I’d been neglecting this as a wip since March and only finished it recently😅 This quote is from It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, probably my favorite K-drama ever. What I liked most about this show was its interpretation of fairy tales and how they correlated with the plot of the show. I personally think it’s an even better crossover with fairy tales compared to the Once Upon a Time series🤭
Another quote from this show that I feel personally rn is “... He may have only done it just once, but I can’t ever forget that.” Even in a period of time filled with bad memories, there is a single good memory in your heart that you could never forget.

I finally caved and started watching #Koreandramas I made the mistake of starting Extraordinary Attorney Woo which is still in progress so I had to switch to something that already finished streaming. I’ve heard good things about #ItsOkayToNotBeOkay so I went for it despite knowing it would make me #cry and cry I did. But it was so good! I would’ve preferred a #romantic comedy movie or short series, but IOTNBO was so well done (I’m so tempted to do the I watch it for the plot meme with the locker room scene #IYKYK ) - the actors were great, the costume designer did an amazing job w/ the clothes (the Filipino cosplayer in me LOVED Mun-yeong’s shoes!), and the writing and pacing were first rate. There were definitely funny moments to provide some levity to what’s quite a dark story about childhood traumas and mental health issues couched in children’s fairytales. . . It should come as no surprise I now have a crush on #KimSooHyun He reminds me of someone because of his strong facial features and lips, though he’s not as tall or beefy. He’s such a good cryer too, and he really sold the caregiver/protector role. Speaking of good cryers, #SeoYeaji was so good at looking fierce and channeling Gong Li but when the moment came to show vulnerability, tears would just come down her face w/o much effort. She mastered the cry on command beautifully w/o scrunching your face assignment. The writer(s) and director(s) of the show did a great job making the characters relatable. I could see aspects of myself in #MoonGangTae #KoMunYeong AND #MoonSangTae The soundtrack is also absolute fire! How many times have you said "I'm fine" when asked how you're doing, even though you weren't really fine? It's become such a common automatic response that it's almost meaningless.
We say "I'm fine" for a few key reasons - to avoid burdening others with our problems, to maintain a sense of normalcy or control, or because we don't want to openly admit that we're struggling. It's a polite social nicety meant to end the conversation quickly.
But masking our true emotions with "I'm fine" isn't healthy or helpful long-term. It prevents us from getting actual support when we need it. Others can sense when something isn't really fine, even if we say the words.
The next time someone asks and you're not actually fine, consider opening up just a little. You don't need to dump all your problems on them, but acknowledging "I've been better" or "It's been a tough day" gives the other person space to offer an ear if you do want to talk.
Saying "I'm fine" when we're not can build up over time into feelings of loneliness, stress or depression. Being a little more honest about our emotional state, even if just in small ways, can help us feel less alone and more able to work through what's really bothering us.
