Like a hungry tiger, you're on high alert. Sure, you're also a bit drunk, so maybe not as sharp as you'd like to be, but they don't call it liquid courage for nothing. "Okay, that's it. I'm cutting you off," you declare, snatching both drinks from her and downing the burning liquid in one gulp.

"Aw," she pouts. "Boo, Y/N. You can't cut me off; my card's on the tap tonight."

"Well, that's too bad."

Standing on your tiptoes, you scan over the dozens of heads until you spot a familiar face in the crowd—one of your guy friends. The moment you make eye contact, you wave him over.

"She's completely out of it. Can you please get her home?" you yell over the music, summoning your sweetest smile and fluttering your eyelashes for extra effect. "Pretty please."

"I am not," BF/N interjects, prompting an eye roll from you before redirecting your focus back to your other friend.

He leans in close, his voice barely audible over the music. "We're all thinking of leaving, actually. This place is kinda lame."

Your shoulders slump as you pull back, peering up at the mysterious DJ you've been eyeing all night.

"Sorry, can't do," you shake your head, meeting your friend's gaze again.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean," you sling your arm around his shoulder and gesture towards the DJ booth where the DJ is engaged in conversation with two other guys, "I want to know who that guy in the middle is. He's hot."

"Yeah?" F/N looks at you unimpressed. "Hot like the guy from last night? Or the one from two weeks ago?"

"Ouch," you rub your chest. "Are you trying to tell me something?"

"Yeah, actually," he nods. "I'm telling you that we're leaving, Y/N."

You shake your head and gently cup his face. "Correction, you're leaving."

Before he can object, you quickly add, "Give everyone a kiss from me, please. And don't worry, I'll text you when I get home. Pinkie promise."

You hold out your pinkie finger expectantly, but when he doesn't respond, you sigh and grab his hand with your free one, linking your fingers together.

"See, that wasn't so hard," you say, releasing his hand. As you spin on your heel, you give him one final glance and yell, "By the way, you might want to get BF/N out now. She really can't handle her liquor, if you catch my drift."

A sudden surge of energy courses through you, sending goosebumps down your arms. Whether it's from the earlier shots or not, it gets your heart pumping as you make a beeline straight for the DJ booth.

"Now or never," you mutter under your breath, stretching your neck from side to side.

Once you catch sight of the back of the DJ’s curly dark hair, you tap his shoulder.

The moment your eyes meet, your lips curve into a smile. "Hey you."

The guy offers a wide grin, exposing the small gap between his front teeth. "So she speaks," he says.

You chuckle. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing much," he shrugs, scratching his nose. "I was just wondering if staring was all you could do or if you'd actually come and say hi, you know? I don’t bite."

"Well, I do," your voice rings out huskily as you appraise him for a couple of seconds. He's wearing a loose blue shirt unbuttoned almost all the way down. "I had to make sure you weren’t the type of person I'd eat alive." Extending your hand to him, you add, "Congrats, you're not. I'm Y/N."

"Happy to have made the cut," he laughs, clasping his hand around yours and pulling you slightly forward so that your hands are the only thing separating your bodies. "Lando," you feel his warm breath against your face.

A trail of tingles shoots down your spine as you simply gaze up at him with an unwavering smile. "I think we're going to have lots of fun."

"Let's," he nods, dragging his finger over his bottom lip.

You ponder his words for a moment before releasing a sigh and spinning around, heading toward the dresser opposite him. Crossing your arms, you perch on its edge and simply wait, eyes fixed on the floor.

For a while, neither of you speaks until Lando breaks the silence. "You didn’t miss anything, you know? The race was shit." You tilt your gaze up, noticing the disappointment etching his face as he adds, "Again."

Your mind goes blank—you're not good at handling emotions. It's why you prefer the single, ready-to-mingle but never-more life. It's why you and Lando are whatever the hell this is. You flirt, and while you would have gladly torn his clothes off the first night you met, now it's different. There are strings attached now, so he's off-limits—your rule.

It's just friendly flirting, you'd say, but you don't even remember the last time he's had someone over on a romantic level. Come to think of it, neither have you, and it makes your skin crawl.

"Uhm," you finally respond with a shrug. "I think that calls for a night out. What do you say?"

