Sangheili Bracket Round 2 Match 10
More info below:
Thel 'Vadam / The Arbiter:
Debuted in Halo 2
Born Dec. 10th, 2485, he-
You do not need me to write a five page breakdown on one of Halo's top five characters.
Jega 'Rdomnai / The Spartan Killer:
Debuted in Halo Infinite (retroactively present during "Headhunters" from Halo: Evolutions)
Born Feb. 19th, 2490, he would become part of the Silent Shadow whilst serving in the Covnenat military. His life would take a turn, though, when a unit he was part of had an encounter with a pair of Spartan-IIIs. This pair would cause an explosion that he survived, only to lose his left arm and left mandibles. Against Covenant tradition at the time, Jega would receive robotic prostheses. He would also take his damaged bloodblade's hilt to artisan-armorers at Cherras Keep, where it was reforged as Ghostpierce and mounted onto his robotic arm. Now full of obsession towards hunting down any and all Spartans, Jega would drift towards the Banished at some unknown point. Once in the Banished, he would develop a close friendship with War Chief Escharum over a long period of working together.
Because of this, he would be present on Installation 07 for the conflicts that took place there in 2560. He helped torture ONI operative Kate Stalling for information. In April 2560, he killed Spartan Bonita in the subterranean Forerunner structures under Outpost Tremonius. On May 14th, he took part in the Battle of the Beacon Tower; the next day, he ambushed Spartans Theodore Sorel and Vedrana Makovich when they infiltrated the Conservatory, killing the latter in a duel and wounding the former before he was killed by Tovarus and Hyperius a little later.
Two weeks later, he would be present to learn of the survival of the Master Chief and the destruction of the Ghost of Gbraakon, along with Escharum and Tremonius. Jega would restrained and threaten Tremonius upon his questioning of Escharum's leadership. Then, Escharum would order him to follow the Master Chief in order to gather intel. After the deaths of Hyperius and Toverus, Escharum would then order the Master Chief to be brought before him, with Jega worrying about his friend's worsening terminal illness. In order to bait the Master Chief, Jega would hijack Echo 216 and kidnap its pilot, Fernando Esparza. Returning to the House of Reckoning, he would witness Escharum's rage over the Harbinger and speak with him, revealing his plan to lure the Master Chief to them. The pilot would need to be kept alive, but Escharum told Jega he could have his fun with him beyond that. Later, when the Master Chief finally caught up, Jega would use the pilot's holorecorder to lure him into a trap. They would fight, with Jega being defeated. However, due to his body disappearing, his death could not be confirmed.

Happy birthday to Jega 'Rdomnai!
Today is his -466th birthday!
Tumblr media
'Rdomnai was a member of the Banished Spartan Killer special operations unit. He was notable for his prosthetic mandibles and arm, furnished with a bloodblade, antithetical to the typical Sangheili resistance to medical intervention and body modification. He was Escharum's closest friend and advisor, a rarity among their respective species.
'Rdomnai was responsible for multiple Spartan injuries and deaths, personally killing Bonita Stone and injuring Spartans Theodore Sorel and Vedrana Makovich.
During the conflict on Zeta Halo, he baited and attempted to kill Master Chief, and was defeated. However, his body cloaked upon his defeat and was not recovered, so his death is unconfirmed.
In canon (~2560) he is turning 70!

RP Call (Halo)
Tumblr media
As a warning, I'm a little rusty when it comes to RP but I'd like to get back into it. My rules/info:
Muses: Jega 'Rdomnai (main), several OCs / Fandom: Halo (only, AU friendly), canon or OC, any gender
1x1 / Partner must be 18+ (mun is 19)--does not have to have explicit content, however I am very happy to roleplay such scenarios, in fact it is a preference (see below for more info) / Off-site ONLY, no tumblr DMs or post replies. I have Discord and am open to trying out sites per suggestion / 2-4 sentences typical and preferred. / I use and prefer third person, but do not mind other perspectives. / One time or short term to start, but open to long term if we click. / I am patient and do not expect immediate replies, and would like to be given the same grace as I often run out of steam.
