Favorite Thing About Them: Its very hard to let this guy down. He is always a fun and jolly optimist, ocasionally making self deprecating jokes that still are energetic and reveal a great deal of confidence rather than grimm cynicism or self hate. Dr. Teeth loves himself, the other people around him, and life, and he is always there to support his friends and remind them of their worth.

Least Favorite Thing About Them: The incosistency of his relationship to Classical Music: sometimes he will be alright with playing it in an electric instrument, other times he will act like its the most boring thing in the world.

Unpopular Opinion: Dr. Teeth feels more extablished as a band leader in The Muppet Movie than in The Muppet Show, where he worked more as the lancer for Floyd Pepper, who was the most vocal in making the band's demands be known to Kermit the Frog.

Ok, I can only really speak for my au, not other people's, but yes there are other kids in candle cove besides Janice, it's just that she's the only one there from our world.

I know on the wiki Nathan is mentioned as another kid member of the Laughingstock Crew who was Janice's neighbor in the real world, but because I think that's kind of distracting and takes away from Janice being the focus of the story (and creates a HUGE plot hole for my au's world building) in my version he's also a puppet like everyone else. He's also a little older than Janice in my version, about 13 (just to make sense out of why Calvary seems more chill with him being on the crew than Janice at first), and while he and Janice are pretty close friends and can come to each other as kids about stuff in a way they can't with the other adults I also cut the tid-bit about them having a crush on each other out cuz, again I made him older and it felt like another distracting thing.

There's also Auburn! I don't nearly talk about her as much as I should considering how much she rots my brain (again just referring to her in my own au not the wiki). In my version Thade and Lillian aren't her biological parents, but rather she was a stowaway on the Tarantula ship (for reasons I'll get into later) and was just sort of...adopted by the crew over time? Lillian did practically become her mom and while it's more difficult to discern what relationship she had with Thade, since I hesitate to call him a dad sometimes because they feel like a more terrorizing little sister and very tired older brother duo, they were all family none the less. This also means Auburn was there for Red Mary's attack on the crew though, and along with Thade and Percy, was the only survivor (though the other two aren't aware of this and presumed her to be dead since they were separated).

I can't really get into her too much since I also have a big sequel au where the good guys and bad guys team up to defeat Red Mary and Auburn is involved in a big way, but the basic gist is after the attack she was just on a hellbent path for revenge which ended up getting her involved in a bunch of magic stuff, as well as hurting others and herself. In the same au she does end up joining the team and by this time both her and Janice are a bit older, Janice 14 and Auburn 16, but they actually get along great. Much like how Janice has Thade parallels in her characterization and story arc, Auburn has a lot of parallels to Lillian in the same way, so the two of them have a similary dynamic personality wise. Janice honestly just thinks Auburn is super cool and learns much more about magic and abyssians through her, and Janice helps Auburn give herself a break and move past some of the survivors guilt from the attack on the crew and how she was never able to avenge her mother on her own. I think they may also bond over losing their moms at young ages and having to live without them.

I've always loved to imagine Janice, Nathan, and Auburn just being this super chaotic trio of rag tag kids doing pirate crimes and getting into trouble. Auburn is usually the one to start chaos, Nathan tries to stop her, and while Janice helps her with it she's also usually the one to get them all out of it. It's their thing :] They should have like....a "Traumatized pirate kids who have been through some shit" therapy group they all need it.

Also, even though in my version she never actually makes it to the cove itself, me and a few friends on discord have come up with this sort of spin off story focusing on Melrose and what's happening back in Ohio after Janice goes missing that has more of that og candle cove cursed tv show feel than the main candle cove story I have where the feel is more aligned with grimm fairytales.

It's basically Melrose, who's going through guilt hell after Janice goes missing, seeing her sister in candle cove on the TV one day, basically the actual candle cove show described in the og creepypasta. Because everyone else only sees static though, she feels like she's going crazy, until one day a kid from school tells her "I saw your sister on TV too." From there Mel and a few other kids who have also witnessed the show (all oc's I'll share later) form this little group aiming to figure out what the hell's going on and to hopefully get Janice back from where ever she went. It sort of has that 80's horror movie vibe with the group of kids banding together over weird shit happening to them and having to solve a mystery or face off against something evil before it's too late. It's fun, it'll be fun I'm definitely not going to drag them all through trauma.

edit: a brief warning, as of finishing this it’s about 1:46 am, so it might be. kinda stumbly

Dr. Church kept her office so cold.

