I’m flattered you find so much inspiration in an old worn out prospector such as myself.”
It’s your turn to furrow your brow. “You are not old or worn out,” you insist. “I... find you... very intriguing.”
A smile returns to Ezra’s face. It’s more than just intriguing, and you both know that. “Well, I find you intriguing as well. Perhaps a bit more than a mere coworker should.”
You can’t fight off the blush that comes to your cheeks. “Me too.”
-
Javi is at home, looking through some files. You are at your home, frantically looking for a sketch you were sure you put in one of the files you brought home with you. It was of Javier, and if he sees it, you’re never gonna live it down. Of course, it’s right in one of the files you handed to him, and he finds it. He’s flattered, and impressed; he had no idea you were such a good artist, and now he knows why he’s caught you looking at him fairly frequently sometimes, always to quickly look away. Not like he hasn’t done his fair share of looking, himself.
You’d given up on looking for it and resigned yourself to the fact you would wither away thanks to shame due to the teasing you were sure you would get. As if on cue, there’s a knock at your door, and you’re sure it’s Javi. Sure enough, when you open the door, there he is.
He shifts a bit awkwardly and clears his throat, then hands you the piece of paper with the sketch on it. “I figure you didn’t mean to give that to me,” he says. “It’s, um, really good, though.”
“Oh,” you say, blindsided by the politeness happening here. “Um. If you like it, I mean, you can keep it. If you want.” You offer the paper back to him.
He takes it. “Y’know, I always wondered why I’d catch you staring at me sometimes,” he says, chuckling quietly. “I imagine you have more. Maybe you could show them to me? Over drinks?”
This is definitely not where you were expecting this to go at all. Of course you’ve had a massive crush on this man since day one. And here he was, asking you out on a date.
“Absolutely! U-um... just, y’know, don’t tell Steve. About the sketches, I mean,” you say. He’d really give you a hard time.
“No worries. He’d be jealous I’m getting all the attention, anyway.”
-
Jack, much like Ezra, is good at finding things, but he has the added advantage of being terrifyingly observant. He’s pieced together you’re sketching him at this point; for one, you’re drawing something, and for two, you keep looking at him then looking away the second he makes eye contact. You also, paradoxically to him, haven’t been responding the way he’d hoped to his flirting with you. So, one day, after a meeting where you were doing that looking away thing again, he went to your office.
“You do realize that if you want a subject to sketch, all you gotta do is ask, right?” he asks. He’s leaned up against the door frame, smirking at you with that self confidence he just exudes.
Your eyes widen for a split moment before you look back down at what you were doing. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Whiskey.”
He hums in a way that expresses he knows that was a lie. He steps into your office and takes a seat across from you. “That’s interesting, because...” he starts, taking something out of his jacket pocket, “this does seem to be my likeness.”
You look up to see him holding one of your sketches. You stand and lean over your desk, reaching for the paper. “Jack! Give that back, you weren’t supposed to--”
“Hey, hey now, sweetheart,” he said, cutting you off and holding the page out of your reach. “You’ve got a gift. I’d be more’n happy to pose for ya, but only,” he hands the sketch back to you, “if you go on a date with me.”
You look at him in pure confusion. Some of Jack’s behaviors start to make more sense to you, suddenly. “Have... you been flirting with me?” Jack just looks at you with a smile and raises his eyebrows. “Oh. Yeah. Yeah, that sounds good.”
-
“Hey, could I see those notes you took during the meeting today?” Max asks, that stupid goddamn smile on his face.
Oh no. Ooooh no. You have a sketch of him in the margins of those notes. No way is he seeing that. He can’t know you like... like him. “Oh, uh, I can type them up and send them to you in an email,” you offer.
He studies you for a moment before nodding. “Sounds good. Thanks,” he says.
You part ways, him to his office and you to your desk. But, of course, the downside to working with a vampire is that, much like Din, he’s quiet as all hell. So, he sneaks up behind you, getting a good look at that sketch of his face.
“I had no idea you were such a talented artist,” he says, lowly, right in your ear.
You jump, and slam your notebook closed. “Max!”
“Hey, no harm done, I think it’s great,” he says, reaching around you without moving from behind you, and moving your hand from the top of your notebook to open it back to that page. “Not that I need the ego boost.” There’s a certain self-awareness to his tone that you didn’t expect.
You laugh a little. “Well... thanks.”
“So,” he says, his face getting closer to your ear and, therefore, your neck. “Looking for a nude model?”
