Episode 200: Maia Kobabe
For their 200th!!!! episode, Elizabeth and Flourish are joined by artist, author, and longtime Fansplaining collaborator (and fan!) Maia Kobabe (@redgoldsparks) to celebrate the occasion. Topics discussed include the fandom elements of eir graphic memoir, Gender Queer, the pleasure of creating fanart while working as a professional artist, eir experiences in K-pop fandom, and the secret to making friends, whether fellow fans or a pair of podcast hosts (spoiler: make art for them!) (like the cover of this episode—thank you, Maia!).

There’s a huge difference between teaching religion and practicing/preaching religion in schools.
Religion is a part of social studies and history that should be taught to children, as it’s involved in, and in many times is the basis of, huge world events and conflicts. We should absolutely be exposing children to the various different religious practices throughout the world and giving them quality information on what religion is and isn’t so as not to be influenced by the misinformation spread by religious extremists and bigots.
However, acknowledging and teaching about religion in school should absolutely not include the act of praying or persuading. Children shouldn’t have to swear their allegiance to their country every morning under a god they don’t have the information to decide whether they believe in, or listen to their teacher or coach preach and pray before they learn or play sports. This is completely different from and is outside the realm of education.
So, when I say religion should be kept out of schools, I don’t mean it shouldn’t be taught.

hopping around different blogs is fun.
a post on blog 1: i find it a little weird that -- don't get me wrong, the barbie movie looks great with all the doll-like details, i bet the actors had great fun and i'd like to see it myself, but -- people are getting excited about marketing of this movie. they're acting as though mattel's 3985* deals with 837* different companies are something new, exciting and creative instead of... 3985 deals with 837 companies spanning many different areas! this movie is a commercial for a doll! isn't this kinda weird?
*numbers made up
a post on blog 2: i don't think any sane adult doesn't realize that this is a toy commercial! it's rather obvious.
a post on blog 3: boo hoo 'the barbie movie is capitalist propaganda' i don't give a SHIT marx won't fuck you. did you do this for transformers too? do you think only stupid girls who like pink need the reminder?
like, oooooh! things are happening!

Welcome ~
Hi everyone! Welcome to my lil corner of the Internet. I'll mainly use this to post Quotes & Poems(Either Written by Me or I'll Mention the Author) as well as writing prompts. I may even do book recommendations/reviews.
Things to Know About Me:
• I'm an INFJ :) So feel free to message me about anything, I genuinely enjoy helping people as much as I can. I'm not judgmental and accept everyone and anyone, I promise.
• I've loved writing for as long as I can remember. My only weakness is I can never find enough time to actually finish a long piece. So I mainly stick to poems and quotes. If I get inspired I write a paragraph or so following the prompt!
• I love reading, you guys have no idea. My favorite books are usually murder mysteries, cause I love the psychological aspect of them. I also don't mind fantasy and romance books, as long as they're meaningful in some sort of way.
• Music 100%. Along with reading, listening to music is my way of relaxing. My favorite genres are Pop(Including K-Pop and Desi Pop) and Alternative R&B. Although if I genuinely vibe with a song, then I don't mind whatever the genre.
• Adding onto the music aspect, I'm very fond of K-Pop. My ult group is Stray Kids. I also listen to a variety of other idols and groups(I'm too lazy to list them all right now).
• Lastly, I love thunderstorms. I mean, I like rain in general. It makes me feel safe for some reason.
I hope you enjoy my page! Lots of love, and u hope you have a wonderful day/night. And remember, stay unconventional. 🖤
