Confirmed Pansexuals – Twisted Fate

Twisted Fate was always speculated to be part of the LGBTQ+ community due to his, uh, flamboyancy. The sentiment that he felt something more for Graves was always there, portrayed in their stories through regret, friendship, and loyalty. The Boys and Bombolini color story officially confirmed him as queer, making TFGraves the faces of Pride 2022. This year, he was also seen with the pansexual flag in official pride art, with Riot finally labeling him. It's worth noticing a cute detail (that I doubt was intentional) where his card deck's colors form the colors of his flag!

Confirmed Queers – Ahri, Ekko, Evelynn, Ezreal, Kayn, Nidalee, Renata Glasc, Samira, Taric, Udyr

Ok, this is a long category. Here we have every champion we know for sure is queer, either through external confirmation (Ekko, Ezreal, Kayn, Renata Glasc, Taric), in-game dialogue (Nidalee, Samira, Udyr), or basic lore (Ahri, Evelynn). Let's start with the first group.

Throughout the first half of 2020, Riot released multiple chapters of a Pulsifire color story focused on Ezreal. It explored his relationships with numerous champions of the universe, but especially Ekko. The subtext was strong in this one, and the writer later took to Twitter to talk about how tough it was to have queer stories be censored when working for IPs, not so subtly mentioning Ezreal and Ekko after doing so. Even though Riot might not have agreed with making the Ezko relationship undeniably romantic, their love for one another is still an important part of the story, not to mention that it was the creator's intended vision to begin with. 

Renata Glasc was confirmed as sapphic by one of her creators when sharing concept art of her design. Checking the link to the original post, they seem to have deleted the excerpt that mentions it, but people took screenshots before they edited it, most likely because of Riot. Taric, on the other hand, has been speculated to be queer since forever, although the motives are not that pure. Many people saw this hairless, beautiful man that likes jewels and was like, "Huh, that sounds kinda gay," which was the common dudebro mentality of the fandom at the time of his release that caused a lot of homophobia within the player base (more than usual). They weren't wrong, seeing as Riot did include Taric in official 2023 pride art, but he was not seen wearing or holding any flags. After all, it would make sense that he likes everything—and everyone—beautiful. But either way, both Taric and Renata are non-specified queers.

Shieda Kayn is a weirder case. I thought a lot about whether I should even include him in this category at all. There are many accounts of people affirming one of Kayn's writers pictured him as having fluid sexuality, but since then, wherever it was posted, it's gone now. I do believe it since we can still find Reddit threads on the subject, but the original source is nowhere to be found. I still decided to put him here, but take it with a grain of salt.

Moving on to our next category, we have Nidalee, Samira, and Udyr. Samira flirts more than once with Elegant Edge in Legends of Runeterra, and her attraction for her is not subtle. As far as I'm aware, she's never expressed interest in men, but we can't say for sure whether she's bi, pan, or gay. Nidalee and Udyr have had speculated romantic interests in other champions for a while now. Nidalee with Neeko, Udyr with Lee Sin. Nidalee and Neeko's story was first portrayed as one-sided, with Neeko rejected by her friend, prompting them to part ways. On the other hand, the addition of both champions to Legends of Runeterra explored their relationship once again, with the two reuniting and Nidalee finally realizing she did love Neeko and simply didn't know how to deal with it all those years ago. A love song, Shine On, even accompanied the update, which narrates their story beautifully. They have many romantic voice lines now, both in LoR and League.

With Udyr's rework, people started realizing he digs Lee Sin through voice lines expressing how he misses his "old friend" and that he's "loved twice, left twice" (which applies to his relationship with Lee Sin). Besides, his design includes memorabilia he exchanged with Lee Sin when they parted ways. It is also important to mention he's had a wife before, so he swings both ways. I think the context gives more than enough clues for us to safely say Udyr is queer. 

