So, in a previous tag response on the diver resisting the urge to pet the sixgill shark, I pointed out that we don’t know how a bluntnose sixgill shark, Hexanchus griseus (Bonaterre, 1788), would respond to human touch outside of duress.
Well. . . as of today, that’s no longer the case. Here’s a video from John Sanders’ channel; just uploaded. We can see the shark settled to the floor, as it did in the GIF. It may even be the same shark. She appears unbothered by the touch, and isn’t fighting and isn’t trying to get away. In this video, we have two perspectives of the same event. So, it appears that this specific H. griseus doesn’t mind attention from humans. Reminder that every shark has a different personality, and we need more evidence before we can say that H. griseus is okay with touch and attention like this.
Merlin finale 10-year making me think of this song today.
On and on you grasp and guess
And search for patterns in the mess
Of what has been, and what is left
To yet endure
The jester shrugs and plays his part
The fearful see only dark
The pious with their hope-filled hearts
Sing Hallelujah

All the love, and all the gold
All you've built and all you've sold
All the power you may hold
You won't evade her
All the steel, all the bricks
All the math and magic tricks
All the carrots, all the sticks
Will not dissuade her
On and on and on, you stumble on
Towards the fading sun
Turn a blind eye, fight or run
Rest assured, the night will come
As for that, the rest is just a test of your endurance
You gotta love life
You gotta love life
You gotta love life
I made a list of Sanders Sides as John Mulaney quotes a long time ago and forgot how Absolute Gold they are
Logan:
"I'll keep all my emotions right here, and then one day, I'll die."
Roman:
"I need everybody, all day long, to like me SO MUCH."
"Everyone get out of my way, I just want to sit here and feed my birds."
"I never knew that relationships were supposed to make you feel better about yourself. That's not really a joke, that's just a lil sweet thing I like to say."
Virgil:
"Do My Friends Hate Me, or Do I Just Need To Go To Sleep?"
"I am thirty-five years old and I am still terrified of secondary locations."
"In terms of instant relief, cancelling plans is like heroin."
Patton:
"My vibe is more like, 'hey, you could pour soup in my lap and I'll probably apologize to you!'"
"Ooh, ducklings!"
"[My dog] is my best friend, I give her a million kisses a day, she does not like me and barks at me and bites me all day long."
Janus:
"And I said 'no,' you know, like a liar."
"You have the moral backbone of a chocolate eclair."
*imitating an old gay man* "you want me to do what?"
"No, that's okay. I was lying. It was a lie. To get drugs. You know, like a crime?"
"You can go very far in life if you pretend to know what you're doing."
Remus:
"SCATTER!"
"FUCK DA PO-LICE!"
"Because it's the one thing you can't replace."
"Hey, do you want me to kill that guy for you? Because it sounds like he sucks and I will totally kill that guy for you."
I've posted most of these before but fuck it, you're having them again. Johnny JR Robins aka one of the greatest photo takers of this generation of comedians.
Ed: You're good friends with John. When you heard he was doing the show, what was your first thought?
Lou: I thought, oh thank God he'll stop bitching about not being on Taskmaster. Didn't you?
Ed: No, I loved him bitching about not being on Taskmaster!
