#just like everything that the Avatars do.
Noticed some fun stuff regarding the items in the glacetomb shop
First off. We have confirmed evidence of Khione who is the queen of the ice elves. The Elven account in the Tara and Aria's scrapbook <3 is obviously biased, but if we assume that it at least is accurately telling who died that means that Glace and Kyanos fought with the 'Guardian of Ice' Fimbul, the Queen of the elves Khione, and our mysterious third party Al---ch (Aliaech?).
The frost shatter spear description is prophesying a breaking of a frozen prison, and releasing of those trapped in a timeless void. Note the use of the word 'Awakening' in the title.
Then we have the Lumen Ice Shillelagh. Its described as a staff for sealing and for laying spirits to rest, but a Shillelagh is a walking stick that also functions as a weapon for dueling. Even more interesting than that discrepancy is that Glace's mysterious cryomancer student had to lay Glace to rest with the beasts she defeated in an eternal sleep. Glace is dead, or at least her spirit has definitely passed on because she's in the Ice Plane, but the tomb is a prison that is going to be awakened and Fimbul describes itself as forever living entity. Tara even notices that it has a connection to the Leylines of Lore.
Guys I don't think Glace actually won that battle.

atwow hot take:
if jake had said his "son for a son" shit out loud and spider had heard him, he would have been so beyond pissed, he would be seeing red.
spider loved his little siblings so much, neteyam included, even after they grew apart. he loved them like they were his own blood and protected them like they were too (we see a lot more of them together in the comics, where spider is the big brother without a doubt). neteyam's death most certainly rocked him hard, even if he hasn't really been able to show it (how could he? he's already going through all the shit with his dad and the RDA and their nonsense, he can't grieve around neytiri, he's just so tired after it all. he doesn't have the room or the energy to grieve yet)
so if jake had the audacity to say that to/around spider not even a few hours after he watched his little brother get shot after coming to save him, after he stared at the bullet hole in his back, after he watched him take his last breaths, after he watched the light leave his eyes, after he watched his little brother die for him; if he said that while his little brother's body lay in a pool of his own blood not even ten feet away, not even cold yet, blood still clinging to his chest, the scent of it still filling the air: he would have lost his shit.
because the disrespect for his brother is wild.
jake was an active player in spider's neglect and abuse for the last 16 years, he let it happen, he helped it happen. he tried to send spider with the humans, tried to take him away from his siblings, from the forests, from eywa to live with his foster family that didn't love him (not to mention Nash was an asswipe of epic proportions) and the RDA of all people. he had referred to spider as a stray animal since he was little. he was the reason spiders life was hell.
and after all that, years and years of putting him in shit positions and allowing him to suffer the fate of being forever unloved and uncared for (by an adult authority figure, cause I love the kids, but they don't make up for the gap left by a parent), this is what it took for jake to care about him? his little brother had to die in front of him first? he had to be traded out to fill the space of a corpse, to fill in the gap left by his little brother's death?
in canon, spider was in deep in shock with nothing to break him from it, he wasn't in the place to really think about any of it, and I'm sure we're gonna see this anger in the coming movies, but if jake had said it out loud, that would have been enough to snap spider right out of it, and he would have given jake a piece of his mind, I just know it.

Ok, but I've been having this tought for some time now and I gotta share it:
So Tsu'Tey is just casually having a convo w/someone in the human lab while simultaneously holding like a almost year-old Spider in his other arm who is peacefully playing with his braids and at some point he puts a braid in his mouth, with which Tsu'Tey is not bothered by cos he does so all the time, and yknow the little beads at the end of his braids? Well, when Spider pulls the braid out of his mouth THEY'RE GONE and Tsu somehow manages to notice that and they just stare at each other for a good couple of seconds before Tsu'Tey promptly starts yelling: "SPIT THEM OUT RIGHT NOW, DON'T YOU DARE SWALLOW THEM!" and trying to get the beads out of Spiders mouth. Eventually he manages to retrieve 2 out of 3 beads with Spider managing to swallow 1 and Tsu'Tey demands the scientists do some scans on him and such to make sure he's not gonna like, choke on it in his sleep. In the end the scientists couldn't get it out, Tsu is stressed and Spider is just happy to be there (but dw he prolly like poops it out later or smt 😅)
Tsu'tey is stressed but Spider was clearly hungry, what was the poor little love supposed to do? Starve? You can bet Tsu'tey isn't letting that kid anywhere near his braids again :D Absolutely LOVE this idea!!!
ALSO, the fact human babies learn but putting LOADS of random things in their mouths, which means Tsu'tey has to learn how to redirect him otherwise Spider will in fact ingest something he's not supposed to. Bonus points if Na'vi babies have some built in sense to know what is poisonous and what is not (they're aliens, it's not impossible). Whereas Tsu'tey is just infinitely stressed going "PUT THAT DOWN!" "SPIDER, NO!" "HAVE SOME YOVO FRUIT INSTEAD!" And the scientists all just watch in silence and awe as this eight foot something alien BOLTS across the compound to tackle an oblivious baby, who is lifting some kind of insect he found under someone's bunk bed up to his mouth. They don't call him Spider for nothing afterall.

