15 Sexy Vegas Wedding Romance Books
I can’t explain it, but I absolutely love when romance characters find themselves married and forced to figure things out with their new spouse. Vegas wedding and marriage of convenience are two of my favorite tropes for that very reason. I love the forced proximity that naturally comes with these situations, the tension, the growth in intimacy and feelings, and especially that moment when they…

Merry Pucking Christmas by Kelly Jamieson is available now!

My holiday plans? Boxed wine, flannel pajamas, and Netflix minus the “chill”. I hadn’t planned on getting off my apathy until after New Years—until I accidentally crash into my ex’s new girlfriend’s car. But it’s the motivation I need to flee to my Aunt Nora’s place in NYC for Christmas.
Colliding with a typically grouchy New Yorker isn’t my best foot forward. But sweet Jesus on a cracker, he’s a lickable, Viking-size hunk of hotness. As we somehow keep running into each other, I begin to believe I can shed the hurt and humiliation and be fearless.
Nils Axelsson
My holiday plans? Spending my hockey team’s break alone. My friend Nora, however, won’t let me escape her vortex of holiday cheer, and I find myself agreeing to take her niece to a Rockettes show.
I was expecting an awkward teenager in braces, but it’s the same woman who plowed into me in the elevator. A knock-me-sideways stunning blonde whose beauty and kindness hits me like a puck to the chest. The more time I spend with her, the more I want as much as I can get before she has to go back home. Unless I can give her a reason to stay.

Igor Bobic and Dave Jamieson at HuffPost:
Sen. Mark Kelly (Ariz.), a contender to become Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate on the Democratic presidential ticket, told HuffPost on Wednesday that he would vote in favor of the pro-union legislation known as the Protecting the Right to Organize Act. Kelly’s lack of full commitment to the PRO Act, as it’s known, has stood as a possible barrier to him becoming Democrats’ vice-presidential nominee, since labor unions are a crucial part of the Democratic coalition. Harris has become the presumptive nominee since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race on Sunday.
“Why would the Democrats even consider a senator for the vice presidency if the senator doesn’t support the PRO Act?” John Samuelsen, president of the Transport Workers Union, told ABC News. But Kelly on Wednesday made clear in an interview with HuffPost that he would support the bill if it came to the Senate floor, affirming enthusiastic support for labor unions. He is not listed as a co-sponsor on the Senate’s most recent version. “Unions loom large in our life, and I’m supportive of the PRO Act,” Kelly said, recounting how when his mother, a police officer, was injured, her union helped her recover. “I would have voted for it on Day 1,” he added of the bill. “I would vote for it today. I am, like a lot of legislation, working to make it better. But if it came to the floor today or any day going back to the day I was sworn in, I would vote for it.”
The PRO Act amounts to a sweeping overhaul of labor law that Democrats believe would make it easier for workers to form unions and bargain with their employers. Among other measures, the legislation would create stiff financial penalties for illegal union-busting; ban anti-union “captive audience” meetings at work; make it easier for newly unionized workers to secure their first contracts; nullify state right-to-work laws; and bar employers from permanently replacing strikers. But the bill has not drawn unanimous support within the Democratic caucus.
Arizona Senator and potential Harris VP pick Mark Kelly changed his position on the PRO Act, coming out in support of the PRO Act.

ANOTHER AU!? I know what you're saying... Gwen, you're nuts. But not only are you absolutely right, I think this one might be my most ambitious one yet. As a young nerd, there were two groups. The Marvel fans and the DC fans. And while the rivalry certainly has calmed down a bit, I was almost always torn. So, earlier in the week, I decided to do the one thing that every fanfic writer has tried at least once.
A Marvel/DC crossover.
But unlike the typical realm merger, to put it in Mortal Kombat terms, this is a universe where both properties coexist. For example, picture a group of people walking to a Big Belly Burger while listening to Just the Facts with J. Jonah Jameson. That's just a fraction. I have an ENTIRE starting cast as well.
Welcome... to Earth-812

