my very convoluted thought process! enjoy some word vomit! i was especially indecisive on her haircut and how to incorporate some glitz and glamour :/

she’s not as fancy (i.e. jewelry and expensive clothes) as i would’ve wanted her to be :( but i looove tomboy nami a lot so i still really like her outfit

the nami on the left is more of a restyling meant to stay pretty close to her canon design, just so that i could gauge what it was about her og look that i did and didn’t like :0

i’m a little angry at myself for keeping the bikini bra, cause i’ve seen really cool nami designs that aren’t blatantly “sexy” and make her a cooler outfit with a garment other than a bra. but also! she’s chubby! she’s transfem! she’s a lesbian! she’s a criminal! let her be sexy! for the ladies! and for herself! that’s cheesy but idk that’s my thoughts on it

i also think the teal aviator jacket is pretty ingenious! i guess i kinda wanted to give her a similar vibe to kiki from kiki’s delivery service. like how kiki’s both a mail delivery girl and a witch, and now nami’s both a pilot and a witch! idk… does that make sense??? i just have this very vivid imagine in my brain of nami using the clima tact like a broom to fly… but that’s what zeus is for…? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Lil details about Emily's cardigan under the cut!)

I have this lil HC for Emily that she has a cardigan and she embroiders lil things that remind her of her friends/family, so here's the details for the ones I put in:

(From left to right)

Fairyrose and the snail: For Jas and Vincent because she has a soft spot for the kids and how could she say no when they asked so nicely to be on her cardigan? She loves having everyone included!

The gridball and skateboard by the snail: She added it after Sam and Alex were (jokingly) like "Wow you added the kids before me?? I've known you so much longer-", so now that snail is the coolest snail in town with a skateboard and gridball

Daffodil: For Sandy, of course! She loves going to visit Sandy and the two of them will embroider together sometimes. (The headband she has with the embroidered hearts is from Sandy)

Sunflowers: These were the first things she added to her cardigan, they're for Haley because, despite their constant bickering, she does still absolutely adore her sister

Blue Chicken: For Shane since he's one of her close friends, it was also mentioned once that he tells her stories about the chickens so I like to think she's at least aware of the blue chickens-

I'm pretty sure by the end of the project everyone in town would probably be a part of that cardigan, Emily likes when everyone's included-

A character reference sheet sort of thing for the main character of the Poll Adventures, drawn more in my usual style (taking a picture of messy pencil sketches then coloring it digitally lol) rather than the cutesy ms paint style of the daily poll images .. there he is.. the adventure boy..

#paventure posting #sketches #I haven't drawn for real in a long time.. I forget how much I dislike coloring lol #I think if I did Neat Digital Art Lines that you can color in with the fill bucket tool it would be different but #since I can only really draw on phyiscal paper with a pencil and then just put that on the computer the lines are all too #messy for that to work. So I basically have to color it all coloring book style which is tedious #Honeslty I really like... physical art. like sculptures. and I like pencil and pen sketching . But I really dont like #most digital art at all. The exception is in MS paint for some reason. I think because I can use the bucket fill tool lol #and the pixelly lines give it some texture still. My main problem with digitial art lines is that they don't look like pencil on paper they #'re too “clean” like no scratchy messy texture looking stuff. Which I know you can use different brushes. I've tried. it just doesnt #have the same feel to it. ANYWAY.. Definitely need to practice more hjbjhb.. my anatomy and drawing fabrics and stuff #has gotten much more wonky than it used to be I think. but I've just been focusing so much more on writing #than drawing. Or only drawing the occasional sketch that goes along with writing (like worldbuilding stuff)#aside from Ms paint stuff I probably haven't really DRAWN like a full body sketch or face #or anything like that in maybe a year or more. yoink #OH ALSO i know his boots are different now because the poll voted to give him new boots ghjhbjb #I drew this before then. I actually thought more people would vote for the coat ToT #I wanted to draw him in a cool robe or something and have that be an addition to his outfit #instead just the shoes change. which aren't even visible in all drawings :(#A little purple outer coat. his favorite color. But alas.#And yeah the string that laces up his main tunic coat thing is technically like a tan yellowy sort of color but I usually #just draw it as black because it's easiest. especially with ms paint and doing really thin lines #also his hair is a little ridiculous and doesn't translate well from chibi type image to realistic but I tried gh.. the bangs lol...

I am better off not seeing how badly Tumblr messed the quality... Had this in my WIPs for a couple of months, I can now rest.

Some added headcanons under cut!

- The Byrgenwerth nickname comes from her occupation - to catch small weird creatures lurking all over Byrgenwerth, Woods and even upper layer of Dungeons when scholars are let there! They are offered for a vivarium, and sometimes exploration/experimenting. She has almost supernatural ability to catch even the most well-hidden ones, though most of them are certainly not bugs... Not anymore.

- Ended up as a Byrgenwerth scholar as she's been searching for a brother she never seen but knew existed since she was an orphan kid, and hints led somewhere in Yharnam.

- Remained naive, trustworthy and friendly to a fault through whole course of her life (and beyond). In my 'official' timeline Yurie has always been there to follow her like a shadow and protect her, however in alternative timeline I like to think of, Edgar takes that role instead.

- Found true enlightment when Micolash "disowned" her and cursed her for having even found him and "ruining everything"; feeling of having no family anymore paired with attempt to die by imbibing too much 'water' guaranteed audience with Kos. This gave doctors the hint that feeling of being orphaned is the best way to attract Great Ones, and orphaned kids provide the best kind of such despair!

- Micolash knew most of the Choir could never have guts to do what it really takes to break from the chains of this world and parted to form the institution on his own, but Rom chose to stay to try to save the 'doomed' group and help them to not stray too far from the right way since the real Great One behind Ebrietas is too incisidious.

- Known as an idiot God for both not realizing what huge power she possesse and for remaining a mutant Great One unable to be reborn because she can't let go of humanity completely. The latter Micolash hates her for.

- Children of Rom are product of Blood Dregs getting anywhere near Altar of Despair! You know, altar that revives Annalise if you put her flesh on it. But the cells within Blood Dregs do not have a mind to persist, so they can only be reborn by her as copies of her. Missing blessing of Kos though, so they are just spiders, without marine side.
