Somehow, Lance ends up flying an alien baby back to the castle in Blue after her home planet explodes.

Somehow, said baby decides she only likes Lance and Keith.

Somehow, this ends up being ok.

 OR: Lance and Keith accidentally become a couple, defeat Lotor, and adopt a baby. It would've been a lot easier for everyone if that was the exact order in which those events occurred.

1) How many works do you currently have in progress?

well uhhh i have two fanfics in progress right now (altea rising and red skies) plus some other ones i’ve been planning for a while that i haven’t started yet. i also have a couple of original things on the backburner but i haven’t touched them in ages, whoops. 

2) Do you/ would you write fanfiction?

lol at the moment fanfic is all i can write honestly. it’s funny bc i was never really compelled to write fanfic but then voltron happened and suddenly i’ve written like 3 novels-worth of fanfic in a year i’m like....buddy. something about the characters/world just really inspires me, and i think most importantly it’s fun to write and i hadn’t really fully enjoyed writing in years so like ... i’m very grateful for that. 

3) Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

i don’t really have a preference. i enjoy holding a solid book in my hands and like, having physical copies of my fave books to line up on my bookshelf. but i also have a kindle, which is very convenient if i’m going on a trip or something...i also love a lot of functions it has, like being able to adjust the font/size of text & being able to look up definitions of words i don’t know as i read, etc.! 

4) When did you start writing?

i remember being like 8 or 9 years old and i was like “i want to write a BOOK” like...that idea was mind-blowing to me but i also had this revelation that i Could write a book if i wanted to. i think my first attempt was this story about a girl going to live with unicorns underwater (...i still have it)?? but yeah i didn’t really take writing “seriously” until i was probably about 11, which is when i started writing like actual short stories/novels so yeah!! 

5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

yes!! i have like a core group of writing friends in the fandom who have helped me so much with my work and i am eternally grateful for them. 

6) Where is your favorite place to write?

probably just at home in bed lol. that’s like the only time i get any privacy. 

7) Favorite childhood book

ooh it was probably a wrinkle in time by madeline l’engle, i used to read that book over and over again. it’s just such a wild book and such a surreal blend of magic and space and dystopia it’s just ... really cool. that book is my aesthetic. i was also really into watership down by richard adams, that book is really .... an experience. but yeah it’s just beautifully written and so intricate it’s like ... lord of the rings but all the characters are rabbits.   

8) Writing for fun or writing for publication?

at this point i’m primarily writing for fun. i used to be like really obsessed with the idea of being published one day, to the point where the pressure of it just became crushing and really bad for my mental health. like, after i graduated from college (where i studied creative writing) i felt about ready to give up writing entirely. i think focusing too much on being “good enough to be published” really has a negative impact both on your self-worth and on your work.

as i said earlier, taking a break from writing original things and just writing fanfic for fun has really rekindled my love for writing, honestly. once again, it’s made writing fun for me again which is something i hadn’t experienced since i was a teenager. for years it had started to feel like a chore because i was so worked up about whether i could become a published author. but i’ve come to realize that what i love most about writing is getting my own enjoyment out of it, as well as being able to share it with others and experience their reactions to it. i still would like to someday publish a book, that’d be super cool, but what matters to me most is being able to write things i enjoy writing. 

9) Pen and paper or computer?

computer, absolutely. my handwriting is abysmal and my hand cramps up so bad if i’m writing on paper (plus you have to type it up later which sucks). if i don’t have my computer with me i usually just use google docs on my phone, lol. 

10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?

ha ... yeah. as i said earlier i was a creative writing major in college so, lol. i also teach a creative writing class now for middle schoolers! 

11) What inspires you to write?

if i’m being honest a large portion of it for me is self-indulgence; i write things because i want to read them, lol. like, i just start thinking of a story and i want to get it down on paper so i can look at it and be like “nice.” but i mean, a lot of things inspire me! a lot of inspiration just kind of comes from being a human being, and a lot of my own experiences & emotions are what help me bring a story to life. and of course i’m inspired by all the media i consume: books, tv shows, movies, music, etc. whenever i write something i often have this sort of mental list of other media that inspire the story and the kind of atmosphere/mood i’m trying to capture. but also what really keeps me going is having friends who are so supportive and show so much enthusiasm for my work, that really means a lot to me and it always keeps my head up when i start to doubt myself.
