“I actually studied art, so I know what I’m doing, jerk,” Minghao spits back.

Junhui rolls his eyes and giggles when Minghao slaps his arm in retaliation. “I wanna be a pretty kitty and you’re probably making me ugly.”

Minghao only grins, the brush in his hand never wavering in its strokes. “You could never be ugly, Jun-ge.”

“My pretty face is why you love me so much, don’t ruin it.”

“I don’t love you for your face,” Minghao mutters, frowning as he picks up another brush and dips it into the black tube of face paint. “Now stop talking, I’m about to put your whiskers on.”

Junhui keeps still, only smiling once Minghao focuses on his nose instead of his cheeks. Minghao has his bottom lip caught between his teeth as he concentrates, eyebrows furrowed together. It’s only safe to move when Minghao’s expression clears and he starts putting his supplies away, but Junhui waits for his all-clear anyway.

“We’re all done now. You’re the prettiest kitty on this side of the planet,” Minghao says, smiling when Junhui immediately jumps up and cheers.

Minghao’s laughing when Junhui leans down and kisses him, a messy and awkward kind of kiss due to Minghao’s open mouth and Junhui’s painted face. They make it work somehow because they’ve always made it work.

Junhui doesn’t need to look in the mirror to know that Minghao did a good job since Minghao always does an amazing job anyway, but he looks into one nearby just so that he can turn right around and watch the way Minghao flushes at his praise.

“You know, considering how you are, I’m surprised that you can put up with Junhui for any length of time.”

Minghao, who has been ignoring almost all of this conversation for the moment, abruptly turns to look at who would ever speak such offending words. “What the hell do you mean by that?”

The boy - because Minghao hadn’t cared to learn his name and still doesn’t give a damn enough to do so now - flushes under his heated glare. “Ah, don’t misunderstand! I don’t mean it as an insult to you.”

I mean it as an insult to Wen Junhui, goes unspoken. Minghao narrows his eyes and tries to remember why this boy has been badgering him since the beginning of the term. He follows him during the day, sharing two of his five classes but Minghao has ignored him very obviously in many kinds of manners that he was certain he would finally stop dogging after him.

Apparently not then.

“I just mean that he’s very loud and obnoxious. He’s always hanging off you like he has no sense of propriety and anyone with eyes can see that he annoys you,” he continues, too oblivious to have noticed that he has crossed into dangerous territory.

Minghao grits his teeth, eyes glancing over the boy’s shoulders to see Junhui standing a few feet away. This explains why the boy decided to badmouth him so suddenly at least. Not like it does him any favors.

“I don’t like you,” Minghao quips, uncaring of whether this will bruise the boy’s pride or ego. Whatever gets him to leave him alone is fine by him. “I will never like you. Talking shit about my boyfriend isn’t going to magically make me fall in love with you.”

The boy gapes at him, floundering about pitifully. “Your boyfriend? You mean you’re-?”

“Taken,” Minghao snaps. “I am with Wen Junhui and no one else. You would think after an entire semester of being ignored you would have taken a fucking hint already. But since you’re so fucking dense, I’m gonna spell it out for you.

“I am going to marry Wen Junhui. Don’t talk to me or the love of my life ever again,” Minghao concludes.

The boy splutters as Minghao shoves his things back into his bag, standing up and rushing off towards Junhui’s side. He takes the older man’s hand and leads them out of the lecture hall, passing their professor in the hallway. Minghao doesn’t stop though.

“I didn’t know we were getting married. When were you gonna tell me?” Junhui pipes up once they have exited the building.

Minghao walks to the quad, intertwining his fingers with Junhui’s. “I just did.”

Junhui laughs behind him. “Is that your way of proposing?”

Minghao shrugs.

“Hm,” Junhui hums. “Guess I have to accept then.”

Even though Minghao is still angry about what just happened, he stops and turns around to face Junhui anyway. Fury is pumping in his veins but it doesn’t stop him from grabbing Junhui’s shoulder and pulling him close to kiss him.

He’s certain that nothing ever will.

On Valentines Day I felt so soft and I wrote this in about an hour. Send help, I made myself cry writing this.

Pairing: Junhui x Minghao x Reader Genre: Fluffy af Word Count: 653 (short n sweet)

You find yourself awake in the middle of the night. The memory of your dream slips away from you like a river over a waterfall. You keep your eyes shut even though your mind is awake, trying to fall back into the peaceful slumber you were in. Your chest feels cold, the covers must have slipped down when someone moved in the night. Maybe that’s why you’re awake. You try to move a little, but all feeling has been lost in your right hand. You turn your head to the side and grudgingly open your eyes to find out why.

