Girlies: Super torn between Shirayuki and Kageya. Everything about Shirayuki is straight up gorgeous and I absolutely LOVE all her outfits and hairstyles, esp the harem pants Sensei started drawing her in + I think her earrings are an amazing addition. Okay, so Kageya. There is just smt about Kageya's subtle beauty, is it the hair? maybe. The soft yet sussy look? probably. She just sticks out to me for some reason.

Babygirls Boys: Obi takes the cake cause he is just my fav type of anime guy. Dark hair, cat eyes and stylish. His color pallete is very nice too! Honorary mentions: Zen and Hisame. Zen is so eye catching and you can really tell he IS the Prince. And Hisame looks like noble-fied Obi. 10/10 smash.

Shin Megami Tensei IV has my favorite videogame soundtrack of all time

I may write a continuation for this analysis in the future bc I still want to conclude my thoughts but for now I hope u like it!" -elise realizing she left this in her drafts

It was long overdue that I wanted to talk about the music in this game.

Shin Megami Tensei IV’s soundtrack was a huge surprise to me – such as the game itself. It is initially presented as a more medieval-like world, set in the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado, which it didn’t bother me initially, just didn’t surprised me at first glance – but when its true colors started to show up – I realized it was something special. It borrows from my particular impressions, I didn’t pay attention to the music initially, such as the ‘Main Theme’, and ‘Premonition’, only noticing about the more fitting tracks for the medieval world, such as ‘Aquila Statue Plaza’ and ‘K’s Tavern’. Although ‘Self’ was able to make me immersed on the intro sequence, but not exactly foreshadowing the iconic and unique mixture of futuristic technology with the occult aesthetic that the series is known for – and what I would find out about just later. My experience with the MegaTen series until that point was Persona 3, Persona 4, and a little bit of Devil Survivor – and as much as these games has some of its dark moments – Shin Megami Tensei IV surprised me, because I honestly didn’t knew anything about that game and mainline SMT in general, I wasn’t that much aware about the setting and aesthetic – I only knew about the Order and Chaos philosophical conflict. I was initially playing the game as just one more regular medieval RPG – that unawareness really helped me to being immersed on what would come after.

The musical tension of facing a Boss

The end of the first chapter with Issachar and the Minotaur shown me the first impression of one of its unique aspects; the Boss Themes. Both Battle B1, the Mid-Boss Theme, and Battle B2, the Major-Boss Theme, just caught me completely off-guard, feeling dangerous, futuristic sounding-like, and at first glance; uncomfortable. Most things until that point presented the game with a specific aesthetic, and then had a tonal shift for me. As much as the game foreshadowed its more futuristic tech-based stuff, such as the AI Burroughs, I didn’t actually realized it, the game still didn’t caught my attention that much yet. When I listened to Battle B1 – I was, no joke – SUPER scared, as much as this sounds funny. The tone of the story at this point was already making me realize its true colors, I was completely set on the mood, so when the revelation of Issachar happened, I was feeling so, SO uncomfortable, and I loved it. At the time, I was playing the game on my Nintendo 3DS at a bus trip, at 3AM with everyone sleeping, everything but my 3DS’ screen was pitch black, and my headphones on a fairly good volume.

As much as I liked the regular battle themes, Battle B1 had a lot of elements that were able to perfectly fit the atmosphere of facing a demonic entity, and, in that specifically on that moment, someone that was once your best friend. The song is composed on a minor key, associated with melancholy, sorrow, but in that case, danger and urgency. The instrument that composes the melody on the intro is a Chime, in a fairly low octave, which is something not expected when using this instrument, making it sound eerie and uncanny. Right after followed by a saw-wave synthesizer on the main melody, the synth itself isn’t uncanny, but yet fierce, the melody itself ends up takes the role on making it sound imposing and eerie. Then a 303 sounding-like Synth steals the show on the main melody, people often call it ‘boing-boing’, which is quite fitting for how it sounds, that sound makes the song feel otherworldly, and again, really uncanny. The very last section takes everything back to the saw-wave synth, but now on a very slow, but imposing chord. Then the loop ends.

