Is Kesten a kinda stick-in-the-mud who probably works way too much? Yeah. Did I like him from the very first moment he was introduced? Yeah...

My two very different Sarenites and their various love interests~
Queen Mircella [half-elf celestial sorcerer with one level of cleric to properly dedicate her to Sarenrae] and her Princes Consort Kesten and Tristian and paramour Jubilost; and Knight Commander Isanna [archon-blooded aasimar inquisitor angel] and her partners Hulrun and Regill.

Nooo he's so sad...
This hits Ainsel really quite hard, because they also aren't a part of their family--however gave birth to or created them abandoned them, and the family that raised them isn't related to them and would hate them if they knew that.
Edit: I changed Ainsel’s name to Liesel

People, about Pathfinder: it's a tactic combat rpg, focused only in that and strategies.
We, playing Kingmaker: A Medvyed envoy and an Orlovsky envoy come to the fledgling kingdom in order to tighten bonds between those families and the kingdom through marriages. The Baroness rejected the Surtova proposal announcing her marriage with the warden, Kesten Garess, while the Magistress (the magister is female :'v) arranged an invitation to watch the sunset in boats with one of the suitors, while the Marshall invited his suitors to horseback-riding, in order to evaluate their nature bond.
The only rolls in the session where sense motive, bluff, diplomacy and perception.

11 - 14 for nona pls ?? ;u;
thank you sam!! (ノ∀`♥)
11.  justice  :  does your muse find it easy to be impartial in emotional situations ?
It really depends on who is causing the emotional situation. If it is a conflict in her government between the Stolen Lands and an outside force (such as Pitax), Nona is able to put her own desires aside and come to a conclusion on what is the best solution. However, if it comes to something that involves her friends, she can be a bit of a push over and will do what she can to make her companion happy. For example, when Nortellara comes for Jaethal, Nona refused to allow Jaethal to be killed and pushed for her to pick the sacrifice to Urgathoa that best fit her own desires (rather than pick for her to stay undead or to become living again).
This is also a large part of why she forgives Tristian despite his betrayals. She enjoys his friendship and wants him to be happy, so she puts aside her own feelings of hurt. (I'm glad I wrote her that way though because if I didn't, I wouldn't have had ANYBODY for the councillor role lmao)
12.  the hanged man  :  how open is your muse to new opportunities ? do they constantly look for them or do they simply take whatever comes their way ?
It's not that Nona goes out of her way to find new opportunities so much as it is that trouble comes to her. The closest she got to seeking out trouble on her own was when she was a small child. She got lost in a cave while her parents weren't watching her. However, this was ultimately good as it led to her being rescued by a lampad that left her with the matronly bear that becomes her druidic familiar.
Nona's response to Jamandi Aldori's summons was more of a "why not" then a "let's look for something new to do".
She's more than happy to tag along, but she rarely goes out of her way anymore.
13.  death  :  is there anything in your muse’s life that they should be letting go of ?
The biggest thing in Nona's life (that occurs in game) she should let go of is her grief toward the death of Kesten Garess at the Womb of Lamashtu. She genuinely liked him and felt some attraction toward him. At the very least, she would have loved to have him continue as part of her city guard for Tuskdale or as some part of her army (not as her main general, but at least a captain of some sort).
However, she knew she had to go back to Tuskdale because she didn't have much faith in Jhod to be able to protect the capital and what is a barony without any people? She still had hope as well that Kesten could hold out long enough for her to come back to him. She feels genuine guilt for his death and wonders if she could have convinced him to not go.
Other than Kesten, Nona (in my opinion) could do with being less attached to Brevoy. She has never gone past the River Kingdoms as she was born in a village outside of Winterbreak. This makes Pitax the most exotic place she has ever been. I think if she wants to improve her skills as a Mystic Theurge, she could do with travelling.
14.  temperance  :  does your muse make plans ? how impulsive are they ? has this gotten them into good / bad situations and how have they dealt with them?
She likes to have a general sense of the future. For example, she knows she wants to turn Tuskdale into a cultural hub and will invest into ventures like Linzi's printing house regardless of immediate payoff.
With her personal life though, she prefers to have a vague idea and let instinct take her the rest of the way. She knows she wants to learn as much as she can about the natural world and deepen her connection to the Fey, but she has no concrete plans to do so and being Queen takes up a lot of her attention.
She also wants to work more on ensuring that slavery has no place within her lands, but she largely leaves that to Regongar and Octavia to deal with as she has no personal experience with the problem.