Single Review: Thundermoon – Wild
Thundermoon are a synth wave, Electro-Queer trio from Edinburgh made up of K. Messer on Guitar/Synth/Backing Vocals, Shaz Jamieson on Keys/Vocals and Lorna Kelly on Bass/Vocals/Drum Machine. Today I’ll be reviewing their debut single ‘Wild’ which was released on 28th July 2023.
‘Wild’ opens with a synth powered percussive beat that quickly blends into a wider electronic melody, vibrant tones held and dropped, and big beats infused to create a solid instrumental backing. The vocals kick in, the first vocalist has a strong presence, their voice merges really well with the synthy backing, even as the distorted and building tones become more prominent. This is a surprisingly slow song, the vocals, the melody are all mid tempo, not too slow, but not too fast, it works really well for the track, just a solid and engaging track that just builds and fills you up as you listen to it.

“Reformatory Terms For Druggist Hold-Up,” Toronto Star. October 28, 1932. Page 2. ---- Brewer Gets 18 Months and Bartlett Six Months for Gerrard St. Crime ---- John Brewer and Allan Bartlett, who were found guilty a week ago of holding up H. B. Collins in his Gerrard St. E. drug-store on October 7, appeared today for sentence before Judge Emerson Coatsworth in men’s court.
‘This is a very serious offence,’ said Judge Coatsworth as he sentenced Brewer to 18 months definite and 18 months indeterminate in the Ontario Reformatory.
Bartlett, 17, already on parole, was sentenced to six months definite and 12 months indeterminate for his part in the armed robbery.
Not in the Same Class ‘These men are not in the same class,’ said his honor. ‘Brewer was the instigator of the crime, but Bartlett was on parole.’
Character references were supplied by several people for both of the accused. Defence counsel said that Brewer had a wife and three small children.
‘This is the first scrape he has been in. He is truly a victim of the time. I ask that your honor give him his freedom on suspended sentence,’ said counsel. ‘His gun wasn’t loaded, your honor; he only used it for intimidation purposes. He offered no resistance when arrested and offered to take the whole responsibility, even though his accomplice had a record.’
‘I know all that,’ said Crown Attorney Malone. ‘He has a good record outside of this armed robbery.’
But Judge Coatsworth said there was no excuse for such a serious offence. Last week he said: ‘These men are liable to imprisonment for life.’
Carried Revolver The two men entered Collin’s drug store and Brewer carried a revolver. Collins was told to hand over his money and he gave them $21. While the robbers were backing to the door, Collins called the police on the telephone. A speed car was on the location in a few minutes.
Frank Knuggs, a citizen, saw the robbers running from the store to their car. He took the license number and reported it to the police. A chase of 45 miles an hour ensued, and the fleeing car was brought to a halt when its tires were punctured by a police shotgun.
In his evidence Bartlett said that he did not know a robbery was to be committed. ‘Brewer told me he wanted to get a bottle of medicine,’ he said.
Brewer said he had no intention of committing a robbery when he entered the store. ‘The I pulled my gun on the spur of the moment,’ said Brewer. ‘I had been having a lot of financial worries.’
The police and citizens who took part in the arrest were highly commended by Judge Coatsworth for their efficiency.
‘Drunk’ Fined $50 George Cunningham was fined $50 with the option of two months in jail, by Magistrate Arthur Tinker in men’s court to-day for being drunk. He was one of the six charged with drunkenness.
Joseph Kelly was mulcted $50 or one month for insobriety. Arthur Carroll was fined $20 or 20 days for a similar offence.
Fred Anderson was remanded for sentence on a charge of drunkenness, handed over to Captain Bunton of the Salvation Aemy and put on probation for a year. Neill Jamieson has his liquor permit cancelled, was put on probation, and asked to report to Captain Mason of the Salvation Army.
Andrew Kococo was remanded for sentence fro being intoxicated.
Oscar and Francis Beauchamp, vagrants, were remanded for sentence in the care of Captain Bunton, who will help them to Fort William.