It has lots of things that I love about music, such as heavily Synth-based instruments, evoking both a retro style and a really amazing ambience to the streets of that post-apocalyptic Tokyo. With that said, what I loved the most about that soundtrack is that it had such a consistent identity of its own, with at the same time being so diverse, it manages to be both catchy, and musically complex in a way that I really admire, with simple compositions, but really creative and unique arrangements, made with a very wide range of different Synths and electronic instruments in general.

proper description of smt:

shin megami tensei is one of ATLUS' best-selling franchises. notoriously difficult, sometimes unfair, but overall very creative and fun. all SMT games (to my knowledge) take place after some sort of calamity has struck Tokyo. SMT 3 has you exploring a ruined tokyo. SMT 5 has you exploring a ruined tokyo. SMT 4 has you... on top of a ruined tokyo (it makes sense in context.) SMT 4 Apocalypse, you guessed it, has you exploring a ruined tokyo. underneath the setting of SMT 4. i promise it makes sense in context.

it's also what persona is a spin-off of! SMT lacks the like, social sim elements of the persona series though, and is pretty much entirely focused on combat and following the story. very fun games tho. even if they can be mega unfair

but yeah if you ever wanna play, SMT V is on the switch. SMT 3 has a remake on modern consoles. SMT 4 + 4A are on the 3DS. idk abt smt1+2 i never played them. lol. but they are good games. even if occasionally the battle system will make you want to chew ur controller in half bc u made ONE mistake and suddenly the enemies are downing ur entire party

So right away, when I connected to your energy I got a very giddy feeling. Very excited, like when you’re waiting for your package to be delivered. I felt very smiley too.

I got your muse scenario right away too! So I’m seeing that your artist will be someone that is not well known at all. In fact, they are an artist on the low so no one really knows that they like art. I’m seeing that they would be this introverted, almost shy kind of person. For your scenario, this is someone you work with. I’m seeing like an office setting that involves weekly meetings and all that. This person has worked at this office for years and is someone that tends to be overlooked. They are hardworking but no one really pays too much attention to them. So for them, this job has become a place where they dread being in. It has really lowered their self esteem but they haven’t been able to find a better job so they end up staying. Everything is dull and repetitive for them, that is, until you came along. I’m seeing you’d be the new hire at the job. Maybe you’ve actually only been there for a few months but they ended up transferring you to this office where your artist currently works at.

I’m seeing that your artist hears you before actually seeing you lol. Like they hear your laughter while talking to some of the others and they find it funny because the office isn’t usually so lively. And at first they’re kinda annoyed, like “who is this person making so much noise,” but then you’d walk over to them and introduce yourself. And oh, they’d be so taken aback because no one ever really acknowledges them. But you did. And boy did you talk their ear off. But you were so kind and initially you started off with something simple but ended up going on a complete tangent, which definitely surprised them. They weren’t used to having so much attention from someone at the office. After a few minutes, you start to realize you’ve taken too much of their time so you apologize and say “it was nice meeting you!” You’ve definitely made an impression on them.

One thing that really stands out, is the fact that every time you came in the office, you’d always say hello to them and strike up a little conversation with them. And you’d notice little details like if they’d changed their hairstyle or if they had a new pair of glasses something like that. And your artist really doesn’t say much during your interactions but they do appreciate being acknowledged, more than they care to admit. You notice how they blush a little when you talk to them and you’d find it adorable. But I think you’re just really friendly so it wasn’t initially that you liked them. It was more so you wanted to treat everyone kindly and with respect.

Your artist will notice your presence a lot. They’d find themselves stealing glances at you across the office or get up to grab some coffee when they notice that you’re in the break room. They’d find themselves loving your voice and wanting to hear what you have to say. Even if you’re just talking about a movie or something with a coworker. And what’s nice is that you’d always spot them and find a way to include them in the conversation, which they actually secretly love. And maybe your coworkers would be like “ugh, why are you talking to them?” And you’d be like “why not?” Like you’d be so confused as to why everyone ignores them. You quite like your artist’s presence and find them refreshing. You find it annoying that people are so blatantly disrespectful that you actually start to distance yourself a bit from them and talk more with your artist.