Explicit RP rules: NO non-con or underage content (blocked) / No heavy fetish content (I have nothing wrong with most fetishes and would never make fun of an RP partner for them, but I have my personal preferences and turn offs. However, you may ask if we can include something, but do not ask without being prepared for the answer to be No) / Seeking partner or character of any gender / Mun: Switch, Dom or Sub / Looking for any role/position
Reblog/DM if you are interested and we may share contacts (or RB to help promote if you'd like)

Another idea from horse anon:
The confirmation that Jega is still alive is more explicit, with jega showing up at Escharum's death, and stays with his body till his own wounds kill him too.
He could try to ambush Chief for killing his favorite rider, only for the master chief to retaliate and worsen his wounds. Rider and steed could die tragically together.
Two horrible bastards, going against the world, but the world is too big for a space ape and his horse to take on alone.
There could be a more deeper connection made between chief and Escharum from a vulnerable moment between Escharum and jega as they two watch each other die.
At this point, master chief would know what it's like to have the loyalty of a horse from Thel, and even then, Thel probably hasn't looked at him like that...
Sure, jega is a monster, but a horse is still a horse. A normally gentle, grazing animal. To see even this flesh eating, limb-missing, black maned spawn of hell that is equally worthy of the title demon still has that soft horse side, only for Escharum would just solidify Escharum's complexity a bit better. He's a terrible person, with probably hundreds or thousands of warcrimes on his record, but if ONE horse trusts him with its life, he is not an evil man.
Bonus if there are some remaining banished horses that mourn escharum, because if he's THAT good to jega, he'd probably be the best caretaker of the rest of the herd as general. He'd constantly be telling the other brutes how to handle their horses, and when they try to argue, they get proven wrong with hooves to the crotch.
This is absolutely beautiful and certainly would capture the whole friendship between the two even more so.
Tumblr media
[ai art] I actually like Escharum, there is a lot to him in depth which isn't revealed till later on in the game [spoiler] For example when Chief says he was but a soldier doing what he believed in, really hits hard. Jega would be the same, he beleived in Escharum who in turn believed in Atriox. I also feel that Atriox has a lot more in depth that we could have seen but never did.
Besides that I really love the indepth-ness to this :D It actually makes both of these characters much more interesting and heartfelt rather then just simple villains. I mean I do headcanon that Jega is still alive since the whole gameplay is...well survive, just survive. There isn't even a death notice on his wiki and his body just vanishes. Which normally I'd put as spoiler but I think by this point its already talked about. 343 could have said it was glitch but no.
Jega has to be alive. He would continue to live on and like Escharum whom believed Atriox and his will calling it a legacy. I think Jega would do that same, being so devoted to Escharum he would believe in Escharum's legacy and will. It would be cool if Atriox and Jega meet. I would like to see if Jega would be the same towards Atriox. Given that Atriox's plan is very much [spoiler]
About finding not just the Endless but females of his kind. Otherwise his species will dye out and right now Atriox is the only leader of the Brutes it seems despite his position during the Covenant as the Banished Leader. Atriox is the only one trying to do anything at all. Jega I think may have similar beliefs compared to Brutes too since he is outcast by his own kind. I can imagine other Sangheili in the Banished might even still make remarks about Jega when out of earshot of the other.

hey if you feel up to it could you do one about Jega? one where there's no mention of his death, he acts increasingly sweeter towards the reader, isn't too violent, and is protective? if not thats completely fine!
I assume this was meant to be a short story but I decided to try and experiment with those kinds of fics that's like a hybrid of HCs and a short story so I can experiment with a plot for this :0 Sorry if this is what you wanted and it took too long, still trying to get back into the swing of my side blog.
I kept the pairing general, I hope it all came out okay!
Jega 'Rdomnai being protective/caring of Reader
(HCs and Story Segments - Halo Infinite AU)
Synopsis/Summary: HCs and mini interactions/story pieces of Jega 'Rdomnai showing softer behavior towards reader and ways if could work.