The silence sits there for a few minutes before Vinnie finally breaks it, "What? Nah man, Stone doesn't hate you." She says, almost laughing at such an accusation. "It's true, he almost never speaks to me and he treats me like shit." You say, trying to justify your words.

You and Vinnie both stare at each other, eyes locked until Skipp speaks up, "Actually, where is Stone?" He asks before looking around, almost like if Stone would magically appear behind him if he looked again. "I'm...not sure?" You say, now slightly confused. You hadn't even known he was gone, does that make you a bad friend?

"I think you should look for him" Vinnie says, pointing at you, the same smile that she has when she's comes up with a scam that will most definitely get everyone in trouble plastered on her face. "What? Why me?!" You ask, looking at her flabbergasted, like she just said that you had 6 arms. "Yeah, I agree (name), you should look for him" Skipp says, nodding in agreement.

And thats how you ended up here, wandering the roads of your hometown looking for a guy you think hates you. Why would they just toss me to the wolves like that? You think to yourself, feet clicking against the half paved roads.

If it wasn't such a bad situation, you probably would've taken your time to admire the architecture around you. It somehow makes all the unbearableness of the place around you seem less terrible. It almost makes it possible to ignore all the crying babies and screaming wives and... groaning from alleyways?

You stop in your tracks and turn on your heels, looking at the nearby alleyway. "...Hello?" You ask cautiously, stepping slowly into the alleyway. All you hear in response is a groan of your name, "(Name)...?" Is that...is that Stone? you think to yourself, walking towards the origin of the groaning.

After taking a couple steps, all you see is several bottles that you can only assume are empty, and Stone, curled in the fetal position on the ground. "Stone, are you okay?" You ask, walking towards him and kneeling in front of him. He manages to sit up somewhat, leaning against the ugly brick wall behind him, "I'm...*hic* fine..." He says, looking obviously not fine.

You sigh, looking down at your side to see your trust canteen. You unhook it from your side and offer it to him, "No, you're drunk, drink this". You narrow your eyes at him, waiting for him to grab the canteen full of water from your hands. He glares up at you. After looking at you for barely even a second his eyes seem to soften slightly and he grabs the canteen, taking a swig and then attempting to hand it back to you (he ended up spilling half of it on the ground).

You look back at him after hooking the canteen to your side again, he looks pretty pathetic right now, you think, chuckling softly to yourself. Instead of saying anything to him you sit next to him. Looking over you hear him mumbling something, but with how quiet he was paired with the slurring of his words, all you could really make out was "like" and "sorry".

He looks back at you, his eyes looking kinda out of it and misty. Before you can say anything to really break the silence between you two, he lays his head on your shoulder, something that you would've never expected to happen while he was sober. When he does this, you can finally hear what he was trying to say, "I...like y-*hic* you."

After he says that he resumes just laying on your shoulder and you decide that you can let him rest it off here for a bit until he sobers up. As he slowly drifts off, all you can think is that maybe Vinnie was right. Who really knows right now, but you can always ask him when he's sober.

The long, wispy hair hanging in his face brushes against your forehead, tickling you slightly and causing your eyes to close, nose scrunching up. Giggling, you reach up to push your hands into his hairline, pushing all of it out of his face. He looks a bit silly, but still so handsome. “Mm, yes please.”

He shakes free of your grasp, hair falling into his face once again, an over-dramatic pout gracing his lips, “Okay, well I’m not going to make you any if you’re just going to tease me, baby.”

“Sorry,” you rush to apologize, a smile still tugging at your lips as, this time, you delicately push a few strands of hair out of his face, tucking them behind his ear, “‘m sorry. You’re so pretty it hurts, Stevie.”

Request: heyyy can u do number 5 (''Did I just say that out loud?'') and it's a rafe x kook!reader that is sarah bestfriend but sarah wasn't home when she stopped by and rafe invites for her to wait for sarah. even tho shes a little hesitant she decided to wait for her but instead gets left alone with rafe for the whole day. she thinks that he hates her (thinks she's weird, stupid, funny, ugly) so she covers it up by being sarcastic and mean when he's actually secretly in love with her and they pick on eachother all the time and after a few too many drinks and hours together she begins to mumble about how rafe is so hot but such a dick as rafe is opening another beer bottle (or literally anything that is normal but completely hot) and thats when he is like "huh🤭" and shes like "omg did I say that out loud😦" and it ends however u want😘

‘’Sarah’s not here,’’ Rafe announced when he answered the door. ‘’She went to Charleston with Rose and Wheezie. Girls trip. She didn’t tell you?’’