As you guys talk more often, your artist finds themselves thinking about you a lot. They’d also find themselves doodling little pictures of you in their papers. I’m seeing that they like to draw in a cartoonish/chibi style so the doodles will be really cute little characters. Little by little they start to open up to you and you really get to learn more about them. I think you guys actually fall for each other mutually. It’s a mutual pining situation. You’d both look forward to seeing each other every day. They’d love your sunny disposition and how you make an effort to treat everyone fairly. They love hearing you talk. They love how you also stand up for yourself and others when you feel someone has been wronged. You liven up their life so much that they can’t seem to remember a time when you weren’t in their life. They look forward to seeing you everyday and talking to you, even if it’s just for a minute. Ohhh I’m seeing they’d draw you as a little superhero because you’re kind of a hero to them. Laurence, First Vicar of the Healing Church!

I wanted to share my drawings & designs for Laurence. Some thoughts and headcanons.

I'm not going to go into details or into a serious analysis of one of the more interesting and important character of Bloodborne. It's not the purpose of this post. Take this as a funny post of a fan who just want to share what's on her mind/& dumb headcanons. There's a lot of things I didn't thought about yet (thank you confusing bloodborne timeline <3) and I will probably forget a few things/will not talk about everything because there's too much things ! So don't hesitate to ask questions & I will try to answer.

I’m really surprise to enjoy this character that much. I can't stop drawing /imagining stuff about him. He's not my favorite character at all, but well it's Laurence. I didn't thought he would left such a big impression on me. Such a tragic and interesting character...

My personal interpretations of Laurence in game are either :

THE DEVIL. All the conspiracy theories about the Church are true (poisoning of old Yharnam, give the blood to Cainhurst...). He could be really vile and manipulative character with everything that goes with it. truly an evil characters...

But I prefer to picture him as a more nuanced character. I think he really wanted to help the every life of people. It works for some times before everything went down. He did some mistakes, his ego keep growing and then he realizes too late his mistake. He try to made things right but... it was already too late.

So i'm going with the mostly second one here ^^

When I listened to his theme I can easily picture and imagined all his life and the healing church (like Gherman theme too...). It's a wonderful and amazing tracks... So tragic...I can feel the pain he must have feel before turning into a beast. Full of regret...

I did a bunch of designs. An evolution through the years (like the Gehrman ones X). But if I had to choose only 1 representation.

I'm sorry, but with all the religious symbolism in Bloodborne I can only pictured him looking a bit similar to some religious figures really easily... that's the vibe that he gives me... And I think it suits him.

Now headcanons ! (But more based from my story) :

So let's begin with a "funny" little thing. See how Cleric beast Laurence dramatically sit ?

When he spend a long time sitting he often tend to sit like this. When he was alone, with people close to him or that he knows well. He reads books like this, fell asleep like this. He just can't sit properly in a chair XD

Laurence is small. Well not really too small, he's about size of our hunter (1.7-1.8 m approximately) but Yharnamites are 2m+ tall so XD. So yes he have a foreigner size. At least one if not both of his parents are foreigners. That's why.

But don't let this lower your guard ! He's really strong. In a bar fight you should be worried about him. He can throw someone bigger than him above the bar...

Because of his smaller corpulence he can get drunk really fast. That's why he created the pungent blood cocktail lmao. Gehrman carry him way to much time on his back because of it. They were not BFF for nothing!

After the healing church was found/ gain autonomy he got a horse. A little white horse (still didn’t decided of a name yet..I thought something in Latin…). The horse have a normal size but for a Yharnamite it’s small XD. I did draw smt about it but it’s not really good & I can’t had more pics so… just imagine Laurence on his horse, beside him, on one side you have Maria, on the other you have Gehrman. Both on bigger black horses, like the ones that take us to Cainhurst XD

Thanks to the blood he aged really good. Until they try to summon MP… he looks like a half transformed beast sometimes. He even loose some teeths (his human skull in the nightmare is missing quite a few).

So I believed the MP beckoning went terribly wrong… people dies, get turn into beasts… the Blood Moon isn’t really the best of thing…. He got a bigger scar + bandages because of this. And see how his beast skull got a huge cracks…

I do believe in the Bloodletting beast = Laurence. Or maybe even a mixt of this & his nightmare form. I also think the version we saw in the nightmare is a nightmarish version of him.