At first, Sam Solinksy, 72, was fined $1 or 30 days for vagrancy. This was later changed to a remand to the psychiatric hospital.
Onley Doivener pleaded not guilty to a charge of vagrancy. P.C. 182 said that accused got a meal at a Queen St. restaurant without paying for it.
‘A friend told me he would treat me to the food,’ said accused. ‘He ran away and left me there without any money.’
He was fined $5 or two days.
Remanded in Fur Case Eight men and one woman were remanded until Nov. 4 to answer charges arising out of the theft of a quantity of fur from the Lubek Brothers Fur Co., Queen St., more than a week ago. On their first appearance in court they were all put on bail of $10,000 each.
To-day was set at $10,000 for Max Beaver, Morris Rosenbaum, and Joe Valentine. The same bail was set for Matilda Reynolds, charged with having burglars’ tools. Young Abie Rosenbaum was also charged with having tools and bail was placed at $2,000.
Mike Pacello, Max Walsh, Jose Dorazio and Nathan Tusher, charged with shopbreaking, were placed on bail of $3,000 each.
Max Beaver and Morris Rosenbeum were each charged with shopbreaking, theft, and receiving.
Guilty of Receiving Judge Coatsworth found Same Feldman guilty of receiving thread and binding material that was stolen from a tailoring firm. The stolen property was said to have been taken from the factory in a lunch-box. Feldman was put on probation for a year.
Frank Silverman and Grail Rosen pleaded guilty to receiving thread and were put on probation.
Six other men pleaded not guilty to receiving and were remanded until Nov. 4 on bail of $200 each.
On a charge of criminal negligence, Percival Carter was remanded until Nov. 28 on $1,000 bail.
Joseph Roy was found guilty of taking a ring and $135 from a girl of his acquaintance. He was put on probation for a year when he guaranteed to pay her $20 a month.
Committed for Trial Roy Wood was committed for trial on a charge of forgery.
Arthur Vaughan, 45, was fined $100 and costs or 30 days for keeping a common betting house. He was arrested last week when Staff Sergeant George Eagleson and Morality Officers Jackson and Sunderland crashed in the door of his apartment on Eglinton Ave. They seized a number of betting slips on horse races.
A fine of $50 costs or 30 days was imposed on Harry O’Brien, 48, for keeping a betting house on Dufferin St. He also was found with slips in his possession.
Detective Johns said that James Dempsey, charged with fraud, would pay back the money in three months. Accused was put on probation.
Dorothy Kaslamshas, pretty Lithuanian girl, accused John Walters of running off with two of her pet rabbits. She said they were later brought back but one was dead.
‘I saw him in the kitchen and then he jumped over the fence,’ she said.
‘Who did, the deceased rabbit or accused?’ asked Mr. Malone.
After much laughter over the ‘tale of two bunnies’ the case was dismissed.
‘Swore He’d Kill Me’ ‘He had an axe over his shoulder and he swore he’d kill me dead,’ said George Titus, who is familiar to many as a one-armed violin-player who frequents Toronto streets, as he accused John Irwine of threatening. Titus said accused took his violin from him.
‘That was a mean thing to do,’ said Crown Attorney Malone.
Irvine then took the witness stand and from a paper parcel produced a long, curved iron bar.
‘Titus said he’d brain me with this,’ said Irwine, as he brandished the deadly-looking weapon aloft.
‘Please put that down before you hurt someone,’ cried Walter Breckles, court recorder.
The trouble arose when Titus was leaving Irwine’s house. Irwine claimed Titus owed him money. Accused was bound over to keep the peace for one year.
James Henderson was fined $10 or 10 days for assaulting John Dickson. Crown Attorney Malone was very indignant when accused admitted having rudely pushed a 70-year-old woman in his anxiety to get at Dickson.

Blog post 09/24/21
I’ll try to write and post my review for Wrong for him by Christi Barth sometime this weekend. I absolutely loved it! I signed up for an ARC of Hate me under the mistletoe by Kelly Jamieson. I also got the surprise to have been approved for an ARC of Attachment theory by Kayley Loring. YAY! But that means that October will be quite busy. Whatever.