I started playing a Pathfinder Kingmaker campaign recently, and figured as an effort to write more here and to keep notes for my own benefit, I'll post updates here. I should note, these updates will largely be from my character’s point of view and will generally reflect her understanding of what’s going on. This post is fairly long, so I’ll hide the bulk of it under the cut.
I'm playing a half-alraune plant girl named Cybele, a LG* Verdant bloodline sorcerer/oracle of intrigue with the legalistic curse. She has hardly any experience with humans and generally has a sort of... I'm not sure how to describe it, adorable and childlike if somewhat horrifying innocence to her. I plan to play her as an intrigue-oriented seductress eventually, though it may take a little character development for her to really reach that point.
Cybele’s current goal is to help her friends establish a city, she’s very curious what such a thing would be like and wants to help fill it full of flowers and plants and make it a hospitable place for her. She would also like eventually to have her alraune mother meet her new friends, though with alraunen being typically evil-aligned human-eating plant creatures that may be easier said than done. Ultimately, however, Cybele wants to see alraunen and humans living together peacefully, preferably sharing the city she wants to help found.
Cybele was raised by her mother, a (human) blood-drinking flower with no regard for human life, and is still struggling to adapt to human sensibilities about things like consuming human corpses, for example. Despite this disconnect, she's made fast friends with her party and in particular likes Mia, an energetic young warrior with a similar curiosity and eagerness to explore. She also views Micaiah, the party's cleric and other healer, as a sort of friendly authority figure to whom she looks for both moral guidance and approval. Micaiah's disdain for killing clashes with Cybele's need to consume the blood of other creatures, but as Cybele doesn't need to kill to feed she can probably be taught to care a little more about others with time.
In our first session, the party had dinner in Restov, where they were given charters to explore and settle the Stolen Lands, which includes Cybele’s homeland, the Narlmarshes. After being given the charter, and a warning about a bandit lord in the area known as the Stag Lord (allegedly after his impressive endowment), the party had an exciting meal where Cybele tasted some human food for the first time (she can eat human food, but mostly for pleasure or social purposes; she derives little to no nutrition from anything other than blood) and got to meet her new comrades. They spent a week or so travelling back to the Stolen Lands, where they set up shop in a trading post inhabited by a trader, his wife, and two NPCs that we seem to have recruited. The party fought off a group of eight bandits with no casualties or even injuries and rested for the night.
The second session picked up not long after the first ended, with the arrival of a group of four guards dispatched to protect the trading post. The lead guard, a man named Kesten Garess, seems to have some troubled history with his family that Cybele neither understands nor knows much about, though she is very interested in it. The group (now slightly enlarged with the addition of one of the NPCs; the other remained back to help guard the post) set out on their first expedition to map the area. Specifically, they’re headed south to investigate a group of kobolds that have been causing trouble lately.
On their journey, the group found two things of note. First was a dangerous trapdoor spider lurking in a flat depression in the ground. Cybele got to find out what humans look like on the inside (there were human skeletons about), the party killed the spider, and we looted it’s lair, finding a dead bandit among other things. The bandit had what appears to be a treasure map, which the party pocketed and moved on. Second, the group discovered a ruined orchard filled with blackberry bushes, potentially a useful spot for a farm. Cybele surprised the group with her ability to speak to plants, and carried on a brief conversation with one such bush, which revealed that the orchard was destroyed by some yet-unidentified green-skinned beasts. Following this was a conversation with the party about the intelligence (or lack thereof) of blackberry bushes in which Cybele realized she has little understanding of how her own body works (specifically whether or not she even has a brain), a condition which she now seeks to remedy in time.
*I should note that while Cybele is now more or less LG, much of her previous life would best be described as some kind of evil. She did kill and consume humans for nutrition, even when other forms of animal life were available as alternatives. She’s now sworn off the consumption of humans, or at least those that she’s not willing to kill anyway; if a bandit attacks her she sees no reason not to feed on them once she kills them. That said, she’s mostly hopeful that her new friends don’t investigate her past too much. While Micaiah is a redemption domain cleric and would likely be at least supportive of her efforts to change for the better, Cybele still doesn’t want these people afraid of or repulsed by her.

