@ssspringroll <---- soooooo many presets and antennae and other little things

Pyxis <---- again loooots of genetic type stuff. I believe their inactive though so I would run things though a few batch fixes in s4s just to make sure things work properly. Most of the monster teeth I use come from here. I also am in love with their pretty visitors alien eyes.

@plantainboat <----Plant sims galore!! could also easily be used for aliens

@eachuisge-cc <---- lots of really cool digitigrade things

@octetsica <---- I'm in love with their occult skintone and all the lovely body blushing it has, they also make a lot of alien type hair

@sewersims <---- lots of 80's horror type genetic things

@saruin <---- idk where to start, I use so much of her stuff from skin overlays to clothes to the occult things

Berrynooboo's <---- berry/alien skin overlays, again older and inactive so run though some batch fixes.

CC!NextGen: The Kids In Total

Ok, this is just me and Mimi spitballing, you may do with this as you will. First ACTUAL kids, then spitballing and musing. Please note that not ALL THE KIDS need to be involved. (Mimi: “Honestly, it makes more sense for the ages to be a bit staggered, so you’ve got the core kids involved, then all their sibs and cousins. Also, if you try to make ALL the kids involved, then you’ll just have a U.A. class of the kids, no other new students, which can limit some of the kinds of characters you can have.”) 

(we also both recognize that actualy writing and coming up with this many characters is a LOT. So, it’s just thoughts and opinions, which may be discarded!)

Tell us your thoughts!

Izuku/Shoto/Eijirou/Ochaco/Katsuki - Umi, Miku, Miyuki. They have at least one more kid, probably adopted. We headcanon that, as much as they all LOVE Miyuki, Ochaco had a horrible time being pregnant, just really awful, and is NOT down to do that again. Next kid after Miyuki would absolutely be Deku fulfilling everyone’s predictions about bringing a kid home.

Hanta/Tenya/Mei - Gumi. K, this is just us, but me and Mimi both see Iida as the kind of guy to have SO MANY KIDS. It’s not anything PLANNED, he just really loves his partners, so it KEEPS HAPPENING. The only reason he doesn’t have some insane number, like 15, is that neither he nor Sero have a uterus. Order would be Kid1, Kid2, Gumi, Kid3&4 (twins), Kid5 (which Mei swears is the LAST ONE, she’s got MECHANICAL BABIES to work on!).

Momo/Kyoka/Denki/Hitoshi - Kanade, Kaname, Hibiki. This … Actually seems fairly perfect, if they aren’t all the same age. Mimi wants to argue for a bio-Shinsou kid, but I argue he’s going to take after Dadzawa and just semi-adopt a bunch of underdog teens with shitty home lives.

Eimi/Tsuyu - Akiko. So, interesting fact. Twins can be genetic. If you are a twin (either fraternal or identical) you are more likely to have twins later on. So, yup, give these suckers a pair of twins. I’d lean more into the Frog thing. Wait, make it shadow frogs, ninja frogs, let’s get Greninja up in here.

Mezo/Fumikage - Nijiko. Mimi and I both agree that these two wouldn’t try for bio kids. That’s a lot of work neither really have time for, not to mention, considering their extended family, could get complicated real quick. They were just planning to be the responsible uncles, but then Nijiko happened. We can see them POSSIBLY adopting another kid (Mimi is really attached to Nijiko having a little baby brother with a squid or general cephalopod Quirk), but they wouldn’t go out of their way.

Hawks/Toya - (eventually) Hirokazu. This was kind of weird, cause like. BEFORE Hirokazu, these two were like “nopenopenope, no kids, not happening”, but AFTER Hirokazu, we could see them wanting kids of their own (that they actually PLANNED FOR AKAMEI). Mimi really wants the Future Heroes Program to, like. Akamei is pregnant when everything goes to shit, after she’s arrested, they test the baby, it’s Hawks, he and Toya adopt it when it’s born, but like. I also want to give Hawks a BREAK, so. Maybe they adopt a kid through a mission later. But I could possibly see them looking into adoption or surrogacy later. Maybe they wouldn’t go through with it, but I see them looking at it.