Your right arm is outstretched, Junhui is laying a little way from you with his back to you. He’s curled up under the blankets and his head rests on your forearm. On your other side you feel Minghao’s soft and even breathing on your neck, his arm across your chest and his hand cupping the side of your head. He’d fallen asleep playing with your hair and now it’s tangled in your locks. You sigh softly and lean your head against Minghao’s, waiting to fall back to sleep if you can. The light from the full moon shines down on the house across the road. The sheer curtains flutter in the breeze and you shiver. Winter is near.

Junhui rolls over and his arm falls across your waist. Sensing warmth he pulls himself close to you. In his half-awake state he mumbles something before resting his head on your shoulder. His soft hair smells like a fruity mixture of berries and citrus. After a few minutes he sighs and intertwines his legs with yours. He must have woken up, just like you, because of the cold. It’s only just light enough in the room for you to see Junhui’s hand move from your waist up to stroke Minghao’s cheek. His hand then trails down Minghao’s neck to his shoulder and down to where your hand is wrapped around his upper arm. He squeezes it slightly before moving his head to sleepily kiss your cheek. You turn your head and look into his dark eyes. He raises an eyebrow, a little surprised to find you also awake. His sleepy smile shines in the moonlight that seeps into your room.

The blankets have slipped from the younger boy’s shoulder as well and he shivers as a cold breeze floats through the room. Junhui’s eyes move from yours to Minghao’s face. You turn your head in the direction he’s looking. Minghao is still soundly asleep. You move your hand up his arm, his skin is cold and covered in goosebumps. Junhui lifts the blankets back up to cover the younger boy’s bare shoulders and back before stroking his dark hair.

Minghao sighs and his hand wraps around the back of your neck. He adjusts himself so that he’s half laying on top of you, his leg over yours and his chest pressed against your side. You feel his warm breath on the crook of your neck. Minghao’s warmth, combined with the blankets Junhui covered you both with provide you with the comfort you needed. It feels like you’d just sunk into a hot bath. Junhui’s rubs the younger boy’s back with his hand, trying to transfer some warmth. You kiss Minghao’s forehead softly while he continues to sleep peacefully.

You turn your head and let it fall to the side. Your forehead rests against Junhui’s and you smile sleepily at him. He tilts his head up and your lips connect. You stay like this for several seconds before he slowly pulls away and returns to his original position. He sighs softly and murmurs something that sounds like “I love you,” before closing his eyes.

You watch him for a minute before letting your own eyes, heavy from sleepiness, flutter closed. You listen to both boys almost synchronised breathing before falling into a deep and warm sleep.

Evermorrow - anyone remembers this? because I do and I love it, and I love the characters I've turned them into, and I have the first few chapters written, and then what I lovingly call chapter 50, which, hopefully, won't actually be chapter 50 but it's gonna be later in the story because the reader needs to be pretty close with Jun for things to make sense and Hao and Woozi and DK will finally show up, and then around what I call chapter 60 there's Vernon - and him and the reader will meet Hoshi and Mingyu... and I got this thing mostly all thought out but writing is hard and takes time and I wanna write other things as well but I love this so much :((

...this doesn't actually have a name but it's save in my docs as XenoDroid... - a gift from myself to myself, very niche and nobody will care about it but it's almost 20k words now and it was supposed to be just one smutty one-off but it has chapters and a lil' bit of plot and there's no smut yet even though I have that scene literally burned inside my mind and Yonghoon (Onewe) is a xenomorph alien-human hybrid who can think and speak but is also very animalistic and Kihyun (MonstaX) is an android who's besties with the reader but also befriends Yonghoon behind their back and hhhnnnngggg :(((

How Jun found himself in a situation like this was beyond him. It was very cliche and he never thought life would ever play out that way for him, no matter how cringeworthy his pick up lines were.

His current circumstance is as surreal as any commonplace romantic tragedy.

He had two best friends: Minghao, someone he's had in his life since childhood, and Meili, the girl he's been in love with since high school. Together they battled against tough times. Together, they created unforgettable memories of bliss. Together, they got into their desired college.

They built themselves up together...and Jun felt as though he would ultimately be the one to shatter everything.

He felt selfish for wanting her attention only on him but he also felt ashamed for hating the object of his crush's affections - Minghao.