Other things

He's obsessed with the Watchdog of the old lords ! He found it so fascinating. After it was defeat, Laurence took sample of blood from it to try to study the creature and how it could be in fire. He even inject himself blood from the fire beast... (So he could trow fire in his beast form after being burn by molotov yeah).

Yeah...he has some issues with fire... Old...Yharnam...HM...

He's obsessed with the Old Blood too if it's not obvious...

I also believed he took weapons to fight beast/ fight in the dungeon sometimes. Either with the church pick, the blood letter or a beast built thanks to the beast embrace rune. (Or all 3 at the same time).

sakusa is sakusa, we all love him, but he can be a little cold and a little too blunt... and to have someone question your goals or hobbies because it doesn't fit with him is SO icky.

yes, he knows how to analyse situations and make judgements that would be best fit – but at first, he was more of a: blue curtain is a blue curtain, type of guy. he didn't care about "finding the deeper meaning."

arts ≠ sports : you didn't understand what was so appealing about hitting a ball over the net, and he didn't understand why you were so interested in the arts... or becoming a teacher.

but alas people grow up, and when sakusa was stuck trying to figure someone out before a big game you brought up a point along the lines of: maybe you should look into their personalities as well. and he was mind blown.

the two of you sat together looking at every little aspect, combining everything you know with everything he knows – he was so impressed, and not once did he criticise. you actually warmed up to him that day.

if thoughts that i was too tired last nite to type out.. i decided to just go right into it and finish off the smt snes titles while off the heels of 1&2. like i rambled in tags it’s fine, i didnt find it on its own particularly interesting or investing, it’s p much just straightforward dungeon crawling. it’s like the p1 snow queen route but less plot and no characters nwafeoijfg but also like i said it is more interesting for being the crossroads title between smt and the progenitor of persone just playing it and seeing obviously what was taken further in later titles etc etc

most annoying things to me were how u had to buy ammo by the bullet (i mean money becomes a nonissue after that forced grind sesh in the world of sloth but taking up inventory space sometimes. i ended up not using the guns as much but maybe that was the idea since those are ur main sources of Cheesing the gameplay in 1&2 snjfkg) and how demons in the lower back row of ur UI cant reach enemies w their standard attacks (i can see how that was the basis for the p1 battle system positioning which i found a lil annoying at times in that game too LOL) i understand they were trying to make combat more interesting though, considering those are the two elements you’d crutch on for spamming auto-battle

but god i think the worst part of the game was that stupid world of sloth dungeon... u cannot advance unless a certain amount of moon phase cycles pass so u just gotta wander around back and forth which was tedious as fuuuuck (goes without saying for most of this game i had on other things to watch while dungeon crawling pfft) it is probably bc the nature of the game is very formulaic with knowing oh i have to do dungeon 1 then dungeon 2 etc etc and being p bare bones in the story/char department that doesn’t make it very interesting to me but i could see ppl who are just rlly into dungeon crawling enjoying it

one thing particular to me i guess is the fact almost all of the game’s music is recycled from 1&2 (with very light add-ons and remixing) and while im not complaining abt having to listen to those because they have Great osts.... idk music being used outside of its original context can often bother me more than i think it should, something about it kind of undermining its original effect... (this is super nitpicky, i think this comes out of my film background where music is usually executed with such purpose lol) like smt1&2 have such distinct tones, 1 is a really lonely and empty feeling game, 2 really feels like a special flavor of widespread post-apocalypse, so to me it feels dissonant to hear some of the tracks that add to that out of their original context when smt if is a muuuuch smaller self-contained game than its predecessors (there were certain bits of smt4a that had the same effect against smtiv to me tbh) this def bothered me especially with the smt2 tracks LOL again super nitpicky. but honestly hearing the music from the prev games just made me kind of wish i was playing those instead

anyway. certainly a strangely interesting game in theory. if only for its prototype-like nature (at least for me)

- Reki and Miya have a lot of Gaming and Anime Nights. They usually play Nintendo/Mario games (Mario Party, Mario 64, Mario Party ect.) And as Animes they watch the basic stuff yk, MHA, Haikyuu, AOT, SAO ect. ect.

