Saw my doctor today. I'm not well, only sleeping a few hours a night. He's scaling back one of my meds and adding another, bringing me to four total, and wants me to start looking into getting ketamine infusions while also preparing to start ECT. This is a lot all at once and I have very complicated feelings about it all. Please pray for me.

I miss writing. Getting out my intense emotions, relating to other people. I felt safe here. Over the years I've written less and less because words and thoughts just didn't make sense the way they used to. I couldn't hold my focus and just sit here and write for as long as I used to. Every sentence I lost my train of thought. So I gave up. Writing was impossible. Everything was impossible. My mental illness took over my whole life. What's happened? Ketamine therapy. It does nothing for my depression. It did at first, but here I am. Depressed. But for my schizophrenia? Wow. You guys, my memory. I cried for years because it felt like I was onsetting dementia. I couldn't hold conversations, I lost my train of thought every 10 seconds and had to constantly ask what I was talking about. I couldn't keep track of ANYTHING. Everything was misplaced. I couldn't remember anything from my childhood or earlier years, but the memories flood in now at random times. I love this. My memory still isn't what it needs to be yet, but it's ok. During my ketamine treatments, I can think. I can process what is going on in my life and then just put it away. Something I've never been able to do before. My whole mindset has changed. I feel like me again. I begged to just find myself again. I finally have.

So I did ketamine treatment again on Monday (yesterday). It was nice. I had a decent time. It is helping improve my mood, it's just everything else that is the issue now.
Today (Tuesday) I had talk therapy and boy did I talk. She caught me with tears running down my face which I didn't like. I don't like crying in front of people.. it makes me feel manipulative.
I then went and got my hair cut. So that was fun!! I quite enjoyed it.
Had a slight upset blow up with hubbs over something where he hurt my feelings by saying I'm not supportive but he said he was joking. I yelled at him with tears streaming down my face. Not cool, what so ever. Huge dick move. Don't need that shit in general but especially after therapy.
I'm going to do my color next week, I just don't feel like doing it this week. With everything that has been going on today, I'm at capacity.
I went to dance class. That was fun.

I've been doing a lot of life restructuring since the breakup and a lot of that is getting mental healthcare in place for myself because I do not do well with grief and loss and I was already holding on by a thin thread. I had a call this morning with a therapist who does psychodynamic work and I'm excited about it, I think it's going to be a good fit.
But I also had a consultation yesterday for getting ketamine and it was so interesting. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high because I've tried the cutting edge stuff before and I rarely get the promised benefit, but I have a good feeling. The things that the doctor described--feeling of total relaxation, increase in productivity, unlearning negative thought patterns, increased problem solving--god, I need that. But it was also kind of this weird thing to be discussing the psychedelic benefits of a tranquilizer that someone is going to be administering to me as I chill out listening to soothing melodies in a medical facility. Wild.
I start on Tuesday with the therapist and Friday with the ketamine. Wish me luck!

This week's ketamine treatment went ok.
I would've wrote about it on Monday but I wasn't feeling well. I had gotten sufficiently high from the treatment this time. Still a tad mild compared to Spravato but in a good way.
I then went to whole foods and got some cookies since I wanted cookies. Came home, ate lunch, made tea, watched a netflix comedy special, ate my cookies and then laughed so hard I puked everything up. Like it physically hurt. I did a reenactment of The Exorcist but like more. My throat a whole day later still is a bit off. I was physically drained. I did finish the comedy show though.
We took a night drive and popped over to Walmart to get a few things and just that exhausted me so much. My whole chest hurt and my throat was raw feeling. Like you don't understand..I had to keep blowing my nose because some had gotten up in my sinus cavities..and some is an understatement. It was bad.
Then hubbs decided to make a joke about how I got to enjoy the cookies guilt free. I hate puking. It's triggering and makes me feel awful. I don't think he knows that. How triggering it is for me. Like who enjoys puking, no one.
I just want to curl up and cry. I wanted to do that Monday night but was scared I'd make myself puke again.
Then Tuesday I did the grocery shopping. Bought a huge powerade zero because I was still not feeling 100.
I've been having a rollercoaster of a time lately.

