Faith in Hope

The Kick out from Heaven hits the C.H.E.R.U.B. leader Angel Cletus hard. Collin and Keenie have to remind Cletus that all he needs is a little faith in hope.

Cletus looked at the hotel room wall with tears in his eyes.

His entire world, his life's work, and his trust in his superiors from Heaven had been shattered since that stupid encounter with I.M.P. He and his team, his very best friends – Keenie and Collin – had been banished from Heaven because of the death of a person – a soul. They had simply been thrown out.

It was so, so damn painful. And yet he was a good angel. A kind C.H.E.R.U.B. angel. How could Deerie, Bea, Beau, Honey, and Rachel be like that to him? They were all friends.....but now he was on Earth....along with his Friends Collin and Keenie. How was that fair?

What....what if he wasn´t a good Cherub Angel? What if....oh no....what if Lute or Adam or Sera and Emily heard about this....chaotic Situation? Cletus always wanted to collab with Adam - the first Man that arrived in Heaven and Lute - and he loved chatting with Emily and telling Sera some wonderful ways to improve the C.H.E.R.U.B Company Ideas. Now that he and his friends got kicked out of Heaven.....this daily wonderful Conversations would not happen anytime soon.

A soft whimper escaped Cletus as he let his head sink onto the desk. They had booked this hotel room on Earth—undercover, so to speak. He had been good his entire heavenly life…good…sweet. What had he done wrong?

"Cletus?"

Collin's voice broke the silence in the hotel room. But Cletus didn't react. Too much self-doubt and grief over being kicked out were gnawing at him… causing the fearless leader of the small team to block out everything that would have been good for his self-confidence, like a poor abandoned baby.

"Cletus! Look at me!"

Keenie's sharp voice, followed by the beating of the angel's wings, broke the silence again.

"Noooo… I don't want to! I'm a disappointment…"

"Cletus, you should listen to us, we…"

"We what, Collin? There's nothing we can do… we're here because of that stupid lightning bolt and… and… aaaand… I miss heaven," Cletus made a few whiny baby noises, his blue and white wings drooping sadly.

"Cletus! Now stop drownging in self-pity and look at us!"

"Yes, Cletus—you're our leader!"

Cletus sniffed as he heard his friends' words. The tears slowly subsided, and after a few moments, he looked up.

"Hmm…yes, that's true…I'm your leader…a pretty good leader…do you think…do you think Collin and Keenie…we can somehow get back to heaven?"

"Of course! We have to…"

"…just prove we're good cherub angels!"

Cletus sniffed again, dried his tears, and looked at his two friends for a long moment.

"That's true…if…if we do something good…we could get back to heaven aaaand get back to our jobs…what could we do…" Cletus tapped the arms of his chair a few times with the fingers of his right hand.

"Okay… guys… listen to me… what happens to the souls of good people…? That's right, they go to heaven! Now, theoretically, if we save a human soul from harm, we show that we're good angels… oookay!"

Cletus flapped his wings once and was already on his way to the hotel room door.

"Where are you going? Should we help?" Collin asked curiously.

"Do you have a plan?" Keenie added with a broad smile.

"I'll get us some Undercover outfits! For our mission… and I'll borrow the stroller from the hotel lobby… because we need it for the plan!" Cletus announced.

"So what's the plan?"

"It's totally simple, Collin. You and Keenie play the worried mom who accidentally drops the stroller, I'm the poor helpless baby, aaaand we save a man from… I don't know, getting hit by a car… it's totally simple!" Cletus explained, placing his hands on the doorknob once.

"And if we happen to run into Blitzo and his stupid, uncool, mean-spirited team of despicable friends, we'll show them who the better team is—who the better leader is—and… we'll get our revenge! It's I.M.P.'s fault we got kicked out of Heaven!"

Previous - First - Next Arc 7-Page 1 HELLSCARRED PROLOGUE PAGE HELLSCARRED ARCS 1-3 HELLSCARRED ARCS 4-6 The Cherubs have returned to Hell for the first time since their defeat during the last visit. While less equipped this time around, Colin, Keenie, and Kletus are determined to get some payback on I.M.P. despite conducting observation only for now. Yet, upon arriving, they are surprised when they see a familiar face: Loona, along with both Octavia and Havok. It seems the trio arrived in the Gluttony Ring after escaping Crimson, yet, it seems they are not off to a good start. Havok refuses to accept help and Loona, after being pushed, retaliates with insults. To the Cherubs, their work may get done for them and watch to see what happens next. Will Loona and Havok get along or end up fighting to the death, giving the Cherubs their victory? I love how Collin is the most timid/unsure/unsettled about Keenie and Cletus being so hellbent on destroying IMP, so I wonder if he'll eventually leave them or stand up to them with realizing what they're doing is wrong/only going to make things worse for them. :/

Also:

I find it interesting, and it's likely to show the greyness between Heaven and Hell when it comes to morality/how those born there act, but that the cherubs were the first to attack in the "CHERUB" episode, so they've dipped into wrath even before having the added anger and hate of being kicked out of Heaven; but if that is the cherubs in the trailer coming after IMP, we'll be seeing the lengths they'll go to for revenge (beside clearly making deals with humans and giving them a portal to Hell). O_O