Janice pulled the cardigan tighter over her shoulders and took a deep breath. It wasn’t that cold, she tried to convince herself. She was just sitting on a hospital bed, and those were always cold. No, no, she derailed that, thinking about cold hospital beds would make her sick. She was just nervous. Even though Dr. Church wasn’t going to hurt her.

Well, technically, in a sense, she was, but the end result would be okay. Janice would be better. Everything would be better.

Janice took another breath. The door opened, and Dr. Church stepped in.

As ever, she reminded Janice of her grandmother, all kind smiles and knowledgeable eyes and the presence that made her seem much younger than she was (they’d known each other, for a spell in high school, maybe they’d rubbed off on each other). She chuckled when she saw how tightly Janice had wrapped herself and pressed a few buttons on the wall panel. “It’ll get warmer in here in a bit,” Dr. Church assured her with a pat on the shoulder. “But for now, let’s talk about why you’re here.”

She sat down across from Janice on the rolling stool by the computer and started typing away, putting in password after password, trailing through Grimm’s archives to get to Janice’s file. Janice didn’t answer her request.

“You want to go through with the Stage One augmentation,” Dr. Church filled in for her. “Your reason’s not on file yet, dear. Any particular desires you had in mind?”

Janice chewed on the inside of her cheek. “I want to be helpful,” she admitted. “I know we’re supposed to have a diplomat and three hunters, but... I hate waiting for them to come back.”

Dr. Church nodded, smiling. “Interesting,” she hummed. “And you’re aware of the risks, of course.”

“Same as any surgery?”

“Not quite.” Dr. Church stood. “What we’re going to do, Ms. Darcy, is fundamentally change what your brain can do. But you know what we can’t change?”

It felt like a trick question. Janice didn’t answer.

“We can’t change what your brain can handle.” Dr. Church was closer, now, and put her hands on Janice’s temples. “You will have the power of a monster, Ms. Darcy, but a monster you are not.”

Janice couldn’t help but wrinkle her eyebrows and drew her shoulders closer. “What?”

“Monsters are much more capable creatures than we are, I’m sure you know that,” Dr. Church explained. “That’s why Reaper teams are made of four people, no? That capability extends to how they think, how they work. Their senses are much stronger than ours, but to them, it’s as easy as breathing.”

Dr. Church picked a few papers from her desk, flipping through them. “What we can do, Janice Darcy, is extend your senses beyond what humans should be capable of, and give you control over them previously thought unknowable. But you are human, Ms. Darcy. Do you know what that could do to you?”

Janice shook her head.

The papers Dr. Church showed her answered the question. Whoever the first subject had been, they were unrecognizable, almost as a human. Their face and upper body had been taken over by eyes, countless eyes, all crying a rainbow of tears. No nose, no mouth, and a small note reading “Suffocation” next to “cause of death.”

“The most dramatic case,” Dr. Church commented. “The only instance of physical mutation so far.”

The next few pages were, as Dr. Church suggested, less dramatic looking, but no less terrifying. One subject was photographed lying curled up on the floor, hands pressed over their eyes; the notes painted the rest of the picture: “collapsed, unresponsive, and stopped breathing.” The next was still alive, according to the notes, but there had been an error, a misfired failsafe, and they no longer had control over the fluctuations of their senses. The next had become reckless, too reckless, and thrown themselves into a battle they did not make it out of in one piece. Another had gone deaf in an explosion no one else could hear. On, on, a collection of all the ways this could go wrong.

“We’ve learned, of course,” Dr Church assured her, taking the papers away. “We have more fail-safes in place to prevent the worst of it.”

“But that doesn’t mean it’s perfect,” Janice said, mostly out of habit.

“I see you’ve learned!” Dr. Church joked. “Yes, it doesn’t mean its perfect. So, before we even conduct the pre-op check-up, I need you to promise me a few things.”