- Shadow reads a lot of slice of life Mangas secretly and he also watches a lot of romance animes so he can raise the chance to get together with the flower shop lady.

- And Cherry listens to Penelope Scott bc her songs remind him of the Time he and Adam were still friends and how fucked up Adam is now.

- Miya probably gets a cat themed tattoo when hes older, yk smt like a cat paw or a cat head (simplified ofc) or cat whiskers

- Reki and Langa don’t like the idea of matching tattos so they decided to get matching piercings. Reki has a snowflake piercing on his left ear and Langa a gear one on his right ear

life update or smt

I cut myself 😃 found out my boyfriend looks at egirls on twitch (some do asmr) and he said its not true, he doesnt look at them he just listens to their asmr, but like the psycho I am I went thru all of their profiles and not all of them do asmr or even gaming content whatsoever. He also looked up the category ‘pools hot tubs and beaches’ which is just girls streaming in their bikinis. I know he cares because when he saw my arm (I literally just deeply scraped myself on the arm with a sharp piece of cardboard so it wasn’t even fully cutting as it wasnt too deep or too bloody, i couldnt find anything sharper in his room) his eyes were getting teary and he made me promise not do attempt it ever again. I promised him but idk if I will keep my word as when I did ‘scrape’ myself I felt better and it kinda helped make me think clearly. I still believe he’s lying as when I asked about the category and the girls that don’t do asmr his excuse was ‘you know how that industry works, they use their body for views and do those kind of streams too but I just look at their asmr’ as if it wasnt in his suggested google searches

Anyways the next day we went to buy some clothes for summer and we went with a group of friends that included his ex girlfriend. Stuff that happened that makes me want to purge a month worth of food:

- tried on some clothes and had to look at myself in the mirror, hated my body. it had like mirrors on the sides as well so I could see myself from the back and I’m so fucking big and ugly and fat it’s even worse than I thought

- went to another store and was left alone with his ex downstairs, she mentioned she gave her (recent) ex bf her thrasher shirt, and he found out it was ex’s and my bf’s shirt together from when they were still a couple. And she laughed cuz she forgot to mention that to him. I also asked what relationship lasted the longest and she said hers and my boyfriends. They had matching shirts and he was her most serious one yet. great

- dont get me wrong, shes very sweet but I just cant stand it sometimes that she dated my boyfriend I guess. like, she likes to steal and she stole a corset for me (and herself, the same one) (also my bf asked her to) which was really nice as she didnt have to. Then we went outside and she got both M and S. My boyfriend said she was probably S and I was probably M. He said he meant cuz I have bigger boobs but wow was that embarrassing and hurtful

- At another store he got an oversized shirt sized L and joked that it was just my size. He jokes about my size often cuz he knows im insecure, and he says he doesnt mean it, but this was literally in front of his ex girlfriend and just unnecessary. that hurt

- he always ALWAYS says the wrong things. like I know he means well but there are so many examples (some of which I posted on here) where he just hurts me even more. This was before we met up with our friends. We went into a store they said theyd be in, i got some cute accessories and they called saying they were already gone. My boyfriend wanted to leave right away, and I didnt as I wanted to buy the stuff I was holding. Instead of ‘we came here for them’ he said ‘we came here for her’. Then said i was probably gonna make a problem out of this as well. All I’m saying is that he never has accidentally called me another name but hers or like a boy’s pronouns u know?

- when we went to go home we all jokingly called his ex our sugar mommy as she would steal stuff for us and thus ‘take care of us financially’. He said mommy, mommy, and then like the tiktok sound said it again and again, like all throughout the day too but now while leaving too. Then he said ‘Oh I can’t say mommy about another girl?’ As if me calling another guy daddy would be cool. I didn’t even say anything about it, he just assumed. We all joked about her being our sugar mommy but he just said it so many times that it made me feel weird. Almost as if he’s trying to push me?

Tonight she’s hosting a bbq at her place so we’ll see how it goes. I had a dress ready but now I don’t even wanna go as I hate my body and myself and my boyfriends continues interest in her (not romantically but she does drugs and steals and stuff and he just thinks that’s really cool) but romantically or not, still hurts that of all people he has to be interested in has to be his ex gf