Himiko/Tooru - so, you didn’t put anything for these two, which has caused Mimi to go a little feral. She came up with a Himi-Tooru kid who, rather than straight up invisibility, is a proper camouflag-chameleon type, “can change colour to match background”. Then she showed me the Mimic Octopus, so now she posits they have a kid that can change shape, colour, and texture to imitate objects, animals, and so forth, but it isn’t proper “shape-shifting” like Himiko does - kid can’t BECOME the objects/people/animals, but she can look real dang close. Look up Mimic Octopus, it’s actually SOOOOO COOL. Anyway, Quirk called “Flattery” (based on “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”). We also had the thought that, while Mimic kid would be Himi-Tooru, they could have another kid by more traditional IVF, ie, get a friend to help, so Sato donated for a Sato-Himi kid, who drinks blood to power-up.

Mina - I know we’ve joked, but I seriously see Mina as a badass single mom of 2. One adopted, one bio. Whoever the bio-kid is, dad is around, but is more of a fun uncle. He’s involved, but he has his own life.

Monoma/Tetsutetsu - Mimi, direct quote: “Let’s be honest, Monoma’s that guy who says he HATES kids, and never wants any, and Tetsu’s just kind of made his peace with the fact they’ll never have kids, then Monoma’s going to save a baby from a house fire, they’ll be all alone in the world, he’ll get super attached, and call up Tetsu like ‘Hey, do you want kids? Cause we have one now’.”

Me: “….that was real specific, did you…..have a character in mind?”

Mimi: “Not really. Maybe a solid mutation type, there aren’t enough of those. Or just. Living crystal.”

So, those are, I THINK, all CC canon pairings? (please tell us if we missed anyone or got anyone wrong!) So, here are Mimi’s fan hopefuls!

Koda/Pony - The two are shy and adorable. They have a small army of animal themed kids that can all talk to animals, some better at one species than others.

Ojiro/??? - Ojiro’s Mimi’s favourite character, so there are a few options here:

1) He marries Setsuna (girl who can detach her body into pieces from 1-B) and they have a bunch of kids with Quirks that let them detach their tails/grow multiple tails

2) He marries a lovely Quirkless girl, who works as like, an accountant, and they have many tailed children.

3) He marries Mimi’s OC, Jun Hanayama, who’s Quirk gives her plant control, and plant-based biology (looks like a tree nymph, pointed ears, Hero Name: Persephone), and all their kids look like fae creatures. Total number of kids, 3. (Note: Jun would go to one of the other hero schools, and we made up an older sibling, Aoi Hanayama (Non-Binary), same Quirk, Hero Name: Dryad, who would’ve been in Toya’s class, to continue the joke, of “that year, everyone was "Ele-MENTAL”, badumtish.“)

Okay we’re going through the list!

Izu/Ocha/Kats/Sho/Kiri - Honestly yeah I could 100% see them getting another kid because they were RIGHT and Izuku just. Yoink. /technically/ you can count them picking Nitaru up by the scruff as ‘adopting another kid’ but idk on that (I feel Izuku would feel responsible for him due to the biological relation, but wouldn’t be sure if this family is ‘right’ for him). Could be a different kiddo though in which case I say one younger than LM.

Hanta/Tenya/Mei - honestly that’s hilarious and I WILL need to retcon some things because my only note is that Gumi has to be the same age as LM.

Momo/Jiro/Denki/Shinso - yeah just about. Shinso is good with no bio kids but he’s always on the lookout for kids who need help out of bad situations.

Eimi/Tsu - Honestly I go back and forth because on one hand I think Tsu would be more down for just a singular kid because like. She loves her siblings and she loves her parents, but she does have some negative feelings over being parentified as the oldest daughter and she doesn’t want to accidentally do that. But also twins aren’t exactly planned, and it’s hard to parentify one if they’re the same age.

Mezo/Fumikage - Yeah they didn’t really plan on kids they were kinda in the ‘well we’re not actively trying and it can’t happen accidentally so 🤷🏻‍♀️’ but then they pick up Nijiko and whoops our daughter now.

Hawks/Toya - Oh yeah I’d 100% say give them a break and any further kids should be something they want and plan for with no fuckery and/or obligations. But yeah they were very much ‘nope! Never!’ until they found out about Hirokazu. Which is a whole mess ofc. But they only have him for a short while (he’s already 15-16 when they get custody so that’s about 2 years tbh). But they do a decent job which is what they were so scared of beforehand and it just clicks in the parental instinct for them so they might look into other kids. (Toya: Wow I really am just like my dad only starting to be a good father in my late 40s.)