Scary words. Janice nodded anyway.

“There’s a low possibility that you’ll be able to extend parts of your abilities to other people for short times -- we’ve seen it before -- but I deeply suggest you don’t. It’s too risky, and a strain on both your mind and theirs. If you can go the rest of your life” (What, five years? Janice thought with a suppressed chuckle) “without trying it, you’ll be better off.”

Janice’s fingers were starting to hurt from holding the cardigan; the room was warming up, but she didn’t want to let go. She nodded to tell Dr. Church she was listening.

Dr. Church’s voice grew a bit softer as she moved on. “You’ll need to be careful about eating. I know you, Janice, and I know what you’ve been through, but this sort of augmentation means you’ll need to be eating more and more consistently than your current diet. If you don’t get enough calories, you’ll find yourself much worse off than any hunger pains you get now.

“And sleep. You’ll be able to get away with a consistent sleep schedule for now, but stretching yourself too thin could result in ‘overexertion naps,’ which we’ve seen can last for ten to twelve hours or more.”

“....Really?” Janice said, relaxing her arms. That part didn’t sound... too bad.

Janice shifted on her seat, moving backward. “What’s ‘too far?’“ she asked.

“Well, you'll know when you wake up on the ground after passing out, won’t you?” Dr. Church smiled like it was a joke. Janice didn’t find it very funny.

“Bottom line, of course: you’ll need to take care of yourself. No more slacking off and getting away with the bare minimum.” Dr. Church turned away, looked at a separate stack. “Take some tips from your teammates.”

“Evan and Victoria?”

“Yes! They’re in excellent health, all things considered.”

I think I already used up my miracle of science years ago, Janice thought. But she still nodded.

“And finally -- we’ll talk more on the day of the surgery, of course, but before you leave here today and make that final choice -- Janice Darcy, I need you to promise that you’ll trust us.”

Janice swallowed. “I do, Dr. Church,” she answered, almost on reflex.

“Do you?” Dr. Church asked. “Think about that one. I want to walk into that operating room and know you trust me, alright?”

“I will.” Janice could almost make herself believe it without any trouble.

“Then you’re free to go back to your duties, for now, Ms. Darcy,” Dr. Church said, sitting down and typing furiously. “We’ll see you in a few days for the pre-op check up and talk more then.”

Janice hopped down from the table and pretended her legs weren’t shaking. “I’ll see you then, Dr. Church.”

“Have a good day, Ms. Darcy.”

Janice Hartman stood proudly in the wardroom, with black, white-tipped antlers above her. Adam, in his mask, walked out. "The most disgusting thing I've ever seen."

"You are just jealous they are bigger than yours." Hartman replied, and Adam shook his head and violently stormed off.

Hartman elegantly turned towards Salem who spoke up, "Don't show off your vapid vainglory to me."

"Are all of your followers, this..." Hartman said, watching Adam storm off, "reliable?"

"He is a very good attack dog." Salem simply stated.

"Which is apparently all your want." Hartman replied.

"I'd watch your tone." Salem admonished her, "At least he's proven what he can do?"

"By doing what, exactly?" Hartman asked.

"Two Huntsmen academies?" Salem asked.

"That are still in use?" Hartman asked. "All you did was scare the civilians right into General Ironwood's warm embrace."

"You wanted them to be yours." Salem replied.

"If only his pet Huntsmen had not have gotten in my way." Hartman stated.

"I've been hearing that a lot, lately." Salem stated.

"Maybe it's true?" Hartman asked, and Salem just glared at her.

"He also left a pile of Grimm in his wake."

"My soldiers have killed more Grimm than he ever has." Hartman voiced.

"Yes, your armies?" Salem scornfully asked.

"They are surprisingly light." Hartman said, eyes looking up at her antlers, "But how do they work?"

"They are antlers." Salem stated, "Beasts use them to gore each other."

"I mean with controlling Grimm?" Hartman asked, and Salem turned away.

"Like I said, it's your life to throw away."

