No guys don’t worry this young woman’s celebrity is going to be totally different. No yeah we’re going to do it right this time, she’s totally not going to be exploited at all. No i promise it’s different this time this teenager is totally in charge of her career, she’s not made to do anything. Yeah we promise we’re going to make sure this rapid rise in fame and complete stripping of privacy is not going to do any long term damage this time, she’s going to be totally fine this time

I want to say something after the episode.
Hen and Karen’s reaction was the perfect balance.
It’s hen whispering to her wife, we as the audience are allowed to see that moment but no one else does, and if they do it wasn’t meant for them.
And that is such an important detail. The two of them aren’t downgrading Buck, they aren’t making him feel small with the realization that Other People Knew Before He Did. It’s not taking away from his little moment or from the celebration of Maddie and Chimney.
It’s a small private moment between two queer woman about their friend who has realized something about himself that they already saw because they can see themselves in him.

hi! your dnd art is so cool everytime I see it. i’m really curious how do you blend your paintings? ik it’s a skill to practise but, do you have any tips? idk what program you use… but is it basically laying down flat color brush strokes then blending with a blend tool? is you blend tool a paintbrush/texture brush or an airbrush (my default on procreate is an airbrush but maybe I need to explore other ones). I just like that patiently look a lot. thank you!
hi ! omg thank you ! I work on photoshop cs6 and I mostly use the default hard round brush, but i also like to use corey brickley's brushes for texture (you can find them on twitter) and will switch between them
my current workflow is lines + flats + one layer to mark down the shadows & one to mark down the highlights, these don't have to be any particular color because the shadow layer i turn into a desaturated lilac and set it on multiply, meanwhile the highlights I usually make them orangey and use both soft light and color dodge (the latter w a low opacity because it's very harsh)
Something else I do is turn on color dynamics for the brush so it gets a little variation with every stroke!
but yeah if you want a painterly look I highly recommend the hard round brush, maybe at 65-75% opacity !

Ok that rolling stone article absolutely sucks and a quote in the article from the film and media professor they interviewed literally highlights how they missed the whole point:
“Viewers are very sensitive to [queerbaiting] because they are on the hunt to see themselves and when they feel that they’ve been suckered into watching something, it feels like being used,” Himberg explains. “Queerbaiting signals to queer people [that] ‘There are queer characters here.’ And so when that doesn’t pan out, you alienate people and bring up this sort of history of invisibility that has plagued television, especially around LGBTQ people."
Well, good news! If you came to 9-1-1 pre-Bi Buck because you thought there was queer representation, you might have been confused that it wasn't the two men you saw all those pictures and edits of. But! Look at all these other queer characters we got! A man comes out to his family in the first episode! And he's credited as a main! One of the main character firefighters is a lesbian with a whole wife who's a recurring character and everything!
Literally, fuck everyone who told us we were being queerbaited. Fuck this article for implying that we were being queerbaited until Buck came out as bisexual, thank you very much. This show has always been queer.

Buck didn’t ignore/abandon/leave anyone for a date.
Buck came home to his boyfriend after a tough day and they ate dinner together.