Himiko/Tooru - honestly I knew I’d want them to have a kid but I hadn’t yet gotten around to planning out said kid but yeah no I love this Quirk idea!

Mina - Hell yeah single mom vibes!!

Monoma/Tetsutetsu - that is entirely on brand tbh. I will say i’m banning the crystal thing because I have plans for that sort of Quirk(althoguh it’s still in this family lmao)

As for the suggested ones:

On one hand I get where you’re coming from on Koda/Pony on the other hand I feel like they’re gay in opposite directions. But consider Pony/Kinoko for ultimate cottagecore lesbian vibes. (tempted to give them a kid based on The Last Unicorn tbh).

Ojiro darling I NEED to give this boy more attention. Honestly on Quirk alone I’m seeing the potential in the Setsuna one of their kid just being some kinda funky tails that work like a hydra situation. Not sure yet on him. I feel like I need to swing over to him and focus on him and developing a friendship/relationship instead of yeeting random characters together.

Sheesh.. a lot??? 

I guess I’ll say that my sim style has included more realism over time of being here. Seeing their portraits side by side (from left to right) as they’ve grown into how they look now is a little jarring for me because I’m not really sure if it’s consistent. If you look hard enough or you’ve followed me for a while you can tell that some of them are the same sim but others like Ben have gone through some serious overhauls. 

Mostly that reason is because in my eyes they’ll be forever wips. I’m always changing something about their background, story arcs or genetics &all that comes into play with their appearance. 

As far as my actual sim style is concerned.. IMO.. I’ve improved. When it comes to personal preference your own opinion is what should matter so please never let anyone else influence you on how your sims should look/behave. That goes for life in general too.

I can safely say that I have Sandy’s entire catalog &she’s the only one I’ve ever donated to, so.. AroundTheSims3/4.

hi anon! 👋👵 i hope i thought of the same sim... if not feel free to send me another ask..😅 ignore the crossed out nose bc thats a cc nose. i used a base game nose, the number four preset.👃 and some things like shadows of the "ABOUT FACE - FACEKIT BY PYXIS" you can find >>here<< 👈 and the nose masks of the "SUMMER SKELETONS V2 - A SKINSET BY PYXIS" you can find >>here<< 👈

it can be sometimes a bit frustrating if you not get what you want out of the preset you using, but when you take a bit of time and try it a few times you will see that it gets better and better. or just change the preset and see how it goes with another one. sometimes what i do too is putting two sims of mine together in the genetics and see what will come out. or i put the same sim in the genetics .. and see what happened to the nose or eyes whatever i want a bit different and sometimes the nose come out smoother. just need some tweaks after it like make it bigger or whatever you prefer. hope i could help a little bit! wish you a good day/night! ☕🌿

Hey for the longest time I wanted to make a presentation post and talk about myself and my lore :D

Well I'm MissFerret you can call me Maggie or just Ferret, Hurón works too

Im Mexican and my first language is spanish, also I go by She/her and I'm Asexual.

The fandoms/stuff that I'm into, well they do change a lot, but I mostly gravitate around minecraft, some mcyts as well as other cc, pokemon, mythology and sometimes creepy/mysterious stuff.

Now some lore about me under the cut if you are interested...

"ok so I can safely tell this story in first person, thanks to the internet no one would believe me and that's the point, I don't want the wrong people to get too curious.

My full name is Maggie Mustela as you can imagine I'm part ferret and of course that didn't occur naturally, I don't know the details of my creation, the purpose, the culprit and even date, just that if we put it in a percentage you can say is 60% human and 40% ferret (my theory is that I'm a black-footed ferret which is cool :D) and that there was a lot of embrio/genetic manipulation, illegally I assume, now "Were did the rest of the ferret go? You can only see the ears and tail" It mostly went internally (enzimes, bone structure, senses, dietary needs, probably intestinal length as well, you get the idea), and how did I stopped being an experiment? Well I escaped very young and my now dad found me an took care of me since then.

