Tempted to ship Maggie and Negan simply because it’s dark and Problematic, and the new order of fandom is far to puritanical for my tastes. In the old days, we shipped enemies all the time. It wasn’t fraught with moral signaling and some 22yo yelling at you on the internet and calling you a Bad Person. It was a fantasy, and we had fun. >:)

Introverted self-care for the win...

I WAS going to craft a pretty post on LinkedIn today to announce my PhD work, along with some great transitions in my professional position....

But then I got on there....and got overwhelmed by the spectrum of WAY extroverted, must-report-on-everything personalities there....

So now, I'm going to masturbate instead!🎉🎉🎉

I can try to be cool on LinkedIn next week. Or next month. Or next year. 🤭🤣

On the plus side, I've found a great new use for my never-ending doctoral textbooks! 🤓🤣

James sighed, looking up at the stars.

“I wasn’t going to tell you this, I still shouldn’t, but I was looking up stories about the stars, to find one that could be me and you.”

Regulus raised an eyebrow, but kept his eyes on the stars just as James was.

“Oh? This should be good.”

James nodded towards the sky. “I settled on Andromeda and Perseus.”

Regulus laughed dryly.

“Andromeda is my cousin, we can’t be her.”

But James didn’t let it go. “I disagree, it’s too perfect. Andromeda’s parents were King Cepheus and Queen Cassiopeia and they thought they had the perfect daughter. They boasted that she was the most beautiful, and Poseidon, he’s the sea God, you know, he sent a great sea monster to destroy their kingdom. The King and Queen chained Andromeda to a rock as a sacrifice to the monster. Then Perseus, who was a demigod, found her and rescued her and killed the monster. He had to fight for her honor and the right to love her and save her. But he was successful and they fell in love and got married.”

Regulus sighed, knowing his part in this.

“Let me guess, I’m the one sacrificed by my parents and chained to a rock, and you get to be the hero.”

James' voice came out in a whisper when he replied. 

“Let me help you escape them, Reg,” he said, almost pleading.

Regulus grimaced. James would just never understand how complicated it was. His parents would never let him go now that Sirius was already gone. Sirius had only been allowed to leave because they still had a spare, but there was no one after Regulus.

“I don’t need you to save me.”

James sighed. 

“I know, I just wish things could be different for you. I know it’s hard, even if you don’t want to admit it.”

Really leaning into the “Get Regulus Out” theme here, but yeah, next chapter is up!
