I've got a theory question for tdb (bear with me, I've blazed through story so remembering the beginning is a little difficult)

So at the beginning, the anomaly we met was actively texting us right? Said something about how they've "been waiting to see us" or somethin like that

Which we know anomalies can be sentient (especially if we run with the theory with towa). And I dunno, I wanna loop in the time loop theory somewhere here. If we go with the idea of mc being the girl in the tower and her jumping before a loop maybe, then what (or who) is the anomaly we met?

I've been going through the tdb tag to see if you've mentioned it yet and no one has asked, so I figured I would bc I like bouncing theories... I need to hop on tdb reddit

SO I lurk in the discord server some people on the reddit put together and it was pointed out there that shortly after that happened the dev's other game had a Rapunzel themed event 💀💀💀 so that's what the line about the girl in the tower was likely referencing since it makes sense someone like Taiga would "not be into that shit (i.e. not his game) at all." THAT BEING SAID I am so glad you brought up the anomaly in the beginning because there's some stuff about it I find interesting.

I went and took some screenshots from the summoning and the person who commented under that little theory was right in that the person who is falling does land in the woods, so it could be that whoever jumps off of the tower at the end of the loop does end up in the woods somewhere. It might mean nothing, but I'll hold onto this thought just in case.

Dorms rarely cooperate on missions, so Taiga and Haku being on one together is odd. Taiga also does not seem to have lines referencing Haku, but he seems to have given up on trying to escape the timeloop and wants "the others" to join him in his nihilism. I think this sort of goes with his being a gambler who says there is "no trick to winning you just have keep playing" but still desperately looking to the MC for "something I could do different" or a reason. He wants to have hope again but he isn't able to.

I personally think these "others" he talks about are probably Tohma and Romeo, Tohma because he seems to be one of the more active ones working to isolate the traitor and Romeo because that's his best friend. Oh and while I am on the subject of the traitor, someone brought up to me a crack theory about Luca being the traitor and I have seen some votes for Towa too. While I obviously think that it is almost certain to be Haku, I think there is a potential for a faction split between people who agree with whatever Haku's take on the ghoul's situation is and people who agree with Tohma. Luca is a very good candidate for someone who I could see being manipulated into siding with the "evil" side if he thought it meant it was the only way to protect his brother. Towa will go wherever Haru does, and I can't really see Haru siding with Haku if it involves hurting the anomalous creatures in any way. That and Haku seems very convinced that he's in whatever he's in alone.

But to finally answer your question/talk about what's been bugging me: the anomaly who curses the MC takes her into something that reminds me of a cursed domain from JJK and turns the scenery all red. And like you said they text her! Like it's been stalking her for a long time. I hope we get to learn about how Haku's flute works in the Hotarubi chapter because I want to know how and why he was able to take MC out of the anomaly's domain and return her to the train car. That almost made me think he could control it in some way... I'll have to level his affection enough to see what his pfp is in his texts because it it is remotely similar to the one the anomaly uses I will have a stroke.

As for what the anomaly is... it's profile picture is a spider lily and it uses the name "Mina" when talking to MC. It's head has roses, spider lilies and what I think are supposed to be poppies growing on its head. Apparently there is a Chinese legend about spider lilies and I keep seeing the same text copy and pasted everywhere about it, but I feel comfortable sharing what I found since I was able to find it on Wuhan University's English website: (x)

I imagine when we meet whatever monster cursed MC it will be a bit different than whatever is going on here, but MC is talking about how "if she knew it would end like this she never would have fallen for them in the first place." Sure she's just talking about how her favorite band just broke up, but maybe that feeling drew the spirit towards her since it is attracted to/preys on lost loves.

If I am allowed to cope a whole bunch here, I think it would make for solid timeloop building if MC's feelings weren't about the band at all, but about her lost love who jumped off the building at the start of the game. Since the loop has restarted she doesn't remember him, so she thinks her feelings are and directs them towards the band she used to love, but the strength of her disappointment comes from somewhere else.

if you were to write a novel (i.e. not a jjk fanfic), what would you write about it? what would be the ideal time period, characters, plot-line, trope you'd explore?