Ahri and Evelynn are spirits/demons that prey on their victims (regardless of gender) through charm and seduction. Ahri is essentially a succubus, and Evelynn is the Demon of Agony, with desire and lust being important parts of their characters. It is also worth noting that Evelynn is genderfluid/agender, taking the form of anyone (or anything) that might lure her victims. So their lore essentially confirms them as not straight and not cis (on Evelynn's case, at least).

Recently I’ve received some asks about events/weeks in the Tolkien fandom, so I thought I’d compile a list of those that I know about. This is not exhaustive, and dates are subject to change by the organizers of these events!

Other blogs you can check out are @tolkieneventsblog and @tolkienfandomevents, though I’m not sure how active those are. The @silmarillionwritersguild Discord also has a channel dedicated to signal boosts for all sorts of Tolkien-related & general fandom happenings, which is another excellent way to keep up with fandom goings-on.

the thing about the whole "i like your shoelaces" deal is that you can just do that to someone in real life.

once, in 2020, i overheard a classmate giggling to their friend about rabies pride, so the next time we spoke i hit em with that classic presidential shoelaces prompting. they actually kind of collapsed physically, it was great. ive made maybe 7-8 proper attempts so far with a solid ~50% success rate.

Martha-Ann Alito, wife of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, is incensed about seeing rainbow Pride flags during Pride Month, according to a new recording obtained by Rolling Stone. If it were up to her, she would be flying a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag in response. Or she might design her own flag, one sporting the Italian word for “shame.”  In recent weeks, Martha-Ann Alito has been at the center of a national firestorm over two flags seen flying at their residences that have been associated with right-wing movements that question the legitimacy of the results of the 2020 election. Justice Alito has blamed his wife for flying those flags — and rebuffed calls from Democratic lawmakers to recuse himself from upcoming decisions in cases related to the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Like her husband, Mrs. Alito is unbowed by the criticism and controversy — as she makes clear in comments recorded by liberal documentary filmmaker Lauren Windsor. Windsor, posing as a Christian conservative, spoke at length with Mrs. Alito at a dinner reception hosted by the Supreme Court Historical Society last week. Windsor attended the dinner as a dues-paying member and bought a ticket; a colleague joined her.

Rolling Stone first reported on Windsor’s conversation with Justice Alito on Monday. While several outlets have recently relayed stories of Martha-Ann’s tense interactions with neighbors — apparently in response to a sign opposing Donald Trump — Windsor’s recording presents the justice’s wife in her own words. The audio, provided exclusively to Rolling Stone, paints a picture of a right-wing ideologue that matches with the private reputation that Mrs. Alito has developed in the Republican Party and judicial social circuits in the D.C. area and beyond.

In the most jarring moment in the recording, Windsor attempts to pose the same prompt that she presented to Justice Alito, about how, in order to take America back to “a godly place,” conservatives need to win. She doesn’t complete the thought before Mrs. Alito starts complaining about having to see rainbow Pride flags in June, Pride month.

“You know what I want?” Mrs. Alito says. “I want a Sacred Heart of Jesus flag, because I have to look across the lagoon at the Pride flag for the next month.” Referencing her husband, Mrs. Alito says, “He’s like, ‘Oh, please don’t put up a flag.’ I said, ‘I won’t do it because I am deferring to you. But when you are free of this nonsense, I’m putting it up and I’m gonna send them a message every day, maybe every week, I’ll be changing the flags.’ They’ll be all kinds. I made a flag in my head. This is how I satisfy myself. I made a flag. It’s white and has yellow and orange flames around it. And in the middle is the word ‘vergogna.’ ‘Vergogna’ in Italian means shame — vergogna. V-E-R-G-O-G-N-A. Vergogna.”  “Shame, shame, shame on you,” she adds. (Last year, the Supreme Court’s conservative supermajority ruled that businesses can discriminate against LGBTQ customers.) In other points of the conversation with Windsor, Martha-Ann Alito agrees there is no negotiating with the radical Left. She claims “the Femnazis believe that [Justice Alito] should control me,” adding: “So they’ll go to hell. He never controls me.”