And that's that, is not that cool of a story but that's the truth, is the boring reality of being a hybrid in this world, I see the stories people come up with and I do get a little jealous, I wish my life was that adventurous, but I'm happy with how it is, is as fantastical as the real world can get I guess lol"

This issue is not occurring when I age the sim down to a child though?!

And when I removed all my CC and mods to see if this was just a game bug, the issue didn't persist. So some mod or CC is definitely causing this issue. 🤦

Literally only teen- elder faces are disappearing, and it's only on newly generated sims in CAS (like when I add a new person to the household by the + button). None of my already-existing sims have the problem (like ones saved to my gallery bin), and when I first open CAS the generated sim that comes up does not have the problem either. Interestingly, if I reset the sim's face with one of the game's provided faces, the issue goes away, but then I have to manually adjust every fuckin sim and we're not doing that lol. In other words, I can't even take two sims with faces that are fine and generate a teen+ or else they'll have no face.

However, the genetics feature does work in CAS for infant-child, but as soon as I age them up to a teen BOOM their face is gone! 🤬

So this is clearly a very specific issue I'm having and it just started yesterday (to my knowledge). But here's the kicker friends: I removed everything I downloaded yesterday and the problem still persisted. UGH. I have a suspicion it has to do with sliders but I have no idea (I recently did a Sims4Studio batchfix on sliders yesterday or the day before and now the game is acting wonky...I'll be pissed if that is the issue but that's what I'm trying next).

Anyway, I'll update you guys when I find the issue... but this is why I haven't posted the sim dump I want to post (I don't want to impart this issue on to anyone else) and why I'm behind on messages and asks (sorry guys I'm not ignoring you I'm just knee-deep in problem solving mode).

Just gotta bitch and say that sometimes I hate this game and how fragile it is. I'm exhausted and I feel like it breaks every couple of weeks. Makes it very hard for me to enjoy playing when I already have so little time to play as is, and I spend a lot of that time repairing the game and updating mods. Okay I'm done complaining now.

I can tell this is aimed at TS4 haha I had to google Alpha CC to check I knew what it meant - So semi-realistic? I mean obviously I lean towards Maxis Match, but if I like how something looks I’ll use it even if it’s not from the same style.

No, that actually happened to Klothilde because she kept eating fish and it takes so long for them to eat fish that she got fat after eating it once lol - But TS2 fat meshes aren’t even really fat, so it doesn’t make much difference to me heh

Only for placing deco things, cause I don’t want to end up placing a chair or something that’s actually inaccessible and not find out until after I’ve built everything else around where I placed it

5. Favorite mod?

No Red Pause Lines, cause it’s 500x more annoying if I have to crop that out every time I take a screenshot

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

University, I pretty much got all the TS2 stuff as it came out heh

aLIVE, but I think about it more like how a TV show says “We’re live” or something since that’s where the game actually progresses in time

Cirrus! There’s some close seconds, but Cirrus actually has history in my game versus just being a face I liked, and the way her parents’ genetics created the little side smirk she has that I don’t think I could recreate in CAS

9. Have you made a simself?

I did when I was 13 - I was exactly at that age where child sims felt too young to represent myself, but teen sims felt too old. I went with a child sim just for the proportions lol but yeah that was the last time I was interested in making a simself.

Both, I like building but I like to play the lots I build. And when I’m playing, I think of what kind of builds would be fun to play, and so the gameplay also inspires my building.

Kind of? I’ve made clothing recolors, makeup, hair recolors, etc. but I haven’t done anything besides sharing lots/sims in a while.

Not particularly, I have mutuals that I always like seeing on my dash/activity but I’m not the most talkative person on tumblr lol

Technically yeah, it’s my “personal” YT account but 90% of my videos are of The Sims.

I used to do more semi-realistic CC, just based on what I’d accumulated and liked the look of at the time. I still have a lot of that CC in my Downloads, I just don’t use it as often anymore as more recently downloaded Maxis match stuff.

Ooh that’s a tough one, @platinumaspiration​ comes to mind cause I really love how bright/colorful a lot of their CC is and I like a lot of the clothing/hair styles :)

I explained it here sort of a few years ago, but I have a newer version of Photoscape and I don’t have access to Photoshop anymore. I still do the highlight/shadow tweaking stuff, but I use Photoscape to do that now.