An Expected Journey: Letter to House Garess
Tumblr media
25 Desnus, 4710 AR
To the Honorable House Garess:
I deeply regret to inform you that Kesten Garess has died. Enclosed with this letter is his signet ring, along with a locket that was removed from his person. I did not know Kesten for long, though having known his nephew, Handor, for several years at the Aldori Academy, I felt it was incumbent upon me to make your noble house aware of Kesten’s demise. Please know that Kesten died honorably. He helped my small party lead a charge against a small army of bandits, and continued to fight bravely after taking many blows to his person.
Though I did not see him fall with my own eyes, I was aware that he was taking an offensive position against the bandit leader, and when the battle was finally over and we were accounting of the dead, I believe it was a well-placed arrow that finally brought him down. Kesten’s presence was instrumental in the party’s ultimate victory, and we will do our best to honor his memory in the months to follow. I cannot say where I will be upon your receipt of this message, but should you wish to contact me further regarding Kesten’s death, the Aldori Academy should have the best idea of my future whereabouts. You have my most profound condolences.
Your humble servant,
Evrin Brazenbrook Aldori

More Pathfinder: Kingmaker fic this week… Kesten and Tristian having a little moment. I ship all three of them together but it’s going to take them a very long time to get there:
“Kesten!” Tristian’s voice rang across the throne room, sweet and clear like a church bell welcoming the morning. At any other time, Kesten would have been happy to hear it, but now he flinched and cursed internally as he closed the door to Mircella’s quarters as quietly as he could. Why did the priest have to be here so early? The only reason he was out of the baroness’s bed at this hour was to avoid encountering anyone at this precise moment. “You are an example to us all in your devotion to your duty,” Tristian remarked cheerfully as the fighter made his way to the council table. “Conferring with the baroness so early in the morning—what remarkable dedication!” Kesten stared at him blankly, mouth hanging open slightly in surprise. “Ah…” he said eventually. “That wasn’t… erm.” He shifted awkwardly, and color rose to his cheeks as he tried to find the right words. It was suddenly difficult to meet the priest’s pale yellow eyes, shining so beautifully as they were with the warmth of sunlight, and he had to swallow his nerves before stammering, “That was… ah, a… personal visit.” “Ah,” Tristian said brightly. “How wonderful!” He smiled serenely, blissfully unaware of Kesten’s discomfort, until his eyes grew wide with the horror of realization and his own cheeks turned red. “Ah!” he repeated in alarm, clapping his hands over his mouth. “Forgive me! Forgive me, I did not mean to pry—”

Well, here is a sappy bit of Pathfinder: Kingmaker fic featuring Kesten because apparently I am incapable of resisting scruffy knights:
“Stay with me to-night,” she said softly, unable to keep the longing out of her voice. His eyes widened slightly, and he blushed and kissed her again instead of answering. “I’d love to,” he said, but the hesitation that followed made her heart sink. “But?” she asked, moving her hands back to his breastplate. “I’m expected back,” he explained. “I don’t want my absence to start a panic.” She nodded slowly, then brightened and asked, “To-morrow?” “To-morrow,” he said, cupping her face in his hands with a smile, “I’m all yours, Your Grace.” She managed to suppress a giggle, but she couldn’t help but smile in loving judgment. “Call me Mircella,” she said warmly. “Please.” “Yes, of course, Your—” he caught himself with another blush “—Mircella.” “Your Mircella,” she murmured. They gazed at each other in adoration as she drew closer to him, and their lips met in another kiss. “Let’s enjoy the time we do have.”