[...] Mrs. Alito has for years harbored a disdain and bitterness towards others in the D.C. elite, whom she has bashed for supposedly excluding or shunning her and her husband, and for being too mean about them and their unabashedly conservative beliefs. Sources add that Mrs. Alito also has a longstanding reputation in influential GOP circles for ranting about politics, the culture wars, the Left, and the burning grudges she’s nursed since at least the George W. Bush era.  

Rolling Stone’s report on Martha-Ann Alito’s unhinged temper tantrum about the LGBTQ+ Pride Flag and her whining about “woke liberals” is something to behold. She is just as much as a fanatical right-wing extremist as her husband Samuel is.

He doesn’t make a habit of it. Which is good. You’re not sure you could take it if this feeling were a regular occurrence.

“I’m alright.” He sounds sheepish, from over your shoulder.

You whip around to look at him as soon as you hear his voice. “Daniel...”

“No I am, I promise.” He’s limping a bit but tucks you under his arm and kisses the top of your head. “Just totally lost the back end, we fucked the setup, I think. I hit my knee and there’s a wicked bruise, but I’m good. They let me out and said I can just take painkillers.”

You wrap your arms around him and squeeze. “Glad you’re okay.” You breathe.

“How are you doing, love?” He peels the covers from over your head, endlessly gentle. “Feeling any better?”

You chance cracking your eyes open and realise he drew the blackout blinds over before pulling the covers off your head. “Head still hurts., a bit.” It takes your brain a second to catch up. “Wait, when did you…”

He grins as he sinks down onto the bed, careful not to jostle you. “You were dead to the world when I got back, I thought I’d let you rest.”

You try moving and find it doesn’t make you want to throw up anymore, then drag yourself closer to rest your head on his chest, burrowing into his hoodie. “Missed you.”

“Lil old me?” He drawls, definitely trying to coax a laugh out of you (it works). “I should be so lucky.”

“It’s true.” You say, aiming for demure. He’s already ruining it with barely contained giggles. “Days and days I sat here, wondering when my handsome cowboy would return. So much I fell ill, the most terrible migraine.” You take the hand from his chest and put it palm up on your own forehead, feigning a swoon.

He’s laughing outright now, catches your hand and settles you mostly on top of him. “Well, nothin’ to worry about now darlin’. I’m here.” He hums against your mouth when you lean down to kiss him.

“m’hungry.”

“I made dinner.”

You kiss him again, day long migraine fog leaving. “You’re my favourite.”

Belgian Grand Prix (post race), 2022

“There you...” You stop in your tracks, realise he’s alone and the lights are off, just the outline of his back (still in fireproofs) visible in the light from the door you’ve opened. “Daniel? Are you..?”

You let yourself in and feel your way across the small room to him, heart clenching when you realise his shoulder is shaking under your hand. “Danny...” You start, then you feel more than see him shake his head.

“I just...” His voice sounds raw and you wonder for a second if he and Michael fought, but you would have heard, this place is so small and on top of each other. “I wanted it to be like a big fuck you, right. But it was just...” He sniffs as you settle next to him, arms snaking around his waist. “Kind of pathetic. I tried so fucking hard, like...”

“I know, my love, I know you did.” You make your voice as soft as you can, like it can settle around him like a blanket, take away the pain in his voice. The doorhandle rattles and you only turn your head towards the door as the light starts to appear when it opens. “No.”

It shuts again instantly, and he tries to laugh. “Scary voice.”

You burrow as close to him as you can. “Everyone who matters knows how hard you’ve tried, okay? I know it doesn’t make all the...noise, any quieter. But...”

“It doesn’t matter.” He says quietly. “It is what it is.”

“Of course it matters, Daniel.” You reiterate quietly. “If you’re gonna be throwing around cliches maybe start with ‘you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink’. Y’know, if the horse is a team, and leading it is giving useful feedback, and the water is making a good car.”