Hazel opened his eyes. Without moving his body or changing his breath, he looked around. He was in a metal room, of the white sheen popular among the Atlasian military. "Welcome back." Detective Specialist Thrace stated. "I'll give you a short summary. Gog beat you within an inch of your life. You've been kept in a chemical coma to allow your body to recover from so many broken bones. I am Detective Specialist Richard Thrace, and you are being held in the Prison Ring of Atlantis. It's a secret base between Solitas and The Dragon." Hazel sat up and simply stared at him. "You are being held here without bail pending trial." He paused as Hazel just glared at him, "Considering all the damage you've managed to do, and your ability to slip between kingdoms during lockdown, you were considered too much of a flight risk. You are free to appeal this decision if you feel like wasting a lot of time and energy. My job here is pretty simple: I can use whatever power I deem necessary to keep high risk individuals under control. So, don't hurt anyone else, unless it's in self defence, and I won't have to drop you into the ocean. See if you can swim all the way back to land. Other punishments include putting you in an Aura sucking machine, or just regular beatings to make sure you can't produce enough Aura to be a threat. You get my drift? The doctors can tell you what cell block you're being held in. Show up for counts, and don't start fights." he said with finality. "Also, there's some people you might know. I really don't care; that doesn't change the rules."

Hazel found his cell, and then just turned around, sizing up every single person he could see. The guards seemed more competent than usual, but not enough to challenge him. The other prisoners seemed to all have their stories. They were all extremely dangerous, at least by the standards of a mundane Human.

* * *

Hazel stepped out of his cellblock. The first things to catch his eyes were the guards up in the towers. A series of nearly floating towers with floating walkways between them. They flowed around the central hollow, connecting to the fantastically larger ring above them at a single place. Most were ordinary, mundane Humans, but moving around, here and there, some appeared to be Specialists.

His gaze then moved around the yards, scouting out all he could see. He made no visible sign of recognition as he saw the Four Figures of the Red Fang.

Hartman, stood proudly, black antlers high above her, staring the Beowulf down. She wasn't sure how, or even how she knew, but she could feel it's will, and it could feel hers. "You want to kill, and I will let you kill. No, you won't just attack those in front of you untl they are no more. You will fight, and flee, so you can fight again. You get to avoid the Huntsmen who will come to fight you, so you can kill even more." The two stared into each other's eyes as the Grimm made it's choice. It fell back down to all fours, lowering it's body even further. "One down, only 10,000 more to go."

The four hoverbikes rode up to the top of the hill and the four dismounted. Various stretching occured. Leverette moved over to look down he hill as Cinder pulled out a blanket.

Cinder passed out the food and drink to the other two as Leverette nervously strode about. She would pause, turn her head, and then quickly bound off in that new direction.

"What's bunched up in her panties?" Mercury asked.

"Probably sand." Emerald eagerly added, savoring the moment.

Leverette turned to look at them for a moment before quickly turning and quickly moving away.

"Leverette?" Cinder asked. Leverette looked back and held it for a moment before looking away. "We're part of a team."

Leverette turned to look at her for a moment. "You're a queen bitch and her minions."

"True." Cinder stated, "But I can't care about my minions?"

"I don't know." Leverette nervously stated, before looking and bounding away.

"It's like she doesn't trust us?" Emerald asked.

"I wonder why?" Mercury sarcastically asked.

"Trust can be hard to build." Cinder stated, "But we won't get there by lying. While we're not as fond of hugs as other groups, they do care about you."

Leverette slowly walked up, head held low. "I'm so sorry..." she nervously uttered.

"It's quite alight." Cinder voiced. "Will you tell us what's on your mind?" she asked, and pointed at the blanket."

Leverette lowered her head and breathed in deeply for a few moments. She then looked back up again. "I'm not an ordinary girl."

"That much is obvious." Cinder replied.

"I don't mean as a Huntress." Leverette stated.

"I know." Cinder said with a smile.

"What does that mean?" Emerald asked.

"Magic." Cinder said with a brilliant smile. Mercury and Leverette gave her incredibly shocked looks, while Emerald gave her one of absolute love.

"I honestly don't know why I'm still surprised by you?" Mercury asked, while Cinder beamed brighly.

"What do you know about the seasons?" Cinder asked Leverette.

Leverette stared off into space as she tried to take it all in.