Content Warning: Gender-Neutral Reader/Male Character pairing, Romantic/Platonic pairing, OOC Jega 'Rdomnai at times (Normally a sadistic character), Canon typical violence/death, Sangheili/Sangheili pairing mentioned, Human/Sangheili pairing mentioned, Dark themes mentioned, Mature language.
Tumblr media
Jega is a Sangheili that joined the Banished due to his cybernetics.
He is also much more bloodthirsty than most Sangheili, even befriending Escharum despite the animosity between their species.
He is part of The Hands of Atriox and is a Spartan Killer.
Many fear him and his sadistic tendencies during his hunts.
He's killed many humans and is merciless to enemies.
Which is why the concept of him being softer towards anyone is foreign.
No one really expects Jega to have any sort of soft side.
He's a cold killer... for the most part.
In terms of how reader could meet them, here's some ways I think you could be compatible.
You'd have to be part of the Banished, be you taken in as a prisoner before joining or joining willingly.
Jega's affections towards you would be quicker if you were Sangheili as well, both betrayed and abandoned by your kind.
When you first met Jega it was a relatively cold greeting. Both of you haven't had the best interactions with your own kind. However, The Banished promised to give you a fresh start to make your own life.
Most of the time you two ignored each other. He was often off hunting the UNSC while you had your own duties. Yet you hoped the relatively cold interactions wouldn't last long.
After all, part of you felt intrigue towards the Sangheili, despite his Cybernetics.
Maybe he even felt similar to you and just did not show if as of yet, instead opting to walk by you with a passive glance.
If you're a human, another option I enjoy the thought of, Jega would take longer.
Even though you're part of The Banished for your own reasons, he still sees you as one of the many weak humans in this world.
However, part of him may feel particularly fond of you despite the opinions he expresses.
Humans are indeed part of the Banished. Be it soldiers no longer willing to be loyal to the UNSC or humans who were willing to make business, everyone had their reasons. Reasons they did not have to share if they did not wish to.
All that really mattered was you were Banished now and you worked with the group loyally.
When it came to Jega you tended to stay away most of the time. He's known for killing humans and you'd rather not piss him off. Any sort of proximity to Jega was usually met with you shuffling away and nodding at him to pass by from a distance.
Despite this the Sangheili often passed by you during work. You thought it was because he didn't trust you. Yet it was so often it did make you wonder if he had other intentions.
After all, if he hated you, why would he come by so often?
Either way, Jega would be someone who's slow to show anything other than stoic emotions and sadistic violence.
Unlike Chak 'Lok, Jega isn't as polite as The Tower's torturer.
He thrives off the suffering of others, so when it comes to you he isn't used to being so... close?
His companionship towards you is definitely slow to occur.
It takes some interaction between you two, maybe even some favors, in order to grow close.
He finds it understandable that he'd want to be close with a Sangheili, but a human puzzles him.
Why does he want to be close to the very prey he kills?
For some reason... when you aid him as a member of The Banished regardless on your species, he finds companionship towards you.
It's like how he felt with his fellow brothers before he was tossed out of his entire society.
He finds comfort in you despite the bloodshed he reigns in.
Just maybe... you're someone he should keep an eye on?
Jega wasn't sure why he felt such a... fondness towards you. It wasn't quite like how he felt towards Escharum. With the Jiralhanae he felt something more like a brotherhood relationship.
When it came to you he felt more... calm? He felt something that he hasn't felt towards anyone in what felt like forever. It was only when he met you that he felt such a way.
Jega decides to make a silent promise to himself to check in with you more often. Maybe if he becomes a closer member with you he'll find why you make him this way.
He just hopes Escharum will allow him to explore such a curiosity.
Once Jega catches wind of his own affections to towards you he would definitely be one to scope out why.
He doesn't want it conflicting with his duty so he spends free time hunting you down to look into this interest of his.
As expected, someone of his infamy has trouble connecting with you.