He laughs wetly, one hand playing with the silver bracelet that matches his favourite Tiffany’s necklace. You stopped differentiating jewellery years ago, it all sits in the same box on the dressing table at home now. “Message received loud and clear.”

You push your head against his, unbothered by his sweatiness. “It’s okay that it hurts, too. It always does, when you-“

“Try your best but you don’t succeed?”

“Did you just...” You can almost feel him trying not to laugh. “Did you just quote Coldplay at me?”

“Who could say.”

“Daniel, I was trying to have a supportive partner moment and you’ve just quoted Coldplay lyrics at me.”

The laughter spills over and he brings his arms around you, pressing his face into your neck. “You’re right, that’s unforgivable.”

“You’re so pretty.” He says right near your ear, hand curling around your waist.

You’ve managed to avoid FIA end of season functions for the most part, because Daniel doesn’t particularly enjoy them. But Christian had insisted, this year. “I feel like I’m too old for this and it shows.” You say back around a smile for the cameras swirling around you all.

“Nah,” he puts his mouth close to your ear and you can feel how cheeky his smile is (dread the day that Elio or Allegra work out how to master the same cheeky grin), “Big MILF vibes, I rate it.”

Max, of all people, overhears and they set each other off laughing, even as you roll your eyes and let Geri pull you in for a photo with her.

It’s boring, mostly, even if you’re grateful for any occasion which gets Daniel in a suit (particularly the green Gucci one, still love it as much as you had in the first place). The food is nice and the wine is good, although you’re not particularly looking forward to pumping at the end of the night just to throw it away. It’s a rare night without the kids, Daniel’s parents happy for the excuse to travel and babysit (even if they’re about to have a full summer of all of you).

It’s nice actually, after a couple of years of not being at every race – and preoccupied with small children when you were – to catch up with people, drink and dance and be merry. You’re sitting down with a water though, when Daniel approaches.

He grins at you and rests his hands on your shoulders. “All good, bub?”

You let your heel dangle off your foot, stretching it out with a groan. “I’m out of practice, my feet are killing me.”

Daniel laughs, digging his fingers into your shoulder muscles. “I think we have more than fulfilled our obligations and we can go, Actually. If you wanted to head off.” He offers his hands and uses them to pull you to your aching feet. “There’s a gigantic bath tub and a very nice bottle of wine at the hotel for us, I think.” He says as he kisses your cheek.

“Well, now you definitely have my interest.”

It takes another half an hour to do the rounds saying goodbye (you might manage to slip out easily enough, but Daniel is a capital P Presence in a room), so by the time you’re at the top of the stairs outside your feet are throbbing again. You might groan a bit.

“Here.” His suit jacket lands on your shoulders and Daniel stands in front of you expectantly. “Piggy back.”

You can’t help but laugh. “No, you’ll trip and we’ll fall.”

“That’s the most insulting thing anyone’s ever said to me.” He huffs. “C’mon. I got you.”

“If our children end up orphans I’m going to make your afterlife hell.” You threaten.

He laughs loudly as you slip off your shoes and jump onto his back. Daniel hooks his arms under your thighs and you can feel the smugness radiating off his face. “Ye of little faith.”

“You’ve made it one step.”

To his credit he makes it down all of the steps safely, and you’re both laughing by the bottom, sore feet forgotten at the prospect of the rest of the night to yourselves.