You frowned. ‘’Eh, no.’’

‘’You can wait for her here if you want. They should be back today.’’

The idea of being alone with Rafe didn't enchant you — he was self-centered, arrogant and had an open dislike for you —, but didn't feel like going home. Your parents were having marital issues and you needed a break from their arguments.

You followed him to the balcony, which was a mess from Rafe's last party. There were half empty liquor bottles, unopened beers and wrappers of various sorts all over the table. You could spot a bong among the mess too.

Rafe sat on the couch and grabbed a bottle from the table. ‘’Want a beer or something?’’

It was only 1pm, but why not.

You took a beer, not seeing any mixing liquids to make drinks, but struggled to open it. You tried to look for a beer cap opener, but Rafe took the bottle from you and opened it with the bottom of a lighter.

‘’Thanks,’’ you said, taking a sip of your drink.

Neither of you said anything for a bit, sitting and drinking beer in silence. Occasionally, you could hear the chirps of the birds, the swish of the waves...and the annoying noise of Rafe's phone as he texted. Who has their keyboard sound on?

You finished your beer and Rafe offered you another one. ‘’Do you know what time Sarah will arrive?’’

Rafe shook his head, lips around the rim of his beer bottle. ‘’Nope.’’

You sighed and leaned further into the couch cushions. Great.

More time passed and you found yourself glancing curiously at your balcony companion. The sleeve of his shirt was hugging his bicep and you absentmindedly bit your lip. You knew he went to the gym with Topper and Kelce, but you never took time to notice how toned he was.

Your eyes shifted up to his face, and when you did, you saw his gaze pointed down towards your bare legs and the bottom of your dress, but he was steadily making his way back up to your face. He licked his lips as he looked you over, and immediately you were squeezing your crossed legs closer together.

‘’Is that a new dress?’’ Rafe played with the hem of your dress, exposing a small part of your thigh. ‘’Red looks better on you than blue.’’

‘’If you don't get your hand off of me, the next shade of red you'll see will be coming from your nose.’’

He laughed, a stupid grin etched on his face, and turned his body fully towards your own, leaning an elbow onto the back of the couch to rest his head on his fist. ‘’Feisty, I like it.’’

You rolled your eyes and took a long sip of your beer, wishing Sarah would get home faster. You’ve been in Rafe’s presence for over two hours and your patience was wearing thin with him. You pulled out your phone and tried texting her, but got no response.

A sigh left your lips.

‘’If you’re bored, we could take a dip in the hot tub?’’

You scoffed. ‘’With you? No thanks,’’ you replied. ‘’Besides, I don’t have my bikini.’’

‘’Sarah has many, or you can go naked. I don’t mind.’’

You glared at him with disgust.

Rafe nodded. ‘’I’ll take that for a no…’’

After your second beer, the alcohol was starting to kick in, feeling a light pleasing buzz.

You sank into your seat, swishing your third beer. ‘’Ugh, why so hot if such a dick?’’ you mumbled to yourself.

Being at an arm distance, Rafe had heard you — unfortunately. He cocked an eyebrow, a smug look on his face. ‘’What was that?’’

Realization hit you and you wanted to be swallowed by the couch. Or better, throw yourself off the balcony. ‘’Shit. Did I say that out loud?’’ you asked yourself.

Amusement washed over Rafe’s face. He leaned forward slightly, squinting as he studied you. You weren’t drunk, he’s seen you drunk before. Tipsy, perhaps. ‘’It that the alcohol speaking some truth?’’ He was pretty close by then, close enough that you could smell him — a mix of beer and expensive cologne.

‘’Fuck off, Rafe.’’ You put down your beer and stood, rounding the table to head to the sliding door. ‘’Tell Sarah to call me when she gets home. I’m going.’’

Rafe stopped you. ‘’Wait.’’

A tired sigh left your lips.

