WE'RE GOING ON A SUMMER BREAK!

For a year and a half, this space has been active, posting multiple times a day with new recs, challenges, themes, and spotlights. While some of our mods have been here from the beginning and some have only recently joined, the team has decided that now is the best time to give ourselves a little break from this space.

With Stranger Things season 5 coming out this fall (hopefully), we're hoping to see a rejuvenated interest in Stranger Things, but especially Steddie! Our hopes for the renewed interest in the ship from new and old fans is that we'll have new life breathed into our beloved fandom. We've noticed fewer and fewer participants in our challenges and themes (varying depending on the task itself, of course), and definitely less recs overall being sent in. While this is the nature of fandom as the hiatuses grow longer, it does add more work on our team to keep the content flowing and fueling all of our readers out there! We think now is the best time to take a break so we can be at our best when we return.

For now, please continue to send in your recs and nominate your favorite authors! We'll be getting things set to start back up on August 1st, so new recs and nominations are always going to be accepted.

and another interesting thing i could think of would be san low-key being intimidated by people yelling (the drunk wanteez episode) or... people, in general 😭😭 (idk if intimidated is the right word im sorry). only bring it up because of that one time he went to a cute plushie store, and got intimidated enough by the people looking weirdly at him being there— that he ended up dipping and not buying anything

maybe its a cultural thing/the way i was raised, but like. if you like cute things then wgaf 😭😭 i could picture my mom going up to him and going like "y que tiene? es tu propio dinero y la gente va a hablar por hablar, tu compra tu peluchito"— what i mean is that people here dont really care about what strangers say or their judgement

(and since i bring up my mom here. there needs to be a study as to why many latam mothers are so fond of korean men like 😭😭 my mom likes to see a yt channel named "coreanovlogs" and is really fond of jhope bts + found san and jongho lovely, a very common liking apparently)

Hi!!!! They're headed to Chile today!! Did you see? I'm hoping that the LATAM Atiny have a wonderful time and make their exceptional posts and some of it will come through to my side of the world.

To answer your question - I don't actually keep track of the Atiny per se. My Sisters in Hottokism and others just amused by my on- going OMG YUNHO IS MY BIAS AUGH crisis tag me, but I don't know what is really going on in the fandom per se. Is there a particularly cool person on here that you think I should follow?

But I did see this today on instagram and I thought I'd share. I'm of two minds about this sort of writing. I'm not terribly sympathetic, because Korean women just have it harder, nobody acknowledges it and nobody gives women platform to feel this sorry for other women, so this is part of the whole Lonely Man Epidemic or whatever, Korean version, but the demand that men be really good looking is a really recent development that Idol culture is not unrelated to, so I'll leave it here.

And for your interesting point about "Who cares what the strangers think?" - This is a major thing that's hard to get out of in Korea. I suspect in most of Northeast Asia. Not being a nuisance to others and not being disturbing to the general peace is SO IMPORTANT. San embodies a lot of these core cultural values, so it doesn't surprise me that he would get self conscious like that. It's kind of why I love him. I feel his pain.

Please do not repost, alter and post, or sell these templates. I made them freely available so everyone can have fun making silly paper dolls!

each DCA has their own printout with all the parts of the dolls. there's also a page of optional silly upgrades, with different styles of faceplates. Each printout comes in a coloured version and a black & white version for friends who want to colour their own DCA paper pal, or for those of us (like me) who lack a colour printer 😂

OK, I wasn't there, I've only seen clips, but I can't believe the fans have not shut the fuck up already about wanting Mads and Hugh to act out their teenybopper rpf fantasies. It's fucking embarrassing for all involved. I would never attend a fan event again if I were them. At least people seemed to be normal with Mads at RDC6, but if Hugh had also been there, well, I can't be too sure.

What I really hate is that this is putting a bad taste in their mouths about what genuinely seemed to have been a wonderful, meaningful professional experience for them. The devoted fandom was an interesting situation for them as well, it seems, way back then, because they hadn't really had that experience before? But this behavior from fans is fucking creepy. It's sexual harassment.

Do people understand that this is nonconsensual behavior? This is every bit as violating as groping someone on the subway or telling your baristas to perform girl-on-girl for you while they're just trying to make their millionth goddamn cappuccino.

I was going to wait to post this here until I hit a week, but I gave myself a small stress free challenge to do one expression a day!

Color Wheel Challenge

How do I explain this? (Spoilers for Enstars Sanctuary story)

Sanctuary is the story of a guy who woke up in a strange world with weird looking monsters and empty streets with a guy who was his former theatre club president. Except the theatre club president (implied to be a bit of a cryptid except this world definitely has no magic) had somehow mentally regressed back to his five-year-old self, which is fine because he's a genius, and now the guy and his former club president have to deal with this strange place together. But the side story is that two of his friends are being shown around what is basically a cult disguised as an amusement park to indoctrinate people into believing they can become idols and apply to work in that industry. And there's also another side story in which the guy's other friend is being harassed by a middle aged man who's kidnapped their goddess, basically, and is also the mastermind behind the overarching plot in the villainous sense. Also, the former theatre club president's new team, specifically that team's leader, is perpetuating the idol cult because he's got a twisted obsession with idols and believes that to farm them is the only way they won't be discouraged by those with exceptional talent and skill.

But in reality, this is just the story of a lonely teenager who could only find a little bit of freedom to express his abandoned child self in a messed up system that another teenager (who is very smart but just doesn't understand human relationships) created because he cares about nothing but in reality cares about everything and perpetuates a cycle of constant destruction to keep his one obsession alive.

But even further than that, Sanctuary and the whole SS ARC is just a story of a bunch of high schoolers/recent high school graduates who want to sing getting tangled up in a very dangerous mafia-esque world and sometimes realizing that they should call the police or some law reinforcement but forgetting to do so every. single. time.
