Out of all the sibling stories I know of in any fictional media, Itachi and Sasuke will forever be the one that hurts the most.

Maybe it’s because Itachi is my favourite character, that I’m heavily biased—who knows?

It’s just so damn unfair. Just a little boy at the age of 4 already forced to be grown up.

He spent his whole life sacrificing himself for everyone else, a martyr who only wanted peace and for his little brother to be safe and alive.

Uchiha Itachi, the man who should’ve been the Hokage. The one who deserved the world, but instead hated, hunted down and used.

3 am and today's topic for sobbing is - itachi (i want to catch a fucking break)

the small boy at 4 years who was traumatized by war - saw people die, people kill, people suffer - a sight that is not meant for anyone.

a prodigy who was only ever viewed as a tool to be wielded by all but maybe one or two people (sasuke and shisui).

a child who was manipulated - whose will for peace for moulded into a sword and he was made to slaughter his own brethren.

all but one - his brother. the one person who did not view him as a pawn, as a tool to be used in the politics of konoha - someone who genuinely loved and cared for him with everything.

i can never stop thinking about the good ver / turn of events where it is just sasuke bragging to everyone about his brother and being fucking obnoxious in the academy. being the happy and carefree child who is always so protected and spoilt by his brother.

a version of itachi who is actually protected by adults instead of being used by them all. a child who is allowed to be a child for fucking once.

all the itachi haters of - "he should not have done all that shit and traumatizing bs for sasuke. he ruined sasuke!"

you think a literal child. who was being manipulated to the gods, used, abused, literally gaslit and groomed - traumatized from not only war but all the expectations and other shit he must have witnessed in the anbu - WITH ZERO SUPPORT SYSTEMS - to make a healthy decision in midst of a fucking mini genocide he did????

yall are crazy for that one.

i miss him. i wish he was loved, cared and protected for. justice for all the children in naruto because what the fuck.
