You almost never fight, but everyone has their breaking point… and tonight appeared to be both of yours. It wasn’t even anything big. Jake had to go to an important dinner meeting, and you felt left out. By the time he got home you were already in a mood, which only pissed him off. He was just trying to help, but you refused to tell him what was wrong.

“It’s not a big deal.” you lied through your teeth. It hurt your feelings when he didn’t invite you to dinner, when you knew for a fact that the other influencers had brought their partners. “Don’t worry about it” your words were laced with venom.

A look flashed across his face that was unreadable, but his words quickly filled in the context. “Oh… so that’s what we’re doing?” He was really starting to get mad now. It was too late to tell him that it really didn’t matter, and that you just want to forget about the whole ordeal. “You refuse to tell me why your mad, and you just get pissy when i ask… I’m done trying to have a rational fucking discussion with you”

You knew that he was right, but his words just made you more upset. “I shouldn’t have to fucking tell you why I’m mad Jake, maybe if you thought about anyone other than yourself you could figure it out!” At this point tears were streaming down your face, and you could see that they had started to form in his eyes as well. You didn’t mean for it to come out that harsh, but you also didn’t know how else to make him understand that he really hurt you.

“I can’t stand you when you act like this…” He turned to walk to your shared room as he said this. The pain in your heat grew tenfold hearing him say he couldn’t stand you. You knew he didn’t mean it, but that didn’t soften the blow. You immediately walked into y’all’s room and stated grabbing clothes from your drawer, quickly packing them into a tote bag. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” He looked confused.

“Since you ‘can’t stand me’ right now, i figured I’d get out of your hair… I’m going to a friends house.” You watched as he tried to think of something to say, before eventually deciding to let you go. You both needed some space and time to reset.

You quickly packed enough clothes for a week, before going down to your car. You wanted him to stop you, but you knew that he wouldn’t. As you started driving you realized that you didn’t know where you were going, you decided to find a lot to park in and call a friend.

“I’m in the hospital.” Your voice breaks a little at the end, you haven’t stopped crying since you woke up in the ambulance. Unfortunately for the EMS people you refuse to talk abut anything other than the fight.

“What do you mean!?” This broke you, you couldn’t handle the thought of Jake being mad at you anymore. “Y/N, where are you?”

You told him what hospital you were at, and that you were okay. Jake was there in less than five minutes, you didn’t question how he got there so quick. As soon as you saw him you started crying… again. You could see the look on his face change from worry to relief to shock within three seconds of finding you. You understood why… the nurse had let you look at yourself in a mirror, and it wasn’t good.

Once he registered that he had found you, he rushed to you. “What happened, are you okay?” He reached up to inspect the bruises and small cuts on your face. You flinched away. It hurt to move your face, and someone touching it right now wasn’t something you wanted to think of.

You had no idea how this all happened.

One minute you were peacefully watching Criminal Minds in your bed and next minute you were standing in front of gas station next to your apartment waiting for Jake’s friend to drop him off.

You still wondered how he got drunk, he was supposed to be filming a video that had nothing in common with an alcohol.

Finally, after standing there for ten minutes, in only your pajamas and sneakers, you saw familiar car pulling into the parking area next to where you were standing.

You quickly walked to the car while the driver, your and Jake’s good friend, got out of the car and opened back door where Jake, drunk and half asleep, was sitting next to Johnnie, also drunk, who was playing with his phone.

“Hi boys.” you turned their attention on you and you could see how Jake’s face lighted up when he saw you.

“My baby.” Jake babbled to himself still smiling widely at you “My future wife. I love you.”

As much as you wanted to smile and coo at that you stopped yourself and kept your stern face.

“How was recording. Were you by any chance making a ‘let’s see how drunk I can get without giving my girlfriend any signs I’m alive?’ video?” you asked raising your brow.

Jake was looking at you for a moment, thinking about something and then said “Sorry baby, we didn’t plan on getting drunk.” he was pouting and his voice was kind of slurred and you could see he was having problems with forming sentences.