Part of you expresses that you're impressed, however if you're human you certainly express more discomfort.
He tries his best to listen to conversation that you bring up, finding himself listening closer than he thought when you bring up pieces of your backstory.
He appears hesitant to speak about his own but eventually he'll share pieces of how he got here.
Honestly through conversations, favors, and time... you could probably unlock some sort of softness in Jega when you're alone?
Jega isn't going to be the type who is overly affectionate or anything like that, most Sangheili just aren't.
He shows his care for you in subtle ways.
You notice his tone is less gruff and he eases it to be softer around you.
To you it appears he cares, but it's subtle enough others don't really notice.
Or if they do, Jega threatens them to keep quiet.
He's still violent, it isn't going to change, but never towards you.
In fact he's more protective and loyal towards you, similar to Escharum but softer.
His protective tendencies over you are done out of respect.
He knows you can fight if you're a Sangheili, yet will stick beside you just to make sure you do come out fine.
"I wasn't expecting to see you here, Spartan Killer." You comment when the infamous Sangheili materializes out of his camo beside you.
"I was called here." Jega answers simply, following you as you continue your patrol.
"Really? Last I knew someone of your skill is never called for patrols." You say back, a teasing bite in your tone.
"... seen anything?" Jega answers simply.
"No, if I needed back up I'd call for it." You slowly turn to him. "However... I don't mind the company, since you're so free."
Jega says nothing else and cloaks beside you in silence until he's called to slaughter another demon.
When it comes to if you're a human he appears to stick around more.
Fear is not in Jega's vocabulary, he just feels if your base is attacked you'll need a strong warrior to help.
You're both Banished partners after all, regardless of species.
"I want you to hide." Jega's order is demanding, a warning.
"Aren't I supposed to fight, Jega? For the sake of The Banished?" You ask, hiding the fear in your gut.
"And get yourself killed? Stay out of this. That's an order." Jega growls, shoving you out of sight.
Jega doesn't care if you're an ex-spartan, far as he knows he's going to treat you like a weak human. You've managed to make an impression on him and he isn't going to lose you to something stupid. He doesn't care if others look at him in disgust or amusement...
If you're alive and under his protection, he can rest easy.
He makes a mental note to see Escharum about moving you to somewhere more secure.
The most I can see Jega being when it comes to affectionate is him rewarding you with his protection and companionship.
He could see you as simply another Banished ally he's close with, or something much more.
He's already been cast out from his species by using forbidden cybernetics, he's already befriended Jiralhanae, at this point he does what he likes.
If he wants to dedicate himself to protecting you and caring for you, he will.
Jega cares and maybe even feels love towards you in his own way.
He may not be very affectionate or "loving" in the "traditional" sense.
But there is certainly a sense of care there when it comes to you.
"I used to be intimidated by you." You say softly towards the taller Sangheili.
"You're not now?" Jega scoffs.
"Don't get me wrong, you're infamous and terrifying at times. But between me and you... I feel safe." You go on with a slight laugh. Jega listens softly, eyes flicking to you.
"What are you implying?"
"I'm saying... I care about you, from one Banished to another." You finish, leaning against a wall. Jega soaks in your words before nodding softly, checking to see if you're still in private.
"... I can say the same." Jega admits. "You provide a sense of comfort no one else can. For that, I thank you."
You shine him a small smile.
"That's a first. I hope we can keep such a thing going?" You ask in a hopeful tone.
"Don't let it get to your head..." The Sangheili grunts before softening his tone. "... but I think the same."

You see, I've been obsessive about Halo lore lately because I'm reading the books so I'd love to do a Halo request ^^ My prompts were used for this if people wanted to know! Darling is human as I crave Alien/Human content. Not a spartan, however, sadly for you.

His own species and clan cast him out long ago. He had used cybernetics and tossed away his honor for the thrill of the hunt. Now he feels at home with the Banished.
'Rdomnai lives for the hunt. He loves the kills and he adores the chase. He's known as a 'Spartan Killer' for a reason, after all. Those humans are the best to hunt.
