Finished watching The Artful Dodger and, honestly?

I need a season 2. Pronto.

#this show is such a weird mix #its a period piece #a medical drama #criminal heist #historical romance #in a modern Dickens style tv show #based on character from Oliver Twist #set in Australia #and it all freaking works #ok Belle was a tiny bit annoying at first #and there's one character twist that I hate #(seriously that was so not needed)#but over all its a great show #really hope for a season 2 #the artful dodger #tv shows #things i like

i had this in mind a few days ago while running on 2 hrs of sleep

decided to finally draw it lol

i have some more ideas in mind of them that i will hopefully get to get around drawing

#one piece #trafalgar law #monkey d. luffy #eustass kid #so the idea is like maybe they got to know each other as children cus they somehow lived in the same neighbourhood/got sent to the same #daycare right and the first day they met it seemed they already got like beef with each other #but its ok its their version of bonding :)#they definitely shit on eafch other with no hesitation #they still have their own respective groups (crews) but they just hang sometimes for no reason #like they get put in the same place at the same time. whoever is with them will be the unfortunate victim.#they still care for one another ofc just in their own roundabout way #i do still have some things i need to think about like do i still want to make law a sick boy #i mean i know i made him p pale in that drawing #cause im a sucker for whump ok #but then again waht am i making him sick with. is it gonna be chronic. is it just an unfortunate one time thing.#also if i make him to still be a sick boy theres gonna be a period in which luffys gonna be taller than him by the time theyre around #10-13 y.o. and then law just shot up like a beanstalk from 15-16. luffys gonna grieve. but its ok luffy you can be taller than him at 40 #maybe #also the damn designs #law do you already have a beard by the time youre 16. it was not mentioned in the novel. i am conflicted.#also kids hair is fucking wild i almost cried drawing it #he doesnt wear lipstick in school. he does when hes hanging outside tho #luffys the most straightforward one i mean come on look at him #laws the one giving me headache cus fucker is canonically a 26 y.o man with facial hair #fanart #my art

day 99

i have NEARLY finished the skirt for my ren faire fit i just gotta get a few finishing details added and also get the undershirt bleached (bc i got a bunch of makeup on it at last years fair and shit Stained) but THEN i can show yall the final fit!!

#day 99 #year 5 #aradia megido #homestuck #its gonna be cute #i was so fucking stressed abt this one because like.#i bought my fabric and i was like oh yeah dude this is toooootally more than enough for a circle skirt #went to finally cut things #realized i only had enough for a half-circle skirt and it would end up with a bunch of weirdly-shaped scrap at the end #(ie i would have to do a bunch of weird piecing to make the waistband and pockets and such)#and like honestly a half-circle skirt was NOT enough volume for me i need my skirts swooshy #so i was like well. okay. i think i can optimize my fabric usage more if i draft a paneled skirt #but this of course required..... Math.#and unfortunately. i was an art major. so. there was a lot of struggling #BUT I DID IT. THERE WAS STILL A LIIIIITTLE BIT OF PIECING THAT HAD TO BE DONE BUT IT IS MINIMAL AND CAMOUFLAGED PRETTY WELL #and also this is for a ren faire primarily bc i dont wear a lot of skirts in day-to-day #SO. economical fabric usage is absolutely period accurate. even though none of the rest of my outfit or techniques are.#basically all thats left for me to do is add pockets and the closure at the back #i meant to add the pockets as i was doing the main construction but i got too excited and forgor #so theres gonna be some seam ripping but nothing too bad

every day i think about how great of a character eloise bridgerton could've been. like she has her fantastic moments and i did love her and theo, but truly i think so much of her feminism falls flat, and it's a shame because she is so spirited and dedicated, but she's written in such like . a shallow ? way despite that if that makes sense

putting aside the filler arcs in the anime between alabasta and sky island, robin has only been with the straw hats for 2 or 3 days by the time they reach skypeia

the first day we see her slide right into the crew, knowing each member's personality well enough to not raise a big fuss over her being there while also proving how useful she is, something i'm sure she had to do over and over, pleasing and proving that she can be kept around so she can continue on surviving for her dream

after alabasta she was ready to die, tired of this life style, but luffy decided to go against her verbal wishes and save her anyway, and in return she decided to make herself his problem by thrusting herself into his crew ....only to find out that she actually likes being with them

the straw hats aren't like most pirates, they don't plot or seek out destruction, they just want to explore the new islands and seek adventure on the seas

robin tried to bring the straw hats into her own pace by slipping into the crew, but in the end she was the one who fell into their pace and in love with the crew, giving her a peace of mind she hasn't had in a long time and the freedom to be completely and freely, herself without having to prove her existence or usefulness

#one piece #sry these panels just really stuck out to me #i... cherish them #its the knowledge that she's only been with them for 2 days #and the bribery and trying to please them on day 1 #while also being very distant with them and argh #she was with them for such a tiny period by the time water 7 rolls around!! and she still loved them SO MUCH #that she would rather watch the world burn if it meant the straw hats could be safe