"There's one thing we can tell you," Mercury said to her, "we've seen more than enough to know it's true."

"We know at least one more thing." Cinder stated, "Salem needs the Maidens to get the Relics."

"Which is why the three of you are in the Vacuan badlands?" Leverette asked.

"Lucky for you", Mercury said, and then looked at Cinder, "you have someone who's been through the fire to help you through it."

"Like an angelic Phoenix." Emerald said, love dripping from every word. Cinder turned to her, giving her a loving smile. The two were momentarily lost in each other's eyes.

"Are they always like this?" Leverette asked Mercury.

"They've gotten better." Mercury said with a smile, "Or worse, however you want to look at it. Emerald has been in love with Cinder since before they recruited me. Cinder has been..." he said, and breathed in deeply as he thought it over, "Blinded by her rage. It wasn't until she was free from Salem that she even thought she could live another way. It wasn't until Jaune healed her that she accepted it."

"Jaune?" Leverette asked.

"He is quite frankly, too good." Mercury said. At first he smiled, and then looked lost, and then sad. He breathed in deep as fear appeared on his face before returning to a neutral look. "At first..." he said, and breathed, "I can't believe I was that young, that stupid."

Cinder pulled Emerald by her hand away from the hill towards a stream. She sat down, and pulled Emerald down beside her, wrapping her arm around her. "For the first time, we are free." Cinder stated.

"Free?" Emerald asked.

"We didn't just escape, but ever since I was healed... I was healed..." She used her free hand to clutch her heart. "It just took me a while for it all to sink in."

"But..." Emerald tried to say, and Cinder kissed her passionately on the lips.

He found himself sitting down with Leverette looming over him. "Sorry." he said to her, and shook his head with uncertainty.

"After hearing everything about you three, I'm surprised."

Mercury rubbed moisture out of his eyes. He then breathed in deep. "You knew my father beat me, he thought it would make me stronger?" Leverette nodded. "He replaced my legs to make me stronger. Well, it worked. I killed him, and just when I was basking in my win, beating the worst thing in the world for me."

"And just when?.."

"She showed up. Cinder." Mercury stated, "She had come to recruit my father."

"A famous assassin?" Leverette asked.

"World reknowned." Mercury stated. "I did not know what I wanted to do, and the only thing I knew how to do was beat my father to death." Mercury then shrugged. He breathed in deep, again. He looked at Leverette and she looked him in the eyes, wanting him to continue. "I was angry, and all I knew how to be was abusive, violent, destructive. And that's exactly what Cinder hired me for. I never even throught about living a different life. Until we ended up with Salem, in her castle."

"What was that like?" Leverette asked.

"Perpetual twilight, surrounded by Grimm... no life around you at all. When Cinder was there, it was bearable, but when she was not..."

"What did you do?" Leverette asked.

"Make up with Em. Our only chance was to work together. We escaped, or at least thought we did. We went to Mistral to find her."

"And how did you do that?" Leverette asked.

"Robbing a bunch of drug dealers, and used the Lien to bribe beggars."

"How did that go over?"

"I had to kill a few of them for lying to me." Mercury distantly stated, "It quickly brought the others in line."

"Do you regret it?" Leverette asked.

"I honestly don't know." Mercury distantly added, "It had never occured to me to even think about it before. I do know that without their deaths, we would have spent the next few years looking for her in vain. She had somehow survived, and we were reunited."

"What was that like?"

"It was like getting everything I ever wanted." Mercury added. "I didn't need to be an assassin for hire to get money. I didn't have to kill if I didn't want to. Remember when I said we thought we escaped?"

"They came to get you?" Leverette asked, and Mercury nodded.

"We ended up back under Salem's thumb. The moment we could, Cinder got us away. First to Jaune..."

"And then here." Leverette stated.

"And now you know my sob story." Mercury voiced.

Leverette squatted down beside him, and warmly spoke to him, "It's not over yet."

"I don't even know if I want revenge." Mercury stated, "I just want to live, I want to be with my... my friends..."

"You sound like you've never said it before." Leverette stated.

"I've never meant it before." Mercury added.