The humans would fall on this Ring. They don't have much of a fighting chance. Which is why they made decent prey for the blademaster.
He loves the fear that radiates from prey. Normally he picked the strongest, Spartans. However, if none were around... he picked at random.
He likes to see them struggle.
That was when 'Rdomnai first met you. A seemingly weak human he loves to stalk. You never saw him due to his superior cloaking technology, but he was there.
He saw how your muscles tensed when he was nearby.
Are you eager for the hunt too, human?
'Rdomani's favorite part of you is how you cling to survival. It's intoxicating to watch you, even more so when you fight against the Banished for your life. He should be helping them...
Yet maybe he's testing you.
'Rdomani had to learn to be patient with you. With his cloaking on he wished to observe you and your potential. His mandibles tremble at the idea of getting close to you.
You sparked something within the Sangheili. A strange feeling that he should not have towards human prey. He's surprised he still had it in him.
He felt a craving for companionship when watching you.
You must be good prey if you make him feel like this. Perhaps he didn't feel anticipation at killing you. He was excited to feel your skin in his claws once he catches you.
Was this love? In his twisted mind it might be. He doesn't care too much for the reasoning of his hunt.
He cares only about securing his prey.
The Sangheili waits until you leave your group to strike. You were tasked to find supplies and oversee a marine group. Such a mission was a death sentence all because you were sent on it.
How's it feel deep within you to know that?
Do you feel guilt when he reveals his blades? Do you feel helpless when he ruthlessly kills your people by sinking the plasma blade into their searing skin. Maybe you feel nothing but shock...
All due to the gnawing fear that eats at you as he steps closer, cloaking tech off with his skin covered in blood.
The blood of your people whom you were supposed to help serves as a reminder for your failure.
"I've been waiting for our game, human."
"Spartan killer..."
"That is one of my well earned titles, I'm happy you know that. You should know you're lucky."
"Lucky to die by you?"
"Perhaps... unless you know how to keep a hunter entertained."
The hunt begins once he cloaks away.
Watching you stumble as you run makes him laugh. He'll exhaust you like a predator. All the while he taunts you.
"Slow down and I'll catch up."
He drags a claw on a tree to startle you.
"I'm going to catch you..."
The sound of a plasma sword strikes fear in you, your adrenaline at an all time high.
"I'll chase you down like an animal if I have to!"
His little game ends once you're lost and tired. Despite imminent defeat... you crawl to hide. You still cling onto the idea of survival like he thought you would.
You're completely unaware he's standing over you.
Watching the color drain from your skin brings him joy. If they still made spartans he's sure you'd be molded into a great warrior. However, fate is not so fair...
He can see the desperate tears in your eyes.
"You're crying... come a little closer, I'll make it all go away."
You expect the sword to come out and flay your flesh. You back up, shaking your head. He only follows closely.
"No... please...!"
"Your pleas are pitiful, human. Stop your tears."
He steps on your pelvis, clawed foot keeping you still.
"I said you're lucky. I'm not going to kill you like the rest."
He sees your eyes glimmer with hope before being shot down when he grins.
"I'm going to keep you."
You struggle under his foot, trying to pull off his leg from you. His strength was crushing.
"What?"
"I don't only like the kill of my hunts. Trophies are nice too. You'll be my newest toy."
He leans down, arms on his supposed knee.
He eases his leg off before grabbing your arm and pulling you up. You swear it nearly popped out of its socket.
"Maybe you'll break... maybe you won't... that doesn't change a thing. This will be my mercy to you."
"Even monsters can love, can't they...?"
"Love...?" You spat. You glare at the Sangheili with eyes still glistening with tears. "You don't know love."
"I suppose I don't."
'Rdomnai hums before pulling you closer.
"I do hope you intend to teach me then, human. It'll keep you alive longer than the rest."