Finding a Reputable Clinic for Ketamine Infusion in PTSD Treatment in Orange County
Tumblr media
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a complex mental health condition that can have a significant impact on an individual's well-being. While traditional treatment methods for PTSD, such as therapy and medication, are effective for many, some individuals may find limited relief from these approaches. Ketamine infusion therapy has emerged as a promising alternative to PTSD treatment. However, it is crucial to find a reputable clinic that specializes in providing ketamine infusion therapy for PTSD. This article will guide you through the process of finding a reputable clinic for PTSD treatment in Orange County, focusing on the key factors to consider and the steps to take.
Treating PTSD with Ketamine Infusion Therapy
Ketamine infusion therapy involves administering a controlled dose of ketamine, an anesthetic medication, through intravenous infusion. Research has shown that ketamine can have rapid and significant antidepressant and anxiolytic effects, making it a potential treatment option for PTSD. When seeking a clinic for ketamine infusion therapy, it is important to look for one that specializes in providing treatment for PTSD specifically. This ensures that the clinic has the expertise and experience necessary to address the unique needs of individuals with PTSD.
Research and Referrals
The first step in finding a reputable clinic for PTSD treatment in Orange County is conducting thorough research. Start by searching online for clinics that offer ketamine infusion therapy for PTSD in your area. Look for clinics that have a dedicated focus on PTSD treatment and have experienced medical professionals on staff. Reading patient reviews and testimonials can also provide valuable insights into the clinic's reputation and the experiences of previous patients.
In addition to online research, seek referrals from trusted sources. Reach out to mental health professionals, such as therapists or psychiatrists, who specialize in PTSD treatment. They may be familiar with reputable clinics in Orange County that offer ketamine infusion therapy. Friends, family members, or support groups who have undergone ketamine infusion therapy for PTSD can also provide recommendations based on their personal experiences.
Evaluating Credentials and Expertise
When evaluating potential clinics for PTSD treatment, pay close attention to the credentials and expertise of the medical professionals involved. Look for clinics that have board-certified physicians who are experienced in administering ketamine infusion therapy for PTSD. These professionals should have a strong background in mental health and should be knowledgeable about the latest research and advancements in ketamine treatment.
Consider the clinic's affiliations and memberships as well. Reputable clinics often have affiliations with professional organizations and associations related to mental health and ketamine therapy. These affiliations demonstrate a commitment to upholding high standards of care and staying informed about best practices in the field.
Facility Standards and Safety
The safety and comfort of the clinic's facility are crucial factors to consider when seeking PTSD treatment. A reputable clinic should provide a clean, well-maintained, and comfortable environment for patients. The clinic should adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain proper equipment for administering ketamine infusion therapy.
Inquire about the clinic's protocols for patient monitoring during and after the infusion. A reputable clinic will have trained medical staff closely monitoring patients throughout the process to ensure their well-being and promptly address any potential side effects or complications.
Consultation and Personalized Treatment Plans
A reputable clinic for PTSD treatment will offer a comprehensive consultation process. During the consultation, medical professionals should take the time to understand your specific needs, medical history, and treatment goals. They should explain the treatment process, potential benefits, and any associated risks or side effects. The clinic should provide personalized treatment plans tailored to each individual's unique circumstances, ensuring that the treatment addresses their specific PTSD symptoms and concerns.
Conclusion
Finding a reputable clinic for ketamine infusion therapy in PTSD treatment is crucial for maximizing the potential benefits and ensuring your safety and well-being. By conducting thorough research, seeking referrals, evaluating credentials, considering facility standards and safety, and exploring personalized treatment plans, you can make an informed decision when selecting a clinic in Orange County. Remember to consult with medical professionals and trusted sources to guide you in finding a clinic that specializes in PTSD treatment and has a strong reputation for providing high-quality care. With the right clinic, ketamine infusion therapy can be a valuable tool in your journey toward healing from PTSD.