Well obviously that’s not a question for TS2 lol but something that both TS3 and TS4 have that would’ve been cool in TS2 is careers that you can actually play/interact with instead of the sim disappearing for 8 hours.

Nightlife, I love everything about the themes/aesthetic/gameplay, it has objects/features I use more than any other EP to this day, it’s just exactly my style.

I was tagged by @autonomousllama and @cactusblossom, thank you both for tagging me and I guess I am getting at this late but here it is!

What’s your favourite Sims death?

The old age death because it means a sim has lived like and are gently passing on! I also love that they give a little salute like “It was fun while it lasted but PEACE!” if I have a chance to give a salute and famous last words before I die I know I would!

Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Maxis Match not because it looks better but because it blends in with the game.

Do you cheat your sims weight?

Never! 

Do you use move objects?

I imagine it is hard not to when you are a competitive sims player lol.

Favourite Mod?

Hmmm, this is hard. I will say Wicked Whims though. I know, I know, you all think i’m super horny over here but really sex is a big part of life it is, one can argue, one of the most important aspects of life itself as one must have sex to create life (kind of at least) so WW really expands on that. Just get rid of the sex animations it adds, ignore that completely, it still adds an indepth menstrual system, attraction system, fertility system, etc! 

WW actually determines how many kids my sims will have for example since some are naturally more fertile than others so yeah!

2nd place is MC Command which is great for just having more control. I mostly use that to make over townies when I see them lol.

Oooh, I actually don’t make many sims since I play legacy and just rely on genetics but I will say Araceli! I made her when I relaunched a legacy and I spent so much time on her! I loved her! I thought of bringing her back in some form so we might not have seen the last of her actually!

I have for the fun of it but i’ve never played it. I hardly make myself in games. I just always think of a character I guess.

I’ve been a Sims 4 OG as the kids would like to say and my simblr has really flunctuated in all that time. I’ve had posts getting 100s of likes to now just around 10 lol, I’ve come full circle!

It’s kind of sad because @floofymilk-blog was a real good online friend I had known for years and she was someone you saw constantly liking my posts and commenting at first and she has completely disappeared from like...everything. So yeah T_T, from discord, from steam, from switch, and I always wonder what happened to her and seeing that post and seeing her in the notes there just makes me sad but...she was the biggest AC fan I’ve ever known T_T and a big Sims fan too!

She was Japanese and disappeared before the release of Snowy Escape and I wonder if she would have loved that pack :/

How do you edit your pictures?

I used to do A LOT more but honestly, I just gave up lol. Now I just use a reshade, add a border, and move on. Lazy, I guess? But I’m posting legacy content. What is called a Plotacy. If I hung up on editing every single picture it would slow me down a ton. You can see the story content I tried it was a lot more edited!

Postcards from Snagglepuss

So how did the storytelling around the bonfire go?

As mentioned previously, reader, yours truly and companions of Crazy Claws decided to have a bonfire on a recent cool evening at CC's Lake Delton retreat, drinking on hot mulled apple cider, staying warm--and swapping a few stories. Nothing of the horror sort, know, because with Scooby-Doo getting hackneyed (or so it must seem), we didn't want to muddy the waters seriously.

As well as spoil things with some of the better moments of autumn, Thanksgiving in particular, coming along as well.

(Oh, and did I mention my winter diving vacay with Peter Potamus and His Magic Divers somewhere in the Caribbean?)

At any rate, think of our bonfire conversation as a "bull session" of sorts in the face of a misty autumn's evening, just letting ourselves be ourselves story-wise. And while Crazy Claws really sent us laughing with his pun-driven tales of past romance as went nowhere, yours truly matching such with all the attempts with Lila and the odd run-in with Betty Makaska ... followed by Pixie and Dixie taking things close to off-tangent with their plantings of genetically-modified catnip to give Jinksie disincentive to chase "those meeces" ... perhaps some of the weirdest tales had to come from Touché Turtle, who (as Dum-Dum explained it once) can tend to take things a little too far, and "probably to attract attention," naturally enough.