1) i haven't watched much of the criminal minds reboot. i think i watched the first two episodes? but i don't like it. i think the reboot lays into the things i don't like about the show (gory deaths, really unhinged murderers, poor representations of people with mental health issues) while ignoring things i do like about the show (steady character development and family time, morgan, hotch, and reid being there >:( and an interesting analysis into what makes normal people do bad things, not what makes people run multi-level marketing murder schemes[???]). but i also have not seen enough of it to justify any stronger opinion than "i don't like reboots and this will not be an exception"

I am RIGHT THERE with you friend. I think the reboot has really destroyed a lot of the characters (namely Garcia who is unrecognizable in terms of characterisation in CME) and especially in regards to this season, they made an unsub a main cast member?! So we have SOOOOO much of Elias Voit and so LITTLE of the characters we're here to see. I would trade all of his screentime for one look into what Luke and Emily do outside of the office tbrh (yes, the promo for this week has Emily at home for the first time in the whole reboot, but that's beside the point). I'm def not a fan of CME and I wish the show would have just ended in 2020 and that was that. But since it didn't and because my soul is eternally bound to this fandom, here we are. Thank god for fanfic.

I've been reading my book copies of Fooled Around! I'm on the final book (I split the series into 4 books) and I'm trying to make it last as long as possible. I hope Columbia students are as dedicated to their studies as they are to LARPing.  I doubt it.  They seem to not know much of anything.  Portraying aggressive foes of Israel confirms such.  Refusing to move from ground that was never theirs shows commitment to the cause.

College brats crave pretending they’re something other than political science majors doomed to beg Joe Biden for debt evasion.  A university that wanted to continue to pretend to be taken seriously would deny outdoor squatters the right to Sha Na Na presale access codes.

Instead, expect a flurry of senior theses based on how leaving plants unwatered in an Amsterdam Avenue apartment for three or four days allowed the non-Israel parts of the Middle East to finally prosper.  This is the school where a showy phony lied about being raped so she’d have an excuse to drag a mattress around campus as a regrettable standard of performance art, which makes today’s showy truancy unsurprising.

Acting violent while pretending to not be reflects a wholesale refusal to interact with reality.  True cosplayers act just like their beloved terror cause.  Man, they are focused on playing along.  Their habit of harassing Jews shows solidarity.  Claiming they were the victims all along is what the keffiyeh represents.

The sort of students you’re glad you never drank with get to pretend they’re doing something righteous with a lawn campout.  Guilt over unbelievable privilege leads to fretting about the less fortunate.  Enrolling in a moral vacuum prompts sympathy for terror instead of victims.

Columbia students think The Diary of Anne Frank has a happy ending.  Confused reading list participants know what they would’ve done during World War II, namely defend Normandy from invaders.  The claim that 2020’s city torchers were the equivalent of Allied soldiers got sillier just when you thought that was impossible.

These advanced times sure are unenlightened, at least for those at the costliest and therefore best colleges.  Society regresses without learning from primitive times.  Let’s say there’s precedent involving campus radicals defending terror movements.  Collegiate nitwits once again romanticize ghastly assaults against decent people in respectable societies.  A useful degree would feature learning how many of them are not.

Praising the terror side is how the smuggest brats from your high school class battle for the underprivileged.  Hamas engages in rather intense bullying they’d surely condemn if it involved misgendering.  Total non-anti-Semites just happen to be ganging up on the one Jewish state.  Tormenters get every last detail wrong, including which side features people who want to be left alone.

Students fume about a sliver of land that at its narrowest is smaller than the island upon which Columbia lies is long.  It’s not just the lack of real estate that makes Israel an underdog.

The one Middle East country that would tolerate idling undergraduate uselessness can afford to on account of that whole natural rights bit.  Citizens could claim it was awful without consequence.  Go ahead and hold a pride parade in Tel Aviv.  I’d envision a permit tie-up for anyone trying the same in Gaza. Rather confused observers add exercising the right to self-defense to their appalling list of reasons they loathe Jews.

Idle grifters with student IDs get to pretend they’re standing up for a noble cause.  The side against Israel is way less nicer, and underdevelopment must be the fault of oppression.  That sort of logic is common amongst attendees at more prestigious schools.  Ignoring what happened at the music festival to people about the same age helps maintain consistency.

The Morningside Heights campus of Hamas University is a popular study abroad program.  But enrollees can only harvest so much knowledge.  An internship would help.  They can learn from their heroes.  Columbia campers should transfer to Gaza colleges.  There’s a hospital on every corner, which means there must be at least that many schools.  You know it’s bad when the rest of 2024 New York City seems sane by comparison.