ANON ….. this is such a fun question. i’m the type who makes up different book concepts alllll the time but they never become anything more than that…. they’re all pretty similar too 😭😭

i lovelovelove magic realism, so it’d definitely be something along those lines!! a modern, realistic scenario with fantasy elements :33 i’ve always really loved media that explores the line between fantasy and reality (and the ways they melt together), so i’d love to write something for that….

as for characters. it’s almost always a group of childhood friends LMAO. it’s just very up my alley!!! something omori-esque . around four or five friends with vibrant personalities.

anddd when it comes to The Plot…. there was this One concept i thought of a while ago that i got pretty attached to. it was basically just a timeloop story where the main character returns to their hometown one summer and . the same week just keeps repeating. and they have no idea why. and time is kind of just … unravelling?? they never make it to the next week, but the weather keeps changing, turning colder… etcetc. i adore the timeloop trope more than Anything so that’s why i’m very drawn to this kind of scenario :3 summer stories in general are really appealing to me bc of the nostalgia and melancholia factors. and i always end up gravitating towards stories with grotesque elements but an overall feeling of hope… i really can’t stand cynical stories !!!! it’s just boring to me.

what else ….. umm um um . i like writing abt isolation :> and devotion . and friendship and soft intimacy. i feel like that’s probably obvious phdjdhd… breakfasts and mornings and flowers. etcetc. for some reason all the book concepts in my brain also include a fox ? like . a fox god or a fox demon or a weird .. fox guy …. idk i just think it’s fun to sprinkle in some mythology :3 and foxes r fun.

wip wednesday (feat shibuya groundhog day/time loop multi-ch goyuu)

blurb | holy shit y’all, I’ve got another multi-ch jjk fic on the block. and it's not interfering w adsr. I have never had the mental capacity to as much as consider two multi-ch fics at the same time; if I’m working on a multi-ch wip, and inspiration suddenly strikes and forces me to get another one off the ground, I just abandon the former for the latter. they can never co-exist. well until now apparently.

maybe due to the fact that this is like, the first longish fic I’ve ever set out to write, that I know needs to start with x, and contain y, to equate z (in less dumbass terms: I know what the fuck I’m supposed to write (which I never do lmao, as a writer I operate on 0 thoughts 100% vibes in the purest sense, which is idiotic when all I can write is plotty as sh*t)). which is why I’m slowly fleshing out ch 09 of adsr alongside chapter 1/2 of cv/sm (title isn’t necessarily all that spoiler-y, but in a sense it is, so keeping the full thing under wraps for now). estimating chapter length to be around at least 10-ish k each.

annnnd bc it’s fun to dump a wip somewhere whilst in-progress, I’ll be doing these wip wednesday updates whenever there’s something to say about it.

Satoru shields a hand—and himself—against dank, bloodspill red rays of supposed-to-be-sunlight. He squints, for the second time in very short—a novelty—as he slowly treks up a quasi-path in sand that’s less sand, more earth-adjacent carnage. There’s as much splintered rock and powdered mineral, weighed down by radioactive algae, as there is—

Bone. Satoru didn’t pay all that much attention to any of his number of biology classes, but via this or the other, he knows that he just stepped clean through the porous curve of a partial ilium crest. 

Bone. And calcified curse. Whoever’s pelvis he just crushed beneath the heel of his boot is fifty fifty, somehow. Curses have weight to them: Satoru doesn’t mean that in an abstract, flighty sense; curses weigh literal kilos, if realized enough. And this bit of so old it’s become brittle-bone isn’t brittle because it doesn’t have the amassed density of dense bone mineral and weighty curse—

It’s brittle because the curse which blankets the very atmosphere—and by extension Satoru—like the incredible opposite of stepping out into balmy, subtropical climate after so long breathing recycled air on long flight, is so much heavier.

Satoru swallows against a parched throat he hadn’t realized was this dry. Bile amasses sour at the back of his tongue. He’s not so naïve as to not believe his eyes; they’ve never deceived him, though he has admittedly, a scant number of times, seen only a partial piece when he’s supposed to have zoomed out, regarded the whole frame. So he won’t do himself the discourtesy of cowering for what he is indeed seeing, right now, either.

Wherever he is might be Tokyo; might be Japan. It might not be. The thought occurs to him that there might be no such thing as ‘Japan’ at this point.