I reported the other day that Sandy Monroe of 434 “MyStreet” , and others, had been killed by the African Lions that Safari brings and releases into the neighborhood. I was wrong about the identity of the people around that fire pit that evening, or, there is a replacement Sandy that has already been put in place at the Monroe's. Most likely, I was wrong about the identity of the people around the fire pit that were attacked by the Lions. I am usually wrong about the identity of the people who attack me and then are killed. I am not wrong, mistaken, or confused about the facts that happen. People are killed here at my home nearly everyday in defense. There are so many terrorists though, I am only one man. I don't know very many of the terrorists personally. I do know who many of them are, that is, I have lived here in Josephine County for more than twenty-years. Many of the terrorists in the county have also lived here that long, and for that reason, I know what cells  many terrorists are associated with simply by recognition of them and having encountered them at stores or gas stations where they work as they kill Americans.

So, who will die at mu home today?

Who was blowing the Nitrous Oxide/Versed gas mixture into my house about three hours ago? I don't know. I do know that the gas they are using this week is a lot more powerful than the gas that has been used most of the time. I don't often completely pass out from the gas exposure inside my home, but I did twice in the past week.

James Comey was here yesterday. He came to my door in a Ku-Klux-Klan style robe with a cycle. A cycle is a thing that is used for cutting weeds and grass, a old-style weedwacker, no motor required. He would have access to the most powerful Nitrious Oxide/Versed.

The robe costume is familiar. It comes from the Freeburg, Erickson Air-Crane terror cell at 535 “MyStreet”. I am pretty sure Janice “Jay-Bob” Freeburg was killed inside my home yesterday morning. That means Bruce “Brewsky” Freeburg is likely to bring some people here today to try to kill me. The Freeburgs are associated with the Josephine County Circuit Court terror cell. The robe outfit used by the Freeburgs is also worn by the Josephine County Circuit Court terrorists, and it's extended members, and Erickson Air-crane. The robe is a dual-purpose disguise costume. They use it as a Ku-Klux-Klan outfit for when they kidnap and torture black people. They use it as a “Grim Reaper” disguise, gimmick, costume most of the time and have been doing so for about 18 years. They use the cycle to remove human heads. The cycle's blades are sometimes made from carpenters hand saws, which are cut into a curved shape and sharpened. The blades are fastened to a long, wood handle, and the handle is somewhat curved or twisted to accommodate swinging the blade.

James Comey came to my door wearing the disguise that belongs to Freeburgs. I could be wrong about the identity, but he looked like James Comey. Bruce “Brewsky” and “New Brewsky” both have scraggly looking white beards. Grim Reaper Comey, here yesterday, was very tall, and had no beard. His head rolled along my front entry sidewalk and was retrieved by a “ball chaser” while I was on a phone call. The girl that pretends to be my daughter called me, and while engaged in the phone call, that is when Grim Reaper Comey used a key to unlock my front door and come inside. When the door slammed against his head, it slammed his head against the door jamb. I used my own defense tools to take the Grimm Reapers head off and then continued with the phone call. On the phone, their were a number of people who began to participate in the call, not just the girl that pretends to be my daughter, there were others on the call also. That's when I heard at least three different people say, on that phone call, that the Reaper was James Comey, and that I had killed James Comey, and also, on the call, someone called for a “ball chaser” to go retrieve the head of the Reaper costume wearing assassin, James Comey. On that phone call, there were suggestions as to where on the internet I could make a comment about the event, I did that later on in the evening.

Today, on Twitter, among the accounts that I follow, there are a number of covert, coded Tweets being shared that also suggest that there are a large number of SAG terror leaders who are interested on knowing what became of James Comey resultant of the hit that failed yesterday.

An Amber alert text message about a Red Subaru Lagacy from Spokane Washington, and a Tweet from ODOT about a draw bridge being raised today at the Washington/Oregon border, for maintenance, is part of the terror comm associated with James Comey coming to my home to kill me and remove this page.

I killed James Comey yesterday, and nothing will be done about it. No one will say that James Comey is dead. They will perpetuate his existence with occasional media snippets and sound bytes like they have done with former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who also came to kill me last August, but was killed in defense here at my home.