Class is boring.  Learn about the real world out on the Columbia quadrangle.  It sure is fun camping out while shrieking insults at civilization.  Real-world experience is supposed to be school’s goal.  Professional terrorists blaming success is the default Columbia student ideology in practice.  Feeling insulated on campus leads to guilty role play.  Flaunt uselessness in the name of awfulness.  This is the best time to dine at Katz’s, as none of the uneducated students will be there.

Hi it’s Time for a Upgrade!

Hello everyone, I don’t even know how many of you are still invested in my stories and it’s my own fault! In order to make myself happy and involved with my writing again I am rebranding.  Those who are still very much invested with my writing still Thank you and fear not, my main series ‘The way he looks at you’ and ‘oh come on Bella’ are coming back, they’re just under editing!

Now time for me to reintroduce myself, Hi I’m Kenzie! I originally started this blog back in 2020 when I needed an escape from a really bad situation. I sought comfort in fictional characters and the community was really welcoming even though I was very shy, so I rarely reached out to any mutuals and for that I regret. That being said I myself have grown up and my tastes have changed, so things on my blog are changing with it. This is honestly a great one for now because it's not even Christmas, I guarantee I'll write more before the year is out.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

Honestly-- how much I wrote. And I mean this as more than just "oh I hit a surprising number of words" it's like... HOW I wrote so much.

I don't think I particularly grew as a writer this year. In previous years I have participated in challenges and honed my craft and really worked hard to make quality writing. Writing... kind of hurt like that. There was a lot of stress to it. I had been asked by friends or acquaintances on more than one occasion why I wrote as a hobby if it stressed me out so much.

And this year... well I won't say I never stressed myself out. The initial update schedule for Poison Paradise was insane. I don't know how I got inspiration to write a chapter a day for that many days. I am glad that scaled back a little.

But at the same time... even without looking, I guarantee you that I've surpassed 2020's word count while holding a full time job. And with hardly ever writing for an official challenge (Albert's birthday was my choice. There were a couple of very fun tumblr prompts & an angst week thing...but like. I have ALWAYS wanted to write hanahaki disease for someone & finally had a chance. And the Allou Trimester & Louiliam2023Winter at the end of the year here are extremely loose challenges with very few restrictions for pairings I would have written anyway.. and when the Louiliam fic ended up having a sherliam element & broke the rules I just.. didn't add it to the event and wrote what I wanted anyway).

Anyway, it was different from the way I treated challenges in previous years-- I wasn't stressed about it. I was having fun. Which is.. ultimately, what a hobby is supposed to be, right?

My word count has to be directly tied to the amazing, positive people I have met in the last 10 months -- who let me be my authentic self and still come back for more. I have never been more unhinged, written more dead dove, let loose like this. I've never been more freakish; and at the same time I have been gifted with the most incredible outpouring of kind words, comments, support, tumblr interactions, and readership. I cannot possibly thank this community enough for letting me thrive like this.

I feel free. I know what I want from writing and it's not perfection anymore. It is to float around on the internet and find my people, bouncing ideas around. It's like I've found my niche as a person.

And the hyperfixation might not always be yuumori. I just binged the rest of One Piece and caught back up and OH DO I HAVE IDEAS, and a friend is starting to drag me into Hetalia somehow, because "I would do good there" or something, although I'm not sure yet if I'll want to write for it. Wherever my interests go though, I feel like I can absolutely carry this energy with me into the future, even in different fandoms where it's harder to "make it." Because I have this sense of "self" and "belonging" and "worth" and "pride" that I had lost for a very long time.

Even if I write less in 2024, if I can keep this confidence moving forward, I will be happy.

Two dads

Sorry to all my glee fic readers who had to wait literally 16 days for a new glee oneshot in the pride prompts event.