Choosing a Ketamine Rehab to Treat Your Depression
Ketamine, once primarily known as an anesthetic, has gained recognition for its potential to treat severe depression when administered in controlled settings. However, it's crucial to understand that ketamine is a powerful drug with potential for misuse and dependence. Choosing the right ketamine rehab facility is a critical decision when seeking treatment for ketamine addiction or managing ketamine withdrawal during depression treatment. In this article, we will explore key factors to consider when selecting a ketamine rehab program.
Understanding Ketamine and Its Risks
Ketamine is classified as a dissociative anesthetic and is sometimes used off-label to treat depression. It can induce a trance-like state, providing relief from depression symptoms for some individuals. However, ketamine is also known for its potential for misuse, leading to dependence, addiction, and ketamine withdrawal symptoms when use is discontinued.
The Role of Ketamine Rehab in Depression Treatment
For individuals struggling with ketamine addiction or dependence, seeking help from a specialized ketamine rehab program is essential. These programs are designed to provide comprehensive support, including detoxification, counseling, and therapy, to help individuals overcome addiction and manage ketamine withdrawal symptoms.
Key Considerations When Choosing a Ketamine Rehab
Accreditation and Licensing: Ensure that the ketamine rehab facility is accredited and licensed by relevant authorities. This ensures that the facility meets industry standards and regulations.
Specialization in Ketamine Addiction: Look for a rehab facility that specializes in treating ketamine addiction and withdrawal. Specialization often means a deeper understanding of the unique challenges associated with ketamine.
Qualified Medical Staff: A reputable ketamine rehab program should have a team of qualified medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, experienced in managing ketamine withdrawal and providing medical support.
Customized Treatment Plans: Each individual's journey through ketamine rehab is unique. The facility should offer personalized treatment plans tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of each patient.
Comprehensive Care: Effective ketamine rehab should include detoxification services to manage ketamine withdrawal symptoms, counseling or therapy for addressing the root causes of addiction, and aftercare planning to support long-term recovery.
Dual Diagnosis Support: Many individuals with ketamine addiction also have underlying mental health issues, such as depression. Choose a ketamine rehab that offers dual diagnosis treatment, addressing both addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Holistic Approaches: Look for a rehab program that incorporates holistic approaches like mindfulness, yoga, and nutritional counseling to promote overall well-being and support recovery.
Positive Reviews and Testimonials: Research the facility's reputation by reading reviews and testimonials from previous patients. Positive feedback can be a good indicator of the quality of care provided.
Navigating Ketamine Withdrawal
Ketamine withdrawal can be challenging, both physically and psychologically. Common ketamine withdrawal symptoms include:
Depression: A worsening of depressive symptoms may occur during withdrawal.
Anxiety: Increased anxiety is a common withdrawal symptom.
Cravings: Intense cravings for ketamine may persist during withdrawal.
Insomnia: Difficulty sleeping or disrupted sleep patterns can be experienced.
Psychological Symptoms: Individuals may experience mood swings, irritability, and difficulty concentrating.
Conclusion: Your Path to Recovery
Choosing the right ketamine rehab is a critical step on your journey to recovery from ketamine addiction or dependence. With the right support and treatment, it is possible to overcome ketamine addiction and manage ketamine withdrawal symptoms.
Recovery is a process that requires dedication and professional guidance. By selecting a reputable ketamine rehab program that offers personalized care, you are taking a significant step toward a healthier, drug-free future.

I think I'm going to wait until I finish the full course of treatment before I share in detail about my ketamine experience, but I gotta say, my outlook on life has increased immeasurably after two infusions. I'm still going a bit off the rails but it feels more fun!