The rage within him was unreasonable because Minghao had been there through thick and thin, he's the most amazing friend Jun could ever ask for. Without him, Jun wouldn't have taken on dance and...he would never have met Meili.

During the entirety of high school, Jun had strived to capture her eye the way Minghao effortlessly did. In his own way, Jun disguised his intimate emotions behind seemingly innocuous skinship with a touch that always lingered a second too long, selfless gestures that didn't always benefit him and playfully making teasing comments that he was sure made his emotions clear.

She was blinded though. Blinded by the imperfect perfection that Minghao was. Everything about him was perfect and the only stubborn blemish staining his golden reputation was the fact that he continuously remained ignorant to Meili's fondness.

Now that years had gone by, Jun hoped that he would've gotten over his feelings but her charm was shining brighter than ever now that she was a young woman in her early twenties.

He knew that he had to end things but he just couldn't...

However, it wasn't until she brought up the terrifying idea of having him help her make Minghao jealous, did he finally decide to ask his best friend to accept Meili's affections as a way of liberating him of his own regretful feelings.

He was just so sick of the pathetic situation he was in, but a conversation that was supposed to solve everything only made things worse. It began and ended on harsh tones from both ends.

They had never fought this intensely before but they had to keep Meili content for her birthday party and sucked it up.

To Minghao, Meili was just a little sister, he hadn't and doesn't believe that he will ever develop any romantic feelings for her because, to him, there was only Jun.

It was wrong, he knew that, but, sometimes, the wrong things were the ones that felt the most right. They shared a connection and bond that was stronger than family and he couldn't understand why Jun didn't see that. The one thing he understood, however, was that Jun was desperately in love with Meili and what was unfortunately for the both of them was that she seemed to be in love with him instead.

The night Jun tried to set things straight, Minghao revealed that he had knowledge of Meili's emotions, a fact that enraged him. They went on to argue and he could tell that Jun was desperate to relieve his infatuation for Meili.

Reluctantly, Minghao declined with the simple reasoning of not having any mutual emotions. Painfully, he watched as his best friend and love broke down, almost becoming hysteric.

"I can't stand seeing you like this..."

"Then why don't you just ask her out already?! Please Minghao, I can't take this anymore!"

"I already told you that I can't."

"Why?!"

"Because I don't love her!" 'I love you...'

"I can't believe how selfish you're being right now!"

"Selfish? Me? That's rich coming from the guy that's forcing his friend to go out with someone he doesn't like just so he could finally relieve himself!"

"You know what? Fuck you Minghao!"

"Fuck you too!"

It ended with harsh tones but also harsh tears.

That was several days ago though, and, right now, it was Meili's birthday, they had to make sure that she was blind to their fight. In spite of that motive staying strong for the most part, Jun could only take so much.

"Hold my hand so he gets jealous." it was more of a demand than a request and as they stood in full view of Minghao, Jun brushed her inching hand away.

"Don't touch me. We're fighting."

"What? Why?" he only walked away as she followed him out, "Jun! Are you going to tell me anything?" she gently pressed.

Sucking in a breath, he wore his heart on his sleeve, he confessed everything.

He talked on and on about how he was entranced by her, how he dreamt of holding her dainty hands, how he yearned to kiss her cherry-red strawberry-sweet lips.

There was a blissful faintness that came after and if he knew that confessing would feel so liberating, he would've done so years ago.

It wasn't until he looked up and saw the sympathetic look on her face that he remembered the reason behind his fright, however. The reality he was so desperate to avoid was coming true.

"...I'm so sorry Jun..."

"...don't worry about it," he choked, "go off and enjoy yourself, it's your birthday."

After watching her walk away, he took the time to reflect.

Just five small minutes turned into a long half hour of contemplation.

Inside, Minghao assumed that Jun had told Meili his secret of knowing her feelings as she gravitated towards him the instant she re-entered with a sombre look. Apologising in his own way, he invited her to dance with hopes of her depressed expression lifting but there was no change.

Deciding to finally give in, sacrifice his potential happiness for hers and finally setting his best friend free, Minghao invited her for lunch.

"Just you and me..."

"Does this mean..." her eyes glowed with hope as he smiled weakly. Mistaking the weakness as timidity, she rose up to capture his lips in her own.

There was no point in resisting, he never had a chance with Jun anyway. Kissing her cold lips back with a stiff pucker, he closed his eyes to the teary, red and swollen muddy pair that looked on from the sidelines.

He hated seeing him like that...