Nonetheless! Guess which couple canonically were expecting a kid in the last episode and I decided to explore how they are as dads? ;)

Their daughter is unnamed though, because I couldn't come up with a good name. It's a pretty short oneshot anyway, because most of these are between 500-2000 words long.

The little girl woke up crying. She was a baby, so this is how she woke up most days.

Her two dads were quick to come into the room.

“We’re here, darling!” Kurt said soothingly. “Don’t you worry.”

“We’ve prepared a marvelous breakfast for you, princess,” Blaine said. “But first, we need to get you ready!”

“Yes!” Kurt lifted her out of her crib. “As we all can smell, you need a change out of your morning diaper. Have you let it all out or is there more? We don’t want to waste too many cloth diapers, it’s too much laundry as it is.”

The baby gurgled.

“I’d take that as you’ve emptied it all out.”

“Good, then you have plenty of room for breakfast!” Blaine said. 

The men only had cloth diapers for their girl. Better for the environment, and they save so much money! Plus, the cloth diapers were really pretty.

“Tell me, your highness,” Blaine said, “Which diaper would you like to wear this morning?”

Their daughter kind of moved her foot slightly, which they interpreted as her pointing at a pink pair.

“Pink is an excellent choice!”

They put her down in the high chair.

“Bon appétit!” Blaine exclaimed. “I made some scrambled eggs for the little lady!”

The baby shrieked and flapped her little hands.

“Let me assist you,” Kurt cooed. “Open your mouth!” He fed her the scrambled eggs. Both him and Blaine could tell she loved it. 

“How do you rate this cuisine?” Blaine asked.

“Weh!” their daughter exclaimed and held up both her hands.

“Full stars! Woah, I’m so honored!” He pretended to bow in front of her, causing her to giggle.

After breakfast, it was time to go out for a walk. Kurt strapped their daughter onto a baby carrier. ”Now you just sit there enjoying the view, my love.”

”I’m jealous, I wish I could sit in a baby carrier,” Blaine said.

”And she’s probably jealous you can walk,” Kurt joked. 

They walked out around the park, enjoying the weather. Some people stopped them just to comment about their cute baby.

Some people asked which one was the father, and got quite a surprise when they answered ”both!”. Apparently, even in the 2020s people were surprised about two dads…

After half an hour, they noticed the baby was getting a bit cranky.

”It’s time for your pre-lunch nap, isn’t it?” Kurt asked. 

”Kurt, she’s not supposed to nap for another hour.”

”Hm, then why is she cranky?”

They decided it was best to head back home, so they could calmly help their daughter with whatever was bothering her. 

She had been growing increasingly more cranky by the minute, and the men almost felt the need to run home to figure it out.

Finally, they reached their house. The second they came inside, Blaine lifted her out of the baby carrier.

”There, there, princess… what’s wrong?”

She just cried and made grunting sounds.

”Maybe she’s just feeling overwhelmed,” Kurt suggested. 

Blaine nodded. He patted her back. 

”Yeah, sometimes being outside is a lot… but it’s ok… just let it all out.”

Right then, she very loudly started to fill her diaper. 

Kurt and Blaine stared at each other in silence for a few seconds. 

”Well, she seemed to have let it all out,” Kurt joked, and both laughed slightly.

They went to the changing table. As they laid her down, she started to yawn.

”Maybe messing herself took a lot of energy out of her,” Kurt said.

”Yeah, I mean, sometimes it drains your energy,” Blaine replied. ”Maybe we could have her nap be a bit earlier.”

”Good idea. Little lady, what color of the diaper you’re gonna wear for nap time will you choose?”

”Eeh,” their daughter gurgled.

”Violet? Well, why not!” 

They put her down in her crib.

”What would miss like to hear as a lullaby?” Blaine asked. 

Their daughter seemed to be up for anything, as long as it soothed her to sleep.

So, her two dads sang her the first song that came to their minds. They hummed the melody, and smiled as they watched their little baby close her eyes and drift off to sleep.

