If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead

Still figuring out parts of Chapter 2 of ATRF so have some of my Star Wars Last Shot rewrite instead

For any normal pilot, the tunnel system within the Sinta Glacier would have been difficult to navigate, given its twisting, maze-like structure, but for the three Resistance pilots, it was easy enough. They had all flown through much worse.

The rendezvous point was not far from the tunnel entrance, and it was only a matter of seconds before they reached it. Ahead of Kelsa and Lyra, Poe swung the Falcon around so that it was just hovering below the maintenance hatch where their contact was waiting for them. At the same time, Kelsa maneuvered her X-Wing to one side of the light freighter, while Lyra took the other to offer the Falcon some protection.

“Alright, boys, let’s make this quick,” Kelsa said. “Lyra and I have you covered, but the sooner we get out of here, the better.”

Eulogy for a Soulsmith

The body was laid on a raft at the edge of Pure Lake, the traditional burial grounds of the Fishers Sect. She was surrounded by all the products of the Desolate Wilds; fruits, meats, and water drawn from Pure Lake itself. She was also surrounded by gifts and treasures, a basket of purple orus fruit, a blue white scale of pure madra with a star pattern forged into it, a scripted jar containing a green feather.

In her wrinkled hands she clasped a massive goldsteel fish hook and at her feet sat a construct with six spider legs curled under it.

As the assembly quieted the leader of the sect, Fisher Regan, stood to officiate. He gazed out over the diverse crowd that had come to pay their respects. There were many wide brimmed hats worn by members of his sect, but among them were the burnt orange and blue robes of the Twin Stars Sec, the leader of which sat stoically in the front row. Next to her on one side sat a man with yellow hair and a silver bracer who could only be an Aurelius and on her other side sat a woman with the emerald green wings of the Path of Grasping Skies. Even the Blackflame empire saw fit to pay its respects.

“Gesha,” the Leader of the Fishers began, “lived among us for 104 years. She was as wise as she was sharp, and wasn’t afraid to let you know when she thought you were being stupid. No matter who you were.”

A bittersweet chuckle rose from the crowd as he continued.

“She left us after more than a century to travel with a young soulsmith to the Empire proper. There she lived out the last of her years pursuing her passion for the art of soulsmithing with her family. She lived a long and storied life. We are gathered together here to pay our respects to an honored elder and lay her to the rest she has earned.”

The Fisher man stepped down and allowed the leader of the Twin Stars Sect to say a few words.

“My brother, the sage, spoke as often of Fisher Gesha as he did his own family,” Wei Shi Kelsa began, clearly still unused to public speaking, “And with no less respect than if he were speaking of a revered grandmother.”

Kelsa seemed to steady herself as her speech gained momentum.

“Lindon credits Fisher Gesha as being the one to truly put him on the path of the soulsmith. She was stern and quick to anger, but she was wise beyond even her years and she cared for Lindon as one of her own grandchildren. The Shi family, Wei Clan, and the entire Twin Stars Sect owe Fisher Gesha a great debt and for this debt we will support her clan as though they were our own flesh and blood. As she supported Lindon.”

There was a solemn nod from the attending sect members as Kelsa sat down again.

Several speeches and many tears later, those who had words to say had spoken and it was time for the body to be laid to rest.

Two highgolds strung fisher madra to the sides of the raft and set it adrift. Once it was far enough out, they pulled as one. The sides of the raft came loose and fell away, allowing the boat to sink into the lake. Only after the last of the funeral raft had sunk out of sight did the Leader of the Fishers stand again.

“We have laid our honored grandmother to rest. May we all seek to-“

He was interrupted by a blinding flash of textured blue light. Techniques were conjured by every sacred artist present, but there was no foe in sight. Instead, a pale, blue-white star plunged out of the sky and into the lake, the water retreating in a circle around it until it seemed like an invisible pillar sat in the middle of Pure Lake.

After a moment the hole in the lake began to move towards the shore where the funeral had taken place. Tension rose as it grew closer until the one making the hole had grown close enough to stand above the water.

“Apologies,” Lindon said as he carried the body of Fisher Gesha gently in his arms, “I was too absorbed in my duties.”

No one moved an inch. Everyone present knew Lindon and many had relaxed in relief while those who only knew him by reputation simply looked on in confusion as he laid the Fisher in the small stretch of sand that wrapped Pure Lake.

“I should have come sooner.” Lindon said sheepishly, “I never should have let things get this far.”

“It’s alright Lindon.” Kelsa said, “you more than most have the right to pay your respects.”

Lindon looked at her like she had sprouted a second head.

“Respects? She’s only dead.”

With that, the Reaper held a hand over the Fisher and sharpened his will.

“RESTORE”

There was a twisting beneath the world as his working took hold of the rules of Cradle and rewrote them. The world trembled for a moment, then stilled.

Fisher Gesha sat up with a gasp.

“GWAAA!” She cried as she looked around frantically.

The assembly was completely silent with awe. Lindon, on the other hand, bowed with his head pressed to the dirt.

“This one cannot apologize enough for his tardiness, honored Fisher” he said from his lowered posture.

Gesha seemed to strike without thinking about it, cracking a slap against the back of the sage’s head. “What have I told you about bowing and scraping? Some kind of heavenly messenger now aren’t you, hmmm? Act like it!”

“Of course, honored grandmother.” Lindon said as he stood. A small smile played at the corner of his mouth.

Gesha hit him again, though without her drudge to lift her she had to settle for slapping his chest. “And get that smile off your face!”

Lindon only smiled more broadly. “It’s good to see you again, Fisher Geisha.”

He turned to the assembled funeral goers, bowing at the waist, “Apologies for making you all gather here. I should have visited sooner.”

It was Cassius who broke the silence. “Welcome back, Lindon. Will you be staying long?”

“Apologies, but I can’t. The heavens are in turmoil and I can only spare so much time.” He turned to the old woman, “You’ll have to accompany me Fisher Geisha. I have some leeway with fate, but not enough for you to be able to remain here. You have time to say your goodbyes, but we can’t stay beyond that.”

After another round of goodbyes, this time with far fewer tears, the Reaper ushered the Fisher through a gateway to the heavens.

The list is incomplete for the foreseeable future, but everyone is welcome to add on to it. Especially because I had several ships planned that I didn't get a chance to add before I had to stop maintaining the blog.