And perhaps the finest specimen Touché offered was when he was walking casually down the street with Dum-Dum in some seedy neighbourhood, and, noticing a couple of children in distressing circumstances playing outside, was led inside by a girl who could not have been younger than nine years of age ... and for some reason, Touché's bent-tip foil managed to pick through the lock of what turned out being something of a Chamber of Horrors in the form of a rather vile, smelly, unkempt even, bedroom which had no less than six children sharing same. Dum-Dum and Touché led the victims out, pretty much all of them wearing filthy rags, and Dum-Dum arranged for the police to take the children over to the local shelter.

And as it emerged, Touché revealed a "tip of the iceberg" scenario: That particular house they entered was found to be nothing less than a sheer House of Horrors, especially with such adult figures otherwise supposed to be in charge out for some reason and basically leaving the kids in charge. Yet Touché and Dum-Dum were somehow modest about "doing what they had to do," for it emerged later that such was nothing less than an ur-studio for child pornography, and on The Dark Net even ... and were those behind the setup ballistic(!!) when they found "their darlings" removed from the house and the premises raided and plundered, not to mention invoking Ayn Rand!!

(Fortunately, Touché and Dum-Dum were at the offices of Child Protective Services to assist in the enquiries and give details, and soon afterward asked to leave town "to avoid possible reprisals." Followed by a few days somewhere in the Otter Tail Lakes region.)

Touching, I had to acknowledge ... yet I had to wonder how it was possible for Touché Turtle to use the bent tip of his foil as a lock pick.

"You just pick up on these things somewhere," Touché was quick to add.

I thought I’d share a little bit of my personal process for how I randomize sims to get my base populations. This has become my absolute favorite way to begin a new save and I actually have several going that I don’t post, I may eventually get some of those uploaded as well, we’ll see :) 

My grand plan is to save a copy of the first born from each of my families in each save and use them to begin a save that has a little of each of my favorite simmies in it, but who knows, that’s a waaaays down the road if I actually do it. 

Here are the spreadsheets I use to keep track of rolls, I just use a generic number wheel online, nothing fancy.

I don’t really mess with the sliders, that takes absolutely forever. I have also figured out that the eye presets (the first 8 on the main page) are the most realistic (aside from purple bc that’s super rare in real life). And some of the body hair options are extreme (due to werewolves) and not everyone will have freckles or beauty marks. So I spin 50/50 first on those and an asterisk is used to denote those without body hair, facial hair, or beauty marks/freckles of any kind. As for the eyes I use the asterisk as a placeholder to role 1-8 for eye color, those without the asterisk will have a chance of the original 1-8, but the pallet is expanded to the full preset available under the color swatches/wheel.

Spinning for the females in this particular population sims 1 and 2 have the same skin. To demonstrate the difference between them even with the same skin I used the same base sim to apply the rest of the randomized genetics.

In this case they happened to have similar hair color, I was hoping one would be blond or something. To give you a better idea of how different randomized sims from the same base can be, Sharon Cortes and Brianna Pollack share a base sim, and Corinna Jones, Ida Lawton and Joanna McCabe share a base sim as well! This also gives you the idea of how much a cc skin can impact the tone ramp of a base sims tone.

Here is male sim 1 from this particular population! As far as actual skin tone, I usually leave the base sim with their original tone ramp and it just depends on how the skin they land with changes the actual tone of their skin. In cases where I’m not seeing enough diversity I will intervene and change some of the skin tones. I also prefer not to play with unnatural colors for skins so if a sim rolls that they default to my default skin (Kurasoberina’s Primer).

For body type where it is not really possible to count on the slider, I imagine the bar as ranging from 1-100 and divide it into fourths. So if I roll 25 or lower I eyeball on that where they would land and so on. As I said I don’t really adjust any other sliders for features I roll. When it comes to crazy hairstyles and clothing, my sims are stuck like that through a full rotation. As with Redwood Harbor my second pass through their household they have “earned” a makeover so to say.

Townie Makeovers: Don Lothario

I really didn't get how the EA version of this man ever got to be the ladies' man. So I gave him a lot of genetic tweaking to make him look attractive somehow. I'm not really sure if I'm happy with him yet as I'm really having a hard time with male sims. Help.

As previously mentioned, I moved out Don Lothario from the Calientes and got him his own little bachelor pad. Interestingly, he has no friends in the game and knows absolutely no one else aside from the Calientes. I'm thinking he should at least be acquainted with the Roomies and Johnny Zest at the very least?