Jega v Bero ficlet
It was a time before Installation 04 and a time before the Silent Shadow confrontation with a pair of Headhunters. Two special groups within the Covenant military - the Silent Shadow and the SpecOps - had decided to put on a friendly contest. For this, two of the best swordsman were offered up as representatives for a duel - Jega 'Rdonmai for the Silent Shadow and Bero 'Kusovai for the SpecOps.
Bero boasted skill that made him rival his superior, Rtas 'Vadum, but he knew to not get ahead of himself. The Silent Shadow were famous - potentially infamous - across the Covenant. They only picked the best of the best, and took on the deadliest missions. Even if their representative chosen was the worst performing swordsman in their ranks, Bero would still be facing a monumental challenge.
And indeed, his opponent was relentless. He considered it a blessing that this duel was strictly to end with no death - otherwise, not only would he have lost his life, but he might not have lasted as long as he did. Eventually, he was left landing hard on the ground, breaths rushing in and out as his hearts nearly beat right out of his chest. The odds had been stacked against him - anyone could've foreseen that - but he still felt like he wouldn't be able to look his peers in the eye for the next few days.
When he lifted his head, his eyes locked with his opponent, who had been staring down at him this entire time. Obscured by the Silent Shadow helmet, Bero had no idea if the thoughts going through his head were good or bad. Perhaps he was so disappointed with Bero that he was contemplating executing him right then and there?
Instead, Jega merely nodded his head. "You spar well. For a SpecOps."
With his next heartbeat, Bero lifted himself up, all while maintaining eye contact. "And you were to my expectations, Silent Shadow."
"I almost suspect an invitation in your future..."
"And I would be greatly honored, to catch the Silent Shadow's attention..." He clacked his mandibles, plotting the most careful approach to his words. "But my satisfaction in where I am now will fuel my patience."
Not a complete rejection, with the subtext being subtle enough. Jega appeared to accept it without insult.
"Based on this little contest..." he huffed. "Feel free to be patient. 'Kusovai."
Bero's bow of the head was quick, the tilt of it barely complete. "I am humbled by your advice. 'Rdonmai."

Happy birthday to Spartan Bonita Stone!
Today is her -512th birthday!
Tumblr media
Stone was born on Komoya and enlisted in the UNSC, where she served on a stealth vessel. This experience lead to her placement on Fireteam Shadow after she joined the SPARTAN-IV program.
In 2560, Stone was serving aboard the Infinity when it was attacked by the Banished. She was ordered to separate from her team and evacuate with Spartan Nina Koven while the other members of Shadow stayed behind. After crash-landing on Zeta Halo, she and the remaining survivors met up with Koven, who was leading her own group of survivors. Witrhout a real fighting force or orders, the group remained hidden and only fought if necessary as they made their way through the ring. Eventually, they discovered the UNSC outpost at the Mortal Reverie. The Reverie had crash-landed on the ring but still had sufficient supplies to act as a much-needed stronghold for the scattered UNSC forces. Their leader, Spartan Hudson Griffin, left with a small team in an attempt to assassinate Escharum. He failed, and Escharum staged a counter-attack on the Reverie. Despite being prepared for the attack, the UNSC forces were overwhelmed and were forced to flee. Stone and the survivors went into hiding and resorted to guerilla warfare.
Eventually, she returned to the Reverie to find that the Banished had been excavating. They used a human prisoner to access an artifact which gave them the location of the ring's defensive systems. Realizing this would eliminate any chances of a UNSC survival, Stone attacked. She engaged with several Banished leaders, including Jega 'Rdomnai, Gorian, and Hectarius. Though she was at a significant disadvantage, she was still able to get close enough to steal the data on the ring's defenses and have her personal AI, Ouco, copy and then corrupt the Banished's version of the data. Eventually, she was overrun and was abushed by 'Rdomnai, who impaled her on his energy sword. The Banished took the data node back, unaware that it had been corrupted.
Her body was later discovered by Koven, who retrieved the invaluable data from Stone's armor, but did not have the means to move her. A month later, Stone aided the UNSC one last time when Master Chief discovered her body and was able to add her energy shielding module to his own armor.