I've seen a lot of people say that Zutara would just work in the live action if they eliminated Aang's crush on Katara in the first couple seasons and NO. no no no no NO. I want Zutara to happen as much as the next person, but I think Aang's crush should stay intact. If they include the want vs need plot line introduced in "The Guru" in book 2, it could be an easy way to launch some much needed character development for Aang. Having him struggle with letting go of an unreciprocated crush at the beginning of book 3 might actually be a jumping off point for what Bryke tried to do with his arc in the final book, making him seem wiser, more mature, and assertive without coming off as a complete jerk like he did in the animated series.

Lea… do you remember what a clear sky looks like at night?
Out in the countryside, no town or city nearby?
I hope one day you will…

Another post just reminded me of an important PSA
Sokka is a better Ron Weasley and Xander Harris than Ron Weasley and Xander Harris ever were
Katara is a better Hermione Granger and Willow Rosenberg than Hermione Granger and Willow Rosenberg ever were
Zuko is a better Draco Malfoy than Draco Malfoy ever was canonically, but Spike is pretty great, even though yes, okay, we know, Zuko's redemption arc will always be superior

You know, for as much as I didn't like all the romance soap opera drama and what happened with a lot of the ATLA cast in Legend of Korra, I can admit that just because it wasn't my thing and bothered me in a lot of instances doesn't make it necessarily bad per se. I just think there were some weird decisions character-wise
However. I did not like what they did with Wan and the Harmonic Convergence, and I am quite confident in saying that it thematically weakened the show and was a wasted opportunity to do something truly special with the concept of the Avatar itself

I lost all hope or trust for the 2024 live action ATLA when I heard talk of things happening in like episode 2 that originally took place in like ep 5 of the og show.
Any and all plot and character changes aside. The og atla, although having the old 20 ep season standard, is a decently fast-paced show. They literally go from the south poll to the North poll + detours in those 20 episodes.
I can't find it in me to believe that anyone could do any sort of justice to a story previously comprised of 20 distinct episodes in only 8 episodes.
I don't care that those episodes are, for some reason, the length of an overachieving short film (52mins)
I lose faith in something as soon as you start compressing storylines just for the sake of compressing things.

Watching Avatar the Last Airbender...
Politely reminded of the time people wanted my head because I said that ATLA ruined storytelling because some people can't fucking think critically of media before trying to tell you what's so good about it.
I LOVE AtLA! Adore it! But like.... A majority of people watched Zuko switch sides and said, "Damn... What if we redeemed ALL the villains?" Without realizing Zuko wasn't a true villain in need of redemption.
But... The Redemption Game isn't truly JUST the fault of AtLA... There was a shift in the Moral of the Story. Idk how to explain it bc I'm half asleep, but like...

I have mixed feelings all around about the live action atla but like honestly, I'm very disappointed in Zuko's scar. Where's the scar tissue, the disfigured eye lids, why is his eyebrow still there, where is the Drama of it all. Like it kinda just looks like they sprayed on a bit red makeup and half-assed some veins, put some prosthetics on his face plsss. (Edit: after further studying, I do see some bubbling of the skin so I will give them that, they tried in a way, but I still wish there was more going on) They want to be accurate to the original show and yet are too scared to make Zuko "unattractive" 🙄 He better be bald underneath that helmet.