He licked his lips and ran a hand through his hair, about to spill something he had buried deep inside him. ‘’If it makes you feel better, I think you’re hot too.’’

You laughed, half genuine and half influenced by the effects of alcohol.

‘’You think I’m fucking with you, but I’m not.’’ Rafe wrapped an arm around your waist and tugged you to him. You let him. ‘’I tried to get you out of my head — I mean, you’re Sarah’s friend —, but it’s not working. Everytime you’re over, I find myself looking at you and wishing I could bend you over the kitchen table.’’

You felt your heartbeat stutter a few times. ‘’The kitchen table?’’

‘’Or the couch right here.’’ He flashed you a devilish grin, a rush of dirty thoughts running through his head. ‘’You pick.’’

His dazzling blue eyes were looking right at you, and — fuck — you wanted him to kiss you. But you couldn't. It was part of the friendship code. No hooking up with someone’s brother behind their back.

Being forbidden made you want him more, though…

Rafe kissed you back and pulled you to his lap, hands slowly roaming your body. They slid from your back to your waist, over the curve of your hips, and down until he was roughly squeezing at your thighs.

He forced his tongue into your mouth without hesitation and you let out a soft moan, rutting your hips against him impulsively and igniting the fire.

Your hands went from his face to his hair, eliciting a moan when you pulled. His fingers slid just beneath the hem of your short dress, sending a wave of tingles across your skin as you immediately felt his bulge harden against your thigh.

The good thing about Tannyhill was that there were no neighbors and the backyard gave right on the ocean. There were no ways for anyone to see what you and Rafe were up to on the balcony, which was a good thing because neither of you felt like stopping to get inside the house.

You looked over your shoulder, the door reminding you that your friend would be home soon.

Sensing your train of thought, Rafe grabbed your chin and made you look at him. ‘’Sarah is not coming back until tomorrow afternoon,’’ he said, dropping his forehead to rest against yours. He sounded just as breathless as you.

‘’What?! But you told me—’’

‘’I lied.’’ He dropped a kiss on your shoulder, then slipped the thin strap off, slowly exposing more of your body. ‘’I wanted you to myself and saw an opportunity.’’

‘’I’m glad you did.’’ You leaned up, kissing him once more, and sucking on his bottom lip in the process.

"Okay, fine." Spencer goes first, and you're unsure of what he's about to say, hoping it won't be something that breaks your heart. "There's one thing. There are always hair ties everywhere. I don't even understand how she has so many, but they'll be on the kitchen bench, in the shower, on my bedside table."

It just makes you laugh while Emily defends you and Morgan complains about how he's experienced the same issue. "Okay, now you have to tell us something, Y/n."

"Fine." You relent. There's one thing, and it's a surprising quality for a germaphobe to have. "Spencer's bad at not having clutter, like his books always end up everywhere."

Self-professed neat freak Morgan has something to say about that. "Wow, Y/n, you could do better."

You roll your eyes, kicking him under the table. "Sorry, Morgan, I'm happily taken."

Spencer doesn't look upset about it, which you check, but he slides his hand protectively onto your thigh.

You kiss him on the cheek, making your spectators squeal with disgust. "You know I don't mind your books, right?" You double-check.

He nods, softly smiling at you. "I know."

It weighs on his mind the rest of the way home, and by the time you're back at home after finishing some reports, it's all he can think about.

You know something's wrong when he flops down on the couch without taking his shoes off. "Hey." You sit by his head on the arm of the sofa, running your hand through his curls. "What's wrong?"

He shuts his eyes, pouts, and shakes his head. "Nothing."

"Uh-uh." You coo. "Tell me, baby."

He huffs before spilling. "You're going to leave me." He claims. "When you realize you can have anyone you want."

"Is this about what Morgan said?" You ask, and he nods in reply. "Spence, you can't think that that's true. I only want you. I've only wanted you since I met you."

"Really?" He asks.

"Of course." You assure him. "There's no one as intelligent, funny, kind, caring, and thoughtful as you. You're perfect."

His upset expression melts a little at that, and he smiles slightly. "I'm sorry for worrying about this."

"As long as you remember that I love you." You tell him. "More than anything."

"I love you too." He returns. You lean down in an awkward motion to kiss him upside down, but it's enough to get a smile out of him that you were longing for.