“Yeah but we had to celebrate Jake finally getting his balls.” Johnnie added still doing something on his phone “I think I wasn’t supposed to say that.”

“What? What did Jake do?” you asked worried that he did some stupid shit and he will regret it in the morning.

“Nothing yet, don’t worry love.” Jake assured you and unbuckled his safety belt. As much as you wanted to question him more, you knew it was no use while he was drunk cause he would just be saying whatever came to his mind, so you gave up deciding you would remind him of it in the morning.

Jake slowly got out of the car with Johnnie carefully following him with his phone, so you just assumed he was making photos of your boyfriend.

When Jake was fully out he quickly walked to you and hugged you tightly, kissing your cheek.

“My love.” he murmured and turned you both so he was facing Johnnie “Do you see it bro? My pretty girl is here. My girl.” he had dreamy face and you smiled slightly at that.

“Yay!” Johnnie cheered silently.

“We should go on a date.” Jake declared.

“We will think about it.” you assured him and he kissed your forehead.

“Let’s go!”

“Like right now?” you asked amused and he nodded vigorously.

“Yeah, wherever you want to go.” he said and in this moment, he reminded you of a little puppy.

“Let’s just go home now and we will go on a date on saturday hm?” you offered.

“Alright.” he again nodded and your friend who drove Jake here looked at you.

“Help you with getting him to your house?” he asked.

You looked at him with small smile “I’ll be okay, thank you. What will you do with Johnnie?”

“I will just let him sleep on my couch.” he laughed quietly.

“Good luck with him.” you smiled at him.

“To you too.” he nodded to Jake who currently was trying to pick up imaginary flowers for you.

You took Jake’s hand and started walking toward your apartment building doors.

“You have to be quiet pretty boy, people are sleeping.” you reminded him to behave.

For the rest of the night Jake was extremely cuddly, like always after drinking. And you found it really adorable but at the same time you were mad at him for not giving you any signs that he’s still alive, just drunk. You were worried about him.

Next morning you woke up to your phone blowing up. You had many mentions on twitter and you were confused what happened for Jake’s fans to go crazy like that.

And then you saw Johnnie’s instagram story. It was posted at night and it was video of Jake sweet talking about you while still sitting in the car and then video of you and Jake when you were about to take him home from the gas station.

"Are you almost ready? Johnnie's getting a little impatient." Jake laughs and you can hear Johnnie in the background yelling but Jake raises his voice to cover it, "Well be there to get you in like ten minutes."

"Okay." You laugh, "I'm about ready."

"Okay. See you soon." Jake says and you agreed, "Yeah, bye." You smile as you hang up, getting ready to set your phone down, but you get a text that makes you stop.

It's from Jake, Remember, gotta keep your hands to yourself.

You smirk, setting down your brush to hold your phone with both hands, Aw, man. That's no fun. But since we're a secret, I guess I can manage.

You set your phone down, doing your finishing touches to your makeup, before you get another text from Jake, you're my favorite secret.

He leans in, "I don't smell anything."

"Hmm." You pull your arm back up, breaking off one of the bars, "Here." You hand one to Jake and he takes it, "Why thank you." He takes it and bites into it and Johnnie yells, "Thanks for waiting for us you jackass."

You laugh, looking between them and Jake puts the piece he bit off back on top of the bar, "Fine, I'll just magically reattach it."

You lean forward, "Yeah." You nod as you read the chats, "They fight like a married couple."

"Wait, I thought you only said that to me." Johnnie pouts, "You backstabbing bitch."

Jake laugh, hanging his down as he shakes it, "Johnnie, I can't take you anywhere in general."

"Fair. Fair." Johnnie nods and you try to eat the candy but it gets on your lip and down your chin, "Ope." You close your lip, pointing with your pinky so Jake can get you another napkin.

"Jesus Christ, y/n. You're messier than I am." Johnnie laughs and you roll your eyes. Jake wipes your chin and lip with his thumb and pops it into his mouth, without thinking of course.
