Junmei or Ms. Zhang, as she is called by the students she teaches the Marine Biology Basic Class to every summer term at Britchester University is a renowned marine biologist who is not only famous for the academic papers she has published but also for her passion for the creatures of the ocean and their protection.

Once a music prodigy in childhood, Junmei's budding career as a pianist was cut short due to an accident, that left her partially deaf. During her recovery, she drew strength from the view of the ocean from her hospital room and enrolled to study biology with a focus on marine biology as soon as she was healthy enough to do so. 20 something years later, she hasn't lost her passion one bit and continues to strive for better protection for the habitat that she has grown to love, even if it means neglecting her personal life along the way. Her marriage to Jess Morgan, a jazz pianist ended some time ago and she's not sure whether she'll ever be over them.

BFCD Masterlist || Black Femme x Asian Character Relationships

This is a list of the ships with at least one Black female character x at least one Asian person or performer (Instances in which the characters aren't human will count as the person portraying the character's race).

As of the 4 Year Anniversary of blackfemmecharacterdependency April 30th, 2024, I am not going to be active. I decided to simply post what I had. The list is incomplete for the foreseeable future, but everyone is welcome to add on to it. Especially because I had several ships planned that I didn't get a chance to add before I had to stop maintaining the blog.

Black + Asian (This is for People with Black and Asian in them. They aren't necessarily ship representation, but sort of are because they are a product of such relationships and may be used for FC's if you have a character of similar makeup)

Bridgerton Cast out and about in February

To bookend my beginning of the month post speculating on expected and hoped for appearances by Bridgerton cast I thought I might start doing a end of month round up of their appearances.  I haven't gone out to document everything so if I miss some I apologise.  So let's have a look back at the very busy February the Bridgerton cast have had.  

The most anticipated February event in the Bridgerton calendar for February has to be the Season of Love Fan Event to celebrate season 4.  Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, alongside Jess Brownell attended the event hosted by Hugh Sachs, with questions from Golda Rosheuvel.  Luke and Yerin talked about Benedict and Sophie, and gave some hints as to what we can expect from season 4, and as expected some stills were released, and we saw a sneak peek with some BTS from the season.  After the main online event they attended the Immersive Dinner with the influencers and press that attended the Q&A earlier.  

It could be fair to say that after the Valentine's Day event the SAG Awards were the next highly anticipated Bridgerton adjacent event in February.  Along with a number of the support cast, such as Genevieve Chenneour, Banita Sandhu and Rosa Hesmondalgh, there were a number of the main cast in attendance.  Among the cast we saw in attendance were Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, Daniel Francis, Florence Hunt, Will Tilston, Victor Alli, Hannah Dodd, Harriet Cains, Martins Imhangbe, Emma Naomi and of course Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.  

February is BAFTA month in the UK, and in the past we have seen Bridgerton cast members at the BAFTA events - and even the BAFTAs themselves (2022 anyone?).  The first of the BAFTA events that we saw Bridgerton cast at was the Vanity Fair EE Rising Star Pre-BAFTAs party which Florence Hunt, Yerin Ha, Isabella Wei, Michelle Mao and Katie Leung attended towards the beginning of the month.  Closer to the awards show the Dunhill and BAFTA Filmmakers Dinner was held and Rege Jean Page was in attendance.  Other pre-BAFTA events included the Lancome celebrates 25 years of beauty at the BAFTAs (Emma Naomi), British GQ Celebrates Excellence in Film with Paul Smith (Luke Newton and Rege Jean Page).  Emma Naomi was also in attendance at the BAFTA Nominees Party the day before the awards ceremony, while Hannah Dodd and Rege Jean Page attended the Charles Finch & Chanel pre Bafta party on the same day, and at the Apple TV Bafta Brunch Charithra Chandran was seen.  Hannah Dodd and Florence Hunt attended the BAFTA AWards, and the British Vogue x GQ Film & Fashion BAFTA After Party where they were joined by Luke Newton and Charithra Chandran.  Charithra went on to the Netflix BAFTA After Party as well.  

As well as the BAFTAs the IFTAs (Irish Film and Television Awards) were held during February and Bridgerton's Irish Colleen was in attendance making an appearance at the awards show.  Speaking of Awards shows, Adjoa Andoh was in attendance at the 56th NAACP Image Awards Creative Honours in February.  

Hannah Dodd and Charithra Chandran also attended the MiuMiu Women's Tales #29 Dinner just before the BAFTA awards, and Harriet Cains attended the Newport Beach Film Festival UK & IE Honours. 

Isabella Wei and Katie Leung made their presence known at events during February in addition to the BAFTA event mentioned above.  Isabella Wei and Katie Leung attending the HUISHAN ZHANG Chinese New Year Dinner party, and then later in the month attended the HUISHAN ZHANG show during London Fashion Week.  Isabella Wei also attended the London Fashion Week show for Mithridate.  

Whilst on the subject of London Fashion Week Golda Rosheuvel attended the ROKSANDA show, and we saw Jessica Madsen walk the catwalk for Burberry.  

One of the more visible Bridgerton cast members in February was Simone Ashley, with press starting up for her new movie Picture This she was out and about during the month, beginning with a viewing of Picture This in New York City in association with Brown Girl Magazine, and a day later she was seen at the Calvin Klein Show for NY Fashion Week.  After New York Simone returned to Europe having been spotted in Paris filming for L'Oreal with Carlos Sainz on the same day that the trailer for Picture This was released - and a flood of promo from Prime Video for the movie.  During London Fashion Week Simone attended the invitation only 16Arlington 'Lights on' Dinner, and then she travelled to Milan for the Prada show during Milan Fashion Week.  Finally Simone ended the month with the Picture This UK press day which included an interview on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, and an appearance on the BBC's One Show with Sindhu Vee.  

Theatre was also big for a couple of the Bridgerton actors during February with both Richard II starring Jonathan Bailey, and Much Ado About Nothing with James Phoon, opening in London.  Both plays began their previews on the same night, but had their press nights a day apart.  There wasn't a huge party for the press night for Richard II, but there were some interviews with Jonathan Bailey, however for Much Ado About Nothing there was an after party on the Press Night.  James Phoon also made an appearance at the WhatsonStage awards the night before he began the run for Much Ado About Nothing.  In addition to Jonathan Bailey and James Phoon acting on stage, Bessie Carter was seen attending the opening for The Years on the West End.  Staying with theatre Adjoa Andoh also attended the new cast gala night for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.    

Whilst we are talking about Jonathan Bailey, the trailer for Jurassic World released in February showcasing Jonathan in his first major motion picture lead role.  The movie will be released in July.  

As well as the events mentioned, during February there were a number of previews and special screenings that saw the cast attend, beginning with a special screening of the Netflix series Zero Day attended by Adjoa Andoh.  Bessie Carter attended the NY premiere of her new series A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis story, and whilst in NY also attended a screening of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.  A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis story released in the US on BritBox in February, it releases in the UK in March.  

Rege Jean Page appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel show to promote his new movie Black Bag, which is releasing in March.  

And finally, Claudia Jessie's new TV series for Netflix, Toxic Town, released at the end of February.