I still have one household left to makeover in Oasis Springs and some stragglers and I'm done with base game makeovers.

How to Have Better Weddings without the New Game Pack - Part 1

By now, we all know the wedding game pack is broken. So if you're like me who's holding off on purchasing the game pack until it's fixed or until modders find a way to fix the game bugs, here is a list of custom content/mods for better weddings so we can still have our dream weddings in game.

Essential

The base game patch to add a new wedding venue is not available for wedding events, apparently.

Wedding Venue Bugfix by @lotharihoe - also makes the wedding arch required for weddings (because you can't get married without one!)

Gameplay

sitatweddings by bienchen - The most annoying thing about sims is that they don't sit and watch the ceremony. This might be obsolete for those with the new GP and I'm not sure if this will be maintained in the future as well.

Various Seating Fixes/Additions - also another seating fix from Mod The Sims. The updated version is in the comments and should still work for the latest patch.

Longer Parties & More Guests - This mod allows your parties to last up to 24 hours and gives you the ability to invite up to 200 guests. Please note that you can still end parties as early as you like by clicking on the event timer.

Better Community by Kawaii Stacie - This mod is good for making lots more full/diverse and for storytelling. You will be able to spawn more sims on your lots and pick which sims that spawn.

Cute Romance by @thepancake1s-mods - Adds the following interactions: Slow dancing and Dip kiss (used in the photo above)

Have First Dance at Wedding by SHEnanigans - adds a first dance requirement to the base game wedding event.

Resorts & Hotels Mod by Kawaii Stacie - adds resorts and hotels you can use for honeymoons (requires Vintage Glamour for some interactions)

Rambunctious Religions by lumpinou - adds religions to the game, also comes with pre-made lots if you want to get married in a church

Storytelling Socials by @lazarusinashesmods - an expansive mod that adds over 60+ interactions with an emphasis on storytelling.

Memorable Events Mod by Kawaii Stacie - Adds lots of cute events to the game that are not just wedding focused like:

Bachelor(ette) Party - This event lets your sims have their last night of freedom. Let them party with their friends and don't forget to tip the strippers!

Romantic Date - This event was created so that you can plan out your dates on the calendar!

Honeymoon - This event allows you to go on a honeymoon with your lover! You can invite friends and family! You can hire someone to watch your children if you bring them along, cook your food, and clean up after you.

Housewarming Party - This event lets you have the welcome wagon again except its people you actually know and instead of fruitcake or that island juice they will give you some household items on their way out!

Meet my Partner* - This event lets you meet your bf/gf or spouse...to your friends and family! Everyone will have different reactions to the news!

Moving Out* - This event allows you to break the news about your departure! Not everyone is going to be happy so expect things to get emotional!

Pregnancy Announcement* - This event allows you to announce your pregnancy to friends, family, and even your spouse... if you didn't tell him already.

Romantic Proposal - This event allows you to plan out your proposal! Hopefully, with all this effort you don't get rejected. Oh! You can invite friends and family to witness it if you like.

Sims 3 makeover: the Cook family from Bridgeport

Lady Cook, Elspeth Cook, Jeffrey Cook and Cressida Wells

I've been making over Sims to (in my opinion) better match their described favorite colors, personalities, and make them look a little nicer. I actually did all of Sunset Valley and I realized others might be interested in seeing them, so maybe I'll post them later. :)

Let me know if you'd like to know where any of the CC is from, I should hopefully be able to track it down.

I also changed their descriptions a little bit and fiddled with some other things - see below the cut:

So, the description says Lady and Jeffrey dislike each other. In-game, that's not the case, so I used nraas to make them hate each other, LOL.

Here are my updates of their personality descriptions:

Lady: Lady Cook doesn't particularly care for her husband, but she does love the life that comes with him. When she isn't busy being pampered by the family's live-in spa specialist, she can be found downtown shopping at the fanciest stores.

Elspeth: Elspeth hasn't been raised in an ideal household, to say the least. She wants some kind of revenge on her parents, but would the best revenge be to live an honest life?

Jeffrey: Jeffrey isn't an evil politician, but he's not unselfish, either. He uses his reputation as a highly-regarded and trusted official to fulfill his personal agendas. When push comes to shove, you can count on Jeffrey to bend.

