What I really respect about Season 2 of Shadow and Bone is that Alina has multiple strong women of all different walks to lean on, she asks THEM for advice, and there are multiple men who seem to be trustworthy so far—Leigh Bardugo didn't just make Mal the only guy to respect Alina fully, which is all too common. Alina has not only a love interest that respects her, but a male ally who does as well, and it's not romantic (even given the plot situation ya know)

You know that feeling when you are like 3 pages into a book, know basically nothing about any of the characters beyond the barest introduction, yet already know exactly which one is going to fuck you up and have you fixated for the foreseeable future? All this to say I just read The Secret History and I knew before he’d even spoken that Francis Fucking Abernathy was going to break me and god was I right. I just shouldn’t be allowed to read books with sad gay redheads it removes almost the entire question of who my favourite is going to be, it’s just embarrassing at this point (examples include most notably Wylan Van Eck and Maedhros. Also honourable mention for Kaz Brecker and Feanor absolutely calling my immediate Henry Winter Apologist tendencies)

I have just finished my binge of Shadow and Bone season 2 and oh my goodness, I loved it! Some spoiler like thoughts under the cut for the show and books.

I absolutely adore Freddy and Amita’s chemistry. I gasped when we got the ‘I will have you without armour Kaz Brecker, or not at all’ Kaz and Inez seen from the book. Both actors played it to perfection.In fact I think Freddie was my MPV of the season tbh, he was scarily good, I got goosebumps during that scene with Pekka Rollins.

Tolya and Tamar are icons and I loved Lewis and Anna playing them.

Wylan and Jesper were cute, Jack and Kit had great chemistry.

I wouldn’t have minded the slow burn we got in the books though. In fact the addition to the casts for season 2 were just perfection. 

I actually didn’t mind them changing Mal and Alina’s story.

I wish we got more Nina and Matthias, I loved Nina's interactions with The Crows though. I want more of Danielle and Callahan.

I loved Nikolai - Patrick was everything I thought Nikolai would be.

I loved the show, and the actors but admittedly I prefer the crows so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the rumoured spin off to be true.

He's unstable, and can't make sense of his own head, let alone the additional one that had been poured into him hours before, but it starts to feel less like intense vertigo and more like there's a living,  gaping hole that his scattered thoughts can't fill up.

Crossover Rp - Grishaverse| Six of Crows/Shadow and Bone and Another Fandom

Hey I am kind if desperate to do some kind of to do some king of crossover Rp involving the Six of Crows characters and another fandom we both agree on. I have a full list of my fandoms I will put son here below. Any ships I want to keep within fandoms and I wasn’t to keep the characters within their own lore unless necessary etc, for example I really don’t want anyone asking for us to play characters from Six of Crows as characters from other fandoms and no comparing the characters from Sic of Crows to characters from other fandoms either, especially villains, it makes my uncomfortable, especially when Kaz, he’s too good for that and I desperately want to play Kaz for this.

For Kaz only ship I am comfortable with is Kanej, no exceptions sorry. I have a la list of ships and the characters I can play for other fandoms I will also put below, we can discuss which fandom to crossover with. If interested leave me a comment here or pm me, preferably both. If we’re playing more than one character each from each fandom we can discuss how we split that I am absolutely comfortable discussing who plays who outside of Kaz and Inej and I much prefer my rp partner to play Inej and I have a stronger muse for Kaz. I tend to lean into Kaz’s trauma and PTSD, etc, like I feel bad for him yes but he wouldn’t be him without that backstory so please be fine with me doing this.

Okay but Wylan Van sunshine who likes to believe the best in everyone and doesn’t like hurting people unless it’s like last resort understanding that his Dad would kill him with no hesitation and that a parents love isn’t always unconditional when KAZ dirty hands BRECKER who had killed multiple people, has one of the most depressing back stories ever, and has literally like stabbed someone’s eyes out betting twenty kruge that Jan wouldn’t kill Wylan because Wylan’s his son and a father would never hurt they’re son is wild. And super depressing.

Like Wylan is definitely one of the more light hearted of the crows but when Kaz and Wylan Inter at you realize how alone Wylan feels all the time. In Crooked Kingdom Wylan asks Kaz if he would actually trust anyone to help him because Wylan doesn’t and Kaz thinks that he can trust Inej.

Wylan genuinely believes that he can’t trust any of the crows for most of the series. When KAZ of all people trusts at least one other person most of the time. Like what?

That is incredible depressing in my opinion.
