I'm wondering how well (or not, lol) tbhtbh valtor would handle bloom not only being in love and in a relationship with someone else, but if it was with someone who wasn't so... lackluster and insecurity-inducing as sky. if it was someone like stella or another character who had her total devotion and who couldn't be a weakness to exploit in the way that sky was for bloom.

Arlecchino and Pulcinella were a duo in the og Pinocchio so I kept thinking they’d know each other somehow in Lies of P, but their only connection is that they were both influential figures in Venigni’s life (for better or for worse) and both “awakened.” Given that Venigni is a reflection of Mangiafuoco, it’s funny how the two puppets who he held a menacing hand over in the original ended up being his guiding forces here🤧 they were the ones holding his strings, in a way.

I often think about the chapter where Mangiafuoco decides to use Arle as fire wood on a whim, only to be dissuaded by Pinocchio’s pleas. Similarly Venigni was once caught at the mercy of Arle’s violent whims in his childhood. His parents’ pleas put the idea to spare Venigni in Arle’s head but ultimately he didn’t make that choice out of compassion but out of sadistic curiosity (and to prove he acts on his own will). As we know, Arle considers Venigni his “masterpiece” for the traumatic impact he had on him, and you could argue that this experience is what made Venigni passionate about implanting the Grand Covenant in all puppets. A safety net for humanity, but consequently it tightens all the puppets’ strings. I guess what I’m trying to say is that the both of them are playing a game of power & control and it’s almost like they’re both trying to be the Mangiafuoco/puppet master over e/o

Natsu was looking out the window, attempting to control his jealousy. Taking Lucy to a Pegasus party? Lucy isn’t the type to party with those playboys. Anyone who knows anything about her would know better. Just who does that --. His thoughts were cut off at a snort from Lucy. He scowled at her. “What?”

Lucy waved a hand dismissively, “Nothing, nothing! You just look like you might burn a hole through the glass with the way you’re glaring at it. What’s up?” Natsu opened his mouth a few times to speak but couldn’t figure out how to explain without sounding like a petulant child. With her usual startling accuracy, Lucy cut right to the truth of it. “Is it Tachii? He’s the owner’s son. She wants me to go out with him, but I keep telling her I’m not interested. He’s a nice guy, but I don’t think he’s really my type.”

“Obviously!” Natsu snorted, stuffing a pastry into his mouth. “So why hasn’t he given up then, if you keep shooting him down?”

Lucy shrugged with a grimace. “Probably because his mother won’t let it go. She bugs me about him every time I walk by. I’ve told her I’m not interested in him, but she just doesn’t believe me. I have resigned myself to being forever hassled by her. It’s just one of the curses of being so cute!” She buried her face in her hands, playing the part.

The man across from her rolled his eyes and snorted again. When she looked back up at him, a tremor shot through her core. His eyes were locked on hers, dark with thinly veiled jealousy, heat, and mischief. “N-Natsu?” her voice trembled far more than she expected it to. She let out a squeal as Natsu’s foot shot out and dragged her stool closer to his own so that her legs were trapped between his knees.

“Well, I couldn’t live with myself, knowing that they were bothering you all the time, so let me see what I can do to help.” His voice was low and husky, making Lucy squeeze her thighs together tightly. An action that apparently did not escape Natsu’s notice, because he smirked even wider.

I have to pry myself off the computer for real but tomorrow will someone please talk to me about Love Between Fairy & Devil now that I've finally watched it a year after the rest of the internet, and how Fairy Danyin is the best character, and Danyin/Changheng is the most lesbian (and/or gnc)/gay solidarity ship ever, and I am so stunned that they textually ended with Danyin admitting her original thing for Gods of War is that she wanted to become one herself - i.e. there was some "idk if I want to be him or be with him" to her Changheng pining - and with her demonstratively labeling Changheng her xiongdi???????? They are bros in every lifetime!! And should go on Chidi/Danyin Changheng/Ronghao double dates!!!