He scuffs a toe in the wet kind of-sand. At least the ocean remains a steady, squalling, sucking depth of blue-grey-black: a constant. He puts a cupped palm to shield his eyes as he scans his immediate surroundings: the carnage-filled slope of the once-beach hitches up into a small rock jut. Satoru climbs it with wary, though loping steps. Can’t reach the peak far enough, just as he can’t wait to wake up, startled out of horrid, nightmarish slumber by his senses wavering, flickering out of active guard for a millisecond.

Fucking ironic, how being imprisoned in an alternate dimension, whilst your comrades are no doubt slaughtered, picked off one by one on the outside, can apparently measure up and beyond to a certain iteration of reality.

The world beyond Satoru’s meager outlook spot, for lack of actual, original words, looks like a most fleshed out iteration of Ducasse’s juxtaposed sewing machine and an umbrella, flayed bare and egregiously stitched together, there on the dissecting table. A subcutaneous fissure in the earth yawns wide and open ahead of him, having broken through what was once maybe an inlaid asphalt road, which might’ve bisected the dry landscape, made it into something traversable. Farther ahead, vines have staked their claim on man made structures: lampposts and road signs lilt askew, overgrown now and mostly impossible to identify by cursory glance alone. To his left, far up ahead, a probable once upon a time-gas station has been half-gouged out of place, bits and pieces of the foundation strewn, alongside the disembodied hood of a car, and the shriveled spirals of torn-apart rubber, like so much collateral, structural shrapnel.

The air is heady and thick with curse. It’s invasive, and everywhere, muggy and humid; it fills his pores to the brim, snakes into his clothes, mingles so thoroughly with the oxygen that it might as well be one and the same.

Satoru doesn’t have the personality to become overwhelmed: whatever typical strains of reactionary, knee jerk, emotional responses might’ve once been ingrained into the core of him, he’s successfully whetted away over time. Has picked out, grasped between the thumb and pad of index finger, and ripped out by the root.

He sinks to a crouch by way of slow inching. Drops his weight until he’s dislodged most of his mass to be temporarily suspended in the aborted motion of balancing himself between the flat of his sole, and his knees. He puts his right hand to rest on top of his rocky underfoot, not in support, but to feel dense, solid earth under his knuckles as he tightens them. He dispels Infinity, in this instant giving less than a flying fuck about what might happen to him as a result of it, and digs his blunt fingernails into the meat of his palm until it breaks into gaping, blood pulsing lesions.

I don't pmmm really would work as part of the crossover, for many reasons, but mainly do to the whole timeloop thing going on in the story. Also please no pmmm witches... If you want a darker show I'd say I'd rather have you add jujutsu kaisen to this, but I don't really want even the slightest possibility of mahito getting anywhere near the others. Then again, interactions between the jjk cast and everyone else would be interesting for sure

Perhaps. I'll have to see how the plot/lore functions and honestly I might make slight AUs anyway.

Some of the Time Loopers Crimes

Upon awaking within his this loop, Yuuji immediately attempted to fist fight Gojo while still being ass naked.

Once during Jogo and Gojo's fight, Yuuji made several comments on the things he would do to Jogo's, quote "Steamy little Volcano Hole." Jogo fled the domain battle quickly after hearing this.

Directly after being revealed to be alive to his friends Yuuji lunged at Yoshinobu Gakuganji and pantsed them.

Yuuji and Todo have been seen running around Japan in maid dresses while exorcising curses.

There are multiple instances of Yuuji sneaking pies into meetings and throwing them at higher ups. The current count is at 23.

Gojo once insulted the Human Earthworm series in front of Yuji and he just straight up killed himself so he wouldn't have to be in a loop with that version of Gojo.

Yuuji has a habit of doing stuff that would usually have really horrific consequences and then just resetting. It's really disturbing to an outsider, one day this kid was smiling like the sun, the next he's covered in someones blood and telling you to kill him.

Yuuji sometimes runs away from Jujutsu high and just lives with Junpei as a personal bodyguard/chef/maid/bestie/gay lover???

Its not always crazy lives, sometimes he just hides his identity and becomes a baker. He's gotten really good at hiding from sorcerers after the first few hundred loops.

Sometimes he likes to track down and fuck with Kenjaku, just like run into him on the street a lot. It scares the shit out of Kenjaku every time, it's how he bonds with Sukuna.

He has zero concept of time, he's either really early or really late to everything. It's worse than Gojo.
