sorry if this has been asked before, but do you have any advice on how i might broaden a denim jacket around the shoulders? and maybe widening the sleeves too!

Wider shoulders and sleeves

I've got a post on how to widen shoulders on a jacket that might help you out. It also includes some information on how to widen sleeves. This top refashion by Confessions of a Refashionista is a good example of how this could be accomplished.

Note that when a garment feels too narrow in the shoulders, sometimes the culprit is the garment’s back width rather than the shoulders. If this is the case, an easier solution might be to let out the back seam of your jacket (if it has one), or to insert a strip of fabric at the centre of the back.