Cressida: When Cressida moved to Bridgeport, she took a job as the Cook family's live-in spa specialist. She's not blind to Jeffrey and Lady Cook's shenanigans.

Some other notes:

I didn't change any traits with this household, but I have with previous households. Their traits match what's listed on the wiki still.

I did a new outfit for all 5 - 6 outfits for each person. Thought that might be a lot to post, but maybe in future posts!

I also redo all the sims' houses to match their personalities and descriptions better. I'm not done with that for the Cook family yet.

I haven't been changing any of the sims genetics, and don't plan to - I want to see how I can change their looks with just CC.

I generally like Maxis-matchy stuff.

I still have over 170 files left to verify in my medieval downloads folder, and more CC to add after that (which will be added much more carefully, one set at a time!) before I can get back to business. It’s been a year. Bad and uncooperative CC is the work of the devil. Once I finally get that resolved, I still have about 6 subhoods of sims to makeover (ST, RBH, VV, and the three colleges), and half a dozen more homes and businesses to build and remodel in BDC before I can consider playing. On the plus side, I have been playtesting some of the mods in my modern Ubermegahood, and I have had loads of time to think about rules and make my little spreadsheet. I still need to make some good tax/treasury and subhood status pages, fill in a couple of occupation pages, and maybe add a true census page—I have this in my modern Ubermegahood’s spreadsheet, it’s a quick reference of number of sims, with counts for gender, orientation, aspiration, genetics, zodiac, etc. Overall the Megakingdom spreadsheet is doing nicely. I should probably add official MCC tax record pages for each family but that sounds like a lot.

And just today I started thinking up some monarch behavior guidelines based on a combination of the good or evil trait and aspiration. For example, a Good Fortune monarch is going to work to improve the economy and wealth of the whole kingdom, while an Evil Fortune monarch will raise taxes aggressively and dip into the treasury for personal use. I think a Good Family monarch cares about their family members and tries to do what is best for them, while an Evil Family monarch is overly concerned with having a large number of heirs and will have affairs and acknowledge their bastard sons even if it hurts their spouse, and will push for beneficial matches for all family members whether the sims like each other or not, for the good of the family. A Good Popularity monarch tries to get to know as many kingdom citizens as possible to understand their needs and do well by them; an Evil Popularity monarch throws parties and tournaments without a care for the cost, insisting on being the winner and the center of attention. A Good Romance monarch showers their spouse with gifts and dates, and prioritizes love over status when making matches, both for themselves and other sims; an Evil Romance monarch has constant affairs and will punish anyone who tries to stop them. A Good Knowledge monarch will sponsor schools and universities for the kingdom, and apply what they learn for the benefit of all citizens; an Evil Knowledge monarch will ignore the kingdom in favor of their studies, and considers their subjects little more than potential test subjects. A Good Pleasure Monarch enjoys luxury and spreads that enjoyment to those around them through parties, community buildings, and the like, while an Evil Pleasure monarch will shirk their duties in favor of pleasure, and hoard luxuries for themselves.

…I’m also considering tavern names, and debating whether my previous plan for the gentry Capp family of Tybalt being the heir with Consort as regent makes any sense, or if I should cut my losses and start planning on Kent being the lord here. (…either way, the Capp family clearly followed Veronaville’s old matrilineal traditions before the king imposed patrilineal law on them. Contessa recently purchased her title—which is the inciting incident that escalated the rivalry with the Montys, unbalancing their rivalry—and obviously favored her eldest daughter. And also obviously, by Megakingdom law they could not name a daughter as heir when there are male heirs available. So my choices are a. Contessa chose to name Tybalt her heir in order to get as close to her daughter inheriting as she could, and was allowed to do this for reasons, possibly because she just got the title, or b. Kent is the current lord, and can either claim his position properly or abdicate in favor of Tybalt once Tybalt comes of age to honor his mother’s wishes. I don’t know what I want to do! Good thing I still have ages to figure it out I guess.)

Mostly I’m just bored right now and wish I could spend every waking moment fixing my dumb CC so I can some day finish and play, instead of going to work. How am I supposed to obsess over anything when I have to work.