”Have a nice nap,” Kurt whispered, kissing her on the forehead before the two walked out.

”Kurt?” Blaine asked, ”Will we continue to sing her a lullaby at every single nap time?” 

Kurt nodded. ”I hope so. I wanna sing to her every day… until she’s a moody teenager who asks us to stop.”

They laughed.

Luckily, their little angel would not be a teenager for many, many years, so they could look forward to a lot more lullabies to sing her to sleep with.

Forever ago when I was in high school, I was only out as gay at school with friends. And didn’t come out to family until later (Highschool for me was 2004-2008 Bush era. And though my family is and has been very liberal leaning, we were also raised catholic which definitely fueled my personal hesitation to come out at home. Spoilers alert when I told my mom it went hilariously well)

One day after school myself and a pair of friends were at the mall, and the three of us bought a three piece matching friendship necklace at Claire’s on clearance that said roughly Best (star charm), Friends(heart charm), Forever(rainbow charm)

(90% sure that was the breakdown important thing is my section of the necklace had a rainbow charm)

It was like the only rainbow thing I owned, and I would wear it sparingly cause wasn’t 100% out. I had left the necklace on at home and my sister immediately clocked it and pulled me aside and asked if I was gay.

It was a very brief side bar conversation, I was in the kitchen and she literally pulled me into another room and was like “u gay? Your wearing a rainbow necklace”

“Uh yeah”

“Ok cool”

I never did a big announcement to family. Starting with my sister (actually, one of my brothers might have been the first family to know followed then by my sister🤔)

I just told family in one on one conversations as it came up, and eventually even extended family just knew I was gay.

(When I told my mom, because of the way I nervously started the conversation, on the verge of tears saying “i have something important to tell you” she thought I was teen pregnant and when I said I was gay she was like that’s it? That’s fine!)

Anyway! In 2020 with the support of my wife I experimented with pronouns and found that in addition to she/her I really do vibe with he/him pronouns (🥰 I am both her wife and boyfriend and absolutely love being called either)

I really only use he/him privately online and at limited irl queer gatherings and haven’t explicitly told my family (There is a hesitation that family might not fully “get” use of he/him pronouns and for now I’d rather keep it away from them for the time being. At this point its less of a fear of rejection and more of a…I don’t know how that conversation is going to go, and that gives me anxiety to bring it up and start a conversation about it.)

We just had our local pride weekend and I was wearing a pair of black socks that had stripes of green purple white at the top of them 💚💜🤍 for genderqueer and did post a family picture of me my wife and our son at pride to FB (socks visible) not thinking anyone in my fam would clock it.

Got a text from my sister yesterday: “Random question. What are your pronouns?”

Which prompted a phone call (that went super well :3 🥰)

At first she thought they were non binary colors and googled to confirm, but saw that the colors didn’t match but “knew it meant something” and then asked my niece (gen z theater kiddo) what the those specific colors represented. (Lol like straight up queer pop quiz style “hey green white purple, what’s that flag? 🤣)

When the dreaded “what do you want me to use for you” came up (idk why so much anxious, it is very much use one or the other or a mix, i genuinely like and respond to both. the only strong feeling i have is please don’t directly ask me which to use, or why he/him in addition to she/her)

It was a very quick, “so i can still use she/her”

“Yep”

“You sure?”

“Yep”

“well if that changes, I’ll just keep an eye out for new colors”

“🥲💖” (which I found to be very sweet!)

On the one hand, part of me is like, ah history repeating itself, just tell family as it comes up.

But with Pride and (:3 my first!) Father’s day coming up I am tempted to make a FB post just to set the record straight on my pronouns but, (anxiety)

Its weird, like I don’t necessarily feel like I’m in the closet as much as I did with being gay in high school. I’m not afraid of someone finding out. I don’t think my pronouns are something that needs to be kept secret. If asked I am comfortable enough to respond to the question, but the thought of anoucing them publicly is just a big no-no. 🙃
